Leon Kennedy Bludhaven Savings and Loan is proud to be a local bank that supports small businesses, and truly gives back to the community, like Enjoy a Hot Dog on Us Day, where the bank had rented portable hot dog vending equipment, tables, chairs, red and white linens, balloons, as people could come to the event, receive a free hot dog, non-alcoholic drink, and some French fries, but mostly it's all about the hot dogs. Just don't ask what's in them. Not even the accounts know that.

There was a lot of signage, because the bank had put this on, with brochures, hoping to garner people's business, personal and private, whatever they had. Music was playing in the background, Summer Holiday by Cliff Richard, which was suitably cheerful for such an event.

There was a long line of people to get their free food, while others were enjoying the sun and tables set out for them to eat at, while others left. There was even a soft serve ice cream machine. Perfect place for a monster, right?
Buffy Summers Buffy was never one to turn down free food. Even when it was hot dogs. No one knew what was in them. That was always the weirdest thing. When she had gotten them from the store, they were a mix of meats or All Beef which was apparently important. She'd seen movies that stated they were lips and buttholes. Cooked in a pan on the stove or microwaved? She'd lean toward lips and buttholes. Cooked with fire no a grill? Then it went torward ambrosia, the food of the gods. Not real gods. At least, she didn't think it was. She'd have to ask a god she knew about that.

She had her little box with the red and white check paper in it, hot dog and fries settled within. The drink which had been a cola for her was in the other hand.

She glanced around at the crowd, scanning and listening to her inner sixth sense to see if anything stood out. Right now, it seemed monster free! Bonus!

She hadn't expected any vampires for obvious reasons in the form of the sunlight shining on the gathering. But there could always be something else. She moved toward an opening at one of the tables.
Leon Kennedy Leon Kennedy had been in the queue, though about a dozen people behind Buffy, so it would take him more time to get his food. Slowly but surely, the line moved, with each happy customer. When he finally reached the front, he was asked whether he'd like his bun toasted or untoasted, "oh, it's got to be toasted." The 'cook' nodded his head, "absolutely, I couldn't agree with you more."

With the temperatures on those grills, it didn't take long to toast a bun at all. Soon, he had been handed a plain hot dog, toasted bun, on a paper plate, given some French fries, a cold can of cola, and was going through the condiments table, adding a light line of mustard, a similar amount of ketchup, and finally, mayonnaise to complete the hot dog.

The condiments sunk into the pre cut gaps in the hot dog, which had been done to soak up the smokey flavor. And with his food ready, he would look around for a place to sit and eat. And then he saw a face he recognized, though was it a friendly one, or just an acquaintance?
Buffy Summers Her hot dog had been completed with mustard, ketchup and a little relish. Some people added other things like mayo or diced onions. She was very picky and more than what she had, Buffy would never eat the thing.

She was sipping from her soda when she saw the familiar figure of Leon. And realized her monster sense hadn't been triggered. Finally, she had her answer. Still didn't explain why the guy knew what was and wasn't a comfortable sewer to be in unless he was a serial killer.

Or maybe--and more likely--he worked for the city in the sewers? Or had worked in the utilities field at some point.

She raised her hand and waved to him, giving a smile. Which may be an opportunity for him to join her at the table if he wanted.
Leon Kennedy Some women will smile all day as they receive compliment after compliment, or otherwise positive attention. For men, they smile when they think of a time long ago where they received positive attention by a woman that is not a relative. For Leon, this may become one of those days, for Buffy Summers has waved to him, and given him a smile.

He took it as an opportunity to join her at the table, placing his paper plate on the tablecloth and took a seat, though he did it in a bit of an unusual way, something akin to William Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation, the way he sort of brought a leg over the chair to take the seat.

"Hello Buffy, how're the hot dogs? They smell delicious, even if they probably are probably lips and buttholes."
Buffy Summers "No, these are actually cooked with fire. All caveman style."

Admittedly, Buffy was kind of pleased deep down that someone else knew the reference. Considering the movie was out long before she was born. It might've been before her mother was born. But she'd seen it on Netflix at some point and that line stuck out, even if she couldn't remember the name of the movie.

