Lucy "There's an entire tactical team upstairs. We've just got a couple of scientists and a small security detail. No one expects problems this deep inside," Dave is explaining as he leads Molly through the hallway. They are approaching the Computer Operations center, as Dave is quick to point out. he even points at the plaque. It helpfully reads,

            Computer Operations Center

Well, isn't that convenient?

Dave approaches the door slowly, glancing back at the woman behind him and noting both her gun and the uplink she's tucked away before slowly shaking his head. "Alright. Let me get the door for you." He scans his badge and then punches in a series of numbers on the keypad. Six of them. The door unlocks with an audible *THUNK* and then he turns the handle. Carefully.

On the other side of the door, just as the camera indicated, is a woman. Tall, slender, freckled, and brunette. She is wearing a pair of slender blue framed glasses and an expression that quickly ranges from annoyance to terror. "Dave! What do you think you're- oh my god!" The woman- her name is Lorelei, according to the tag- throws up her hands. "What are you doing? I-I... Why are you in here?" She squeaks slightly. Dave quickly steps out of Molly's way.

The commotion was inevitable, really.
Rose Kolodny "And your friends upstairs aren't going to sit around idly, Dave." Molly points out, waiting with all the patience she can muster for him to open the door,"Back. Back!" is uttered at Lorelei when the door opens.

"Network connection. Where?" the razorgirl demands rather than answer the question right away,"I'm not here for either of you as long as you don't do anything stupid."
Lucy "No. They have blueprints and are probably just going to reroute the elevator access. This lab is designed to be able to fully isolate from the outside but if there's a weakness..." Dave is frank and honest. Lorelei, on the other hand, is just staring.

"A network connection? I can't- I mean, I won't..." The woman swallows hard as her gaze goes to the gun. "Yes. Of course. Network connection." She gestures to the computer in front of her. "Here we are. It's a computer. It's as into our network as we're- going to get."

On the screen, in fact, the machine is displaying a drone and a complex series of instructions. Deployment orders for the evening. Which means this computer has contact with the outside. Finally.

The brunette steps back toward the wall. Dave positions himself half in front of her, as if his presence will protect her should Molly decide their numbers have come up. Stranger things have happened.
Rose Kolodny "Yep, and when they get here, Dave, they're going to try and kill me. You'd better hope they count you and Lorelei there as useful enough not to shoot at too." Molly states indifferently, reaching out to thumb the uplink out of her head again and find the slot to stick it into the system.

"Now." she says as she turns towards the pair, lips quirking at Dave's protective stance,"I'm not interested in your drone designs and their telemetry reports. Which of these systems reports to your affiliate locations?"
Lucy "We have an encrypted line that runs under the building and connects to the HQ data center..." Lorelei starts slowly. dave is being quiet now, still standing so as to keep himself between the scientist and Molly. He has nothing constructive to add and so remains silent.

Once the uplink is in the system the familiar blue light begins to blink the way it did before. The entire computer shuts off with a soft whoosh. Lorelei is staring at it. She starts, "W-without that machine we don't HAVE a link to headquarters here. I mean..." She swallows, hard.

The computer flickers back on and now code is streaming across the screen in front of Molly.

A moment later: "...Molly, you found an uplink? Good. We have problems. How close are you to acquiring the hard drives where they've been storing their drone data?" Lucy is back.

Now the map updates...

Not far from the warehouse red dots litter the street. There are only fifteen to twenty in and around the building itself, several of which seem to be attempting to find an entrance to the downstairs level now.
Rose Kolodny "Apparently the system you're in is connected to their headquarters." Molly elects to inform Lucy with a glance towards Lorelei and Dave,"I'm in their server room with two of their employees." there's a pause as she flicks through the updated maps.

"Apparently the elevator I came down is the only way that Dave here knows how to get out. Though I'm near the hangar. Looks like getting out is going to be considerably more... fun... than getting in was."
Lucy "Yes. Headquarters encryption levels beyond expected parameters. I am not near a stable local connection. Lowered bandwidth is making cracking difficult... I can access local hardware, however." Lucy is speakign matter-of-factly while data streams by on the monitor in front of Molly at mindnumbing speeds.

"You need the second and third drives. Relevant data including access lists," Lucy offers quietly. "Can the technician help you remove them?" After a moment the girl seems to be considering something. "Drones are small. Hangar might not be helpful for exiting. I am accessing the local communications now. Routing you a feed..."

"-should be breaching the laboratory in approximately twenty seconds, sir."

