Owner Pose
Jax     It's not an unusual sight to see students working on mechanical or engineering projects in the garage. Indeed, a whole pile of assorted parts and junkyard frames are available for just that purpose. In here, the mechanically gifted or the technically minded can tinker to their heart's content, create a practical project vehicle to keep, and earn credits for the mechanic's course to boot. It's a triple win! Among this number are students young and old... the younger learning the ropes, the older assembling a vehicle they hope may pass inspection for their driving lessons. After all, what sixteen year old wouldn't like to own their own car as soon as they pass the driving test?

Among the number of tech savvy and budding mechanics can often be found the actual owners of the vehicles in the garage, performing some minor maintenance themselves on their own mechanical steeds. Changing oil, changing brake pads, fixing an AC or wiring fault... most drivers in the school are perfectly self sufficient in that regard.

Certainly not falling into any of these categories is Jax, whose attempts at automotive repair and maintenance is limited to carefully unscrewing the oil drain plug, letting the old oil drain, carefully reseating the drain plug and then dumping the recommended amount of oil into the engine... usually while wearing a pristine white coverall with thick gloves so his fur doesn't get dirty. He doesn't even change his own oil filter...

So it makes little sense for the cat mutant to be in the garage, smeared with oil and grease, covered in bandaids in dozens of places, amid a pile of assorted car parts. His trusty Jeep stands forlorn in the stall, half stripped and looking like it was pummeled by the Hulk. Surrounding him are two piles of parts... a small, teetering pile, and a larger tottering pile.
Kit Killovarras A loud roar from an engine would herald the approach of a particular individual from outside as the Yeen comes down the road towards the school and within a few minutes, one of the outer doors of the garage opens to let him and the motorcycle he's on in. In a place like this, it's hard to identify anything by smell, so he genuinely looks surprised when he sees Jax sitting there all 'oiled up' and bandaged, though the look of surprise quickly becomes a little snerk and a playful grin as he muses, "Would it be bad for me to say you look adorable like that?"

He's gotten fairly used to driving it seems and even the motion of him setting the kickstand and cutting the engine seems to be something he can do without really having to think about it.

He takes a moment to look at the... Well, that was a Jeep, once.. "Umm.. Dare I ask how this wound up happening?" he asks, cocking his head slightly to one side.
Jax     The rumble of that engine is unmistakable... that is most definitely the bike he gifted Kit, so Jax keeps on working without looking up. Right now he's peering intently along the length of a cylinder head, rotating it every so slowly as if looking for something... and considering damage to the cylinder head would be immediately apparent without close inspection, he probably doesn't know what he's looking for at all.

As expected, he sticks out his tongue at Kit when told he's looking cute like that, but the blush in his ears is fairly obvious as well. Honestly, he does look adorable like that, and knowing him some of those bandaids are purely cosmetic. The one across his nose almost certainly is.

With great care, he puts down the cylinder into the smaller pile, along with four of its brethren. The sixth is just discernable in the larger pile, with an obvious groove worn through the side. "Long story, but it involves a mystery woman, a man that turned out to be a robot, a car chase, a shootout, an attempted murder, and the police arresting me and impounding my car."

Which is an answer which only raises more questions!
Kit Killovarras The yeens ears perk up a little before he just gives a little shrug and hops off the bike, walking over to look at the two piles of parts before giving a slight whistle. "Damn, This thing got battered to hell and back.." he says with a sigh, then leans down as he's pulling off his armored coat and helmet, (Yes, he is a safe driver.. Most of the time) setting them aside before leaning down to nuzzle at Jax's shoulder gently, asking, "Want a bit of help? You look a bit like a lost kitten with these.." with a playful little chuckle.
Jax     An arm reaches up to hug Kit and return that nuzzle, which inevitably means smearing some oil and grime from his own fur into the yeen's. There, marked! And then he indicates the floor and the tools nearby. "Please, 'cause I got no idea what I'm doing here."

There, it's out in the open. And it seems like that's leading to another insight Jax is having only just now, but it's skipped over in favor of looking out over the herculean task still ahead. "Mister Guthrie had a look at it, and the frame's apparently bent, so yeah... it's a write-off. I mean, it was two years old, so time for a new one anyway, and the plates survived. I wanna donate it to the school, but Mister Guthrie said that I need to strip it down and put all the good parts in one pile, and the bad parts in another." Ah. That explains the mechanical jigsaw. "By noon, tomorrow."
Kit Killovarras Kit stands up after the hug and the nuzzle, giving a look to the frame before he gives a little sigh and grins, shaking his head slightly before he muses, "What Mr. Guthrie doesn't know yet, is that the frame's not exactly a write off.." Then he gives a glance to Jax and gives a little bit of a wink before he adds, "Wanna see something cool?" almost looking like he's about to do something that MIGHT be construed as cheating on a test...
Jax     "He did say he'd have someone work on the frame to straighten it out..." Jax begins, but he's sharing that same look with Kit. It's not cheating if they're doing it!

Besides, as he was sitting here slowly turning the Jeep from one piece into much smaller pieces, what he'd realised was this... in a team, you don't need to know how to do everything. All you need to know is who can do what, and trust in them to do it without trying to interfere. There's mutants that can easily fix that frame. There's probably mutants aplenty that can take this jeep apart in the blink of an eye. His job, as he sees it, is not to do this himself, but to trust other people to help him do it. Because stripping a whole Jeep solo in less than a day is impossible without some kind of superpower.

Magic, he's certain, absolutely qualifies. So he grins at Kit and then raises an eyebrow. "Amaze me, oh grand magician."
Kit Killovarras Kit just smiles and nods, musing, "My pleasure." as he walks over towards the frame, his claws slowly starting to glow with that tell-tale violet energy of his as he strokes his paw over the damaged frame, coating it in what looks like an almost liquid version of that same violet light. It takes him a little while to get the entirety of the damaged areas 'painted', but he does manage it and then?

The sound of straining metal slowly starts to ring, the groans of the frame being 'mended' by the flow of energy passing through it as the yeen almost silently whispers something in what sounds like ancient Sumerian, though to an untrained ear it might just sound like jibberish.

Eventually, the frame seems to bend itself back to the point of looking... Almost brand new! One of the Yeens gifts has always been to mend things, but it looks like he's somehow gotten much, much better at it than he was the last time Jax would have seen this particular ability of his.

After a moment he relaxes and looks back to Jax with a smile and his ears perked up, though even if he seems happy, he also looks a little more exhausted than he did just a few moments ago too. "Now, let's see about those parts, hmm? I'll help you figure out which ones are busted and need to be replaced."
