Kit Killovarras It's about mid day, a few days after Kit's return to the school. When he's not in his room, studying or trying to deal with his recent issues, he can be found out behind the house, much further than most students would probably consider going out to.

Today he sits at the edge of the cliffs, looking out ofer the distant horizon, several dozen small stones surrounding him, moving in a strange sort of orbit around him as he lets his mind wander.

He's wearing very little, a pair of shorts and that's it, leaving the majority of his body visible. Several strange lines can be seen in his fur still, signs that there were wounds there not too long ago. Fur, after all, doesn't grow back immediately after being damaged.
Laura Kinney It didn't take long for Laura's favorite perch and getaway at the school to be usurped. She can feel the resentment creep up her back and turn her amble into a stalking motion for all of three paces until she catches herself. Brushing back her dark hair from her eyes, she considers the man and the rocks idling rotating behind him like day dreamed thoughts. Since she left the school, she lost her rights to certain points that she considered hers - the other students knew better than to bother her when she camped on them. It takes a lot of lone time to come face to face with her past.

Alright. She talked herself out of the anger and approaches the man with curiosity. Letting her sneakered feet make noise as she walks up behind. "Hey! Kit right?"
Kit Killovarras The stones all eventually form a line, their orbits meeting behind the creatures head, then continue again, each in an opposing direction from before. His ears twitch a little at the sound of footsteps and his tail swishes to one side as he turns his head to look at Laura, his golden eye being the only visible one for the moment as he gives a sort of half-hearted smile. "Mhmm." is all he gives in response to her question, though he doesn't turn his head back quite yet. She has his attention for the time being.
Laura Kinney Green eyes flicker over the man creature, reading cues from the movement of his ears, his scent. She doesn't have the answers to why the stones aligned the way they did but sensation of sympathy rises in her. Even that is a relatively new thing for her, if she could hold that feeling like a stone in her hand she would.

"Hey. I can leave you to it, you know?" Being defensive is easier than these other feelings.
Kit Killovarras One of the stones leaves it's orbit, moving over to swirl around Laura for a moment before stopping right in front of her, simply levitating there. The stone is soft, smooth and slick, more than likely picked up from somewhere near the base of the cliffs.

Kit meanwhile just offers a little smile and shrugs, turning his head back out towards the horizon. "Actually, I could use the company. People don't usually come this far back out here, ya know?" he says with a little chuckle, one ear folding to the side a little as he speaks. "Makes it a peaceful place to train, but it's a bit lonely at times too."
Laura Kinney Laura closes a fist around the stone, surprised at how warm it feels. Stroking it with her thumb, she nods faintly, lifting a shoulder in a shrug. She folds up a few feet away from him, sitting erect and cross-legged on the edge of the cliff with the suppleness and lack of fear of an animal.

"Yeah," she answers without looking at him, intent on some distant point on the water winking below them. "I wanted to be alone when I came out here. So, what's up at school? I've been out for a while."
Kit Killovarras "A few birthdays since I arrived, a bit of luxury and a bit of violence.." Kit says with a little smile. He'd be lying if he tries to claim he isn't using Laura to augment his training a little at the moment, since those stones take up a sort of figure-eight pattern around the two of them shortly after she sits down.

"Someone tried to hijack a train on my first outing with other students." he adds with a little shrug. "Actually, it seems like wherever I go, terrible things are bound to happen. Sometimes I wonder if it follows me, or if everyone here's just fated to misfortune."
Laura Kinney His last words merit a chuffed laugh and a glance. "Nah, sorry to pop that balloon. We've all got that whammy on us." Laura punctuates her words by pulling up tufts of grass.

"Comes with the turf of being different. Right? Who wanted the train?"
Kit Killovarras Kit just gives a little chuckle and glances back over to Laura as she tugs up a bit of the grass. "Figures." he says with a grin, then gives a shrug as he looks back out at the horizon and explains, "Some wannabe calling himself Dark Mage. Seemed like he was around my age."

