Kurt Wagner A long breath in, and a long breath out. School was starting soonish, and those of the students who had left home for home in the summer were trickling back in, bit by bit. And so the outdoors was starting to fill with children of all ages, whether they be teens or higher, laughter and conversation as people socialize no doubt rich in the area.

We did say children of all ages, right? Some could say that Kurt was yet a child by heart - a man who enjoyed laughter and pranks as much as the next person - even if he had deadly serious moments.

And having carved out a peace of the backyard for himself, he was... hanging upside down off of a tree branch, his tail wrapped around the branch for support, his big feet clutching the branch tightly. And what was he reading? The book's title was obvious, held in front of him like that. 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.
Blink Clarice had a curious streak as wide as... Well as /her/ really. And the more she heard about Xavier's school, the more she'd wanted to see. Despite numerous dressing downs about how they're 'soft' and the like, or how she might never get out again once she went... Well, courage was also one of her qualities. At least that's what she told herself, it certainly wasn't /stubbornness/. Well, not /just/ that anyway.

And so it was, dressed in purple skinny jeans, her normal soft brown turned down boots and a black tee, the purple mutant opens a portal... To high above the School. It's a bird's eye view almost, a way for her to see a safe place to sneak in and take a quick peek. In and out, no one need ever know...

Spotting a patch of grass that seems empty, the window closes with a -Blink!- only for another to appear, the teen jumping through before she loses her neves... Not five feet from where Kurt hangs reading. Well /crap/. Maybe if she just sneaks backwards he won't even notice her...
Dani Moonstar Dani was just walking along the path, minding her own business. It's not quite time for classes to start yet, after all, and the senior was taking advantage of the lull to get some time outside before being cooped up in the classrooms. Which is how she ended up walking by Kurt, almost not noticing him before doing a quick double-take, and also seeing the book he was reading. Then she grinned, saying, "The lunatic, the lover, and the poet, are of imagination all compact." With that, she stops her walking, looking at Kurt as she seems unfazed by the fact he's hanging upside down.

Blink, she hasn't seen yet... the key word being yet, of course, the Cheyenne girl dressed rather casually in a blue denim shirt and jeans. No uniform or Valkyrie armor here!
Kurt Wagner Kurt himself was dressed for range of motion and casual comfort. That meant a pair of beige shorts, and a white t-shirt over the top, everything tucked in and held together with a leather belt, complete with a gold buckle. And he went without shoes, (perhaps obviously). And Kurt himself was starting to get way too used to people just... popping in on him.

Maybe he was best suited for it, with the way he himself popped everywhere.

Eyes popping open when that window opens up - and closes again, Kurt's eyes track towards the window - that tail around the branch uncurling from around it. In case he had to leap down. Blink was /probably/ a new student that he hadn't quite seen yet. Probably.

So with the surprise passed, Kurt raises a hand, 'lowering' his book down his inverted form so he can grin a fangy grin over towards Blink. "Guten dag!" he calls to her, his eyes tracking towards Clarice's own - noting, perhaps, the tension involved with her sneaking. He was kinda used to looks like that, to the extent that he may have misinterpreted her hesitance. Now his feet release. Easily, Kurt flips upside down (rightside up), landing upon his legs, the book snapping shut.

Still with that impish grin, he bows forward, flourishing his arm to one side in a comical manner. "Welcome to the backyard - please don't let me bother you. I am not nearly as frightening as I look," he says.

And he finally turns his eyes to Dani again. "So you already know the play?" he asks, canting his head to one side. "Tell me then, Dani - which is your favorite?"
Blink Drat drat and double drat. Not only foolish enough to port in at the beginning of the /day/, but spotted in the first minute! Well, nothing for it now, time to fake it till you make it!

The elfin eared mutant straightens, giving Kurt her best Blase Grin. "Hey cutie! I'm Clarice." Mister Creed's lessons in infiltration echos back to her; 'If yer seen, act like ya belong'... And so, she does. Bold as brass walking up to the two other mutants with that bright grin in her pinky-purple face.

"I like Puck, he's not in long, but he really sets the scene as the mischievous narrator... Though I couldn't quote any of it." She slips into the conversation seemlessly, after all, they don't need to know she's only seen the film!
Dani Moonstar Dani smiles, "Well, I was reading it this week, after you mentioned Shakespeare the... other day." Her smile fades a bit, as she tries to focus on the good parts of that conversation and not other things, then she continues at Kurt's prompting,

"If we shadows have offended,
Know but this and all is mended.
That you have but slumbered here,
While these visions did appear,
And this weak and idle theme,
No more yielding, but a dream."

Then she grins and looks over at Blink, "Wow, hi there. You're a new student? We have a bunch of them coming in this year it seems. I'm Danielle, but everyone calls me Dani." With that, she extends a hand towards the purple elven girl, not even seeming to notice nor care that she's... well, a purple elf. Then she perks up, "Wait, you know Shakespeare too?" She gives Kurt a conspiratorial glance, her smile growing a bit as she seems to be thinking of /something/.
Kurt Wagner 'Cutie'? At least he knew he wasn't frightening!

As a teacher, Kurt could feel himself suddenly in the middle of a minefield, if Blink herself was actually a student. She certainly seemed young enough for one, and he knew his elves. With a little bit of laughter, Kurt gives his head a shake, his grin sparking a bit brighter - showing fang. "I'm Professor Kurt Wagner," he says.

