Lois Lane     It is an eventful Thursday. Lois got a late assignment, but with remarkable planning and the use of an uber and mobile internet, she gets the interview done, hammers out the story, and submits it to Perry all in short order. It is no Pulitzer story, but she is proud of her work.

She fires off a happy text on the ride home, "Story went well. The kid interviewed very well, too. Not many eight-year-olds who are smart enough to get emergency services there in time to save a sick parent and deal with an interview just hours later. I'll be home by seven. If traffic wasn't so bad I'd be home already!"

This gives her time to stare out the window. It's only ten minutes more, she thinks. Then she'll be home again. Home to just.. relax.
Clark Kent Clark is at home panning over a few different things. One is a very old looking book that's handwritten. A folder of different files on people. Clark still has the glasses on, the sleeves to his shirt are rolled up, the tie is undone, the jacket and vest are off.

Dull blue eyes continue to just roam over everything. After a few moments he rubs his eyes. He's not seeing some connections while it feels like the pieces are starring right at him. It bothers him. It bugs him. He's not seeing something or even overthinking something.

Breathing out, he shuts the book and just waklks away from the work desk just needing a moment to think about something else. Anything else.
Lois Lane     Lois' key hits the lock around this time. But then, Clark probably heard her coming! There's a bit of a struggle with the door as she awkwardly juggles her coat and bag. She's usually a bit more organized, admittedly. But she was eager to get home, too.

Once she gets inside, she will call out, "I'm home!" It is totally unnecessary. She knows that. "I hope delivery is okay. I have no..." She will see that Clark is working. "Oh wow, is this a new one?" she asks, immediately hooked by her curiousity.
Clark Kent "Off the record, Prison Break at Blackgate. A small group of villains. They freed another group of villains and something else," Clark says and he rubs at the temples. "It's that something else that doesn't make complete sense. And everything I've heard is rumor," he breathes out and shkes his head. Trying to pivot off of this, "What did you get us?" he says wanting to flee from the conversation when Lois may want to run toward it.
Lois Lane     "Oh, it's Chinese, from the place down the street. The one that just opened last week. I know, never order from a new place, but I heard it was safe. No food poisoning in sight!"

Lois /does/ want to ask so many questions, but she also can read Clark. So instead of that, she walks up to him and winds her arms around him. She wants to just settle into his steadiness. He is, to her, a rock, her foundation, someone to cling to in any storm. While today was good for her, she will always need this.

"How about we put on some music and curl up on the couch together," she suggests.
Clark Kent "You sure?" Clark asks as he is al ittle unsure. Like something about this he doesn't believe. Like he knows she has questiosn and is shocked Lois isn't asking oen, more two. Then he looks at her. "I'd like that, but I want you to be you, too," Clark says knowing there are some.
Lois Lane     "I can be me after. Honestly, if we somehow solved it now you'd have to fly off and be stuck eating warmed up food from the microwave." Lois shakes her head. "I'm sure. Besides, who I am can change, right? I like to think it has already. I haven't had so many nights of proper sleep in years. Honestly I cannot think of a time when I did. Since everyone seems to think I'm pregnant, they are extra supportive. At first I was irritated, but, well, sometimes you have to let people help you and suck it up. Even if they are doing so based on false assumptions. No matter how many times I tell them I'm perfectly capable of carrying my own bag."
Clark Kent Clark is just quizzical for a moment. "It feels odd to be on the opposite foot of the 'you need to rest your eyes' argument," he figures this is Loi's way of saying that. Clark and her have had this talk in the past. however, yhe's the one that tells her to step away, eat, feel normal. Now, it's Lois doing this. Those eyes flick toward her. "Alright. So, what did you get?"
Lois Lane     "Sesame chicken, orange chicken, and mongolian beef," says Lois. "I ordered extra so that we might have it for lunch tomorrow. Just in case I'm too tired to prepare something for us." She laughs and shameslessly holds onto Clark. She doesn't say kiss me, but her every indication is that she'd like that very much.

"So let's put on some music..." She calls out to the handy smart speaker to play her soft jazz list. Yes, she has a soft jazz list. With that playing, she lets out a soft sigh. "You know, it's nice. Having nights together. It used to never happen. I... I am sorry for that. But I will not beat myself up, Smallville, so you don't have to worry. I learned my lesson."
Clark Kent Kissing her softly, he sighs a little bit. "Sesame me," Clark says with n amused smirk. That sounds cheesy, even for him. Then the jazz starts up. "We're both to blame, but don't be afraid to have them here and there," he doesn't want Lois losing herself int his moemnt later. Clark knows she's tryuing to find balance so he's making sure she stays on one side of it than going toof ar on the other.
Lois Lane     "You are totally adorkable sometimes, Clark," Lois replies. Still, it truly works. She's kissing him. She'll be doing that for the rest of her life, she hopes. But before she can get lost in that moment, there is the knock at the door. It's a no-contact delivery, so the food is drawn in without even a sight of the delivery driver. Just how Lois wants it to be.

"When circumstances demand that I work late, or that you work late, both of us will do that. But my promise is to actually take the few seconds of time to /tell/ you. And to not invent fake urgency." She wants to curl up in his lap right away, but there is the matter of food. She's using the living room coffee table, though, not the kitchen table. It's a lazy, relaxed night!

"So first, my husband must get his sesame chicken. Oh, I hope white rice is okay. I'm staying within the parameters of my diet." And no, she's not even complaining about it. Baby dreams trump all in her mind right now. It's really showing, too. Her skin is healthier, her body is not leaner, exactly, but a better, more natural shape.
Clark Kent A nod comes from Clark beofre theys tart to kiss. Then she is off to get the door. And so Clark just waits for a few moments. He wants to know see what she will do now. Honestly, it makes Clark curious about a few things. Then she talks about wanting to to do things with out fake crisises and anything else. Honestly, it's porgress from Lois.

Then he nods, "I prefer white rice," Clark says honestly so there's no worries or issues there. He knows why Lois gets white rice. Clark wants to say a few things about it, but he decides not to at the moment. Dull blue eyes lookingat her as he goes to get a place for the meal.
Lois Lane     She also fetches drinks. She is drinking iced tea. It's decaf, of course. Lois really has changed a lot in that department. Clark is probably the only one who realizes how hard it is for her to change. Prior to her big wake up call, she really hadn't changed much at all since they met.

"So I was curious about something," she says. "Not work curious, but like, a normal person curious. Do you think we can convince Kara to visit more often? I would love to spend more time with her. She's such a good kid. And Lar is great, too. There's a standing invite, but I am not sure if that's really specific enough. Kids can be a bit more formal sometimes, or might just think I'm saying that to be polite."
Clark Kent "We could, but she has her own responsibilities. I think she would want to visit more," Clark knows there are things out of her control. And those would be what keeps her away.

"She is a great kid. I want her to be around more, but that blal is in her court, too," Clark knows that she would be around more if possibel.
Lois Lane     Lois nods thoughtfully. She will then settle on the couch and get the food ready. And dig in. She's good with her chopsticks, but she tends to use them to gesture, which isn't the best of etiquette. It's just... her.

"So that's understandable. I'll just, make sure she knows I'm available. To help or talk or whatever." She falls silent, but only for a moment. Processing some thought or other, no doubt.

"Oh, I met a great kid today. She was brave, handled a difficult situation with grace and she told me to ask if Superman might say hello sometime. She seemed to be under the impression this is something I can easily make happen."

She laughs softly, giving Clark a curious look. "And while I know Superman is... very busy, too, I think I could make it worth his while to grant me this favor." Lois has her charming wiles to use, after all.