Eventually the stones once again align, though this time it's in a line between the Aardwolf and Laura and just like before, each one takes on a new orbit after a moments pause.
Laura Kinney "Cool being able to do that." One finger reaches up to try to break the trajectory of a stone. In her other hand, Laura selfishly grasps the rock. Mine. The stone is powdery and slicks under the ridges of her thumb.

"So? What happened to the guy? Kind of a comic book name. I mean, 'Hi, I'm the Black Mage.'" Laura wiggles her shoulders like she is strutting on to the train, "I want to kidnap, you all!"
Kit Killovarras The rocks trajectory does get interrupted, but not in any simple way. Instead of simply stopping against her finger, the thing would swirl around it for a moment, tracing around her finger, then her hand before breaking away back to it's original path. "It's just a matter of focus. I've even met a human who could do this once, though not as easily."

Kit just shrugs, "No idea what happened to him, as far as I'm aware, he was handed over to the police after a bit of a beating." he says, tilting his head slightly and giving a little nod at the mention of it being a sort of 'comic book' name. "I mean, yeah. The name's a bit cartoony for my taste. Dude was a hacker, but the best part? He was relying on some poor mutant he'd tricked into helping him rob a train."
Laura Kinney Laura smiles faintly, concentrating on the rock orbiting her finger. She almost reaches for it but squeezes the rock in her other hand instead. "First I've seen it. I just slice things, not move them around." A truth about her but not the whole truth.

"Wait. What? Who had he gotten hold of?"
Kit Killovarras Kit shrugs a little, explaining, "No idea what his real name was, guy was a little slow. Dark Mage called him Tech Rat, which again, cartoony name for my taste, but it actually kinda suited him." with a little chuckle. Then the stones suddenly break orbit, stacking literally one over the other in front of Laura as Kit stretches his arms out in front of him. "I can cut things too, though probably not in the same way as you can." he says with a smile. He looks around for a moment, then tilts his head as a fallen branch from a nearby tree drifts over, giving a little flick of his paw, his claws glowing for a split second as they form blades in the air. The blades fly and segment the branch in four places, one for each projectile, then the four pieces stack themselves near the stones. "It's pretty useful for gathering firewood." Kit says with a little grin, then sticks his tongue out playfully for a moment before giving a sigh and looking back out at the horizon.
Laura Kinney Discovering what another person can do is often a key for how to kill them. It's Laura's default position vis a vis most people in the world. One that she is replacing albeit slowly. She would have to take this one by surprise lines up with another thought - what a wonderful thing to be able to do.

"Not bad. not bad at all. You'd be useful on a camping trip, for sure," she quips and means it, twisting her lips into a small smile. "So you can move stuff and cut it, too?"
Kit Killovarras Kit nods ever so slightly, "And mend pretty much anything." he adds with a smile. Then he gives a little shrug, looking down at his paw as his fur crackles with some kind of violet energy. "I've been trying to build on what I can do, but without someone who understands dimensional magic to teach me, I'm pretty much just learning through trial and error."
Laura Kinney "Magic?" Dark brows knit as she stabs a look at the being next to her. Okay, human. Mutant. Like herself. "Doesn't Jean know anyone who could help?"
Kit Killovarras The aardwolf just nods to the question of magic, "Dimensional magic specifically. I was born with the ability to channel energy from other dimensions through my body." So, perhaps not so 'human' if he was born with magic. Then Jean gets mentioned and he tilts his head for a moment before giving a shrug, "No idea, I haven't thought to ask, since until now my classes have been more on things like US history, government and whatnot. Citizenship tests are a pain in the tail."
Laura Kinney Existential questions like why do I have claws are part of Laura's daily life. She still expects people to frame the world like she does. His answer makes her blink, leaning precariously forward to look down at light flashing off the lake.

"I'm not telling you what to do." She straightens to really look at him, "I'd want to know. You know? Citzenship? I hate bureaucracy." She nearly spits the last word out. "Anyway. I'd ask if anyone else knew."
Kit Killovarras When Laura shows her disdain for bureaucracy, Kit just laughs and nods a little. "I don't really like it either, but then again it's better to have at least some safety net in case I get caught." There's a little shrug, then he holds out a hand, letting the energy jump off around his wrist, forming little orbs of energy in the air.