Although he wasn't really a professor - but he had /no idea/ what sort of crazy titles and things went with academia, or where or when they were used. "Welcome to you as well, Clarice," he says, gesturing from her to Dani. "And it seems, perhaps, like you've found a fellow dramaphile - do you just like the Bard, or are you fond of other kinds of musicals and plays...?" he says.

That little catch at the end of his voice? It comes with the conspiritorial look Dani was shooting him, and Kurt kinda quirks his head to the side, looking back to Dani.
Blink Bluff called, time to fess up. "Uh, actually I caught the film one night... We don't get much on Genosha but it-" Well that's torn it. Giving up all pretence at being a student, Blink falls back on her norm; blunt honesty.

"Heh... Yeah, thing is I'm not a new student." Her Barbadian accent makes the words sound warmer than they might otherwise, especially as she blossoms that grin back in place. Sometimes having glowing green eyes that people can't read is a Godsend!

"But I helped out Gambit the other week, he said I should come over and see the place sometime..." Her hands go wide, palms up a 'this is me' pose. "So here I am... Nice to meet you Kurt, and you Dani. It looks /amazing/ here!" That at least, all true. The house alone seemed /huge/ compared to her tiny little apartment.
Dani Moonstar Dani says to Kurt, "Well, we could /use/ more drama inclined students... by the way, I think I'd make a great Dread Pirate Roberts." She grins, and looks about to say something to Clarice when she mentions Genosha, and well, she can't help but look a little disappointed, though she doesn't lose that smile.

"Well, hey, if Mister LeBeau said you should come visit, that's perfect. If you want, we could show you around the place." When she notices that Clarice sees the size of the grounds, she adds on, "You should see the stables, too. I keep my horse, Brightwind, there. When the other students don't try to take him out for rides, that is."
Kurt Wagner The first crack in the armor of her bluff defense was mentioning Genosha. Of course Kurt had heard of that, and he cants his head to one side, the smile remaining on his features. Although the astute may determine that the smile wasn't quite as real as it was a few moments further. Then Blink fesses up entirely.

And Kurt laughs - the man liked laughter, and it was deeper than one might suspect. "You helped out Remy?" he says, his dusky, German-accented tone of voice brighter - his grin wide. "I will have to apologize for his behavior in advance - but I am grateful that you decided to visit us regardless, ja?" he says.

Folding the book under his arm, he says. "And like Genosha is meant to be a safe place for mutants and those who are different - so is Xavier's Mansion," he says, his eyes tracking between the two young women. "Are you suggesting, Dani - that we do a production of the Princess Bride?" he asks.
Blink "/Horses/!?" The elfin mutant nearly squeaks. Whatever Blase she had in place isn't holding up well under the idea that /ponies/ might be on campus. "I've not even touched one before... I mean I've /seen/ them, but, well..." Horses weren't on Genosha, at least not that she'd found yet. Island and all that.

But then Kurt's talking about Remy and Blink's cheeks flush a soft plum. "Well he /did/ kiss me, but I didn't mind that all that much..." Grin back, and she's actually /winking/ at the befanged professor. "But yeah, he was running away from some goons, so I booped him up onto a roof. Offered to send him back here, but he just ran off again!" She shrugs in a 'whatcha gonna do' kinda way.

"Now Princess Bride, /that/ is a film..." Clarice opines with a grin. "Do you have to be a student to take part?" If there's a slight note of hope in her voice... Well she really /did/ want to make some more friends.
Dani Moonstar Dani smiles at Clarice, "Well, it's really up to Mr. Wag... er, Kurt. He's in charge of the drama department." She gets a wry look, "On stage, at least. Off, it's up for debate. But yes, I do have my horse here, if you want we can walk over and see him. He loves meeting new people... mainly because he thinks they'll bring him treats." Which has yet to really be proven wrong.

Then she looks back at Kurt, "Well, I think that would be fun. Something cheerful and light, not that the Bard isn't, but..." She chuckles, "What can I say, I would love to have a chance to be Wesley." And yes, she knows that's normally a boy's part, but hey, she can probably fence better than most of the other students.
Kurt Wagner "I am certain there are rules about that somewhere - but I think that a role could be created for anyone who wishes one, within reason, ja?" says Kurt. Canting his head to one side, his tail flicks behind himself, his jaw setting to one side in thought, his strange hand coming up to stroke his chin. "So I am going to say yes for now," he says then. "You can join if you'd like."

Another moment.

"The semester hasn't started yet, so I haven't seen the schedule of classes, but if you come back later this week, I'll be able to tell you when to show up for drama class?" he says.

He would think that enabling a space for all mutants to coexist and have activities with the Xavier students might be a sneaky way of bringing them into the fold as well. Kurt grins lopsidedly at the admission. "I have heard that before, ha! Well, I am certain he is around here as well. Or if you see Rogue - she is his girlfriend."

Eyes turn to Dani, and he brings up a hand in a wave. "Perhaps. There is something to be said for the classics, though, ja?" he says.
Blink "Wait, he's got a /girlfriend/?" The way the purple girl's eyes narrow, it's clear she does not approve of this... "Well, I think I'll be having a few words with him when I next see him. Going about kissing folks and thinking he can get away from it..." Oh yes, there were several gallons of sea water with the explosive mutant's name on them. /More/ than several in fact...

As Dani starts to lead the way towards the stables, Clarice falls in beside her, apparently assuming the professor will follow along... Which is probably everyone's mistake with the jolly German, thinking that his bright grin means he's agreeing.

"So how many horses are there? What colours? Should I grab a treat for your pony?" As they walk off, it's clear to see that horses beat plays, and that the purple portaller is going to be back... At least if the big grin on her face is anything to go by...
