Jacen Jacen seems to be everywhere. Right now, he is helping to get someone out of a car that has been trapped after hitting a power pole. Unfortunately the car is mangled well and the fire department hasn't arrived. Jaws of life will be needed by appearances.

When the rest are busy talking about it, trying to get the fire department there, he walks over to the car and checks the vitals on the person trapped in the car.
Sarah Connor Sarah was only there by chance. And in truth, she looks at the accident, guesses how long until the police arrive, and is already planning her escape'

She and authorities do not get along.

Still, she notices Jacen was there. Half-laughing to herself, she notes, once again, to herself, that, "He sure gets around."

Maybe if she drifts to the back of the onlooker, where she won't be noticed, but he sure as well would? It's been sometime since she saw someone like Charley. And let's be honest, the last time she had a chance, she was the victim.
Jacen Since nobody is paying close attention, he reaches up and touches the necklace under his shirt. The spirit bear rises into the ether to roar in silence. The stuck metal is severed and the person is free.

Looking over his shoulder,"You morons need ta start lifting weights or something." he hollers at them,"Gimme a th' seated extraction device an' a number two neckbrace." There must have been enough noise for people to not notice the sound or see what he did. Sarah might have.
Sarah Connor Well, well, well. That explains a few things. He was a mutant. Or close enough. Something to do with that pouch. Come to think of it, he probably wasn't a mutant. Interesting.

Still, Sarah stood well behind the crowd, so she could slip away, pronto/

But you have to admit, it was a nifty trick with his job.
Jacen Carefully, he puts a cervicle collar in place and then slides a strange contraption that looks like a thin chair, a KED. He slides the mechanism in and starts locking webbed straps around the patient's legs, waist, chest, and neck to hold them steady. A gurney is pulled to them and tw of them get the patient out and seated on the gurney.
Sarah Connor Heh. Sarah had seen some weird contraptions. What with the terminators coming from the future. Hell, some of her guns were not technically legal - not just because they were semi automatics, but also because there was no class to put them under.

Now that he had the accident victim in the gurney she imagined the crowd would disappear. And Jacen would take the victim to the hospital.

She prepared to go, herself.
Jacen They get the patient loaded and Jacen shakes his head. One more on the way. He closes the doors and walks away from the ambulance. What can't be normal is the fact the ambulance drives away and he slides over the back of a motorcycle.

He starts it up and puts it in gear. Just as he is starting to drive away, he pauses and he reaches into the bag. He takes something up and out for a moment and his eyes go distant. A smirk and he puts it back,"Y'r lookin' better'n last time." he calls oddly and shuts the bike down again as people start to disperse. One cop and a tow truck finally arrive and they attend to the wreck."
Sarah Connor She had just slipped into the opening of the nearest alleyway when he notices her. Sarah shrugs with a faint smile. "I thought you were on the ambulance. My bad. But you might have to excuse me for not giving you a hug."

Amongst other things.

"What happened?"
Jacen "We're testin' a new system. I ride out w'th basic gear I c'n carry an' make it ta accidents sooner. Dunno if it'll fly'r not." he explains,"Spares me havin' ta go to th' hospitals'n deal with arrogant doctors'n cranky nurses."

"Yeah. It's prolly better ta not anyway. Mighta got blood on me fr' th' accident." He glances at the wreck and he shrugs,"Didn' smell alcohol, so I'm guessin' he fell asleep drivin'."
Sarah Connor She nods as she thinks. "It might be useful? Don't know. I'm usually more on the active side of those accidents."

"Blood is. Nothing to be ashamed of - especially your job." But when she hears the probable cause she nods. "Figures. Though it is fairly early for that." Not that you would it, but Sarah rarely drinks, and most often only at her home.
Jacen "It's useful, jus' not sure it'll catch on." he tells her with a shrug,"No shame'n blood. I jus' don' want you gettin' it on you since neither of us knows if it's tainted'r not. Too early f'r drinkin' f'r sure, but I've seen stanger things."
Sarah Connor "True, though you don't seem to have loads of protective gear on yourself." Sarah nods with her chin. "Do you live around here?"
Jacen He opens a saddle bag to present a box of rubber gloves, a smock that is long enough to get to his feet, and a clear shield to cover his face,"If I need't, it's here. He wasn' spurtin' 'r nothin'."

"I gotta place not too far fr'm here. Justa a coincidence I happened ta be close on this run. Still gotta coupla hours on call b'fore I c'n call it a night."
Sarah Connor "Sure, sure." But she was grinning. Damn. Grinning. Her?

