Owner Pose
Insect Queen It was long. It was tedious. But after a neverending procession of old ladies who could not see well enough to find their pennies or families who stocked up on countless tiny items, Violet lets out a sigh of relief. "At last! It's finally my turn in line! I thought this would never-"

FREEZE!" Screams the tall, tattooed man behind Vilet, raising a gun and pointing it at the cashier. Violet has barely time to notice what is going on that a second man encircles her neck with his arm, and points a gun at Violet's head. "The cash! NOW!" Screams the first man. "And nobody move, or the nerd here gets it!"

Violet would have liked to raise multiple objections, but at the time, she's just frozen in fear.

"...it was my turn..." she whimpers, very quietly. "Why does this /always/ happen when it's my turn?"

"SILENCE!"

Violet shuts up.
Vanya Some people stock up on tiny items and some people stock up on big ones. Rolling past with a cart loaded with bulk packages of everything from rice to frozen vegetables, a sun-baked woman approaches with the triumphant spring in her step of someone who just found her staple food on sale. Her cheer deflates somewhat as she notices the state of the stores over-crowded lines and angles towards the bingo lane, only to jump along with most of the store and whip her head in the direction of the commotion. She squints at the apparent pair of robbers through yellow-tinted sunglasses and sighs. It was a long line, but it was still the shortest one in the store...

Fur, claws, and fangs begin to sprout from the woman's body as she shifts without preamble into a far less human form. Her tank top stretches and her limbs swell to fill her baggy pants as primal sinew layers itself upon a biped frame and sun-tanned skin is replaced by predatory stripes of orange and black. Reaching up to carefully remove her sunglasses and set them in her cart, the rapidly-shifting were-tiger sets a golden gaze on the two robbers and waits for the last of her changes to finish as a long slender tail slips out the hem of her shirt.
Insect Queen Violet O'Mara just stands there, trembling. Reaching for her amulet would probably be a bad idea: whoever is holding her could interpret it as a sudden motion and... results could be impredictable.

Of course, forcing the duo to face a tall humanoid weretiger is also another possibility, one that Violet hadn't thought of that one. Just happened to... stumble onto it.

"Boss! It's them! It's one of those weirdo werecritters!" Screams the one currently almost-choking Violet, his trembling hand causing Violet, who can feel the barrel of the gun being held against her head doing likewise, to feel a bit more worried than she already was. "Don't be dumb! That's just one of those guys in a CGI mascot costume or something. Ad for cereals or some junk like that." Boss, it would appear, is the skeptical one of the duo. He returns to face the cashier. "All the money. NOW!", he yells, pushing his gun further towards the terrified cashier.
Vanya Vanya's eyes shimmer expectedly as she draws their attention and the were-woman laughs, a heavy, rumbling sound that runs through vocal cords now more adapted to roaring than speaking. "Hey tupitsa, some of us are shopping here," she half-growls and half-shouts as she crouches down in a hunch before leaping into the air, vaulting high overhead and coming down towards the leading thug's back. Her claws are tucked but it's still a lot of were-tiger coming in for a landing.

Unfortunately for the blue-dressed young woman with a gun to her head, getting her safe seems to be the striped animal's second priority.
Insect Queen Violet O'Mara goes wide-eyed at the sudden display of tigerness. "Please don't shoot please don't shoot please don't shoot..." is all she can think about, over and over, until-

BANG!

Violet goes pale, but apart from a few milliseconds of terror, she doesn't feel particularly different.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Well, that explains why. The thug who's holding her is too busy shooting at Vanya (with what degree of success is hard to establish, though -- his hand /is/ trembling, after all...), who, at the moment, is pouncing towards the 'Boss'.

It's a blur, and a second later, the Boss is pinned to the floor, wide-eyed. breath completely pushed, no, SLAMMED out of his lungs. The bluntness of the attack, however, makes the Boss's gun go off in the process, hitting the cashier square on in the chest.

In the middle of this confusion, possibly unaware of the cashier's predictament, Violet takes the opportunity provided by the sudden distraction and pushes the scarab amulet on her chest. And as soon as she does that, her face twists into pained wince.
Vanya Not intending anything as dignified as a wrestling match, Vanya stomps down on the boss and pins him underfoot like a doormat with sheer weight and momentum. Crouching as she drops, the were-tiger ducks under the second robber's gunshots and spins around, whipping out a clawed hand to slap the gun away before leaping forward with a roar and pouncing him too. For the unlucky boss caught underfoot it's like having two pile-drivers slamming into his back.

For the unlucky young woman... she's about to be the meat in a very furry very heavy sandwich.
Insect Queen One Thug-n-Tiger Sandwich with extra Violet, coming right up! In a bunch of oofs! (And AGHs! And Gnns! And other annoyed sounds people make when squeezed out of breath!), the company ends up in a not-so-neat-pile, Violet suffering further under the effects of the amulet.

"AGH! UGH! No... no! NO!", she says, her face twisting, her teeth gnashing, and yet a tone of terror added to the pain in her voice. "Can't... stick... around... Must... hide... The crowd..."

Violet turns around, and noticed that, taking advantage of the distraction, the crowd is pretty much dispersing, nobody looking at the small group anymore.

