Jean Grey A long weekend had recently come to an end and kids had come milling back to the school amid rumours of an unidentified flying object or two, having been spotted flying over Westchester County. As if that wasn't bad enough, a small number of Jean's younger students had gone missing. After discussing the issue with Logan and seeking help in finding them, she had decided there was nothing more to do than retire for the night.

She hadn't seen Scott at all that day, but that's to be expected, given he's the field leader. A large responsibility means less time together sadly, which means she arrives home at their shared cottage alone..

The late night finds her curled up on the sofa, reading a long and boring novel by candlelight as she waits for him to return..
Scott Summers It had been a long day in addition to his duties as field leader he was also director of admissions. His day when not in class was spent going over prospects for the school. Finally returning home he takes off his coat heads up the stairs and flops on the couch next to Jean placing a hand upon her thigh. "Hey Love how was your day?" He asks with a warm smile as he gets comfy.
Jean Grey Jean Grey senses him before he even walks through the door. As Deputy, she is second in command, both at school and on the field. Her job is stressful enough, but his is far busier. She smiles happily as he arrives, curling up against him. "Scott! Your home finally! You wouldn't believe the day I had.." but of course his wellness is always her priority and she pulls back to look at him thoughtfully, stroking his face gently, "I hope you didn't work yourself too hard.."
Scott Summers Scott Summers laughs and kisses Jean tenderly pulling her closer to his body. "Mmm....I've done alright. And I never work myself to hard, but I believe I would believe the kind of day you've had." He says with a chuckles. "But please do tell me about ut."
Jean Grey Jean Grey sighs, nuzzling against him, climbing into his lap. She seems tired, one way or the other. "Mm, I'm happy to tell you all about it, but first, tell me how your day was. You must have been pretty busy.." she reaches up to gently caress his face, the faintest tingle of fiery energy erupting from her fingertips. Clearly he is her priority.
Scott Summers Scott Summers smiles and holds her close and tight running his fingers up and down her thighs. "It was fine Jean, some classes, some admissions paper work, developing a new training schedule for the team, the usual really."
Jean Grey Jean Grey nods and chuckles, "Well your day was certainly less executing than mine, sweetheart.." she sighs, closing her eyes as she leans her head against his chest. It feels so good to be there, almost makes her forget her worries, "Hmm, well I heard rumours of an unidentified flying object being spotted over Westchester County..That's a pretty big area, but Logan and I did a scout of the Xavier grounds and came up empty handed, which is a good thing of course, but.." her frown deepens, still troubled by something, clearly.
Scott Summers Scott Summers brow raises clearly above those Ruby Quartz shades of his. "You went scouting with Logan? And the Animal came up with nothing, not surprising from a man who relies on animal instincts." He says with. chuckle. "But go on I know there's more my love."
Jean Grey Jean Grey grimaces a bit, "Why, Scott, that's a bit harsh, calling him an animal..Actually, I took to the skies while he took the ground, the grounds are safe..However, three of my students did not show up for class today. I checked in with their parents and they haven't seen them in the past 24 hours. Of course I did a psychic scan of the grounds and found nothing.."