It's an attempt at something new and attempts don't always work, this one is no exception to this rule. There's a sudden burst of energy that pulses from his wrist to the orbs, then back and a loud yelp following it as Kit jerks his arm back and rubs his now ever so slightly smoking wrist. "I actually came to this country because of someone my grandfather told me about.." he explains, then shakes out his hand and inspects the damage. Aside from some scorched fur, there's no real harm. "A sorcerer who specializes in dimensional magics, but I haven't been able to find him."
Laura Kinney Laura's nose wrinkles at the scent of scorched fur. She is testing herself, too, by breaking the impassivity trained into her from her earliest memories.

"Safety net," she weighs the word. "Nothing is safe, especially the government if they get their hands on you. You plan on going to get a job? A green card or something?" The tone of her voice only carries a little of the scorn she feels for that very shaky concept of safety.
Kit Killovarras Kit shakes his head and muses, "Oh, trust me. I know nothing is really safe." Then she mentions a job and again, the aardwolf just laughs and looks to her with a tilt of his head, studying her with those mismatched eyes of his. "With a body like this? Nah, but it would make it easier to connect me to this school and as for the government?" He shrugs and gives a little grin, just barely showing off his fangs as he adds, "I doubt they'd be able to hold me too easily and even if they could, they'd probably regret the choice quickly."

Aaand, that's about the point that a burst of red light ripples behind the aardwolf, leaving what looks like a cardboard box right behind him, a bit bigger than a shoe box and labeled: 'Snacks' Kit just glances to the box, then reaches back and opens the box, snagging up a bag from inside it as he muses, "Speak of the devil."

There are several unmarked bags in the box, as well as a handful of snack foods generally sold in Egypt. Inside the box with it is a letter, unsigned, but closed with a wax seal that looks rather old in origin.
Laura Kinney "Can't you change the way you look? I mean, if you can move rocks, why not your face?"

Laura's green eyes flash red briefly at the appearance of the box, marking it as a threat. Physiological responses ready her to spring, blades forming under her skin. In the next breath, she puts a stop to the cascade.

"Devil? Yeah? What /is/ that?"
Kit Killovarras One of the bags gets popped open and it's contents get spilled into a paw... They're termites! Specifically, termites that have been roasted and coated in some kind of herbal powder. "My family send me care packages on occasion, normally some of my favorite snacks from home or a trinket or two along with a letter to let me know how things are back home." He noms on the paw-full of termites, then tips the bag to Laura, offering some of them to her, "Feel free to have a few if you'd like, or if you're not a fan of insects, there are usually a few other snacks in there too. Mom usually adds a bag of amber candies or some of her home made cookies too."

He gives a little smile, looking back over the horizon as he adds. "And no, I can't change the way I look, I've tried to, but no one in my family has ever been able to do that. Then again, none of them have needed to before I was born."
Laura Kinney @emit An odd fact floats to the surface as Laura watches him snack on termites. "White ants - in Arabic. Microcerotermes eugnathus Silvestri as old as the Pyramids. Is that where your family is from?"

Curiosity betters any suspicion as she leans to examine the contents of the box. "I'm just guessing. Amber candy sounds good. So, you have a family? And, they write?" All novel concepts to the young woman. She turns her green gaze on him and waits.
Kit Killovarras Kit's ears perk up a little as the 'random info' is shared and he gives a little chuckle, "I was actually born in Cairo, but my family has a compound along the banks of the Nile River a bit north of the border between Egypt and Sudan." he says with a smile, then nods and adds, "Yeah, actually part of their agreeing to let me travel around outside the compound is that we keep in touch. I have to write to them at least once a month or they'll find me and drag me back home."
Laura Kinney "Huh," Laura says, digesting the oddities of families and adding that to the stash of family lore. "Well, they should be able to help. Shouldn't they? Don't you miss Egypt?"