"I know the on call." Wait, on call? "Usually I take my evening stroll around the metro area. It keeps me in shape. Well, in my mind it does," Come to think of it, when you were bandaging her wound she came across, when you were up front and personal, as very fit. "Keeps my brain active.

"I wasn't trying to spy on you. And yes, the wound doesn't have any abscesses. So I think I'm in the clear." Of course now he might want to check it out, just to be certain.

"I actually have your canister, if you would like?" Of course she'd have to go back to the truck to get it.
Jacen He listens to her and nods,"Can be'n interestin' walk." he suggests. A smile touches his lips and at her grinning,"If you w's spyin' on me I'd think you need a new hobby. I wasn't too worried 'bout that. I ain' so interesting."

He frowns thoughfully and swings his leg off the bike and stands. He nods towards a bus stop shelter,"Not that I don' b'lieve ya, but maybe let me have another look'n be sure."

He nods and adds,"Yeah. Sometime I'll need that back. Kinda use't a lot."
Sarah Connor Sarah backs into the alleyway. "I'm just on the other side of the alleyway. C'mon." And she leads him to the other side, and quickly undoes the locks to get the canister out for him. "I didn't use much. A few puffs before I pulled away did it."
Jacen He secures the bike, pointing at the cop and then it, and then follows after her down the alley. He has a bag from off of the bike, not the personal protections equipments.

He waits for the door to unlock and he nods,"Yeah. Mostly ya jus' needed some O2 ta help getcha back on y'r feet an' it's usually one of th' easier fixes."
Sarah Connor Once she has exchanged the canister, Sarah pulled up her top and lets him look it the wound.

"I'm trying not to rip the scabs. Been changing every four hours - the outer bandages. The inner ones I replaced a few times, but it seems to have stopped bleeding so last time I left them out."
Jacen He looks at the wounds, studying how they heal. One finger probes the healing, but not causing pain. He nods and agrees,"I don' see no infection'n everythin's closed up like ya said."

The good thing about being the pro, he doesn't really take any note of anything other than the wounds,"Prolly shoulda stitched't up. Gonna scar like crazy."

That said he stands back and nods,"I think y'r gonna live."
Sarah Connor "It'll go with my others." Sarah puts her top down. And if she has any scars, she must cover them up. Other than that, she sound like she's joking.

She might be?

Though, the care that she took sounds like it wasn't her first rodeo.

"I was trying to think what would have happened if you decided that I was a goner." Her tones are a bit strained when she tried to make light of that point.
Jacen "If I thought you w's a goner, I'd loaded you'n th' truck'n drove ya to th' hospital m'self." he replies simply. If he noticed any other scars, he doesn't mention it. Merely chalks it up to life. He gets the cylinder and sets it by the door,"Don' wanna over step, but once ya lose conciousness it's parta th' job."
Sarah Connor "I don't lose consciousness." At least not very, very often. Her fitness program helps with that.

Sarah shakes her head. "I don't get you. You haven't asked me anything about myself, yet I would be almost certain you do not provide care this way to just anyone. Why?"
Jacen "That'd be handy." he replies to her about not losing conciousness.

A shake of his head as well and he tells her,"Sometimes folks gotta have their own space. I've provided care'n th' field when it w's needed, but I don' make a habit of it. I ain' a doctor after all."
Sarah Connor "It's been my observation that you people often know more things than a doctor."

Sarah couldn't remember when she had a doctor taking care of her - even at the mental hospital.

"I appreciate all that you did." except for that part where she was burning a body. That he wasn't bothered by it should be disconcerting. Strange though, she wasn't bothered by it.
Cameron At the entrance to the alleyway, someone started to walk past then stopped. The young woman first shifted her eyes toward the alley then her head followed that movement. After, her body turned as well and she started down toward the duo within. Dark eyes shifted, taking in everything. Him examining the wound, the fact that Sarah HAS a wound, the conversation that was ongoing which she could pick up even at this distance.

She looked like the girl next door. Dark hair, dark eyes, wearing jeans with a pair of boots to deal with winter conditions. A heavy coat hid whatever she wore on her upper body. "Mom?" And there was concern in that tone, as her face shifted to an expression to match it. "Are you okay? What happened?"

And she was looking at Jacen suspiciously now, as though he might be the cause of what she saw there. Even if he was the one fixing it so that was unlikely. Cameron trusted people about as much as Sarah. Maybe less.
Jacen "We tend ta be up in th' real chaos. Tend ta bring it ta th' hospital f'r them ta deal with. So there's that." he agrees and stands right again,"Id' say y'r good ta go. Jus' watch f'r infections 'til it's all nice'n scarred. If ya get one, do somethin' 'bout. Don' screw around. That close ta y'r lung and heart..."