She sighs, gripping his hands tightly! "Scott, I feel like I let them down somehow, those three were always troubled, rebellious, and they're not even quite 12 years old..I know there was a snowstorm the other night and in addition to the ufo sightings, that has me more than worried.." and clearly she blames herself.
Scott Summers Scott Summers shakes his head. "Oh come on Jean, he's a loner, never a big team player, prefers to rely on brute strength, animalistic instincts, and temper than use his head." He says honestly. "That's all the traits of a wild animal. As for the students, Jean you didn't fail them, we will launch another search tomorrow maybe get some of the X-Men in on it." He softly kisses her cheek.
Jean Grey Jean Grey shrugs, "To be honest, I feel a bit sorry for him.." but that's neither here nor there. She has other issues to worry about right now, anyway. "Well, if I was able to get through to them, maybe they wouldn't have done something so foolish in the first place..I just hope he's okay.." she nods and smiles, reaching up to run her fingers along his lips, "Thank you, I feel calmer alread..Really, I need a good distraction to take my mind off of things.." she smiles, nuzzling against his neck. "I'll worry about them tomorrow - I'm sure the Xmen will find them soon.."
Scott Summers Scott Summers smiles and holds Jean tight. "Like the Professor you have a knack for feeling sorry for and taking in the strays." He teases. "Jean we can only do so much we can't get through to every one....but that said we will find them and we will bring them home, I promise you my beloved." He whispers just holding Jean close and tight gently tickling her sides to try and help lighten her mood.
Jean Grey Jean Grey giggles a bit, "Ohh Scott, are you still mad that I adopted all those stray kittens over summer? I DID promise no more strays, didn't I?" she smiles and winks playfully at him, "All the same, you would think that a psychic could figure out the minds of a bunch of rebellious pre-teens..Even if I promised not to get inside anyone's heads without their permission..Not even your's if you don't wish it.." even though they both share a psychic link, did he ever regret it..?
Scott Summers Scott Summers laughs and shakes his head. "As long as it's not Logan you're adopting I think it's OK love." He teases kissing and nipping at her neck. "Ah but without using your powers can you truly get in their heads? As for me mine is open for you to read any time you wish, I regret nor hide a thing from you."
Jean Grey Jean Grey laughs and shakes her head, "Oh I have intentions of adopting a full frown man who can more care for himself. I have eyes only for you, love.." she sighs, stroking his hair thoughtfully, "Hmm, as much as I love using my powers, it feels like I'm cheating when I peer inside someone's mind without their permission.." she tilts her head curiously at him, "But I wonder, are you sure you don't regret mind linking with me? Surely even you have thoughts you would prefer to keep secret from me.."
Scott Summers Scott Summers shakes his head and kisses her gently. "I have nothing I'd want to keep secret from you. Go ahead have a look inside, maybe you can help me figure things out." He chuckles and winks at her. "Honestly I want you to look into my mind now."
Jean Grey Jean Grey smiles, pressing her lips softly against his, "Mmm, and yet, now your sharing your thoughts not just wuth me, but with The Phoenix as well.." she pulls back again, peering at him thoughtfully, "Are you really okay with that?"
Scott Summers Scott Summers smiles and nods his head. "Of course I am, You are the Phoenix and the Phoenix is you." He says sincerely. "So do it Jean, no second thoughts my love, I want you, all of you to know."
Jean Grey Jean Grey nods, "Very well...But you know I feel bad intruding on your deepest thoughts." she reaches out to frame his face with her hands on either side, drawing a deep breath before closing her eyes. And then she delves into his thoughts. How deep does she dare to go? Maybe slightly deeper than surface thoughts, yet fearful of delving deeper than that. Even Scott has a right to his own, secret thoughts, and at least for now, she leaves those alone at least.
Scott Summers Scott Summers smiles as he feels her enter his mind. "I want to Marry Jean...once she's ready....truly the one true love of my life...no other holds a candle to her." It's this words Jean hears over and over no matter how deep she goes.
Jean Grey Jean Grey had grown increasingly worried as the days passed by and the three missing kids had not returned. Of course she had done her homework, scanning as much of the nearby area without leaving the school which she was loathe to do with reports of strange lights in the sky. Added to the fact that a certain giant blue alien had recently come searching the same skies for signs of a rogue Cree alien which he had a bounty on and the stakes just got that much higher.

It didn't take long to contact Kate, Billy and Jane's parents and ascertain their last known location was in the mountains of Westchester county, they had talked of going on a hiking trip, two 11 year olds and a thirteen year old. Still so young, so inexperienced and not the most powerful students out there alone, amidst reports of ufos and the like.

So here they are, a select number of Xmen who were sent to locate them and bring them home safely..But even though winter is nearing it's end elsewhere, a particularly brutal snowstorm sweeps through the mountain trails, growing more violent the higher up they go.
Spider-Man Go the woods they said, it would be fun they said, well okay no-one said the last part, but it has been a while since Spidey has left the comforts of his city as he looked at the snow covered forest he sighed abit looking at the other X-folk that had brough him along. "So I hope someone remembered the smores." he says with a grin looking at the people arouind him. He was dressed in his normal Spidey outfit though he had grabbed the long Spidey=Roos for this one to stay warm in the cold.

He shivered a bit already, not really cold just his body telling him how cold it was going to get so shivers in anticipation. As he grins at them, he shakes his head with a sigh, "Hey you don't have to laugh at these.. I am just trying to break.. the ice?" he asks eyeing them again with a grin as he just couldn't help to crack jokes.
Rogue Rogue had heard a little bit about something here and there. Birdies and their rumors, one cannot trust anything anymore. Besides, she hasn't been on a proper mission in a while so it was good to get out and help where help was needed. The snowstorm is something else and Rogue is quite happy that her uniform is pretty much spandex and then whatever else she decides to throw on on top of that.

"Well this sure as hell ain't the Tippah Hills..." Saying this much as she looks to her fellow X-Men likely wondering just how bundled up they're all going to need to get if what's already blowing is any indication.

