Laura Kinney Laura Kinney has been off the grid for a while. But it's time to walk in the world again. There were only two contenders for her first stop, and well, it's faster to get to New York City than it is to get to the Xavier Academy. So, she's made it to the city. Finding Andrea was annoyingly more difficult than she expected; she assumed that when someone was famous, everyone would know where they live. But it turns out that it's actually difficult to get personal information about famous people. Privacy, who knew. She actually spent most of her first day finding out where to go. Now, on the morning of her second, she's arrived at the building. She enters the tower, and explains she's here to see Andrea, which provokes more annoyance, as the building security wants some details, and her answers to "last name" of "Just Laura" and "what's your business" being "None of yours" haven't exactly endeared her to the security people. But, finally, she's in the elevator...and then out of the elevator. She starts over towards the door, and knocks on it. That's what you're supposed to do.
Andrea This afternon, Andrea is taking it easy. Her housekeeper came and gone already after a quick turn through their home. It's not that they are messy, if anything, her housekeeper is most likely bored doing some vacuuming and dusting before she takes off for the day. At the moment, she is sprawled out on the couch in a pair of jeans and a loose fitted sleeveless crop top of a swishy fabric. She has a bottle of water in her hands as she watches the local news.

The lobby pinged her earlier on her phone about 'Laura no last name' and she gave the go ahead to unlock the elevator to let her up. Once the cameras pop up on her phone to show her arrival, she hops to her feet and unlocks the four bolts with a smile. "Hey, Laura." She says as she waves her in. "Come on in! Wow. It's been forever since I've seen you."
Laura Kinney There's an actual smile from Laura. Small, but present, which is definitely a step in the right direction. "Hello, Andrea." She'll step up, and even offer the other young woman a hug. "It has been a while, yes. I've been traveling." A pause, and then she asks "Am I supposed to call you "Andi"?" She's beefed up her social skills some.
Andrea Returning the hug, Andrea gives her a grin. "Yeah, you can call me Andi. You got nickname priviledges." She closes the door and bolts the four locks, then heads for the kitchen. "I'll grab you some water. You want anything to eat?" She asks as she gives a long stretch of her body. The toned stomach and back can be seen, revealing the deep gouging of scars along her body that she earned when she battled the war wolves that were sent to the school. A reminder of all that she has fought for. "I have missed the hell outta you. Jay is out and about and my twin brother, Nevada, who you haven't met yet is most likely with him. They're besties at this point."
Laura Kinney     "I found out that you are supposed to call your friends by shorter, more affectionate names." Pauses. "Generally. The rules seem complicated." So many social things do. "Yes. I would like something to eat. I am very hungry." She admits, and then looks curious. She doesn't /quite/ understand twins. "You have a clone?"
Andrea "I have a brother that my mom squeezed out the same time as me, just a few minutes earlier. I only found out about him a year ago. He was living with my biological dad, while I was living with my mom. Seems like my mom had a big dark secret she hid from me. It's a long story, but I think you'd like it. It has violence and heroism involved." Opening the fridge, Andrea takes out a couple bottles of water, then takes out a plate of cold left over pizza from last night that she'll head over to microwave. Waste not. Nevada also really likes his junk food.

