Firestar	After a flight over Central Park tonight, Angelica turns out towards the ocean and decides to take her speed to the top of her ability. She is low to the water and making it curl under her passage, making it obvious something is changing the surface even from a distance.
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz is higher up in the air, and coming from further away. Maybe she was even flying across the ocean from Europe, it seems to be booking a flight at least. She slows her speed and slowly comes to a stop as she floats in the air and looks down at what is disturbing the surface of the water.
Firestar	Unaware of the other woman, Angelica focuses on trying to draw more speed. Then, without warning, she peels up and away from the water. Still not knowing that she isn't alone, she checks a stop watch around her neck and sighs,"Angel girl, I think you've found your top end. Concetrate on the physics of the flight." Yes, she talks to herself.
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz smiles as she floats down lower and in the direction of Angelica. "Are you practicing for a race? If so, I am sure there are a lot of very quick people in the world, so there must be a lot of competition."
Firestar	Glancing up, Firestar reorients towards the sound of another voice. She gives the woman a fast once over and her head turns to one side for a second then back to normal,"Oh no." she replies finally,"Nothing like that. I just feel like I need to push my speed furthur. If I can reach 120 miles per hour, I think I should be able to make 140."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz nods as she looks her over. "It is always good to push yourself. You never really know what you are capable of, unless you give it your all. Has your speed been increasing lately?"
Firestar	A smile touches her lips and she shakes her head,"Unfortunately no, I seem to have reached the tops for now. That said, I will be looking into the outfit and see if I can change it, get better fabric and try to find ways to make me a little more aerodynamic. I will see if I can change it that way."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz smiles, "I am sure there is a lot you can do, to be more aerodynamic. Wearing a cone shaped helmet might have the biggest results, though that might be taking it a bit far." She laughs as she shrugs her shoulders. "Is there any specific reason to try to get that extra speed? Or are you just trying to improve in general? There is probably some level of diminishing returns, where the improvements might not be great for the effort put in."
Firestar	"A wise man told me once, if you aren't getting better you're getting worse." she replies with a shrug,"I have ran into a few times when a little more speed might have made the difference, I just didn't have it." She does make a face at the mention of the cone shaped helmet and chuckles softly,"You're not wrong. I just don't see it catching on. Maybe if I had to batter and ram something."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz nods, "It is true, you can always use a little extra speed, or strength, or power. Though learning to best use what you already got, is important as well. There might always be someone stronger and faster than you, so being flexible and being able to take another path, might be the answer at times."
Firestar	Listening to the other woman, Angelica considers her words for a long moment. She makes a soft hmm sound briefly and floats a little closer as she tells her,"Always someone better that's for sure." she agrees and offers a hand to shake if she is inclined,"Firestar." she offers her costume name for now, they did just meet after all.
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz nods her head. She smiles as she reaches her hand out and shakes hers. "It is a pleasure to meet you Firestar. I am Isis." She doesn't actually keep her identity secret, though Isis might be the better known name. Though even that name might not be well known in the US, as she is from the middle east.
Firestar	"Like the Egyptian goddess?" she asks curiously while shaking hands,"I mean, I admit my Egyptian lore is pretty weak so I could be way off." Once the hand shake separates,"It is a pleasure to meet you as well. Sorry if I am wrong, I am afraid I am more of a scientist than a historian or theologist."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz smiles as she nods her head as she releases her hand after the shake. "Yes exactly that. I am the Goddess Isis, and Queen of Kahndaq, which neighbors Egypt. So it would seem that you do have some knowledge about that sort of thing."
Firestar	"More of a passing interest I guess. My grandma liked mythology." she admits,"Though I think maybe there's a little less myth to it than she thought. I have seen Thor on the television so I guess I shouldn't be surprised." A smile and she adds,"Are you coming to this side of the world or just visiting?"
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz doesn't go into the philosophy of if she is an actual god or just has the powers of one, as that is a bit deep for a first meeting. She nods her head, "There is truth in a lot of myths and legend, though finding the truth from it can be difficult. I am just visting at the moment, I have a lot of responsbilities in Kahndaq, and it is my home, so I never leave for too long."
Firestar	"Well welcome to America." she offers with a smile,"It is nice to see other women that are about and able to push back against the porverbial monsters of the world. I guess it's more than proverbial for some of them she muses to herself,"Kahndaq. What is it like?"
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz considers that question for a moment, "It is like Egypt in many ways, as we share a common culture. It isn't a very large nation, nor very wealthy, but the people are kind and they work hard. It has more progressive ideals than some of the neighboring countries."