Then there's a pointed look at Jean before asking, "You want me ta fly around and try ta get a lay of the land?"
Scott Summers Of course Scott would be there, where else would he be. He's right beside Jean as they move further up into the mountains. "We've got this Jean we will find the kids and bring them home safe." He says his tone of normal cool and commanding, trying to raise morale. "That's a great idea Rogue, eyes in the sky never hurts." He then looks to Spidey. "Come on not helpin, save the smores for after we fond the kids! Besides I brought the Mallows!"
Mystique It's kinda shocking but here she is mystique herself not as anybody else just herself of course she's not wearing proper gear but a little like wolverine she dosnt' need to wear it her shape shifter abiltiies protect her from the cold it seems.. Seh cocks her head as she look around she looks to logan as well and sniffs . She crosses ehr arms but follows along the spider man terrible joke gets a perfect eyebrow lift .
Logan Logan is one of the first one's out there. Among some of the first to know, it bothers him. Which is his boots are on the ground. Dressed in the yellow and blue uniform, he stands out in the sea of dark colors from nature's splender.

Lingering low, "Sniff." "Sniff." The mutant tries to get the trail. Just some smell that stands out from the crisp scents of winter, the various people, dead leaves and the dirty ground.

Those eyes hidden by the mask, Logan's probably a bit ahead of others. Although the com is on and he'll chime in, "Did someone bring the beer?" Normally, Spidey's quips aren't tolerated. Today, they're a pleasant distraction from lingering horror. There's too many variables for Logan's taste. Anything could hurt those kids. Nature, man, best and other things that go bump in the night.
Jean Grey Jean Grey is on the com system even though she is holding the fort at home, so to speak. <<I'll watch things at the school, please refer to Scott as your leader on your field. I will be on stand by for any updates. Everyone, stay safe. Please.>>

It sure is cold out here and it doesn't look like the storm is abating any time soon. However, there is a brief break in the howling wind, and it reveals...Footprints. Very big footprints. Wait, are those even human? And..Logan might get a very strange whiff of...Something in the air..
Spider-Man As Wolvie gives the forest a sniff test, and doesn't get agressive at his quips it makes Spidey worry a bit. With a fwip, and a pull he is up in a snow covered tree squatting on a limb looking. He joked because it was just how his mind worked not because he didn't take it seriously of course, but if the hairy one was letting it go then it must be very serious. He looked around a bit "You should carry Wolvie, and just drop him if he see's them." he half jokes as it would be good to get someone to them wherever they maybe.

He would follow them from the tree tops hopping, and sometimes swinging tree to tree.

"Spidey.. Spidey.. Spidey of the jungle! Look out for that tree!" and grins as he just avoids a tree to land on another branch! Though his voice tone changes, as he seriously adds, "Do we have a last location? Might give Wolvie a trail to follow." he notes as he does not underestimate Wolvies smell, as he could smell him from here.

He walks to the bottom of the limb hanging there, and unfolds a map as he hangs upside down. "Okay boss man, what do we do? Split up, stick together? I can tell you if we split up I will tell you I will be right back so I wouldn't suggest it." and grins a bit looking over the map at Scott as Spidey seems just as home upside down as he does right side up. He then thinks about it for a moment, "Hey... Did you just hear the wind howl?" he asks a bit worried, as maybe that was just a forest thing as he really missed the city. It was cold, and creepy around here.
Rogue Rogue glances over to Scott as he agrees that a view from up high would be a good thig to have. "On it, Summers." She says this much before doing a small little fly-leap ahead to reach Logan's side so she can place a very much gloved hand against his back. A sort of silent 'be safe' notion from her as she looks to him, nods and then...

In a small puff of powdery snow on the ground, Rogue takes to the skies and gets well above even where Spider-Man can fling himself. Above the tree tops. She won't be able to see the foot prints that have suddenly appeared from that last gust of wind but she has the vantage point of being able to see...well as far as she might be able to amidst the storm. With her commlink on, she openly comments, <<Colder than an ex lover's stare up 'ere...May not be able ta see much even from this point...but I'll try...>>
Scott Summers Scott Summers glances around. "A ground team, an Air team and a tree team works." He chuckles. "Logan and I'll be on the ground, Spidey you got the trees and Rogue is already in the sky. Every one stay close and stay safe, this includes you too Logan." He says before radioing back
Scott Summers <<We got this Jean, you just keep an eye on those monitors yea?>>
Mystique Mystique Lifts an eyebrow As she's ignored, but she says nothing. She's used to it.. She shifts slightly and seems to walk, but as she does, her steps seem to rise from the snow till she's standing on top of it and leaving almost no footprints, but she moves and crouches down towards the huge footprint to look it over. She's been alive a very, very long time. After all not much she hasn't seen. She peers at it for a bit before looking toward the direction it went "At least they left an easy trail " .
Logan Hearing Spidey compare himself to George makes Logan shake his head. It's not quite the chiding, but it's something to hang onto. Not as good as the quips, still there are no threats. And that may worry Spidy for more.

