Juggernaut THREE DAYS AGO:

"Alright fellas. I did that favor for you a few weeks back. Did you come through for me? And there better not be any ninjas this time."

"Yes sir, We followed your directions, scoped it all out and verified it just like you said. It's experimental but the output matches all the parameters you were given and--"

"Alright already. Thanks. So where is it?"

"Um. an R&D S.T.A.R. Labs facility, and, um.."

"..In Metropolis?"

"..Yes..."

"....You gotta be kidding me.."

NOW:

S.T.A.R. Labs is not without various sites where experiments are conducted and technology is explored. Multiple such locations exist throughout the world let alone here in Metropolis where they are headquarterd. This one particular location, near the city outskirts, was a newly established one and a sight to behold. The talk of the egghead and community. Keyword: Was a sight to behold.

Now a hole has been blown into the roof of the building as if some great meteor had crashed into it. Earthquake warning systems were triggered upon the impact. Windows blown out and the entire area depressed inward into an expanding sinkhole that wrecked the structural integrity of the facility. Even now the plumes of dust continues to rise as various alarms ring out and various law enforcement agencies are alerted.

Given the exterior damage and the rumbling quakes, those agencies are likely to not be enough for whatever's going on in there.
Clark Kent S.T.A.R. Labs has a lot of different things. This includes a security system that has alarms that run at different frequencies. It doesn't take long before something streaks through the sky and lands on the outside of the facility. "Does anyone have eyes on what' inside?" Superman asks the local cops that happened to be in the area. Two unlucky officers that are in the right place, right time, but maybe the wrong situation.

"No video yet. It went off like a meteor," one of the officers replies.

Then Superman starts to go toward the new skylight and float down cautiously. He's not sure what to expect. Ths thing could be anything. Gotham has crazy in spades. Metropolis has powerful and determined.
Juggernaut The gigantic hole leads down to the sub-levels, bypassing the lobby and more mundane floors of offices and various day to day affairs which, thankfully, allowed those still present to begin evacuating once the attack began.

The sub levels haven't fared quite so well. Indeed, they look like something akin to kaiju themed disaster zone at the moment and the Man of Steel has by now long detected the sound of S.T.A.R.S. own security forces opening fire upon something..or someone rather around what used to pass for sub-level four in the buildings development section. Down there, the place is a mess. Massive holes in the walls, entire collapsed sections and gigantic sink holes are the elements of the day and considering the massive footprints embedded into the reinforced floors of the facility...and it becomes quickly apparent just why.

"Live and lear soldier boys!" bellows the deep voice of the culprit. One monstrous Juggernaut, making his way down a large hallway towards a vault door His brooklyn brawler bass voice quaking the area along with his steps as he walks forward through an array of lancing energy blasts being unleashed by the terrified S.T.A.R. security detail.

To his credit he doesn't make any directed murderous attacks on them but neither does he stop his approach to the vualt. They quickly duck aside as he passes them and reaches the vualt.

"Everybody out whose gettin' out! I aint warning again!" He reaches for the metallic frame. It's probably of some reinforced super metal or alloy of some sort but..does it really matter? Fingers as thick as tree branches plunge forward and sink into the metal as if it were clay. There's a horrendous wrenching sound as the entire vault entrance and walls connected begin to warp and twist as the behemoth pulls back and begins to wrench the entire contraption free with all the effort of ripping wet tissue paper. He remains blissfully ignorant of the incoming heroic figure.
Clark Kent Floor after floor goes by as he lowers himself. Seeing the destruction sharpens his senses. The kryptonan lowers down more as it feels lke something akin to Godzilla should be down here.

Landing on the ground Superman hears Juggernaut's voice. Moving toward the big Superman clears his throat, "I'm not going anywhere."

And then he waits for the inevitable. When an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. Those sky blue eyes waiting with a firm gaze knowing Juggernaut is going to be anythng, but reasonable.
Juggernaut This is a different caliber of heroism, that's for sure. So many would have probably launched right at the giant brute without bothering to say anything. Hs cousin included.

His presence also bolsters the guards who quickly pull themselves together, emboldened by the quiet determined confidence of the Man of Steel and shuffling rapidly to put him between them and the crimson behemoth.

For his part, Juggernaut swivels and turns about, holding the huge vault door over his head as debris rains down and the walls crack behind him. The building quakes again but seems to stablize itself as if catching a breath before the two titans clash.