She plucks a picture of the two of them together and holds it out to her. There is similarities between the two of them, especially in the eyes. "He is .. um... a mutant also. Can turn into a wolf.. ish creature and he talks to dead people. He sends their souls to their final journey."
Laura Kinney Laura looks at the picture, committing it to memory, but it's less necessary. Her nose has already picked up the other scents here, including the one that shares a great deal with Andrea's scent. At least when your nose is as sharp as hers. But the last comment makes her frown. "The dead are dead. They do not talk." As many people as she's killed, the notion that they might is actually a little disturbing.
Andrea "Some of them actually do talk. I mean, they're dead in the sense that you turned their bodies into worm food, but they do have souls. I mean, you've seen demons in Illyana's hell world, right? What do they call that again .. um.. " Andrea trails off in thought. "I forgot off the top of my head, I don't talk to her. But, yeah, some souls get trapped on Earth, instead of instantly going to where they belong to upon their bodies death."
Laura Kinney Laura seems more than a little troubled by this possibility, frowning. "That sounds unpleasant. For all participants." She shakes it off, as the microwave beeps. Food takes priority, and she moves over to get it out from the microwave, grabbing out the plate and sitting it on the nearest countertop. "You are happy about this? About having a brother?"
Andrea "I actually am. Just not really the situation in general. I grew up with a guy I thought was my biological dad, but .. he wasn't. When my mom was overseas in one of the wars, she got critically injured and she found out it was her time to go. My biological father, Thane, came to her because he sensed her death was near." Andrea quirks her lips upwards. "I found out that my dad was shape shifted into a dog and has been loyal to my mother. I guess um.. her original .. dog died and he took it's place because he had a thing for her."

As her shoudlers rise upwards, her arms flop at her side. "So, at that moment he revealed his true form, that of the Barghest. A hound from hell. He broke the law to spare her life. In return, he was stripped of his power and to remain as a mortal man until he passes. In return to spare her life, he .. wanted an heir. So, they hooked up .. they actually fell in love and then when the war ended, she went home to my .. um.. father.. "

"I never did tell Tom, my dad, about any of this. It's mom's dirty secret and I only met this Thane guy once. My brother showed up a year later saying he wanted to meet me and he was tired of the secret. Threw me for a loop. I found out that after birth, he took Nevada and fled for overseas. My dad never knew .. she hid the truth, that she was pregnant with twins."
Laura Kinney Laura listens. "That...sounds strange. But then, my family situation is strange too. I think it will be nice to meet your brother." She takes a bite of the pizza. "Thank you for the food." That gets a slight smile; Laura remembers when she first learned to say thank you, and it was dealing with Andrea.
Andrea "Yeah, my brother is cute, and single. He has an injury though. He has a twist in his spine and wider hips, so he walks with a limp." Andrea says as she gives a long stretch of her body. She gives a nod of her head at the thanks, twisting her own water bottle open to take a sip. "So, you hit up the school yet? Where were you at anyways?" She asks as she sinks down on her couch, sighing happily at the feel of the cushions. Comfy.
Laura Kinney "There is nothing they can do, medically? And I have not been to the school yet. I need to go see Jean and Scott." Laura looks to Andrea. "You have left the school completely?" she asks, curious.
Andrea "No, nothing they can do. It's um... apart of the broken laws. That is his curse. He has to be a broken man." Andrea says with a sad look. "But, yeah! I left the school. I been back a few times, but I go to college at NYU with Jay now. I'm there for production, he's going for audio engineering. He and I are busy working on our first album together with his band. We got some new music out there. We're just busy. I even got a clothing line now! Um.. and I'm working on my charity with Mister Worthington. So, just too busy to drop by the school, but Miss Grey and I have girl's night out here and there."
Laura Kinney "Are you preparing to marry him?" Laura asks, curiously. "If so, I understand I am required to wear a dress and defend your honor." Okay, so she doesn't QUITE have it right. She finishes the first slice. "May I have another piece?" She takes a deep sigh. "It is very good to be back." She pauses and realizes she didn't answer. "I was in Japan. Among other places."
Andrea "I am hoping to marry him! Sam and Alexis are engaged now. So, I'm obviously putting pressure on him now to pop the question, but knowing him, he's going to take his sweet time." Andrea says as she gives a wolfish grin on her face, propping her feet up on the coffee table. They are sitting on the couch. "Yeah, go raid the fridge. Eat whatever you want. I just went shopping." She says as she motions her hand towards the kitchen. "What were you doing in Japan?"
Laura Kinney "Studying. Logan spent several years there trying to control his instincts and impulses. I thought that perhaps I might find something of use there." Laura answers. "And...I wanted to get away from New York for a time." Another bite of her pizza.
Megan Gwynn Megan Gwynn hasn't visited Andrea in a while, and while she could literally just pop in whenever she wants, that would be totally rude (besides she wouldn't want to surprise her!). so instead, she presses the buzzer downstairs. "Heey, it's Megs! You home, Andrea?" she calls.
Andrea "Can't blame you there. New York is pretty wound up. Jay and I are buying a house to move out near Salem. Going to live the country life and get away from all the noise." Andrea glances over at her phone as the app springs up to reveal the camera feed from outside. "Oh, Megan is here." She slides off the couch and heads over, unlocking the four bolts to let her in with a grin. "Hey! Laura is here too. It's like an old school New Mutie reunion now."
Laura Kinney Laura looks over towards the door, curiously. "I'm not certain I count as "old school"." She watches, curiously, as she takes in Megan's scent and stands as the new arrival enters.
Megan Gwynn Megan Gwynn pops in a second later, peeking around the door, then pushes it open the whole way. "Hi, Andrea!" she beams as she bounds in, giving her a quick hug before looking over at Laura. "Oh wow, Laura! Where you been? I haven't seen you in forever!" she giggles as she looks her over. "Hey, are you coming back to the school?"
Andrea Returning the hug, Andrea gives her friend a big grin. "Hey Megs. Laura was in Japan on a vacation. Laura, you remember Megan, right? We graduated together. Technically you became an X-Man and then quit showing up to class, but Megan and I was at graduation together." She says as she trots back towards the kitchen. "You want something to drink or eat? Laura wanted more pizza. It's from last night if you're starving."
Laura Kinney "I did not know her well, but I did see her around school." Laura replies to Andrea, before looking back over to Megan. "Do you still live at the school?" She takes a couple steps closer, scenting the air around Megan to see if there are familiar scents on her.
Megan Gwynn Megan Gwynn oohs, "Japan? Wow, that's awesome! What was it like, did you bring back any cool souvenirs?" she looks Laura up and down, wondering if she was doing a rigorous workout over there too, or got in a nice sun tan..Who knows?