A moment later Rogue is next to him. After the backpat, Logan gives a single nod. It's one of acknowledgement and as if to say, "You too," without speaking. A puff of cold white scatters everywhere, like frozen dust in the wind. She's off like a bullet. Just in case, Logan will grab some snow and toss it into the air.

That crisp scent drowns out any of the leather and new smells Rogue brought it. They're faint, won't last long, but it will add to the sensory noise. There's enough of that as it is.

Picking out the -different- scenet, Logan will sniff high, low and toward the center of his frame. Right now, he's just trying to pick the best level to catch the scent. It's the tracking equivilant of adjusting one's gaze. Trying to pick the best vantage point. If he gets it, Logan will move hurriedly. If he doesn't the steps will be measured, constrained.

"What he said," Logan retorts to Cyclops's words. What may be shocking is the utter lack of tension, malice or juxtaposition toward their relationship. Logan may not like Cyclops, but there is some measure of respect. Keyword: some. And right now, it's too important to be in-fghting.

"Anyone spot anythin'? This includes web-head, make sure someone's close to em'. He's doin' us a favor," he asks over the com. "Next time he gets a com-link," Logan adds. If they get separated this could be -very- important.
Jean Grey To Mystique, if she is familiar with those footprints, they look fresh, and like very big human feet, but kind of ape-ish too. Up above, the sky is a bit clearer and Rogue is able to see that the winding narrow mountain path they are on climbs steeply around the mountain, and it doesn't get much better higher up the trail. It eventually splits to the right and the left, the left leading to a wide, open area. The right leads to what looks like a huge cavern. Oh, and there's a tree right on the edge of the forked trail. With a piece of bright red fabric stuck in its branches which may catch Spidey's attention.

The footsteps lead into the cavern, but Rogue May notice something else in the other direction - What looks like a giant metallic egg-like object is partially buried in the snow, sitting out in the open..
Spider-Man With a sigh Spidey looks around from the trees not having to go to the top often as he just went on the branches. As Logan still doesn't say something back at him he thinks about it for a moment looking around not just for signs of the lost kids, but also for something... else? Though this is more because it gives him the creeps how there seemed to be something out here though maybe it was just a bear so it got Logan all distracted. He grined a bit, yea see, probably just a bear.

Being a bit on edge was a good thing though, as he was paying especially good care of looking at their surroundings. He didn't think he could spot them better then Logan, but it was never easy with this group so Spidey came just incase. As Rogue lifts off, and his map blows away before he webs it, and pulls it back. "Well that was a bit rude." and chuckles as he didn't think so just was jealous.

Finally as he would just keep up with Scott, Logan, and Mystique on the ground he looked around "Here you three take this." and he tosses them a small flat disk that had covered adhesive on one side. "Don't lose em.." he adds as they were a months pay for him. "Wherever you go with those I can find you." he looks up and grins, "Un non-fliers got to stick together." and chuckles as he swings along looking.

In his mind he is convinced he is covering his creepy feeling of this place. They would never think he is just trying to cover it with humor. Though he wonders why Logan is giving him that wicked grin when he was calling himself George. Somethings Spidey thinks.. Are best not to know. Then he comes to a stop.. "Hey.. I think I found something." Spidey says seriously as he hops a few branches over and carefully picks up the red fabric. He holds it back to where they can see it his back to the cavern. "Logan you want to take a wiff.. see if you can find something?" he adds hoping that maybe this could lead them there as he knew it helped to have a thing to look for.
Rogue <<The path splits off after the bend y'all are approachin'...>> Rogue speaks through the commlink once again. <<It goes off to the left an' into a cavern and the right...a clearin'....hold on...>> She goes radio silent then while being ahead of the team a bit even if they could see her in the air for some time she's soon gone behind the bend she was talking about.

Approaching the clearing where she saw something half-buried in the ground, she'll stay hovering in the air while trying to get a better look at it. <<Somethin's buried here. Looks like a giant metal..egg..>> She won't make any move to go closer to it either unless anyone asks about it. <<I dun know about three kids comin' up this way but somethin' sure ain't feelin' right to me right about now. Y'all sure they came this way?>>
Scott Summers Scott Summers trudges forward looking around taking in Everything he nods to Mystique. "Thanks." He looks about some more. <<This is where Jean said they were headed I trust her." He moves forward at a bit of a run. "Besides worst case scenario they aren't there and we head off else where, best case we findem we get them home, we have some beer or whiskey or some such."
Mystique Mystique Looks to him but more for wolverine as she looks " those printss are like sasquache but they are diffrent not the same shape.. it's not wenidgo the shape is wrong not enough claws " She says simply " What ever it is might be related to them tough " She thinks for a moment frowing " And even the wild ones of those two wouldn't come this close to the city "
Logan Taking one of the flat discs, Logan will nod to spidey. "What is it?" Logan knows it's some kind of tracking device. It should have a name, some intended purposes and maybe a few more Spidey might divulge. The webhead will head off after a moment.