Launched on this exploration of family releases a dozen question of which she only voices one. The rest lie in wait. "I mean. Could they really drag you against your will? You look pretty grown up to me."
Kit Killovarras "Literally the only thing my mother would need to do to bring me back home is reach through a portal, grab me by the scruff and pull." Kit says with a little laugh, but then he shakes his head and explains, "She wont though.. Not unless she thinks I'm in danger. She knows how much I hated being a prisoner of the compound." Then he glances over to Laura and smiles. "And yeah, I do occasionally miss my home and my family, it's why I don't have any problems with keeping in touch with them, but they understood why I wanted to leave."
Laura Kinney "Well, I don't. Why did you want to leave?" The white walls of the labs, only a memory, threatens to block out the green smell of the trees ruffled by a faint breeze and the sun through the leaves. "I had to leave where I grew up." She looks sideways at him, "Your mother watches out for you?"
Kit Killovarras Theres a moment where Kit gets this look in his eyes, like he's thinking of a painful memory, but he smiles through it all the same. "Most of my life, my world was only what I could find within the walls of the compound. I didn't just, suddenly change one day, I was born like this." he explains, reaching a hand back to scratch behind one of his ears as he sighs. "Before my sixteenth birthday, I had only ever seen the world beyond those walls a handful of times and only one of them didn't involve me having to sneak out."

"When I turned sixteen, my family agreed to let me travel but my mother insisted that I had to stay in touch. She said that, if I gave her any reason to worry, she wanted the right to bring me back home."
Laura Kinney "How old are you?" Laura makes a barely perceptible sniff. "You don't sm...seem old." He probably caught the change of word. He might even have a sense of smell to match her own.

"I thought after you were twenty-one your family didn't have yanking rights. Leastways..." A shrug finishes the sentence. "Do you know Wolverine?"
Kit Killovarras Kit just chuckles a little and muses, "Scent isn't a good indicator of age with my family." with a grin, giving a glance to Laura before he adds, "My grandfather is almost three hundred years old, but he only smells like he's in his fifties." Then he shakes his head and gives a sigh, explaining, "I turned sixteen earlier this year. I've only been away from home for a couple months." Then he gives a little wink and adds, "Soo, yeah. Mom still kinda has 'yanking rights', at least legally for the next few years. Though knowing her, she'd try it even when I'm eighty. She's pretty protective sometimes."

Then she asks about Wolverine and Kit tilts his head a bit, then gives it a little shake as he gives a simple, "Nope, can't say I've met them."
Shannon      The day was warm, bright, and sunny. Alright, perhaps 'warm' was a mild understatement. Without putting too fine a point on it, it was enough to drive one winged student in particular mad, and seek the safety of flight, where the wind of her passage could cool her off just as effectively as any man-made mechanical means. Shannon was dressed in some cream-colored, loose cotton pants, a matching shirt tucked in for modesty, flat shoes, and had her hair pinned up out of her way.

It felt good to get out and just fly for its own sake, and this time, she elected to take a path around the entire outer edge of the property. This included the cliffs, which were a stunning sight to behold from her angle. As she glided overhead, though, a glance down revealed one more familiar face--and one she had not seen for quite a long time. Circling above the pair, she begins her descent, till she backwings to a landing nearby, silent for the moment.
Laura Kinney Apex predator sense tingles and Laura looks up breaking off her explanation of who Wolverine might be. As it is, she hardly has an answer that satisfies herself. A dark shape against the sun resolves into a winged young woman. Only at this school would those three words be put together, Laura muses. Standing to face the descending figure, Laura deliberately releases the tension of her predatory response, unclenching her fists and stretching her neck.

"Hey!" she only sounds friendly.
Kit Killovarras There's a tilt of the Aardwolf's head and a subtle sniff at the wind. It's hard to hide from someone with senses like an animal. His smile brightens a little as he cocks his head back and to one side, his voice carrying just enough to be heard at a distance, "Long time no see." he says with a little chuckle, his tail swishing across the ground behind him a few times.

