Jean Grey Another warm and sunny day, another Tai Chi class..However Jean did not join in today..She has a lot on her mind that leaves her distracted. She sits a few paces away, watching the class with a slight frown as she corrects some class papers, although her mind occasionally drifts. Dressed in her red yoga pants and top underneath a gold track suit jacket, she looks like she came dressed for a workout, but as the class looks like it's about to wrap up, perhaps she simply arrived too late..
Bruce Banner Days since incident: 34 and counting.

It's been a rollercoaster ride for Bruce Banner. He hasn't kept in contact with a whole lot of people, instead just keeping to himself. He seems to just be walking, his hair cut short and his beard trimmed. Someday, you just have take care of yourself, button up your shirt, and get back up there.

He's been in his lab for what feels like forever. But today, he seems to just be walking.
Jean Grey Jean Grey is trying to keep a low profile, but as some kids start playing ball in the park, one of them hits it a little too hard and it goes flying..Towards a particularly familiar looking figure..

"Hey, look out!"

Jean shouts out a warning before reaching out with her powers, catching the ball in glowing pink energy moments before it can hit him in the head, letting it drop on the ground in front of the startled kids. "Woah!" one of them exclaims. Fortunately they both seem to be more accepting of mutants as they run to retrieve the ball.
Bruce Banner A ball is sailing right for his head!!

Bruce looks up at the call of 'look out!' and he sees the ball a few seconds too late, his hand instinctively lifting to try and protect himself, only for the ball to be surrounded by a strange light.

"Ah huh....."

Bruce gulps and he looks at the kids. "Be careful, okay?" He watches them run off. His lips press into a thin line and he turns to look at Jean.

"Jean Grey."
Jean Grey Jean Grey glances at the kids and smiles, "Careful next time, you two." the kids wave and hurry off..And then she turns to face the one they nearly hit..Her smile slipping just a bit as she recognizes who is is.."Oh..Bruce. Hello. How..How have you been..?" there is an awkward pause as she starts to gather her papers, deciding now might be a good time to head home. But there is concern in her voice too..
Bruce Banner An awkward pause kept there and interrupted by a clearing of Bruce's throat.

"Been better. How're you?"

He feels like he's breaking a rule. Of course, he's not too worried about the wrath of Scott Summers, rather the comfortability of the woman in front of him.
Jean Grey Jean Grey finishes gathering up her papers, tucking them into her bag before climbing to her feet. "I am alright, been keeping busy.." she doesn't need to be a mind reader to know what happened. "I imagine Scott talked to you then..I apologize. You know there can be no secrets between him and me, especially given our minds are linked..I never imagined he would go this far though..I am truly sorry.."
Bruce Banner Bruce was uncomfortable.

It didn't take a mind reader to see that. "Good." To her keeping busy. When she talks to him about what had happened? Bruce seems to grimace.

And he shoves that anger deep down to talk.

"You know him better than anybody else in the world. With respect Jean, you knew exactly what he would do. I'm more hurt you didn't try to stop him."

Bruce has grown quite the spine.

"You understand he forbade me from speaking to you, yes?"
Jean Grey Jean Grey sighs, "Do you think I wanted any of this? Of course I tried to talk him out of it, I told him I thought he was overreacting and it was an honest mistake, but he can be stubborn when he's set on doing something, and maybe he sees something I don't.."

she frowns a bit at that last part, surprised. "Really? He said that?" that makes her frown deepen, sighing as she rubs her temples, "Well, I understand him not wanting you to pursue me, and maybe I was being too friendly..I don't know. If that's the case, that's my fault..I'm sorry, but..I hope we can still be friends, regardless of what Scott thinks. I can see whoever I want as long as we both respect boundaries."
Bruce Banner "Clearly he didn't respect yours or mine."

Bruce crosses his arms and he meets her eyes. "I believe his exact words were 'Only in case of an accidental bumping into'." Bruce doesn't appear to be buying much of her explanation. He seems displeased by this whole thing.

"If you thought he was overreacting, is there a reason why you didn't warn me in advance, take the time to talk him down, or simply stand your ground?" He looks her deeper then, like he was peering into her soul.

"It's physically impossible for him to see more than you Jean. So tell me, what does he see in me that you agree with?"

"And I wasn't pursuing you. I stopped immediately before you allowed this to explode and cost me any chance of helping those kids. It was my mistake for uttering a single word about it." He looks at her.

Can they be friends? Bruce is upset, not enough to transform, but enough to consider it.
Jean Grey Jean Grey sighs, folding her arms loosely as she shoulders her backpack. "So, you wanted me to hunt him down and stop him, maybe tie him to a chair? Bruce, I don't control his actions. All I can do is advise. And I can understand how he might be surprised that you didn't notice my engagement ring, or the common knowledge over the school that he and I are an item."

She shrugs, equal parts annoyed, frustrated, apologetic maybe, but.."As for warning you..Okay I guess you got me there, I guess I could have given you a heads up. The rest? Didn't I just tell you how we argued about this? If he's uncomfortable having you working with me, then I have to respect that.."

She keeps her distance, knowing how angry he is at her right now, knowing he could easily hulk out and give her a piece of his mind if he so chose. "Perhaps we all just need some time to cool down.."
Bruce Banner "He seems to have no problem controlling yours." Bruce seems to look a bit more visibly perturbed when she brings up that goddamn ring and 'common knowledge' bit.

Sounds like him too.

"Okay. Like I told him: I'm not privy to your 'common knowledge'. I'm not in your school every day. I didn't get to talk to other teachers and barely your students. So the 'you should've known because everyone else did' reasoning? Really, Jean? You understand he never wanted me in the building, right?"

"You tortured my trust in you. You can't ask me to help you then ensure I can't."

Hurt, wounded, it's all still there. "No, no. I'm going to take a /long/ breather. Have a good one, Ms. Grey." Bruce turns on his heel to leave it he's /really/ going to give her a piece of his mind. Better to walk away without breaking Harlem.

He's infuriated and he's done for the day.