"-Advance by fire teams, groups of three. There is only one hostile but we have assets downstairs. Use of grenades is NOT authorized except for stun-"

"-Mechanized units converging on unknown assailant outside warehouse. It's bouncing rocket-propelled grenades! Deploy experimental anti-armour-"

It's a lot to take in all at once but Molly can always choose which feeds to keep on at a time.
Rose Kolodny Molly Millions turns towards Lorelei and Dave, gesturing with the carbine,"Second and third drives, if you please." she doesn't tune out the feeds entirely, keeping an eye and ear on the two in the room even as she listens to what's coming down the proverbial pipeline.

"Assessment. Can drones be utilized to deliver the drives?" Molly asks of her connection before adding,"Quickly, Lorelei. The good news for both of you is your back-up is coming. But they have authorized the use of grenades." liar, liar,"So you don't want me to be here when they arrive."
Lucy "...Accessing drone controls now," Lucy responds. Then a second later, "It appears inviable because drone tracking cannot be disabled remotely." Lucy's voice is almost wistful. "It was a good idea."

Lorelei blanches and Dave blankly replies, "They authorized what?" The disbelief is obvious. He's in shock, clearly. The brunette rushes to the computer to begin the laborious process of removing the casing. it's a pretty complex rig. It isn't hard to convince her to wait to disconnect the power for a moment.

"...When the computer is disconnected I'll lose you again," Lucy starts slowly. "Find somewhere to hole up. Try to buy as much time as you can."

This message is coming in conjunction with: "Breaching sub-basement level in T-30 seconds. Mark. First priority is to eliminate hostile to ensure data security. Remember hostage taker protocols. Shoot to kill."
Rose Kolodny "It just needs to bring you the drives, honey. Once they are in your possession you need to leave." Molly asserts, shifting towards the doorway and raising the carbine with a grimace,"Lorelei... those drives, please." it's easy to sound calm when you're used to having to subvocalize under stress. It's not that Molly doesn't take the danger seriously, at all. She knew this was going to be a balancing game of time.

"Dave, go ahead and get behind those panels... Lorelei, as soon as you've got those drives out, join him."

"Honey," she adds for Lucy, unwilling to use her name where it might be overheard,"Tell that bucket of bolts no mercy. I'll see what I can do to keep them busy." like.. try to find a path to the elevator as quickly as possible, but she's not going to say that where Lorelei or Dave might reveal her intention.
Lucy "...Alright. A drone is activating now- you have two minutes to place the drives on it. Then-"

The computer is disconnected from the power with a soft whoosh as it shuts down. Lorelei looks upat Molly and quickly opens up the panels. It's a mass of dead lights and an enormous heat sink among circuit boards. The drives themselves are each large, slender rectangles, nearly the length of a forearm and wearing a couple ounces.

Dave disobeyed Molly for the first time in that he wait for Lorelei before taking cover. He's brave, if nothing else. The two quickly disappear, leaving Molly alone with a half-dismantled computer and her own thoughts. In the distance the elevator can be heard rumbling to a halt.
Rose Kolodny Molly Millions stows the carbine for now in order to grab the drives. She has speed at least, and the updated map, electing to sprint for the hangar and the drone. The carbines strap is sacrificed to secure the drives to it with as much efficiency as possible, silent prayers sent up to gods she doesn't even believe in that it will work, that she can at least be sure that the drives are out so she has one less thing to worry about. Time isn't just 'of the essence' it's a shrieking claxon of danger, and she knows it, every second wasted its own clanging portent of doom.
Lucy There's that other security guard that Dave mentioned. When Molly sprints up to the drone his eyes start bulging. Then he's glancing at the elevator door, apparently responding to something Molly cann o longer hear. The comm chatter, no doubt. The guard has his gun but he doesnt' shoot at Molly. He sprints for the hallway instead.

It's fortunate the drone launch sequence is pre-programmed. Molly has just enough time to affix the drives to it before the Mockingbird begins to sing. It's a high-pitched whine as the engines ignite at the drone starts rolling toward the narrow hangar doors that point out over the docks. Too small for a person to fit through, probably. Certainly not likely to be open long enough.