Firestar	""Maybe someday I will get there to see for myself. Assuming that is permissable. I wouldn't want to violate laws or something." she stumbles a little. She is a little awkward. Not blazingly, but talking about anything other than science or powers can trip her up.
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz smiles as she nods, "Of course, you would be welcomed. It is a small country but we still allow tourism and stuff. People are free to visit any time they wish, and don't need any special permission."
Firestar	"Always better to ask." she replies with a little smile,"I will try to get my way there someday then. Despite being a New York City Girl, I like the peace and quiet sometimes. I love the Rockies and I would like to see your home. Heat doesn't bother me much so there's that."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz smiles as she nods, "If you come visit, maybe I will give you a tour around the palace." Of course as Queen she has her own palace, she was a goddess too after all. "It can get very warm there at times, so that is good. Though it can be a bit cold at nights at times as well."
Firestar	"That would be amazing." she replies,"I am sorry if I am not doing something right. I haven't had a lot of time near royalty of any sort." She considers the last,"Fortunately it has to be sub zero before I really feel it too deep. The advantage of my powers. There aren't a lot of them, but there are some."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz seems like a genuinely nice person, who wouldn't be upset even if something was done wrong. Perhaps because she was born just a normal human. She smiles as she shakes her head, "Don't stress over it, you can just be yourself." She laughs, "It doesn't get that cold, so you don't have to worry about that."
Firestar	The longer they talk, the more at ease she gets. That's an accomplishment in its own right,"I will do my best to just be me. It's easier." she agrees,"I didn't figure it got that cold, but stranger things I guess. I mean the two of us are floating over Atlantic talking after all." She looks back towards the shore of the country and asks,"I know a place that makes a decent cup of coffee, even this late. You want to join me? I mean they make herbal teas too if you don't like coffee."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz laughs as she nods, "There are definitely strange things in the world. Even a lot stranger than floating over the ocean." She considers the offer and nods her head, "Sure, I could go for a coffee."
Firestar	Angelica turns herself towards the coast again and starts that way,"They are used to costume types coming through so probably other than a customer gawking we won't have any troubles there." "As for the strange things, it is sad that you are right, there are way more things weirder than us flying above the ocean unfortunately. I have had the misfortune of seeing a few of them."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz heads towards the coast, going at the other girl's speed. She smiles, "Well there is strange, which is just strange but harmless. But then there is strange and dangerous things as well. I don't mind things that are just weird."
Firestar	"The weird always pricks my interest." she admits as they fly. She changes the arc of her flight path a little and the city comes into view,"I have had my fill of strange and dangerous of late." There is probably a story there, but so far she leaves it. The coffee shop comes into view and she flies down to land lightly.
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz tilts her head slightly as she drops down to land gracefully on the ground. "Has there been a lot of strange and dangerous things lately? Is it you looking for the danger, or the danger coming to you?"
Firestar	"Just being a mutant can be dangerous." she admits,"Recently I was up in Canada, ran into something I haven't had a good name for what it is yet. Nasty enough it didn't want to die and it was trying to hurt someone I care about." She motions to the cafe,"We could talk more about it if you want, but maybe get the coffee and come back out. I don't want to scare the barista." The barist, for his part, waves at Firestar and studies Isis thoughtfully. A smile for him and she crosses the room,"Give me the usual at whatever my friend would like please."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz nods and is curious, though she will wait until they leave to get the full details about it. "You were able to deal with it, in the end though?" She looks to the person, "I will have the same as her."
Firestar	"Eventually yes, but it was harrowing." she explains,"Nobody was seriouslt hurt, but it weren't for lack of trying." The barista nods and starts to make up two coffees, with a sweet cream rather than typical sugar and creamer. It doesn't make the coffee thicker so much as it just changes the texture. Difficult to explain. When the barista comes back he offers the two cups and Firestar pays the man. Where she had money in that get up is anybody's guess. She thanks him and offers Isis her cup.
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz accept the cup and takes a sip of the cofee, while she is listening. "Well as long as it all worked out and no one was seriously hurt, that is what is really important."
Firestar	"Agreed." she replies and walks out to a table away from the few people that are present. She reconsiders and nods towards a tall building, leading her back to the sky,"An old friend of mine and I talk on roofs at night. It's quiet and rarely if ever does a person wander up there."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz laughs as she floats up into the air, "I am sure that is a good way to avoid random people wandering by, though it probably a good way to get spotted by any wierd things flying around in the sky."
