Sinister Last night was difficult. But quiet comfort is a thing that is best had with no judgement and in a safe place. On the pillow in the morning, there is a single daisy, cut and laying there but no Sinister. However, there is a note: Come to the breakfast nook ~NE~

And there is a very distinctive smell, of toasted bread rolls and coffee on the air, wafting up to the loft space where sits the bedroom. Sin must have risen before the dawn and snuck out, because the brotchen smell -fresh-, which they are. There's more of them in the waxed paper bag from the bakery in the village nearby, just in case more are desired. It's a continental spread on a platter that was set out before the toasting and the percolating was done; cheeses, sliced in the delicatessen alongside cold cuts of various meats, nutella and whipped butter for the rolls and a man in a dressing gown and his fuzzy raven slippers, pouring a cup. "Morning, sweetheart."
Lucifer Lucifer reaches for the daisy as eyes open and he sits up to take on the new day. A brief scent given to the flower before he moves it to the nightstand and then reads the note. A barely there smirk lifts the corners of his mouth as he shifts to stand, pulls on his own crimson robe trimmed in black and toon devil slippers before heading downstairs.

Even without the note, one could just follow their nose and they would find who and what they were looking for. As the coffee is poured, Lucifer walks over and leans to nuzzle against Nathaniel, hands going to the man's waist. "Good morning, my dear. Where did you sneak off to that smells so divine?"
Sinister "Wolf bakerei konditorei, in the stadt. I got a few pastries for later too, with afternoon tea, unless you wanted to have a danish for breakfast," leaning in, a kiss is placed, palm rubbing at the small of the back with a smile on his face, serene and gentled. The coffee is held out with a nod, apparently it was for Lucifer and within is a splash of the hair of the dog that actually didn't bite last night, but well... it's always good to have a bit of irish in your joe. "And I picked up tschibo mild, from there too. We didn't have anything on hand here that felt like a fresh start."

The hand-rub becomes a full on hold and hipcheck, aiming to guide Luci toward the view of the incoming dawn in the breakfast nook. It's fingering the sky in tangerine and peach, with a splash of bubblegum pink and corn yellow, clouds painted on their underbellies with the pastel shades. "We have schwartzwalder schinken, smoked beef fillet, north atlantic salmon, veal bologne..." all gesturing to the meat cold cuts "...roasted turkey and emmenthal, boursin soft cheese, edam and a lovely little sheep cheese from austria that I couldn't resist. It's very creamy." And here's their bar stools to slip onto, as red eyes seek dark blues. "How are you feeling?"
Lucifer Lucifer accepts and returns the kiss, then takes the coffee, scenting the irish put into it and appreciates such a thing silently. He doesn't speak any more, and instead leads into taking a sip of the doctored coffee while listening to Nathaniel continue to list off the foods he has. A look is given out the window as the sunrise paints the sky. He blinks, sips coffee again, and then closes his eyes a moment to fight back emotion.

"All of that sounds delicious. I cannot wait to try some of it. We can save the pastries for tea, of course." He offers this gently, moving to set his coffee cup on the counter and then takes a breath. "I do not know how to answer how I am feeling. It's a mixed bag, I think. Though, I also feel as if I am mostly alright. That feels like it could also change at a moments notice." He pauses, picking up coffee to sip again. "I don't like how I feel right now in some ways."
Sinister "All of that is exceptionally valid. It was probably a stupid question to ask..." Nathaniel frowns at himself a moment, then reaches for the hand not occupied by coffee. Just curling fingers there, over compatriots with a squeeze and release. He reaches for the toasted bread rolls though, opening one up to make an open face smorgasboard with some of the veal and boursin, to start with. The mild flavours compliment each other with the herb in the cheese. "Just... don't follow my lead on dealing with this kind of thing, I burned everything to the ground. That would be problematic."
Lucifer "The only thing I wanted to burn...you stopped me from burning." Lucifer quips. "I do thank you for that. It was...highly emotionally charged rather than clearly thought out." He squeezes back the fingers that squeeze against his own and offers Nathaniel a smile. "I'll be alright, my dear. Just a moment in time." A passing phase, so to speak. The sun set on something that...well if Lucifer really thought about it he could likely come up with a dozen reasons why it wouldn't have worked.

The coffee is set down again so Lucifer can take up a roll, break it open and fill it with his own choices of meat and cheese. A sort of ecclectic selection all smoshed together and a generous bite taken from such.
Sinister The rolls are beautifully crusty and still taste freshly baked, because they were only out of the oven about half an hour ago. The effect of crusty roll and fresh deli is a very clean palate of taste. "You can always burn it later, when you're clear of mind... unless you're bound by oath not to. That's partly why I stopped you, you know. Just in case it would've meant you breaking your end of the deal. I don't know what the vampire's end was and never intended to ask." Eating his crusty goodness, he sets out a second with the smoked salmon and just rolls a bit of the beef up to have with it, around a slice of emmenthal.