Logan's moving with caution. Just trying not to lose whatever trail he has, the mutant is being methodical. All of that gets tossed out the window the moment says, "Want to to a wiff..." And yes, he starts to smell extensively. "Sniff." "Sniff." Pause, "One of the missin' kids, they're here. Eyes sharp!" Logan says over the radio just letting everyone know that the trail is definitely getting warm. Of course, Spidey hears Logan say this.

Logan follows the trail as best he could. Moving quckly, he only stops to listen to Mystique. "Either the kids are food or somethin' else." And he will start to go for the trail before he hears something odd over the coms. "A what?!" Logan wants to make sure he heard Rogue right. A metal egg? That's certainly a new one.
Jean Grey Suddenly there is the sound of a deafening roar...Whoever, or whatever made that sound must be huge! And it sounds close, very close. Too close for comfort. As the heroes continue down the trail towards the fork in the road, the ground begins to shake and shudder, and the sound of rumbling can be heard...Up above, Rogue May spot snow balls or chunks of rock, or both, coming loose and tumbling down towards the group!

The rumbling continues and the sound of something large moving through the nearby cave. And..Was that a shriek of fear?
Spider-Man As Spidey hands the fabric down he nods "Its a Spidey-Tracker." he admits almost embaressed as of course it was. Though he waited and eyed him when he says that about the missing kid he heads back up into his tree, and faces the cave which is down the path. In his mind he thinks 'please don't be the cave... please don't be the cave' as the sound of a Roar comes out. He sighs a bit, "Any chance that was the wind as well?" then the ground starts shaking, and spidey holds on to the tree as the ground shakes around him. "Definetly not the wind!" he notes.

As he looks up to see the rolling snow balls. He flips to a higher branch, and while crouched on it he webs down to try to catch Mystique, and Scott by the back and heft them up to his level up, and away from the danger that would then roll under. He trusted Logan to figure a way out or just to lay down and let them roll over, though him getting stuck, and rolling with it gave Spidey a grin.

"Upsey Daisy!" he says out loud as he yanks them and offers an arm to hold onto so it helps to balance them on the limb they would be standing on.

"We are safe up here, and we don't want any giant laser beacons for the bad guys." he explains quickly so they don't get too mad at him. He looks down at Logan, "I will lower them back down after it passes. You got this!" and grins, as he though poor Logan getting the short end of the stick, though he only had two arms so what could he do.
Rogue Rogue hears more than feels the rumble, but as she glances around she spots the random bits of snow and rock debris heading down the mountain towards the group. <<Everyone move! Fast! There's a rock slide headin' yer way!>> She yells that over the comms, to get the point across in some fashion.

All of this coupled with that roar and then the screams, she looks back towards the cave and - ignoring the metal egg for now - she flies over to the cave entrance and lands just in front - maybe ten feet or so before it. <<...I think I know where the kids are...an' I think they ain't the only ones in this cave...if we're talkin' a sasquatch...might 'ave found 'is home...>>
Scott Summers Scott Summers shakes his head as his hoisted up. "I guess my optic blasts would have made things worse on that front. Thanks for that." He glances to make sure they're all up and safe before responding through the com. <<Got it thanks, but we gotta get to the kids what's going on? Anyone see what caused this??"
Mystique Mystique Blinks as she's hauled up into the air only to flip and twist and land ontop of the branch showing incredible spidey-level athletics as she looks about and points for scot " Thier " She says simply " shoot their" she says " it will break the avalanche and allow us to get close.. otherwise only rouge can and we have to wait.. the snow is unstable " she comments even as she holds the tree that shakes and wobbles dangerously from the snow and rock impacts!
Logan A rumbling going through air catches Logan's attention. First, it's thegrowling, those aniamlistic roars that shatter the calm nature of the area. Then a new top of rumble starts to happen. Snowballs. The falling of rock. A landslide, rockslide, small avalanche, the thing has many names depending on location. The outcome is always not good.

"Thwps!" go off in stereo. A second later Cyclops and Mystique are pulled to the trees. And instead of going upward, Logan goes -forward-.

