Magneto Following the unsuccessful attempt to destroy the Segment of Death in the desert with the assistance of Alex Summers and Lorna Dane, Magneto made his way back to the Serpent's Den. His plan was to convene with the Whisperer, Lorna, and Tabitha to discuss their next course of action.
Lorna Dane Lorna Dane isn't too keen on this shady pub but she's even less keen on having a dangerous segment floating around. After Alex failed to destroy it, it's time to reconvene and figure out the next step..Hopefully Magneto has something in mind.

She steps in, dressed in purple pants, a black shirt and matching hoodie which covers her green hair, not wanting to stand out too much as she looks around for the Lord if magnetism.
Tabitha Smith Hanging out in some dingy old dive bar is nothing new to Tabitha smith. Even this particular dive bar. They've been in and out of it so much it's almost become a second headquarters for the various mutants that have been working on this whole mess.

Coming in with Lorna, Tabby might have had her outfit considered loud but having been out in the dusty streets of Cairo, her red jeans and long sleeved yellow hooded jogging top had dulled a little. Her yellow tinted glasses eliminating glare and any schmutz blowing in her face from outside while she dusts out her ponytailed hair. "Soo, I doubt my power is gonna help destroy it. We could always just yeet it a few planes of existence over from this one?" she suggests softly.
Magneto Lorna and Tabitha enter the room to find Magneto in conversation with the man known as the Whisperer.

"It could potentially work," Magneto responds to Tabitha's suggestion, his expression thoughtful. "However, it seems rather unaffected by mutant powers as it is. I'm not sure that it would work."

The Whisperer interjects, "In the meantime, I have managed to get some replicas made. We could always go with the plan of hiding the real one amongst the replicas and keeping them all on the move."

Magneto nods, his gaze focused.

Although, anyone with a replica would be in danger, no matter who has the real segment."
Lorna Dane Lorna Dane arches a brow, "Get Illyana or Pixie to port it to a hell dimension? assuming no one there uses it to revive Apocalypse? Still it's a thought.." she shrugs, "What about magic? isn't it made of magic even?"

She joins Magneto and the Whisper at the table looking tired and frustrated. "We could, but that will only buy us time..And we areXmen, we know what we signed up for, it's part of our job."
Tabitha Smith The blonde woman grins and takes a seat, getting herself about as comfortable as she can. Which isn't all that comfy really. "If mutant powers don't do squat. We throw some tech or magic at it. More than one way to peel an apple." she points out.

"If the goal is now just keep away, like the fakes we have options. I'm down to run around with one. It's gonna be a risk for anyone but at least I can fight. And fight dirty if I need to. And sell the con if I do get beat and the thing yoinked." she adds.
Magneto "Well, mutant powers are far superior to magic and tech, and if they don't work, I doubt magic or tech would work," Magneto replied, his confidence in mutant abilities clear.

"I think the only option for now is to delay the cult from completing the sceptre," he continued, his tone resolute. "Perhaps, given time, we would be able to track down and defeat the members of the cult. We may not be able to destroy the sceptre, but perhaps we can put a stop to them."
Lorna Dane Lorna Dane sighs and nods, "If you think that is best. Then Alex and I can take one of them..Should they come looking in mutant town, we will be ready..In the meantime are there any leads on the next piece? exactly how many pieces are there, anyway?"
Tabitha Smith Complete mutant supremacy kind of makes Tabitha smirk and arch an eyebrow with an incredulous look. "I've see too much stuff to believe that Maggy. It's totally a Rock Paper Scissors deal. And we might be the Scissors hitting the Rock this time. So we find the Paper." she states.

They'll figure something out.

"Once we got the real one stashed probably should get you to haul about with a fake, Magneto. You're gonna be a high profile target. So off loading the real one in the mean time we'll need to figure out."
Magneto Magneto frowned at Lorna, his expression showing his regret. "It seems that I forgot to fill you in on that part of the situation. There are four pieces of the Sceptre of Eternity: the Segment of Death, the Segment of War, the Segment of Pestilence, and the Segment of Famine. The rest of the pieces are said to be laid to rest in different countries. We had decided that we don't know if Clan Akkaba has managed to recover the rest of the pieces or not. So, instead of traveling looking for pieces that might not be there anymore, we should deal with the Segment of Death to prevent the reconstruction of the sceptre."
Lorna Dane Lorna Dane arches a brow. "Oh I see, then three more, well I suppose it makes sone kind of sense to only focus on the one. So how realistic are these fake pieces? As long as we focus on advertising those as the real deal it should buy us some time but for what?"
Tabitha Smith "I'd have figured those Akkabalama ding dongs already have the other bits of the dinguses, dingii." Tabby says in a suggestion of possible current events. "So keep away is probably safest. death sounds like the most important bit, so as long as they don't get that, any attempt to use a fake is probably gonna back fire on them." she adds and hmmms.

The hope that hilarity ensues. "Then we just hide the real dealio where no one would think, let alone want to look. Like say and as example my... toy chest." she adds with an awkward grin on her features. "Just an example. Somewhere it would be easily overlooked."