There's a few moments of pause, then he reaches back and taps at a box sitting a little ways behind him, "Grab a snack if you'd like." he says with a smile, then grabs a small black silk bag and tugs it open, "My family sent something I think you might like." he says as he pulls three small, amber-colored candies from the bag, offering one to Laura and holding the other out in Shannon's direction.
Shannon      Shannon had seen that crack-the-neck maneuver from Logan many a time. Like father, like daughter. Smiling lightly, she lifts her chin in an up-nod towards her. "Hey, Laura. Haven't seen you for a couple years. How's it going?" She settles her wings more tightly against her back, with a little flick and ruffling of the feathers.

As she turns to look at Kit, her brows furrow with concern, though she maintains her smile. The lines without fur only serve to deepen that expression, a light little murring sound rumbling in the back of her throat. "Only a few days, really. Heard you had a lot on your plate. If you need an ear to bend, I'm here." The offer of a snack--along with mention of its familial origins--elicits a short bark of laughter from the young woman. "Those don't involve termites, do they?"
Laura Kinney Exotic aromas are enticing to Laura, new foods an avenue into the world that she was cut off from growing up. Kit couldn't have picked a better key. Extending her free hand, she takes the candy and immediately holds it up to her nose. A power snuff follows that would be the envy of every sommelier or perfume nose in the world. "What is it? There is a flavor I don't know." Termites might have been part of her curriculum but not spices.

Taciturn as her progenitor, Laura gives the winged woman a nod, and the glimmer of a smile, effusive for her, "Nope. Had some traveling to do. I might be back for a while. Stuff in New York and the Warlocks."
Kit Killovarras Kit shakes his head and laughs at the mention of termites, "Nah, just honey and anise. No termites, at least not in these." Then he gives a glance into the box and adds, "Might not be wise for you to try the chocolates that are in the box though."

He does notice the look Shannon gives when she looks at the marks in his fur, giving a little nod as he admits, "Yeah.. Saying I had a lot on my plate is actually.. a bit of an understatement. Actually," There's only really a split second of a pause, but it's enough to indicate that he's not entirely comfortable with what he says next, "I nearly killed someone. Aaand I may have a warrant out for my arrest."
Shannon      "Oh, anise... there's a nice biscotti-like toast I make sometimes with anise. Remind me to bake some sometime soon." That spice was familiar to Shannon. This, she had no problems accepting, and trying one of the little amber-hued droplets of goodness. For a moment, it looks as if she's in heaven, as she pops the candy into her mouth and just lets it start to dissolve. "Your family could do well selling these," she murmurs. "Heck, I'd be their first customer."

The more sobering topic of just what Kit's been up to brings her back down to earth, and her brows furrow once more. Nodding as she listens, she tilts her head to one side. "You weren't kidding. Folks here have your back, though. If they can help it, they won't let anything happen to you."

News of Laura's more prolonged return is met with a nod, and something of a light smile. "Good to hear. You had a chance to catch up with your dad yet? Though, come to think of it, I haven't seen him for a little while, either. Some of that might be from traveling a bit myself."
Laura Kinney Exotic aromas are enticing to Laura, new foods an avenue into the world that she was cut off from growing up. Kit couldn't have picked a better key. Extending her free hand, she takes the candy and immediately holds it up to her nose. A power snuff that would be the envy of every sommelier or perfume nose in the world. "What is it? There is a flavor I don't know." Termites might have been part of her curriculum but not spices.

Taciturn as her progenitor, Laura gives the winged woman a nod, "Shannon, right?" Memory of the young woman return. "Nope, I haven't been around. Had some traveling to do. I might be back for a while." The word dad punches her awareness. She doesn't use the word referring to Logan. It feels too intimate.

With an up-nod to the Aardwolf, "Thank you for the candy," she adds, oddly formal like the words don't roll out of her mouth easily.