Behind Juggernaut, a wide open storage facility can be seen. In particular a large inactive generator of some sort in the middle of the room. Magnetic coils and fusion power sources would be easily detected by any sort of x-ray scan and no doubt Superman's experience with such technologies would allow him to easily identify it as some sort of force field or stasis field generator.

"Huh. Figures. Met your cousin before. Both of 'em." rumbles the giant, sniffing abit and rubbing his nose with the back of his hand.

"Man, I knew Metropolis was going to be a pain. Listen, pal, you know who I am right? How about you just...y'know... look the other way for three minutes. Me and my friends will be outta your hair."

Mind you, he's alone so the 'friends' part is perhaps abit nebulous.
Clark Kent Superman didn't expect the Juggernaut to continue pulling at the doors. Rarely does someone continue when they realize Superman's there. It doesn't quite baaffel him, but the shock does fill his head. The expression doesn't show it.

"No. Should I?" Superman asks with earnest confusion in his voice. It's a lie, he knows, but maybe it'll hurt Juggernaut's ego. That's why Superman's going with this taactic.

"Can't," Superman says firmly, pulls back and goes for haymaker with the right fist. Since Juggernaaut s holding something with -both- hands does increase his chances of landing this shot. And Superman's holding little back on this shot. The Juggernaut can take it, right?
Juggernaut He's right about that alright. A bruised ego is indeed a big bruising as Juggernaut's deliberate attempt to unsettle The Man of Steel by dismissing his presence backfires.

"Wha.. Whaddya mean -no--" he begins - until Superman blurs into action, cutting him off and that swing comes in.

Instinct causes his vast body to brace just before the impact and while Juggernaut can -indeed- take it.. The environment around them is another story all together.

Indeed as the blow lands, it causes him to release the vault door and it goes tumbling upwards to embed violently into a far wall on its way back down. Meanwhile the shockwave from the impact of the two behemoths ripples out and away from them both like an expanding bubble, forcing the walls wide and shakin the whole building. The guards, to near still and not withdraw far enough away, go tumbling further down the hallway, one getting briefly pinned under falling debris.

As to Juggernaut, perhaps to Superman's surprise for to meet the behemoth is often far more the what stories say, he not only weathers that first blow but slides back only a few paces, heels digging into the ground as the force of a richter scale measurable quake ripples into the room.

"His own fist then comes around. A gigantic bridge support cable sized limb that swings up and down again, massive limb attempting to pile drive Superman into the ground like a tent peg as the Avatar of Cyttorak counters attack with a bellowing, "Well yer gonna learn my name -now-!"
Clark Kent Superman sees how the blow only sends Juggerneat back a little bit. Yes, Superman has been debriefed about the Juggernaut by those cousins. Red armor. A moving mountain of a man. Maybe earned the name "Unstoppable." Yet, actually seeing the story, not just hearing about it secondhand, is a completely different animal. This momentarily stuns Superman.

Then the first comes down like a hammer and knocks Superrman down into, and through the floor. And Superman will vanish into the darkness. ti take a bit, but when Superman stops mving downard he pushes upward and flies through the hole, leading wth his fist. Driving an uppercut into Juggernaut. Neither are holding back.
Juggernaut Wouldn't you know it? Superman's also more then the stories say he is. Juggernaut frowns, noting the force of his blow and the departure of the Man of Steel but knowing good and well that didn't put him down.

"Power dampners are offline, Mr. Naut! We're ready!" Resounds a voice into his ear piece.

Snarling, Juggernaut says, "Hurry up! This is why I didn't want to -do- Metropolis for this! More trouble then it's worth!"

There's a blur of movement and a loud *TWHOOOM* and Superman's fist connects into the torso of the behemoth with the upperward swing just as he comes out of the hole.

Speed and power work in concert to actually lift the giant up from his feet this time and he thunders upwards and then back down again in a wide arc that sends him backwards into the open vaulted room , crashing ultimately into a far wall with a snarled and contorted expression on his face as equipment folds around him and sparks fly.

"Damn.. ..Ugh..gonna have to actually put some work into this.."

The force of the blow causes part of the ceiling in the hallway to come down. The titans -are- exchanging full powered blows under ground in a compromised building and the guards were still there.

"Superman!" shouts one, leg pinned by debris as the wall begins to come in on him.