Firestar	A soft chuckle and she agrees,"Yes. There is always that. I have seen a few strange things out here in the night." She brings herself to a landing up on the roof and takes a sip of her coffee once she is settled. Considering for a moment she sets the coffe down and reaches for her mask,"You seem ok. You probably wouldn't be able to pick me out of a line up, and this thing is making me crazy." Removing the mask, she sets it on an A/C ductwork next to her coffee. She rubs her face a few times and turns back to Isis. While she isn't likely a memorable person as far as being seen on TV or something, but she is stop traffic gorgeous and she doesn't really notice anymore. She is anything other than not memorable. "You can call me Angel if you like." she tells her,"I will answer to both. Angel was more or less put onto me by team mates. I never really got it, but after a while I just put up with it."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz takes a sip of her coffee. She doesn't really hide her identity, and probably couldn't as she is the Queen of a nation, though she respects that others have secrets they need to keep. "Well it is a nice name. Which do you prefer?"
Firestar	"Angel is fine when it's just girl talk." she replies with a shrug,"If we're out in the world, Firestar is better. Some have called me Angel then too, but I try to keep it divided." She takes another drink of her coffee and asks,"You like it? I am told my taste is a little weird so I never know who will or won't like how I take it."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz smiles as she shrugs, "It tastes fine to me. Wouldn't it be weirder to get like straight black coffee these days? Does anyone go into a coffee shop to get that?"
Firestar	"Sometime I should introduce you to my friend Logan. He is pretty basic in most of his ways. I think the coffee he drinks would put hair on your tongue if you weren't careful." she teases mildly,"Other than that...most are more inclined to pretty it up some." She considers and adds,"Do you have a place to stay? I live at a school so I couldn't bring you there without permission, but there are some nice places too."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz shakes her head, and takes a sip of her drink. "No, but I wasn't really planning on staying very long. Just take care of a few things then head back home." She was one of those types, could probably circle the entire planet in a few hours.
Firestar	"OK. Just making sure." she admits,"Have to be a little cordial to those from out of the coutry where I can." Another sip of her coffee and admits,"Part of why I try harder to be faster. I'd like to be able to move around the world without a jet, but I am a long way from that still."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz smiles, "Depending on how far you want to go, it makes a big difference how fast you can get. Though at some point, it might be better to look for magical means to increase speed, rather than trying to brute force it."
Firestar	"I have topped out at around 120 miles per hour. I thought lower altitude would help, but it really didn't. Tends to be where I hit it faster." She hmms softly and admits,"I don't know much about magic. I know there are some out there that use it. I've seen Dr. Strange before so while I am a scientist I am not jaded enough to think that there can be no magic. I feel like it is just some sort of math that only a few people understands sometimes."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz laughs as she shakes her head, "I am not sure how you could not consider it magic. What sort of math could a person do, that would give them superhuman strength to pick up a car and throw it? Though speaking of magic, I suppose just teleporting would be even faster than flying."
Firestar	"For people like me, it is just something we were born with that hits us when we are teenagers. It's not like life isn't awkward enough at that time." she tells her with a shrug,"I don't know about magic really. My mind works as it does and I haven't found a way to explain it so I have to accept that I don't understand. After what I saw up north I have a lot to rethink."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz is a completely normal human, who is also a Goddess, so she doesn't need much convincing. "Well there is definitely magic in the world. There is a sense to it and I think a person can learn to understand it. Though it doesn't always follow the rules of the world."
Firestar	"That's where I get into trouble. When things don't always fit the world's rules. There are enough mutants out there I have to see we are something a little differeent. A sort of branch in the evolutionary track. I guess I should see magic and those that use of it should be its own branch too."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz smiles as she nods, "Well there is also other worlds and stuff. If you think of several worlds all overlaping with each other, all interacting with each other, it makes a lot more sense why weird stuff happens so often. Though that probably doesn't help explain any of it."
Firestar	Chuckling softly she admits,"Too much thinking and I will be catatonic in the morning and I have to prep for both my classes that I am teaching in the fall and get ready for the ones I am taking at NYU." Another sip of her coffee and something buzzes. Again, where in the world the small, thin phone was is anyone's guess. She studies the screen and reaches for her mask,"Duty calls. An old friend needing my help." She settles the mask and offers a hand to shake again,"It was a pleasure to meet you Isis. If you are ever back this way, come to Xavier's Institute and ask for Angel..." she shrugs and adds,"Angelica...they will know how to find me."
Adrianna Tomaz	Adrianna Tomaz shakes her hand with a smile, "It was a pleasure to meet you, and I am sure we will run into each other again. I don't come around here that often, but I do stop by every once in a while."
Firestar	"Look forward to it." she offers as she soars into the night an full tilt. Her posture showed worry as much as her face, but that's the life.