"Guess I'll see you both around," she seems to have reached the limits of her social ease then, and strides away back toward the school.
Kit Killovarras Kit watches Laura head off, then gives Shannon a glance and a nod. "They could, but they don't, which is kinda sad. Some of these recipes have been in the family for generations." he says with a little chuckle. Then he gives a little stretch, letting the fur across his body fluff out just a little before he once again extends a hand, his violet energy crackling around his arm, 'dripping' off his wrist in small beads of energy.

Again, there is a sudden pulse of energy and a yelp as the energy 'rubber-bands' back into his wrist, leaving a thin ring of singed fur and the aardwolf shaking his arm and trying not to cuss. "Yeah," he says after a moment in response to people here having his back. "I've noticed. Part of why I disappeared is because I wasn't sure though.. Beating someone half to death isn't really a good look for a student, ya know?"
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie comes flying by seems he was out doing a bit of errands, as when he lands, he has a backpack on, and looks to the two with a nod in greeting . Waiting to see what they are up to before either joining the conversation or heading inside.
Shannon      Shannon flinches as she witnesses the energy just rubber-band right back onto Kit, shaking her head slightly. "Need a hand there?" she says. "That looked... kinda painful." As for the rest, she just listens, not saying a word for some time. "You'd be surprised what some students here have done," she finally says. "I'm gonna pass on what someone told me once. We all make mistakes. Some bigger than others, like tripping over our own shoes. But we pick each other up from them."

Sam's arrival gets a smile, and she bounds over to give him a hug. "Hey there, big bro... what's up?"
Roberto Da Costa Roberto Da Costa flies in over Breakstone Lake. moving at a solid clip, his blackened form only visible by the slight flare of his corona and he seems to be focusing on minimizing that visibility while maintaining flight. he is however silent as he drops out of the sky and lands lightly nearby, "Ola Samuel, Ms. Lance." He nods to each and then turns to regard Kit, giving a smile and a nod, ".Kit, isn't it" Yes, someone reads the newsletter.
Kit Killovarras There's a moment where Kit's ears droop a little, then he gives a sigh and admits, "I don't entirely see what I did as a mistake. I mean, yes. I lost control of my magic, but beyond that? Even if I had full control, chances are we'd both still be in the same situation." then he bites down on the remainder of the candy in his maw with a little cracking sound, still rubbing his wrist. "He wanted a fight and he wasn't going to stop until he'd either won, or was too badly hurt to stand. He didn't care who he hurt in the process either."

He glances to Shannon when she offers him some help, giving a playful little grin as he asks, "Know anything about the transfer of dimensional energy through soft tissue and bone?" with a little grin. "It's ok," he says a moment later with a wink. "It stings a bit, but it's nothing too bad. I just haven't been able to figure out this new spell I've been trying is all."

The new arrivals get Kit's attention. He gives Samuel a nod in and a smile in return, then Roberto lands and he tilts his head, "Yup." he says with a smile.
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie hugs Shannon back, and says "Hey Kiddo." She maybe 18 but she will be kiddo for a while longer. He looks over to Kit, and says "Hope Ah am not interrupting anything." He raises a fist for a fist bump when Berto lands. "This is Roberto Da Costa, he was a student here back when we were your age." He offers in introduction to Kit.
Shannon      "Back when the hills were young, Fire Farts?" Shannon snickers softly, but dips her head in a nod of greeting to Roberto. "Mr. DaCosta... what brings you out this way?" She smiles lightly but keeps quiet. Being 'Kiddo' wasn't such a bad thing, either, really.

