Owner Pose
Sarah Rainmaker     It's been a while since Sarah was actually home by herself. She's had a busy few weeks, running around dealing with various situations, in town and a bit outside. But today, her light was on, and when you arrived to knock on her window, she was happy to let you in to hang out a bit, promptly ordering a pizza and providing sodas and water depending on your preference. Since the pizza place is right down the street, it just took a quick trip to pick it up and now the lovely scene of fresh pizza fills the suite, as Sarah gnaws on a piece, using a provided paper plate to avoid making too much of a mess.
Nerina Rosso     Once you feed a stray it just keeps coming back. Sitting a chair apart from her host, the homeless youth Sarah's taken to supporting on the side is every bit as tired-eyes and scrawny as the first day they met. It's made a little worse by the lack of a watery luster smoothing out her tangled hair, but in her eyes at least is gratitude - and on the table in front of her is her second empty glass of soda and the very last of a second slice of pizza. She's folding it in half to solve her own the grease problem.

"Four years," she murmurs out of nowhere.
Sarah Rainmaker     The Amerindian girl hasn't seemed to mind, and seems fairly focused on helping with that scrawniness as much as she can. Mostly by making sure she gets some calorific food in her when she has the opportunity. At the words, she mmms? Her eyes flick to your face as she chews, then swallows. "...four years?" she prompts after a moment, setting the rest of the slice on her plate for a moment as she pauses to wipe the grease off her fingers.
Nerina Rosso     Nerina's own eyes stay on her pizza as she bites down and tears away another chunk of greasy, cheese bread. It might be cheap, but it's as good as a five star meal right now.

"I've had my powers for four years," she explains, swallowing and only then looking back to the rain caller. "That's what you wanted to know, si?"
Sarah Rainmaker     The other girl cocks her head a bit, looking thoughful. "I was curious, yes." she admits, not trying to hide it. "Mine started a lot earlier...I was a..." She idly gestures at her chest. "...early developer, too. Probably why." She smiles a bit. "Four years....and how long have you been on your own?" she asks softly.
Nerina Rosso The waif's eyes glance down then just as quickly turn back to her plate. She takes herself another bite to chew on the question.

"Four years," comes the answer.
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah leans back in her chair, setting her plate on her lap as she pulls up her legs to sit crosslegged. "Ah." she says softly. "You had to because of what you can do, then?" She watches you quietly, then says slowly. "...was there someone trying to make use of what you can do?" Delicately. She's trying not to push too hard. But the time period....suggests something went wrong.
Nerina Rosso     Nerina looks back out the corner of her eye with a dull blue stare, though it's dampened a little by the big smear of grease on her cheek. "I told you, you and your friends don't know how to hide."

    "And remember, il nostro segreto."
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah nods softly at the reminder. "I know." says says quietly. "On both counts." She reaches out to snag the can of soda she's been sipping from, taking a drink, before she sets it back down. "The alternative to hiding is finding a group that can protect you from what you're hiding from."
Nerina Rosso     "That means more people know about you; you're a bigger target, their dangers become yours, and no group lasts forever," the water sprite replies without missing a beat.
Sarah Rainmaker "Depends on the group, who's behind it, and if the people hunting you survive their first attempt to come after you with said group." Sarah says, steadily, before taking another bite of her pizza, munching thoughfully. "Because if you hide, and you're discovered, you've got nothing to fall back on. If you're in a group, and you're discovered, you have someone to fight with you. And that's sort of the point of being a group....you're standing together and supporting each other against their dangers. It'd be a bit much to ask someone to give you all the benefits and not contribute yourself, right?"
Nerina Rosso     "So where is Roxy right now? How far away do you think someone could take her while we're eating pizza together before you realize she's missing?" the waif rebukes casually. "But if someone found her or Caitlin... now they have found you - and me."
Sarah Rainmaker     "By that argument, why are you risking yourself by publically performing, instead of hiding in a deep dark hole underground where no one will find you and eating rats?" Sarah returns. "Someone could have been watching you all this time, waiting to see where you go at night to capture you when you're off the street, or to shoot you full of some substance that could knock you out." She shakes her head. "I tried that. Living out in the desert, just me and mom. Didn't help at all when they found me again. Still was just me and no one to help me."
Nerina Rosso     "Because it's harder to live off rats than you think," Nerina supplies as she gnaws on the crust of her slice. "Or fish," the water sprite adds.
Sarah Rainmaker "Avoiding the question." Sarah notes. "You're out in public every day. Who would help you if you were kidnapped off the street, exactly?" she says simply. "I would, now that I know you're there and that you might need the help." She sets her plate back in her lap, licking her fingers clean absently. "Though I'd think it woudl be easier when you have water abilities to catch a fish."
Nerina Rosso     "Anffering the queffion," the blonde retorts with a mouth full of bread. She keeps her head away long enough to swallow hard and audibly force a big gulp down her throat before turning to Sarah with a frown. "I've tried living away from people. Do I look like I thrived?"

"Catching fish isn't so hard but it's very tiring when you don't have a boat to carry you everywhere, molto stanco. That's most of how I survive in the summer... in winter it's mostly begging."
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah shakes her head. "So, you're still alone, and weakened." she says softly. "Because you have to struggle constantly. Maintaining vigilance by yourself must be even harder with that." She tilts her head. "So...since you are living near people now...why are you doing it in such a way that you still don't have support if something goes wrong?
Nerina Rosso     Nerina doesn't answer to the observation directly but the small flinch in her eyes speaks for her. The flautist turns away again but this time just looks at her food. She doesn't seem able to meet Sarah's gaze very much tonight - or any other part of her.