He frowns and turns at the sound of a voice. His face eases once he's seen the one calling her mom. He doesn't miss the suspicion, but he doesn't do aything to make it worse, deliberately anyway.
Sarah Connor Jesus Christ on a cracker. Cameron.

Calling her.. Mom??

And Sarah has to go along with it. Greeaaat?

Quickly she put a smile on her face, as though Cameron was her daughter. "Nothing bad. This man came across me in the bush where I cut myself. He fixed it."

Of course the gunshot wound wasn't from the bushes. And it most definitely was not a cut. The other thing that was true was that Jacen had dressed it in.

Cameron knows this.

Now she has a face to put together with the name.

There was trust, and there was TRUST. So far Jacen had a modicum of Sarah's trust.

"Say hello to Jacen. He works as a paramedic. Like Charley did." Does? "This is my daughter Cameron."
Cameron "Jacen. Nice to meet you," Cameron said automatically, pasting on the polite smile that went along with the words. AFter all, her 'mother' approved of him. Trusted him enough she was letting him tend her wounds.

Sarah tended to not let anyone tend to her if she could help it. She was a wee bit stubborn. If by wee one meant something the size of a right whale.

Technically Mom was her main cover thus why she had chosen to use that term for Sarah. Though, admittedly, she could've used anything. Sarah didn't tend to like it. That couldn't have any bearing in Cameron using it anyway though, right? After all, she couldn't be acting in an emotional way.
Jacen Looking between them, Jacen seems a little confused. The numbers don't add up, but he doesn't ask questions. A fast way to alienate people, ask questions that don't concern you.

"Nice ta mecha too Cameron." he replies,"Your mom seems ta be mendin' up well. Jus' makin' sure she ain' drawin' no infections."
Sarah Connor Sarah still has the smile plastered all over her face. "Come on now, you're going to make Cameron think my cut is really a gunshot wound." Giving Jacen a stern look, as though telling him please don't get my daughter worried.

Of course, Cameron already knew about the gunshot.

This would be easier if Jacen could be trusted. And frankly, it would take a lot more to win her over.

At least she doesn't think he's a terminator. That one was big.
Cameron "Hopefully we don't have to worry about those...bushes in the future."

Cameron was referring to something other than the flora. She knew exactly what had happened to Sarah but she wanted to be certain that what had done it was no longer on the equation.

In essence, if it was, Cameron would be departing immediately.

"Thank you for helping her, Jacen. She doesn't always take care of herself properly. Too busy looking out for the rest of us." She didn't say John's name. It was not something she was going to offer up to anyone without them knowing it first.
Jacen He smirks a little and pushes his hat back someone,"Well I wouldn' wanna have'r thinkin' it's worse th'n it is." he agrees,"Nothin' ta worry 'bout."

He nods to Cameron and tells her,"It's what I do. Help people. Whether they like't 'r not sometimes." He winks at Sarah and adds,"Lookin' like y'all need ta do some catchin' up an' I gotta get back on th' road b'fore I'm missed."
Sarah Connor "You make it sound so wrong. Besides I have you, do I not? I fixed the actual bushes that were giving me some troubles. I was wandering down main street in the town outside of Gotham, when it hit me how to fix the problem. I didn't have to stay out all night as I was afraid of. See?"

Cameron was correct. Sarah was paranoid to the nth degree. And to trust someone to help her - be it fighting, fixing a wound, or checking out something - Sarah preferred to do it herself. The only thing she didn't argue was letting John do the computer stuff. Let's face it, he was a bona fide whiz with computers.

"Of course. Silly me. Thank you, Jacen."
Cameron "No catching up required. Was just here to pick her up from work," Cameron offered with another of those smiles. But then she was looking over at Sarah as she gave a little nod about the bushes being dealt with.

"You don't have to rush off unless you really need to." So he didn't feel like he was interfering in their time. After all, Cameron and Sarah saw each other all the time. But if they wanted some privacy, she could easily move out of the way.

Because it was kind of interesting to see Sarah not trying to run away from someone at top speed. Unfortunately, that also meant that Jacen now had Cameron's attention. Which meant, she was going to be doing some digging.
Jacen "I kinda do. I'm on th' clock'n on th' hook with an experimental assignment to the local hospital. Reckon I'd better get back." he replies.

He touches the bone necklace under his shirt and then one hand palms the oxygen cylinder by the door and settles it onto his shoulder,"Y'all take care. Nice meetin' ya Cameron. Sarah see ya 'round."