As the light arrives more fully, he sips his coffee, glancing out over the village and lake. "Is it okay to profess my confusion in all this? After all that was worked through, this seems... I don't even know how to put it in words, other than...well... actually? Just plain stupidity."
Lucifer "I'm not bound to anything involving the clone that you made. That was part of your olive branch to Dracula, to help him feel safer.." Lucifer offers before taking another bite of the roll. "As far as I am concerned, the oath he and I had is broken any way. Gone. He broke his end..." Perhaps that is another part of where Lucifer's pain comes from. A broken oath. Finishing the first roll, he takes up his coffee to wash that last bite down.

"You and I share in that confusion. There was no indication... nothing said or brought up as a concern. It just...it was there and then it was gone. That's why I left so suddenly. It was like a knife in the chest...and I had to check. Had to know.." He explains this much more before shaking his head some. "Would it be alright if I asked for a change of subject?"
Sinister "Of course. I have already pushed far too much on that, but thank you for answering." Sip of coffee, another brief touch of the hand with his own. "I think we should stay here a few days. It's a good place to be at the moment, particularly when the sun sets." He smiles, looks over to the water again, gazes at the ripples on the lake. His focus fades out though, absent in the mind for a moment or two, brought back after the fade with a sniff and clear of the throat.

"I just had a report from off of the coast of Japan. One of my agents there seems to have found something strange going on in the pacific rift, which I'm not entirely sure should've been brought to my attention, other than I think they may have taken a look at my shorthands from the Savage lands. That's annoying and might need disciplining."
Lucifer Lucifer bows his head to the first bit that Nathaniel offers. "Of course. I have no intention of ever not answering you, my dear." This and then a smile at that brief touch of hand. When Nathaniel offers that they should stay here for a few days, there's a brief moment where Lucifer thinks to protest. Then he stops himself and smiles with a nod. "I think that sounds like a good idea over all."

A pause is given as he sees that absent look, however brief, and then watches as the man comes back here. When he explains why, Lucifer chuckles and shrugs. "Perhaps. Perhaps not. We were making notes that planar rifts are popping up all over, and it seems there's one for every main element. We've delt with earth and fire so far... missing wind and water." Pointing such a thing out, as obvious as it might be.
Sinister The smile is met with one of his own, chin dropped and looking under brows and then down to coffee. Lucifer's grins have a power after all. He twirls his finger around the light and the air of the place. "Only a couple of days, I promise you that. Just enough to be able to re-centre." After this though, he makes another roll this time with nutella and butter on it and reaches into the air, pulling a screen wide over the breakfast table out of the hologramatic matrix he's installed in all the residences. He taps it, flicks through a few files to the flashing one and taps the air there, pulling it open.

Map of the world, 'blip' off of Japan, along the fault line that runs parallel to the island nation. Seismographic readings pop up, that seem peculiar, in that they're cyclic and pulsing. Minor earthquakes deep underwater that are symmetrical. "Okay, I agree, that IS odd."
Lucifer Lucifer hasn't picked up another roll, or any other food, and it's likely he's not going to in the moment. Coffee is enough to keep him satisfied, and after another moment - while Nathaniel is pulling out that matrix to access world maps - he produces his cigarette case. One taken for himself, and then the case is offered to Nathaniel, his own cigarette lit with a snap of fingers and then offered to Nathaniel should he have taken a smoke. Inhaling deep before he exhales softly.

When the map comes up in full and he notices the readings, the earthquakes that are symmetrical and other such things. He frowns and shakes his head a little. "We're going to need John's help sooner than we thought, aren't we?"
Sinister "Actually, yes," cigarette taken, lit, dragged upon and exhaled out of the corner of his mouth, Sin frowns at that. "Before the human world gets all confused about that and starts doing something stupid. That..." he indicates the fault line, drawing along it on the map with the cigarette and making it light up. "...intersects with the asian techtonic plate. It makes earthquakes off of the coast of japan a very common thing and they have tsunamis on a regular basis because of it. Unfortunately, the last time there was a significant quake there..." He taps the mainland of Japan and brings up Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, way back in 2011. "That was over twenty years ago and they're still screwed up for the fallout. The hot zone is still active -- part of me rather loves nuclear disasters, but a lot of me does not. What mutates genes in these cases is rarely positive."

