Shredder     It takes serious business connections to get to the top of LexCorp. Certainly to have a new entity to hit the scene and get on the calendar. General Krang, who appears to be Russian, if all paperwork is correct, is looking for help in crafting a new technological defense. He managed to make it past the gatekeepers, and as such, now has a video conference that's been set up for discussion of some rather lucrative sounding business.
Lex Luthor The call would be routed through LexCorps series of satellite and fiber networks... and a background process to trace back to it's origin call would tell him where Krang is. Paranoid? Yes, but paranoia is what has kept Lex on top, and he isn't about to stop now. Getting inroads into Russia would be a boon... especially if he can keep his involvement low key so the nationalistic 'patriots' of the US didn't hear about his dealings.

On the dot, the holographic system turns on in the office, extrapolating both Krang and himself in 3D so it feels like he's talking to the man himself. The little details help, after all.

When Krang's side opens up, he'll see Lex standing with his hands formally behind his back, a warm expression of his face and carefully neutral eyes, "General Krang. Greetings to you Sir... how are you this morning?"
Shredder     The location doesn't exist. It's somewhere deep in the Pacific. Satellite images show nothing there.

The image of Krang appears, a towering man easily seven and a half feet tall, barrel chested and dressed as if for winter. Strange perhaps if he is indeed in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

"Mr. Luthor. I do well, but I set this meeting on a busy schedule, so I will dispense with pleasantries," he says, his form sitting in a chair that appears to be a loveseat sofa, a window behind him that shows nothing but sky. "I have reviewed your accomplishments, and find them to be remarkable. Few men on Earth have the resources or ingenuity that you have. Which is why I believe you may be the proper candidate for my research. I have come into possession of some powerful alien technology, and plan to use it to develop a far more adequate defense system in this world of powerful individuals. I understand you can appreciate that sentiment."
Lex Luthor Alien technology besides Brainiac? He'd heard rumors about such things with SHIELD, but without a major operation, Lex wasn't in a position to test that theory. The trace would be analyzed later... he was either expecting a trace, or something is blocking his signals. He would have LexTech find out.

"Very well." Lex agrees amicably. Then, he listens, letting the General finish... before he raises a questioning brow, "I'm listening."
Shredder     "This world has far too many forces that can undermine supremacy. Magic, technology, mutations, and of course foreign visitors. While I am not willing to reveal all of my project for security purposes, I am seeking well suited companies which may be used to build portions of my project. As such, you will of course be paid a fair price. But I feel a better selling point is that I will share with you pieces of the understanding behind the alien technology, which of course you can use to advance your innovations for your own company."
Lex Luthor "You're offering me patents under US and international law, then?" Lex presses.
Shredder     "No," the large man says, sitting remarkably still. "I am offering you scientific knowledge which will enable you to create your own. The components that I require will be mine, and the rights will remain as mine. But the scientific advancements which you currently lack to fabricate them will be yours to do with as you see fit for your own developments. Surely a man of your talent can arrange his own inventions."
Lex Luthor "I can." Lex concedes. "I reserve the right to tell you if such knowledge is sufficient for us to actually have anything useful from it though. What works for you may not work with us and require adjustments."
Shredder     "What I require will need to be made to specifications," the general answers. "It will involve new molecular compounds which shall need a new understanding on a chemical front, which you can use in the design of your own patents, enabling you to better utilize conductivity, structural integrity, and heat dispersement If you are able to deliver on schedule, you may be awarded with further priveledge. As this stands, it requires an act of trust upon my part, for you must receive the knowledge before I receive my product. If are unable to fully utilize the knowledge, I have no responsibility for that."
Lex Luthor "Send me the details, and I can review them." Lex finally replies after about ten seconds. This was a weak bargaining position, but sometimes you had to swallow your pride to keep in the game. The long con, this was. He'd find the information he needs later. "I'll get back to you once I've consulted with the relevant subsidiaries."
Shredder     "Very well," the general answers. "I will grant one week, and then move on to other candidates." And with that, the meeting is ended without as much as a polite 'good bye'.
Lex's name is well known throughout the business world, and surely there are few people who are willing to be curt toward him, but this man? He either somehow doesn't know who Lex is, or is confident enough in his position that he thinks he can be just that blunt. He either holds a very good hand, or he is a complete fool.
Lex Luthor When the hologram cuts out, Lex narrow his eyes in thought. Then... "Harmony, run a sweep of LexCorp tower for malware, then setup a sweep of the entire penthouse and surrounding floors for hardware bugs with Team Luthor. Something is off about this deal." Then, he turns around and starts walking towards his desk, "Mercy, consult with IT and see if we had a back trace attempt. Hope, get the relevant CEOs scheduled for a meet tonight. No exceptions. Pull them from vacation if you must. I'll pay bonuses."

As Lex gets to work, he brings up the trace attempt on his holographic interface, reading the code one line at a time...
Shredder     As Harmony runs the sweep, it becomes clear that no one has infiltrated LexCorp with any bugs. The back trace is unable to find any digital record of anything at that point in the ocean other than simply ocean, and there's no indication there was an attempt to hide the trace or reroute it at all. It's as if the general wasn't concerned about his location being known in the least bit. A satellite refocus on the area will reveal a 100 meter superyacht in the area, a very realistic contender for the source of the signal. It doesn't seem to be traveling anywhere at the moment, having literally set up shop in the middle of the ocean.

But why was he wearing a winter coat? Whoever the general is, he doesn't turn up on any information that is more than a year old. A new rise to power? Or someone who has been very successfully hiding in the shadows of Russia prior to this. One thing is for sure, people who know about him are remarkably tight lipped about him.