Rushing toward the pending danger, he will dodge one and another. It's a question of -how- many. Can he avoid all of it with enough movements? Or will people see a rush of white powder and rock burry the yellow and blue clad mutant.

It won't stop Logan. He'll just keep going. The healing factor may need to assit him for a few moments before he rushes off. The kids are why he won't give up.
Jean Grey It doesn't take long for the source of the noise to be found as a *massive* ape like creature, perhaps some 15-20ft tall leaps down from a higher level right in front of the cave entrance and snarls and roars at the various heroes. His huge, muscular firm is covered in thick white fur and there is a bit of blood on his fur as well, as if he has been injured recently.

Oh yeah, and he's also carrying an unconscious girl with a short black Bob, her. red scarf torn a bit, and bearing a nasty looking bruise on her head. The Yeti doesn't stop, pausing briefly to face the various heroes, and the massive creature utters another fearful screech, and as it breathes out it seems to gather and shape the snowstorm around it, spitting it out in a concentrated cone of freezing snow and chunks of deadly sharp hail and blinding snow, using the focused blizzard breath to further bring down the avalanche above, using this to cover its tracks as it fires into the cave beyond!
Spider-Man As he pulls the two up, and watches Logan just take it and keep moving he shakes his head, "The best at what he does.. Which is I guess is taking rocks to the face... Ouch," well one definetly could not doubt Logan's determination. He nods to Mystique, and just removes the webbing, and wraps it around a branch somewhere out of the way so it could biodegrade in about an hour. He saw she had good athletics as well so didn't need to hold her up here, as he didn't seem to even shake from the tree his grip with his feet on the limb solid as if he were holding onto it with his hands.

Scott on the other hand he left attached as he is not as agile as the rest so Spidey worries about him falling so keeps a good hold just incase while he is up here. Well that was the plan until the Great Ape showed up. He looks at Scott, and makes sure he has a good hold of the base of the tree, "When you want down.. Jump." he has to say a bit louder the snow blast coming behind him. The web would not let him hit the ground as the length was just the right hight to get him down again. He was sure that he could shoot from here as Spidey webbed another tree not trusting to jump again the snow blast he pulled himself forward towards the Yeti he had to get to the kid and the others would be alright where they were. He also kept an eye out for Login getting pushed by snow as one could get wiped away quickly by the weight of it if not careful.
Rogue "Fuck.." Rogue says this aloud, so it likely goes over the commlink as well, and takes back into the skies just before the creature can spew the storm in what would have been you're direction. "It's hurt. It's got the girl. She's bruised and likely unconscious..." So the other two kids might be in the cave. But is the creature harming them or protecting them? Thinking it's protecting them maybe.

"We ain't here ta hurt you." Rogue says, looking right at the creature like it can understand her. "Y'all...the creature is hurt. So's the kid. And it's mad..but I dunno if it's at us, or them, or something else. It went into the cave." She looks back over towards the clearing with the egg and - likely despite any better judgement - moves to fly back over to where the metal egg is, landing next to it and tries to get a closer, better look at it.
Scott Summers Scott Summers smirks and aims where Mystique suggested firing a focused concussive blast to that area! <<Wounded beast that's angry, at us, them or otherwise makes it more dangerous, don't engage Rogue not yet, wait until we reach you and the child ok?">> He looks about. "You guys ready to head up there?"
Mystique The moment he Sends out the blast she leaps and moves she dosn't have alot of power but she is beyond human in many ways.. Leaping forward and jerking out a Graple gun to launch towards a Cliff lip . She Pulls but still the snow and debriss seems to slow her as she tries to pull herself towards the lip.. those kids might need help and that seems to motivate her more than she nromal does!
Logan White engulfs Logan. He lasts for a little bit, but it's only brief. One snowball strikes him. Then another. A third misses him, and then the snow engulfs him. As all of the heroes make it toward the threat, Logan is the victim.

However, a "Shnkt!" may go unheard, claws protrude upward at the top. Sadly, the blue glow they extend out of is unseen. It may be hard to see the gleam of the claws in the white. But then the claws start to move. Gliding across the surface like three sharks moving together in the ocean. Each of them warning the world of their presence. Another "Shnkt!" with an unseen hand and Logan is digging himself out of his white make-shift burial mound. Whatever injuries come to the body slowly heal, but that pain doesn't bother him. It's the mind-numbing cold. Too many nights spent freezing like this. Fighting to keep a fire gowing and a belly full. The nights where desperation and survival overlapped into necessary results he wouldn't wish on anyone.

