Owner Pose
Buffy Summers When Willow had made the offer to allow Buffy to take some of her shifts at the Magic Box, Buffy had jumped at the chance. But now? Now she was beginning to wonder if food and shelter was really that important. Since that was why people worried about making money. To be able to afford those things. Admittedly, she had them with her mother but she did want to get out of the house. Maybe into her own place. And despite Spike mentioning he could set her up in her own crypt, with all the amenities since he had set his up with electricity and the like, she had opted against that. Because Ew.

She was sitting on a stool behind the counter, a book in front of her that she was flipping through. Not reading. Just flipping the pages and looking at the pictures. Why? Because she managed to run her battery down completely and couldn't use her phone.
Willow Rosenberg Making a big todo of entering the store, Willow came in with a smile on her face.

"I was wondering, do you have sage?"

No. No they did not. But Willow was dragging up their first year of University, when they only thing she could afford, as a treat, was sage. She still had a weakness for that herb. And since she left go of some of her shift at the Magic Box, she kinda felt as though she had moved on.

And that didn't feel good, all of a sudden.

"Hey Buffy! I just finished my information week at Colombia, and got my first assignment as a teaching assistant. I'm kinda scared. How are you?"
Buffy Summers "Wil!" And just like that, Buffy is happy again. Because it's her bestie. Although in truth, the way this afternoon had gone, she might've reacted with happiness no matter who entered. Though admittedly, it was far better because it was Willow.

"That's wonderful! You'll knock 'em dead. I mean, not literally cause...y'know. Bad. But you will do great! Remember when you used to take over the classes in high school? This is just like that. Only older. And more experience."
Willow Rosenberg Willow crinkles her nose. "Really?"

She leaned across the desk where they kept the cash register. "But back then, I was just watching the class while the teacher wasn't there. And most of the other kids really didn't like me. I mean, most of them pretended that they couldn't understand me. The teacher was just happy that they stuck in the classroom till the bell rang."

"The guys are going to expect me to know something. And besides that, I don't really look like a grad student. I don't even look like a high school senior! Ugh! What is happening in your life? I was wondering if you thought about - you know - what to do expect over the next.. year? Staying with your mom? ..Or?"

The 'or' sounded like a bigger question than she made it out to be.
Buffy Summers "Students aren't supposed to like their teachers. It messes up the whole dynamic," Buffy says as she closes the book she was leafing through and setting it over to the side. It was something about witchcraft but well above anything she could understand.

"You know lots of things, Wil. Always have. You're smarter than most of the teachers. Except maybe Giles. And he wasn't really a teacher."

She gave a little shrug as the question was posed. "I'm not sure. Was thinking about trying to go back to college. But it doesn't appeal as much now that you're not going to be in classes with me. If that makes sense? Figure maybe get a second job to help add to the money from this one. And from there get an apartment. Cause while it's nice being at home with Mom and Dawn, I feel like one of those people that get made fun of for not getting out of the house when they grow up."
Willow Rosenberg Willow had to nod, as she thought about that. "It's not so much that I was smarter than them.." But really? She had nothing to follow. She was smarter than them - by a longshot. In fact, she was thumbing through her course syllabuses, and a good half of them were way beneath her.

"Okay. So I am smart." Grumbles. "I won't be able to hide behind everyone else anymore. It's kind of scary."

As she listens to Buffy's plans, "I was thinking of moving out myself and giving the apartment to the boys. Let them have their privacy." And to ask Buffy if she wanted to move back again. Really that was the plan.

But now that she was here, she was frightened.

What if Buffy had grown out of her friendship? What if having a boyfriend - albeit in the past, and she couldn't remember him - changed her perspective on needing her privacy? What if''

And a thousand reasons came tumbling out in her brain, which stopped her from asking.
Buffy Summers "Where would you go?" Buffy asks immediately. "I mean, I figure you don't want to go back home either. Although Mom would probably be fine with you moving in with us. But then again, I'm wanting to move out."

And Buffy takes that to the proper conclusion, without even realizing that Willow had been about to ask the same thing. "We can probably find another place. Together. If you wanted to, that is. I mean, move in together and figure it out again. I know that I don't remember everything but I also know that you have kind of moved beyond the whole Scoobies thing." She grinned. "Miss Justice League!"
Willow Rosenberg "As if!" Willow rolls her eyes.

"They don't need me very often. Most of the time I just take my regular shift at the WatchTower. Did you know that there's a pamphlet with the same name as the WatchTower? Really there is!"

Then she hurries on past to the real meat.. or is her case, potatoes, of the actual discussion. "We could live in the same building.. Or not! I could move. As long as I could get transport to my jobs and classes."

And in a quieter voice, "I never grew out of the Scoobies. They just didn't need me when you weren't yourself. And I've stayed back waiting on you to figure out what was up and what was down."
Buffy Summers "I wish I knew what happened during that time, when I wasn't me."

And that has Buffy frowning a bit. "I don't understand why I would ever be that way toward you. Or anyone else in the Scoobies. It makes no sense to me. Without any sort of outside source causing it."

She bit her bottom lip a moment as she considered. "I get that Thomas is supposedly nice. I haven't found where he's been hunting or anything." Because she has been keeping tabs, to see if he was hurting people. But he had not. Though she had seen a certain other slayer lurking around his bar. "So that leaves me going what the heck. Someone or something had to cause me to be that way. Wonder if it is the same as whoever is behind what happened to me this time? But to what purpose? Were they trying to get me away from you guys? Then do this so I had no one to go to maybe?"
Willow Rosenberg Willow has no easy answers for Buffy.

"I don't know. You seemed to be okay with the more.. mature.. members of the Scoobies." She cringes as she says it, and bows her head that she didn't have to see how close she was.
Buffy Summers That got a puzzled look from Buffy and she then just shook her head. "Nope. No. Not even going to think about it. I don't know what happened that I decided being Monster Chow was the answer to that particular problem. It doesn't sound like me. At all." That furrowed brow again. "Don't get me wrong. Obviously I can fall for someone that isn't quite human." They both knew her history. "But that one just seems off to me."

She shrugged. "Anyway! Apartment! Yes! Same building, another place in the middle between here and Columbia, as long as there is public transportation I can take."