All Molly would have to do is look up to see that half a dozen heavily armed men will be streaming into the hangar at any moment... And she's out in the open. Nothing really here except the other drone. At least there are storage crates agianst the walls.
Rose Kolodny Once it starts to lift off, the razorgirl grabs her gun and sprints for it. Storage containers might be the fastest option, but she has no interest in getting trapped in a wide open space where the numbers of her enemies would vastly overwhelm her, so she sprints back towards the door she came through with the intention of trying to lose them in the hallways or at least find somewhere she might at least not get caught in crossfire.
Lucy Once Molly makes the entrance to the hangar bay the best thing she can do is take cover by diving back into the network room. There's a burst of gunfire following her and the nshe is inside the office with the carcass of a supercomputer. It's possible to take cover by the door and assess the hallway. Three troopers at the far end. One of them has a grenade in hand. Flashbang incoming...
Rose Kolodny "Damn these guys are good." Molly can't help but mutter, scrambling as she gets her back to the wall near the door to the network room and kicks the door closed in anticipation of the flashbang. A cursory check to make sure that Dave hasn't decided to play hero as she eases up away from the door on its lee side.

Silently she counts off. Fireteams of three each, at least four in the area, not including the guys that seemed to be coming in from the hangar,"I miss home. And technology. Real technology. If I survive this... definitely time to see what we can do about fixing that problem. But first..." she raises the carbine towards the door to wait patiently for the bang. For the moment after that flash when the team's not likely to expect that their opponent is not immobilized.
Lucy BANG! It's loud enough to make a person's head swim, enough that the world is muted all around Molly. It's bad enough to throw off hrequilibriumg but at least she isn't actually blind. The moment that she is waiting for comes quickly enough.

The Ops team is expecting Molly to be reeling but theyr'e still at least somewhat on guard. When she emerges gunfire begins immediately--- from the now exposed men who are attempting to rush the hallway during the period of disorientation from the bombs. Bullets shriek as they tears bits off the walls and narrowly avoidhitting Molly herself.
Rose Kolodny Molly Millions can compensate for muted in the short-term, it's more important to make sure that the aimed-high from on-low barrage catches her targets. They're not the only ones out there and she can't afford to be pinned down.

Already she is on the move once the bullets are flying, utilizing her greater speed and reflexes to carry her to them. Grenades. She wants. She has Dave's gun still, her fletchette, and the carbine, so she's less concerned about that.. but if they have a headset, that's on her scavengers agenda, trying to snatch what she can before the next lot come along to try and murder her.

Still in the back of her mind is that mental tally and the ferverent hope of Bogatyr's arrival, or at least somewhere she can hole up to wait for it.
Lucy Molly can feel the by now familiar sting of bullets hitting her. It's more intense, really, when they hit her body armour. Somehow that is still intact. In fact, the bullet that should still be imbedded in the fabric have disappeared entirely. The nanties are hard at work... THen Molly hits the first of the guards and he goes down in a spray of blood.

No one was expecting the raw violence of the razor girl's buitl in claws and there are two bodies on the ground in the space of a second. The third retreats, friing off a haphazard burst that misses entirely and screaming for backup. Molly is able to scoop up a couple of grenads from a pouch and retrieve a small earpiece before the hall is alive with gunfire again.

Worse yet the elevator has just touched down again in the background. As if at least three more weren't enough. IIf only this place didn't seem to almsot literally be made not to provide cover. There's another, smaller office for Molly to dug into for more cover, and at least four guards at the end of the hall.
Rose Kolodny No doubt the cameras are getting a great view. With the carbine's strap sacrificed for the good of getting the drives out there, the way she casts it practically at their feet no doubt caused some confusion before being followed up with that too fast instep and the slash of her blades up into the underside of the first one's throat. The pivot led by her knee and followed by scalpel sharp blades in the tender, barely protected flesh under the seconds arm before the second set wound up buried in his face.

At her speed, shoving the grenades into her vest and grabbing for the carbine and earpiece is safer than it would be if she wasn't wired, but the wild fire is one of those reminders that she doesn't have the luxury of time and has her springing in to the small office.

The earpiece, first. Communications are always good to have. The carbine's checked as she tries to breathe around the pain of her battered body and the already tatty combat armor. A couple of microseconds for peace before she reaches for one of the purloined grenades, muffled ears attuned towards the noise in the hallway.

"Three down... at least a dozen to go. Great odds, Moll. Doesn't matter... got the drives. Just stay breathin' until the girl and the tank get here and it'll all be gravy."
Lucy Now that the guards have seen what Molly can do it won't be nearly as easy. They are moving in tight units, occupying both sides of the hallway and firing in bursts. No more advancing willy nilly under presumed cover. They've got Molly boxed in and they are going to use that. The fighting is brutal. Chagrging forward again would be almost guaranteed to get Molly filled with more holes than even Lucy's nanites can manage to take care of.