He looks over at Lucifer and back to the map. "Unless we know of any other madhat magicians that can be persuaded to almost kill themselves on a regular basis. Do we? And more to the point, do we actually like them at all?"
Lucifer Lucifer takes another drag off his cigarette and gives Sinister the side-eye. "You're assuming I like John to begin with." He quips, but there's a grin, cause of course he's kidding. Kinda. "Also no. Not really. Might have been once upon a time ago but they're long gone now." He answers the last question seriously. "Alright then... perhaps he can go diving into the ocean while we go questing through lava. We'll have to catch him up to speed on what we've got going as a working theory." He pauses. "Listen to me prattle on. Sorry love. I'm sure you know all these things and I'm just stating the obvious."
Sinister "Bollocks, I do." Sinister replies, with a side-grin, shaking his head. Ash is flicked, gathers in a little ball and hovers as he takes another drag of his smoke, hoiking be'slippered feet up on the rungs of the barstool he sits on. "We will, yes. Although, I sort of feel like I need to be brought up to speed, also. This is extremely out of my comfort zone, to be fair -- magic is very new to me, even extraplanar intrusion magic." He exhales, tips his head back with a groan, then shakes his mane of straight hair into a mad windswept, though it doesn't last. Straight is what we're going to stay as.

"Constantine confuses me. I'm sure that there's a logic to him giving me the time of day, but I think that mostly resides in you being you and him being the Hellblazer. I /do/ know that he thinks I'm good for you, which is a surreal thing to comprehend. And I'm not sure I like him, so much as I think I'm somewhat fond and he quietly outstrips my knowledge on a regular basis, whilst somehow also sounding like a complete loon."

He glances at Lucifer after this, presses lips together and then lifts his chin. "You and I, we need to cultivate more useful individuals, I think. Between us, I'm certain we can pull up a small team of go-to magicians."
Lucifer "From what little I know...these planes, these dimentions that John can access and I know of, are really just sources of power for magic as a whole. Especially for those who practice more ritualistic magic. A lot of rituals ask that you pay homage to the elements. Fire, Air, Earth, Water. Sometimes Spirit and...uhm...one other..but.." Lucifer waves a hand cause he forgets. "And that's about the extent of my knowledge that I know is truth. There are rumors and speculations of like, each realm having guardians or protectors, and such, but...I...can't really say one way or the other." This much more explained and then he shrugs.

"You know, we've been meaning to go back to the Magic Box in Sunnydale. Your friend Giles is a magician right? That Willow chick is definitely one... and I'm sure they know others. It's that or we find a Circle and see if we can gain the trust of it, and I don't like that option. I'd rather it be people who are already familiar with us."
Sinister Listening attentively to the explanation of the elemental planar magics and their guardians, Essex considers the archangel he sits across from, with his head tilted just so. "Considering that the symbol for you is the symbol for magic itself in many practices, I shall take what little you know and consider it to be vastly greater in importance than you deem it to be." There's a crooked grin with that, because seriously. How many mages made deals with the devil in folklore and that whole mess of witches and warlocks in Salem. Mysticism and Lucifer go hand in hand. But then there's the Scoobies...

"I did my research, Willow is definitely connected. She, Buffy Summers, Rupert Giles, Xander Harris, they all attended or were teachers at Sunnydale high," Nathaniel replies, considering with careful attention. "Do you think we should work on Willow? She's been to Lux before, there's definitely something, she has technomagic also, which was quite fascinating -- it reminded me of myself, only from a different source. I feel like I could understand that." He is quiet a moment, but then adds another two cents worth. "I'm not keen on that option, but I think we should still keep an eye open. Cultivating possibilities is what makes actualities in the long run. It may cost us very little now, for a potential harvest in the future. I think I shall examine some of the outcasts and their ... friends a little closer."
Lucifer "Yes well... even as tied to it as I may be, my other ties seem to make things a bit...wonky...for me." Lucifer offers. Meaning his religious ties to Christianity. He still has his part to play there after all. Finishing his cigarette, he'll disinigrate it - as he always does - and will do the same for Nathaniel when he proffers his smoke over.

"I believe we have a good starting foundation. I also believe we might need John's help, and then after getting his assessment...we can see about expanding. We'll also need to figure out what we can do with the sub back at the Savage Lands..." Lucifer offers and then he stops himself. "For now, however, I think we're find with just... relaxing and centering ourselves here for a couple of days. Like you said. Put away work and...emotional stress..for the time being. Enjoy ourselves. How about I treat us to a spa day and lunch? Or maybe even a movie? A date. We should go on a date. I think that will be nice." And he'll not care what the date involves, just that they go on one.