"Yeeeah... no, don't know doodly about magic. I leave that to folks like Doctor Strange and all," is her reply to Kit. That name is spoken by her as if she had bitten into a whole lemon, though nothing further is said.
Roberto Da Costa Roberto Da Costa smiles and returns the fist. bump with a grin. "Ola, yes, guilty as charged, though responsibilities keep me away. it seems we all make our way back at the oddest times.." Berto smiles at Sam and his gazes slides over to Shannon but rests on her for only moment, "Ola, A- menina. I could not sleep anf figured practicing my nightlight and stealth was as good excercise as any other." Berto shrugs, "Magik? That is Illyana's purview... and her apprentice, though, I would not place too much weight in Megan's skills just yet." Roberto looks to Sam and Shannon with an apologetic smile, "Strange is knowledgable but hard to reach. There are others a girl at X-Corps, Willow? I think and there is evens wizard in the phone book if you can believe that."
Kit Killovarras Kit gives a little nod to Roberto and a simple, "Nice to meet you." The names he mentions though get the aardwolfs attention and a perk of his ears before he gives a nod. "All names I'll have to look into.. I've met Megan, I doubt she's studying the type of magic I use though." Then there's a glance to Shannon and Kit just laughs at the name Dr. Strange. "Doctor Strange.." he says with a grin. "There was a conversation earlier about names that make people sound like comic book villains, I think I'm adding that one to the list."

If only if only the creature knew, that Strange was the one his grandfather had sent him on a search for when he left home for the first time. He gives a shrug, then repeats the magical attempt as he explains, "I've been trying to figure out how to create an illusion by projecting the same energy I use for the rest of my magic.." as he continues the spell, though this time the pattern of energy that snakes around his arm at first is slightly different. The same result is gained however, but this time there's more than just a bit of burnt fur. A few strings of blood are flowing down his fingers by the time he's done cussing at the failed attempt and when he notices that, he sighs, "Well, that's the last attempt for tonight it seems..."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie looks to the man, and will pull out a bandana from his pocket, and offers it to the younger man "Yea, Illy is probably your best best, and she maybe able to take you to limbo and help ya more there, warning though if she takes you there listen to what she says, some may sound weird as all get out but warnings aboutt hat are very serious." He smirks a bit at the firest farts comment from Shannon.
Roberto Da Costa Roberto Da Costa frowns, his reaction quick but maybe not fast enough as the light flares, the magic curdles to flame and the heat blossoms, he reaches out hand and arm darkening, pulling the heat into himself. "I am not skilled with magik, but fire I do have some talent with" He grins and shrugs. Then nods very seriously, "Yes, take even the smallest instruction with the utmost respect. She will save your life but only if you let her."
Kit Killovarras Kit doesn't miss the attempt to stop his injury from Roberto, nor the offered bandana, both of which get a little smile, "Thanks." he says with a little chuckle. He doesn't take the bandana though, but rather, licks away some of the blood on his wrist, then draws a line across the wound with his claws. "Limbo huh? I mean, I know I can channel energies from other dimensions, but I've never been to a different one. Might be worth a look." Then the warnings of 'listen to your teacher' and Kit just gives a little grin and a chuckle, "I tend to take most instruction where magic is concerned with the utmost respect. Last time I didn't, I wound up with half my fur gone and a broken leg." Then he taps at the now glowing wound and the energy crawls across the markings he made, sealing the skin as it dances across it. "So, Illyana, definitely someone I should look into then."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "She is our resident magic instructor. If Ah have a magic problem, she is the first Ah go to." He looks over at the wound and says 'Interesting healing there, it work on things other than self inflicted magical damage?" He will ask the young man.
Roberto Da Costa Roberto Da Costa shakes his hand as the magic creates a kind of feedback, "That was odd, but yes, The demon queen is our primary resource for all things magical."
Kit Killovarras Theres a sudden laugh and Kit asks, "Wait, demon queen?" with a tilt of his head, then grins a toothy grin and muses, "Well I mean, I've met a dude on red pajamas who hangs out with vampires, a dude who looks like a clown in metal armor who has divine scrawl tattooed in arcane energy on his tits and apparently the devil is real.. So I mean, a demon queen doesn't sound too far fetched." with another little chuckle. "So, she's an instructor here?" he asks after a pause and time taken to stop laughing, tilting his head slightly.