The men are now boxing in the entrance ot that office. Two on either side of the door, others to either end of the hallway covering the doorway in a scene reminiscent of what it must have looked like when the Bolivian Army cornered Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Rose Kolodny Molly Millions eavesdrops on their comms as much as she pays attention to where their movement is outside of the room. It's not going to be pretty, she knows that. And indeed, that's part of why the carbine is set down and the grenades taken up. No point trying to shoot them in close proximity, and from the sounds of what's outside.. it's going to be /very/ close proximity.

A grenade is taken in either hand. Those lenses? They're designed to try and prevent her from being blinded, but in this case... sight isn't going to help her. The difference from the outside is not obvious but she waits with all the patience she can manage. The intention is simple; when they open the door, out will go the grenades. But she will wait where she is and let the chaos and confusion hopefully take a few of them out for them.

Without the necessity of typing she utilizes the anxious seconds to compose some short messages.

: : : Lucy - You are not a weapon. Be what you want to be. : : :

To Bog: : : : Kill them all. : : :

And even to John: : : : It was fun. : : :

Just in case. It's a short list, and short messages, but at least it's better than just sitting and waiting for death.
Lucy The doors are opened carefully. The grenades go out. There are warning shouts on the far side of the door and the sound of boots as people take off in all directions. A few seconds later explosions go off, rocking the hallway, filling the air with steel shrapnel- and everything falls into chaos. The lights begin to flicker. There are screams in the halls.

No one is coming in after Molly. The lights go out entirely. It's a good five seconds before the backup generators kick in. Only half the lights come back on with that. A way to signal an emergency and conserve power at the same time. Everything is shadowed weirdly now, in the light. There are no soldiers visible just outside the room.

That's when the gunfire starts up again in sporadic bursts.
Rose Kolodny Molly Millions waits for the flash before shifting the lenses back 'open' again. Into abject darkness. It's not much of an improvement. Chaos and screaming is an improvement in her book though. She grabs the carbine, refusing to leave Bogatyr's precision tooled instrument behind as she edges towards the door and peeks carefully around it with the gun held ready. Staying put is a bad move, but so is trying to avoid where her enemies might have scattered to for now.

"Here comes the cavalry." she whispers subvocally to herself, checking both ends of the hall before moving out in the direction of the elevator, it's a risk, but she doesn't exactly have back-up grenades to make a second go of shock-and-awe right now.
Lucy When Molly rounds the hallway toward the elevator the first thing she comes upon is Lucy, just abotu to come around the hallway in turn. At first she looks the same as always, a tiny blonde haired woman with wide blue eyes and a solemn expression, now wandering improbably in the hallways of a hidden corporate black site.

That's probably when Molly would notice the blodo on her clothing. Holes in her blouse. Lucy herself does not appear any worse for the wear, however. "...We need to go," the girl manages, though it's a shaky chatter. She's transmitting but it's fragmented, like something is interfering with her signal. It's never wavered before.

Lucy turns slowly, looking over toward the door then. She takes a few slow breaths, reaching out toward Molly with a small hand. She's shaking visibly at this point, fingers outstretched. "N-now. Retrieve the package."

Perhaps inexplicably Lucy isn't pulling Molly toward the elevator but instead back toward the Network Room. More inexplicably... Where did the special ops team members go?
Rose Kolodny It takes Molly a minute, because of course the first second she see's Lucy the razorgirl is sliding up to get herself next to the blonde and look for who to shoot,"You shouldn't be here." is what she breathes with anxiousness.

In it's own way, it's Molly's worst nightmare simply because Lucy, to her, needs reassurance, and at the same time Molly's hyper tuned to the possibility of death.

"I got them on the drone and sent them off." there is at least a moment of her reaching to grasp Lucy's hand for reassurance,"We're not alone down here Lucy. And there's no way out that way. Where's Bogatyr?"
Lucy "Bogatyr is outside dealing with their reinforcements," Lucy responds quietly. "The drone was being tracked. They have forces in the area so I... Had you send the wrong drives," she admits quietly. The girl flashes Molly an apologetic smile.

Lucy clings to Molly's hand and walks calmly through the hallway back to the Computer Operations Center. "We want drives two, four, and five." With this said she is going to gently tug the razorgirl with her into room before moving to retrieve the hard drives in question.

Still no guards. Where on earth did they go? "A lot of their reinforcements rerouted to retrieve the package. Bogatyr ambushed them."
Rose Kolodny Molly Millions's not pleased by that information, clearly. She does tug her hand loose, but largely so she can put it back on the carbine. The lack of guards now is creeping her out,"Good." she grunts with regards to Bogatyr, not electing to address any of the other information for the time being. Though her tone and the way her lips are pressed together tattle the tale of the razorgirl's irritation right now. She takes up position near the door, keeping her attention tuned outwards and deafeningly silent for now.
Lucy "I had to come down here and get you," Lucy responds to the silence for now. "I was going to explain what I was doing but we were disconnected," she continues quietly, perhaps to no one. "Since I was already almost here sending the drives out seemed unnecessary." There's honest contrition there, this side of an apology.