"Oh yeah, of course I remember you." she giggles, "I've seen you around the school before too, but I guess we didn't get to hang out much." she makes a face. "I guess, at first I thought you were kinda scary but of course you mellowed out so that's cool."

She nods. "For now, yeah. Just for a semester of college, and I'm a member of Xmen now too! Although I'm gonna have to transfer to another college soon for my next year, maybe move in with my boyfriend.."
Laura Kinney Laura doesn't seem to be tanned, or not more than usual. Her skin's already been somewhat on the olive tone. "We hadn't. Your wings are very interesting, though. And I am sorry if I frightened you." She considers Megan's comment, and frowns faintly. "Everyone seems very focused on their relationships."
Megan Gwynn Megan Gwynn smirks and folds her arms, trying to appear a bit bolder than the nervous girl she might have been when she first started school at Xavier's. "Ohh, I've been in enough scrapes, battled enough big scaries to not be intimidated by a girl with claws..Not that you're not a badass person anyways, but I know you're not gonna just eat me up!"

She grins, fluttering her wings a little. "Ooh, thanks! I guess even my wings changed a bit as they got older." they were once big awkard, slow moving butterfly wings..But hey, a lot has happened since then.

As for the relationship thing, she pouts a bit. "Awe, sorry to make you feel left out. I guess it's part of growing up? But we should totally hang out more! You seem like a cool person and besides you're one of Andrea's friends, she always makes good friends."
Laura Kinney Laura looks surprised. "I do not eat people." She pauses, and looks over towards Andrea. "Did others say I ate people?" It would certainly explain some of the strange things that happened around her back at school. "And I don't feel...left out. At least, not more than normal." She looks to Megan. "What do you like to do to hang out?"