With one last groan of pain, Violet suddenly grows in size to something completely unlike her former self: a massive six-foot-tall amazon (lower case 'a' -- it's metaphorical, not the actual race) with red hair, six arms, wings, antennas, and chitinous armour all over. This might displace the rest of the people engaging in improv human and therianthrope sandwich a bit. Violet's more high-pitched and weaker groan crescendoes into a lower-pitched, more powerful one, until the transformation into the Insect Queen's complete. At which point she just stares, deadpan, from her otherwise unseemly location in the most haughty way possible, and comments, "This is why I hate being human. No sense of properness."
Vanya Coming down on top of the pair, Tanya the Tiger maneuver herself to pin the thug beneath her under her arms and legs in a series of rough and violent jerks that jostle the group and thump against the tiled floor. The hot, hungry breath washing over her face likely doesn't help Violet's calm but once she's secured, the were-woman does ease her weight off the human's front, more or less freeing her enough to wiggle out.

Looking down at the woman curiously with a face that's more feline than human, Vanya contorts her brow, about to ask something before there's a sudden shift of bodies and she's once again pinning two bodies tightly to the floor.

A feline murr of pure confusion escapes the were-tiger as she finds herself on something much harder than it was a moment ago and her predatory gaze bounds up and down the insect's face and shoulders.

"You can do it too? Cool," Vanya purrs cheerfully.
Insect Queen Insect Queen sighs and groans, one hand wiggling out to pinch the bridge of her nose. "Yes, I can pin people to the ground just fine. And worse. But I am trying to be good and not murder anyone today. Cannot guarantee I'll succeed. So I suggest you do something for that breath. I do not find it pleasant, and this is coming from someone who has been a dung beetle."

"H...h...h...ey!", barely manages to wheeze out the criminal under the Insect Queen, who's currently managed to wiggle a second arm free and is trying to pull herself away from the pile. "Get off me y-"

A punch to the face, courtesy of Her Majesty's third arm, silences the bottom layer of bread. "Now, " states the Insect Queen, "I think it would be beneficial to everyone if we could just stand up again or, at least, gain some maneuvering room to violently slam these no-goods about until they lose consciousness or untile we no longer derive enjoyment from the activity, whichever happens later. Don't you agree?" She asks, turning her head up to look at Vanya.
Vanya "Hey, my breath's just fine," Vanya growls at the slight, regardless of the truth of the matter. Casting a disinterested look at the robber on the bottom, the were-tiger chuckles at the chitinous woman's reply then glances back to Her Majesty and begins to ease back up to her feet. "If you want her you can have her. I don't think the one behind me is going anywhere," she assures with a satisfied smile that flashes a full set of fangs.

The tiger-woman pauses as she comes up to her full height and sniffs the air. "I smell blood," she murmurs before looking over the till. "Korosho... do you know any healing?" Vanya asks of the insect.
Insect Queen Insect Queen states, "Nothing quick. I know of something that will take a long time and might either save or kill her. Do you have anything more dependable?", she asks, while getting up. She grabs the other criminal, and, as offered, SLAMS her against the wall. "Oh, what does Korosho mean?" she asks, absent-mindedly, while quickly alternating between punching the other criminal in the stomach and in the face with a different hand, while her other two arms keep her pinned to the wall, so high her feet don't touch the ground. She narrows her eyes at her, and leaning in, she whispers, so quietly nobody else can hear her, "...now, now. You've made a /huge/ mistake by threatening..." She goes silent for a moment, then continues, "...that woman." She pulls away and gives the criminal a vicious, murderous grin, and then resumes her nonchalant conversation with Tanya. "So, your mammal customs are slipping my mind at the moment. How inacceptable would it be to eat that bleeding human over there if we cannot heal her?"
Vanya "Just cursing in Russian, and I don't do any healing," Vanya explains as she watches the pummelling with some amusement. The fur and feline features begin to recede as the feral woman starts to shift back into her human form. Turning her hybrid face back towards the rest of the store she shouts, "Anyone with a phone might want to call an ambulance!"

"Very," she adds in answer to the insect as she turns back and takes the opportunity to look her over in full, still sporting tiger-orange eyes. "You'd cause a bigger panic and it would take even longer to buy our food and leave. You're lucky humans are food to you; I'm a vegetarian," Vanya concludes as she hikes a thumb to her well-packed cart.
Insect Queen Insect Queen says, "Vegetarian? Hm. I'm glad my diet can be more varied. But, good call, I'll keep quiet." She looks around, then states, "I believe everyone has scarpered." She casts an apathetic glance towards the bleeding human. "Well, everyone who could, anyway. But I'm sure the humans have already already sprayed around their pheromones to alert the rest of their hive of the danger. No, wait, they don't call them pheromones. Telephones. They've sprayed around their telephones to warn the hive. Yes." She returns to focus on the criminal who tried to kill her while she was in her human form. Her eyes narrow. "I think I'm taking this one home." She raises her forearm parallel to her face, and from the back of her chitinous gauntlet, she grows a chitinous spike, like some sort of stinger the size of a dagger. "As much as I'd like to, I'm not going to kill you. I mean, I would, if I had any say, but /someone/ would not approve." she smirks and leans closer, while newly formed glands cover the dagger/stinger in some sort of green liquid. "But you still need to learn that it is not wise to mess with /me/. So... I'm doing something..." she smirks. ".../interesting/ with you. Oh, by the way, this is going to hurt a bit." The criminal's eyes go wide as she is jabbed in the stomach. She turns towards Vanya. "Temporarily paralizing drugs are okay by mammalian standards, righ- Ah, who cares. I'm doing it anyway."
Vanya Vanya smirks as she watches the display and the same arm she's hiking grows chitinous plates down the hand and forearm. She flexes her newly-armoured fingers while looking back at the royal insect. An astute eye might recognize the overlapping plates of a scorpion. "You're not going to upset me. Just don't make a mess here; it would slow down my shopping."

"Where's home? It's not every day I meet someone else with more than human genes," the shape-shifter asks gamely with a bright-eyed smile as she shows off her own insect blood before letting it too fade away.