Lucy emerges with the drives and moves to stand beside Molly. She looks around slowly, blue eyes widening slightly as she considers everything surrounding her. She presses in close behind Moly and whispers aloud, "You did the hard part. I... Couldn't leave you."
Rose Kolodny "Dave, Lorelei, are you still okay?" Molly doesn't address what's eating her right now in favor of pointing out the presence of the two non-combatants,"Stay in here." she adds,"You'll be fine."

There's only the silvered lenses to reflect Lucy's expression back at her, strung taut as a bow as she steps away,"Let's go." is what she opts to say to the other cyborg in that same tightly-controlled and monosyllabic tone. For all that, there's no less care in making sure that Lucy is covered from any potential fresh arrivals.
Lucy Dave and Lorelei emerge from their hiding spots in order to look over toward Molly and Lucy. They are just staring at the wildly out of place girl following in Molly's wake.

They stay in the room and Lucy ignores them completely in favour of following Molly toward the elevators. In the dim lighting it still isn't immediately obvious what happened. Still, the room has a faintly copper scent to it, one that grows stronger as Molly walks through it. She's found the security team at least.

One of the security officers who had been holding the razorgirl at gun point is riddled with shrapnel from a grenade. He seems to have been dragged this far by the smears of blood only die where he lay. Another is similarly injured- but alive. For now.

Another has been taken apart. He was not merely dismembered but disassembled, like something tiny- or thousands of tiny things- and seen fit to tear pieces out of him and leave the remaining limbs and pieces strewn grotesquely into a corner.

Weirdly, the blood spatter seems to be from the shrapnel wounds. The dismantled man is- clean. Somehow.
Rose Kolodny The living one is aimed at, the clean and disassembled one mentally logged. It takes a second look from Molly even still, for all that she can't allow herself to worry about it overly for the moment. She doesn't give the one still alive a chance to surrender but plants a bullet in his head as she keeps moving.

"What kind of resistance is left above?" she elects to ask Lucy as they head towards the elevator, choosing to focus on them both reaching a place of safety before she's likely to address anything else for the moment.
Lucy "Unknown," Lucy responds simply. She takes a deep breath. The girl still ooks a little pale but she walks over to the elevator anyway. It's already spooling up apparently. The doors open as Lucy comes close to them and she steps inside without missing a beat. "Zero to four?" Then the pair are headed up toward the main level. Lucy takes Molly's cue and doesn't say another word. It likely noted that the maps don't update as the hatch oopens and wireless is presumably restored. No new red dots running about. WHich is... Implausible, at est.
Rose Kolodny There's that grunt of acknowledgment from Molly again as she steps into the elevator after Lucy, gesturing her towards the crates that what seems like a lifetime ago Molly was bleeding behind,"You shouldn't have come in here, Lucy. Your nanites wont make you immortal." at least, as far as the razorgirl knows. There's at least some concern in the side-long look that comes from the taller woman as her attention goes up towards the approaching hatch. From the way she adjusts her grip clearly preparing just in case it's more on the 'four' than the 'zero' side.
Lucy "Premise rejected," Lucy responds quietly. She moves to stand behind the crates as she was told. The girl's stony, quiet voice is firm again in Molly's mind and she takes a slow breath as she goes to cover. "Some things have a higher priority than survival." She takes another deep breath, shifting her weight from left to right. "Nanites provide resilience against small arms. isk was within manageable parameters." Which means Lucy is acknowledging obliquely that she could, in fac,t have died.
Rose Kolodny "Some things do." Molly agree's, and yet in the precision of those words there's probably a hint of her underlaying agitation. She raises the carbine as they begin to reach the level of the warehouse floor. Where they'd been trying to pry open the doors previously. The street samurai's attention diverting to work once more as she endeavors to establish the most efficient way out and keep an eye out for the likely to be unlucky recipients of her present aggravation.
Lucy It looks like the way out of the warehosue is clear. There's another disassembled body here, on the floor of the warehouse near the elevator. This time it stops on the warehouse level and the two women emerge near the front of the warehouse, surrounded by shipping containers. The massive loading door are shut but there is a person-sized hatch set into oen of them and it is through this door that the pair emerge outside and into the chaos of the night.