Logan eventually emerges from the snow, the man's flesh red from the cold, but the man lets out his own savage growl. One could even joke that the red of his flesh isn't because of the cold. . .it's because Logan is -very- angry right now. And he'll look for the source. That big beast of a thing. The same prey his instincts scream to put -down-. The group's issues may have grown today. . .Because -they- may not be there to hurt him. Logan is -far- from that category at the moment.
Jean Grey A lot of things happen at once. Rogue goes for the big metal egg thingy and May notice some interesting things. Firstly the egg, about the size of a..Toilet, and kinda shaped like one with a lid that's open, and partially singed. Wait, was this an alien pod? It's even got strange alien looking writing on the lid..But it seems to be empty now..

Meanwhile, Mysti's calculations ring true and Cyclops' beams cut through the snow with surgical precision, cutting a path through the avalanche, maybe even stabilizing the seemingky uncontrollable flow of ice to some extent, allowing them to advance into the cavern more easily should they choose..

And Logan, in all his stubborn resolve, is the first to reach the retreating yeti although it so easily dwarfs him, seemingly too preoccupied with fleeing with its prey as it retreats further into the cave to pay much attention to anyone who might be following it.
Spider-Man As Spidey looks over the distance from the Yeti he swears he can hear the muttering of a very pissed off Logan, but as he webs two tree's and pulls back to sling-shot his way towards feeling the whaps of little limbs as he flies through the foliage at the Ape he flies at the thing trying to land on the large body with some force he yells "Ursula, relase the kid!". His goal was to grab the giant arm and pull to get the child free while he surprised it with him impacting its chest. Spidey was actually a bit stronger then he looked so though it was much larger then him he figured he would have a good chance. "Wolvie... the Kid!" he yelled as Spidey truested Logan.

He knew the days of seeing red above anything were not these days, and hoped he would put his vengence aside to help him other then just go beserk though maybe he was an optomist. If they could get the kid away they could talk, fight, or whatever, but while it held onto the kid they needed to get them back, and then ask some questions. Then as stands on the chest of a large monkey yanking on an arm the size if his chest if not larger he ponders... How does one talk with a Yeti?
Rogue Rogue blinks. Then stares. Then blinks again. "The fuck is this..." Strange writing. Empty egg. Like it landed and then...whatever was inside came out? "Why's it always gotta be an alien of some sort..." She pulls out her phone to attempt to take a picture of the metal egg thing, the alien lettering. After snapping a few shots, she puts her phone back from...where DOES Rogue keep her things? She's likely got a side pocket or some such.

Then she's up to the skies again and flies the short distance to the cave. Scott said not to engage but Logan was already nearly on top of the yeti and...there goes spider-man kicking into his chest. "Of all the stupid things to do..." So she'll follow into the cave, hoping she can salvage whatever is happening in here while waiting for their fearless leader.
Scott Summers Scott Summers takes off heading through the clearing he just made passing that egg thing and shaking his head. "This shit again?" He looks at the Yeti like thing keeping it in his line of sight as he tries to make his way to the cave.
Mystique Mystique Grunts as she finally gets to the lip of the entrance she spots spidey and Wolvie already handling things.. but she has a bad feeling.. So she crawls up and quickly starts to move stealthy like almost blending into the walls as she moves as fast as she can.. she isn't trying to fight the thing she wants to go find where it's going and more so.. if thiers another kid!
Logan Logan is full of rage, anger and he odesn't expect to get there first. However, Spidey speaks and that gives Logan pause. The mutant shakes with anger, but the eyes drift toward the child. Anger and something else pull at Logan.

"SHNKT!" and the claws slip back into flesh and msucle. Logan shakes with anger, but he's backing down. Scott says not to engage, so he's backing up a little. Although, Logan will lunge for the creatue at the drop of a hat. He's just waiting for an order -to- engage. Somehow, Spidey touched a nerve and it's not necessarily a bad one.

Seeing the child fall leaves the beast, if Spidey's successful, Logan's anger gets curbed further and he rushes to catch the child. It may not be a great catch, but at least they will be safe.
Jean Grey The Yeti's body feels like solid rock but Spidey is indeed a lot stronger than he appears. And his flying kick, while it doesn't loosen its grip on the child, does manage to distract it enough to pause for a moment, maybe even stumbling a little, but it's grip remains firm on the unconscious girl under one arm..

Mystique, in her cunning is the first to detect..Not more mutant kids! but certainly some sort of kids..Oh dear, are those two hairy creatures the Yeti's babies?!