"So they taste good. That's the only way these things are edible. Well, unless you're a college student. Then microwave hotdogs and pre-packaged ramen are all you eat." And somehow not die despite there being minimal nutritional goodness in the ramen. Real ramen was different. Buffy probably would be confused by real ramen. If it wasn't the consistency of cardboard then turned into noodles when hot water was added, it was out of her exprience.

"Haven't seen you in a while. Hope you are doing well."
Leon Kennedy Grunting for dramatic effect, Leon replied, "Me Leon like fire. Make food taste good-er." If people hadn't watched the works of Dan Akroyd and John Candy, then it was their loss to correct someday.

"I had a friend at college who swore Mac and Cheese was its own food group. He liked Annie's brand, and was very loyal to it. I never tasted a difference, it was all yellow plastic to me. I think the acids in my stomach are still trying to break it down." And he banged a fist against his chest for added emphasis.

Then he took his first bite of the fire cooked hot dog, and well, he made sounds of pleasure. This was the nectar of the gods.
Buffy Summers That earned a quick giggle from Buffy as he went all caveman. But it really was a thing. There was something about cooking with fire. But she didn't have that gene. Though she could cook some things. Just not on the grill very well. She needed to learn more about that.

"Mac and cheese is it's own food group. Right up there with Rice Krispie treats. Although for us it was Kraft brand. Blue box. We ate it all the time as kids so it's a favorite."

She picked up her hot dog. "You're just weird." And that summed it up. "What've you been up to?"
Leon Kennedy "It's the fire. It caramelizes the meat. Makes it better. Some people like propane, but there's nothing quite like a charcoal grill." He really needed to get a charcoal grill. Though he rarely seemed to spend much time at home, would it be worth it?

"Mac and Cheese, Rice Krispy treats, what are the other food groups then?" He wiggled his eyebrows in contemplative thought. Upon being called weird, he shrugged, "weird stuff, in weird places, at weird times, you know, the usual. You?"
Buffy Summers "Same." That fit her life so well. Weird. It was a good summation of what it was like to live as a Slayer. Nothing was ever normal. After all, she was missing the last two years of her life for some reason she had yet to figure out. And she spent last night sitting in a graveyard, waiting for a fresh 'kill' to rise back up after his funeral. He's been an easy dusting but still had to be done.

"Once I went to college, ramen became a food group. Pizza is the third food group. And sugar is the fourth. In any form. So I guess now there are five food groups though I'm not in college right now."
Leon Kennedy "Who would have thought we had so much in common... and so many differences. I like well, food, with nutritional value. I know, but I'm a creature of habit. My body needs substance to survive." How was she so thin and had such good teeth if she really ate like that all the time? Maybe she practically lived in a gym."

"What did you take in college?" He didn't know much about her, but whatever she studied might give an idea for what she does for a living.
Buffy Summers Go Go Slayer Powers! The ability to maintain that figure because her body stayed physically fit automatically. Though honestly, she ate like that before she was a Slayer. It had something to do with youth perhaps. Or that mixed with good genetics.

"That's a really good question." Odd way to start the answer to such an easy one. "I sort of have a memory issue at the moment. So what I remember was my first semester of my freshman year. Part of my second semester. Then it's sort of gone. So I moved back home for now while I try to figure things out. I may have to start over or take a different direction."
Leon Kennedy His eyes narrowed momentarily, a mixture of curiosity and concern. He was still eating, chewing his hot dog, or French fries, while talking. "I'm sorry. Can anything be done?" He was sure she'd be following her doctor's advice.

"At least you're young. Easier to start over that way." He really didn't want to pry, but he was intensely curious at the same time.
Buffy Summers Buffy shrugs, though it was more one-shoulder as opposed to a full shrug. "I just go with the flow. It is one of the few life lessons I've managed to figure out at this point." More a Slayer lesson but it applied to life too. Expect the unexpected was the rule.

"They aren't sure why and no telling if I'll get them back. They're still trying to figure it out, see if there is some...treatment." Made it sound like a medical or doctor thing that way. She finished off her hot dog.

"You want the rest of my fries? I need to get going."