Samuel's question gets a nod, "I can mend pretty much anything with it, the problem is, if it's something surface level like burns, cuts, broken glass or such, it's an easy fix. If it's something like a stab wound? I'd have to physically put my claws into the wound as far as it goes to be able to heal it, otherwise it would just keep bleeding wherever the energy doesn't reach and create a pocket where blood could pool.. Which, isn't a pretty thing to go through in either case really."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Yea, she is one she is one of our class. Blonde, Russian, suggest you don't go "Hey you the Demon Queen, asking if she is Illyana Rasputin much better idea." He offers and hmms a bit to the healing "Still good to know if it is needed.
Roberto Da Costa Roberto Da Costa hrms considering the visual, "I think that I will stick to Shi'ar healing tech, for now. Honestly, I would stay away from hey you, in general, where Illyana is concerned. Magik, Ms. Rasputina, my liege, these are much more appropriate, 'Ms. Rasputina, your friends Sam and Berto said you might be able to instruct me on a magical matter, if you have time. Roberto gives a formal little half-bow as he speaks. Then he nods, "Like that."
Kit Killovarras Kit just nods a little, "My method of healing is a last resort in most situations. It's pretty hard to convince someone you're healing them when it feels like you're trying to kill them." Then he gives a little stretch before finally standing up. The comment of 'my liege' gets a little chuckle too as he rolls his shoulders, musing, "Something tells me it's going to be an interesting day when I meet Ms. Rasputina." Then he sticks his tongue out and adds, "Noted regardless, show her the same respect I'd show to any of my past masters."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit and says "She is master of her domain, and a mutant on top of it, good idea." He tells the other man. "If there are other things you need, we can help out but we are a bit more on the mundane side, Coal Miner, and Billionair, you know just two average guys."
Roberto Da Costa Roberto Da Costa nods considering, "I mean if not you're doing it wrong." He grins and sighs, "I had such a crush on her. Demon queen snd all." Berto grins at Sam and laughs, "Totally average unremarkable guys."
Kit Killovarras "Never really had a crush on a teacher." Kit muses with a smile. "Never really had a crush in general actually." Then there's a moment of pause and his left ear flops to one side as he adds, "Ok that might be a lie, but oh well." Then he gives a glance between the other two and tilts his head. "Coal miner and a billionaire, both of whom can fly." he pauses to grin, then shakes his head and adds, "Yup, sounds perfectly average."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "Well, he had to learn to fly, he had to keep up." He gives his friend a bit of a verbal jab. "We get all kinds here, when we first got here, was first time Ah was ever out of Kentucky. But will tell you, the folks you get to know here and befriend, will be your friends for life. To be honest in some ways Jax reminds me a bit of Berto here when he was younger."
Roberto Da Costa Roberto Da Costa hmmphs, "Being carried around was getting embarassing. Jax? I'm not sure I've met him. ahe's right, the friends you meet now will be with you for life. We were the third class, the second group of students and we stay in touch to this day though we lead wildly divergent lives."
Kit Killovarras Kit looks back out from the cliffs for a moment, then nods and looks back to the others with a nod. "I'm starting to understand that." There's a thoughtful look and a pause before he admits, "Never actually had friends before I came here, to be honest. Kinda glad I wound up here though. Life was pretty lonely living in the shadows."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Well, we all try to be a bit of a family here, we might have been through all kinds of different things growing up, but we all share something here. Sometimes people will seem a bit different around here, but you try to give them a chance and folks give you a chance in return.
Roberto Da Costa Roberto Da Costa yawns and covers his mouth, "We do, yes, have each others backs. Even to the point of buying a bar and letting you run it." Berto grins, "Speaking of which, I need to talk to you about the rooftop bar."
Kit Killovarras Kit's ears perk up at the mention of a bar, but he just gives a sheepish little smile and muses, "A bar huh? May have to find your place when I'm older." he sticks his tongue out for a moment, then stretches once again and gives a simple, "Anyhow, I have studying that needs done, so I'm gonna head in." He nods to the others, offering a smile as he adds, "Thanks for the information by the way. Have a nice rest of your day." as he starts off back towards the school, tail swishing in stride and giving a wave over his shoulder with his slightly burnt paw.