Hidden in the darkness, they are still huge at some 7 feet each, but sneakier than their Yeti mom, as they sneakily rush at the heroes from the shadows, both of them rushing at the heroes with powerful claws and lightning quick movements. One goes for Cyclops, the other rushes at Mystique.
Spider-Man If Spidey couldn't lift it the thing must be really strong so to Logan he said, "Strength, and bad breath!" and smiled at the thing as he started climbing the Yeti. He hoped Logan would get the point if Spidey was calling it strong how strong it must be, though other then hurt it more he just shot a web at the face to cover it as he climbed over the monkey to try to get behind it so he could hold on there where he couldn't get grabbed. Sure it might anger it a bit more, but whatever it may think he wasn't here to kill it, but with no way of saying that especially now Logan cut it he would have to detain it somehow.

"I got them distracted!" he yells to logan, "Help them.. Don't cut them we need them." he dodged to the left from a massive ape hand "Hey comon! That the best you got!" Spidey yells actually taping it on the back of the head as he is dodging around trying to keep its attention, and not get grabbed.

He figured if the three could detain the little ones, and show they aren't hurting them. They might come back from this. He had to trust the others could do that before the Yeti got its hands on him. As he says "Whoaaaaa!" getting shaken, as the yeti tries to shake him off he only hopes they hurry as he did not have that much time and if the thing got a hold of him... Gulp!
Rogue Rogue is still in flight when she makes it to the cave, so when she spies Spider-Man knocking into the bigger yeti, she almost says something until she notices (barely) the two other yetis making a charge towards Scott and Mystique. So she speeds up her flight and makes a very calculated attempt to dodge Mystique and slam into the yeti that's charging at her.
Scott Summers Scott Summers grins. <<It's show time! Lightem up team!>> With that he does up the power of his optic blasts with the dial on his visor letting one massive blast loose at the Yeti charging him before leaping out of the way!
Mystique Mystique Screams " AMBUSH " but it's clear they spot everyting.. she's about to try and hold back avoid the kids when Scoot sends out his blast.. that makes her blinks and up snaps her gun .. She Fires a shot towards the Yeti child.. aiming for a leg! She dosn't want to kill it after all
Logan Logan did back down from fighting the Yeti. However, it wont' dawn on him until later that this might be a mistake. Spidey can't get the girl free. A sneakier Yetti enters the free. They're a flurry of claws going for both Cylops and Mystique. Logan rushes toward the one spidey is on, not to wound it. However, he is trying to hit the Yetti's frame just right to let go of the girl. That's the plan. Spidey does have the creature distracted. And he will level a shoulder -firmly- at the creature. The adamantium skeleton will add some force to this hit, too.
Jean Grey The momma yeti is pretty distracted and it snarls and shrieks, trying to shake off the agile spider from its back. When he goes for it's eyes with that blinding webbing, that makes it even harder for it to fight back, leaving it even more open to attack. It's enough of a distraction for Logan to come in and hit it at just the right spot, causing it to finally drop the unconscious child from its arms..

The baby yetis are bit gawkier and less agile than their mom..The combined attacks cause them to loose their footing, stumbling to the ground, and the momma Yeti is distracted enough that she lets out a shriek, rushing towards her babies, more concerned for her children even if they will go to bed with an empty stomach tonight.

All this fighting however, has caused an unstable hole in the ceiling above and more rumbling can be heard as the avalanche starts to spill trough the large crack from above..

Just when it seems they might all be buried in snow, a thick layer of ice forms along the ceiling, sealing the hole. A blast of wind and the snow and rocks that seep through are clear of falling on anyone.

Two young preteens appear, one a girl with curly dark green hair, the other, a slightly older skinny boy with pale blue hair. Their eyes glow with an odd silver light as they step into the cavern. They seem to match the descriptions of the last two teens. "Hold on, we got this!" they seem very calm and in control.
Spider-Man Not missing a chance he webs up the now falling kid as the Yeti falls Spidey kicks off its back into a flip to land on the ground he holds his arms out as the kid being pulled by the web lands in them as he grins, and winks at Logan. "I totally had that!" he says noting the Yeti that Logan knocked down. Then he hears a crack, and he almost drops the kid as his Spidey-Sense goes crazy as he looks at Logan.. "Got to save the kid." he says as he saw what was coming and is jumping to start running away. If he could take Logan he would, but with his weight and size he couldn't get them both out so he made the decision to save the kid as he webs past the other Yeti's returning to their mother.

Spidey is just about to launch himself away again to save the kid as it was the only way from an avalanch that large he hears the voices of the people behind him, and stops slowly looking back... "Well this is akward." and grins a bit glad that he wouldn't have to come back to unburry his friend.
Rogue Rogue had the momentum checked for slamming into the yeti. However, she did not calculate the momentum she would have after slamming into it. So she goes to land, but misses sticking the landing and ends up tumbling a bit head over heels and into the side of the cave wall. Surely someone will pick her up and bring her out when all this mess clears and they can all get away with the missing children now found in tow. Surely. Right?