"I already told you, it's more risk," the blonde answers with a simmer of frustration. "Just because I'm playing music doesn't mean everyone knows I have powers."
Sarah Rainmaker     "No..." Sarah says gently. "But now I do. And we can watch out for each other, so you're safer. You have someone to watch your back, you don't have to do it all alone." She peers over. "And I can get some real food in you, for that matter" She shrugs. "Mine is more risk too. But the alternative isn't great either, to me."
Nerina Rosso     "Well I kill you, I work with you, or I run from you... and right now I know the right people at the fish market," Nerina admits as she hunches forward, elbows on the counter.
"You feed me but I still don't see how you're going to protect me *after* I'm caught," she continues. "Someone could take me by car to a plane then you would never see me again." Dull blue eyes lift back to Sarah, the color of a foggy sea as the water sprite musters another look. "And the same thing can happen to you or any of your friends. How do you fix that?"
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah sighs out, then frowns. "...okay, that's a valid point. I guess we could start checking in regularly, but even then, being all in the same place isn't likely to happen all the time." She frowns. "Well if they've already got you it would be hard unless you could contact me to let me know you're in trouble. But if you vanished....I'd go looking for you, for one. Try to find you." She considers. "My friend swould come looking for me. And I have contacts in other important groups now that would notice if I went missing and come looking for who has me too."
Nerina Rosso '    "I've been hiding alone, without any help for four years. If I can do that, what makes you think you can find me when someone with money and resources is hiding me?" Nerina asks bluntly. "The world is a very, very big place."

"E cosi getting caught only one time is game over, I live so the chance of that is as small as possible. Having even twenty friends who would miss me does not help." Lifting her glass, the blonde drowns her thoughts in the tiny puddle of water that's melted from her ice.
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah sighs, leaning back as she sets her plate aside with the remaining pizza. "Alright. Then who's looking for you, so I know who to watch for them." she says simply.
Nerina Rosso     The Italian shrugs. "Yo no sé," she replies, switching Romance languages. "And I'm sure they're using bounties and head-hunters to look for me, just like your lady friend is."
"Face it," the blonde says, turning in her chair to face Sarah with a cracked sort of smile whose cheer doesn't make it to her eyes. "We're both still here because of luck and no better reason. Tutto quello che siamo è fortunato, capisci?"
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah says wryly. "Maybe, but I don't particularly like depending on hope and luck for a plan either." She sighs, then frowns. "You came a long way from where they might be looking though."
Nerina Rosso     "Maybe, but if my price is high enough I just go in everyone's phones to watch for 'just in case'," Nerina answers, parroting the Amerindian's phrase back.
Pushing away from the counter, the blonde hops off the back of her stool and wanders into the living room, flopping herself over the side of the couch.
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah hmms, tossing the quarter or so of her pizza into the trash before putting the rest of the pizza box in the fridge, then saunters over to take a seat at the other end of the couch. "Going into everyone's phones?" she says, her lips quirking as you toss her words back at her.
Nerina Rosso     "I'll eat more later," Nerina remarks when she hears the sound of the fridge door.

"A little picture and a little description for them to look for on the street," she grumbles with a heavy sigh as the flautist rolls onto her side to get comfortable, only to give up a moment later and pull herself into a sitting position brace by the arm rest. Her legs draw in to tuck her bare feet underneath for warmth.

"How much do you know about makeup?"
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah ahs. "Makes sense, I guess..." she says thoughfully, watching you flop around to get comfy. "...do you need me to move so you can stretch out? I've got a blanket." she says, a little teasingly, before she says. "I know a little bit about it, I'm not an expert though. I don't use it much."
Nerina Rosso     "Nevermind then," Nerina dismisses, tucking her hands in the well of her sweatpants too. It doesn't leave much exposed below her face - except the tangle of blonde hair currently draped over the side of the couch.
The flautist's eyes drift closed for a moment and she takes a hand back to rub vigor into them with a grumble. "If I knew who to kill for them to stop, it would be worth it..."
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah pulls her bare feet up on the couch, squirming around to sit crosslegged, hands resting comfortably over her knees. "Do you know anything about them? Who they work with, or if they're government or private, anything like that?" she asks curiously.
Nerina Rosso     Nerina shakes her head. "I already told you no. They didn't share their life's story e if my bounty describes what I can do then everyone who likes mutants will want me."
"What they did was illegal, but that would not be special for government."
Sarah Rainmaker     "Yes, but if they're not government, then the goverment may very well act to stop them. They're at least somewhat accountable...and if information gets out a government agency is trying ot steal metahumans, it draws outrage and attention when it goes public." Sarah says simply. "But I can understand that. You avoided them, so no reason you would know more about them. Was just hoping."
Nerina Rosso     "Oh no they caught me. I /escaped/ four years ago," Nerina corrects casually. "They were only interested in other things than explaining who they worked for." Another cheerless smile curls the naiad's lips like dry leaves as she adds, "Like your lady friend."
"Ellos /puntos/ todos hablan espan~ol... and I was somewhere in the Carribbean when I escaped... but that was four years ago. For all I know, they worked for the United States of America," the naiad admits.
Sarah Rainmaker     There's a quiet sad frown at that. "Ah." she says gently, leaning back against the arm of the couch. "...it's possible..." she says quietly. "What did they try to do?" There's a more...unsettled tone in SArah's voice now. Questions like that bringing up her own terrors in her mind.
Nerina Rosso     At that question Nerina chuckles and her smile grows. "Cosa ne pensi - what do you think?"
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah watches you as you ask her what she thinks. When she speaks, it's in a steady, emotionless voice.

"Imprisonment, experimentation, threats, assault, rape, mental and physical abuse, torture..." Boy, sounds like she's not offering those as separate possibilities separately.
Nerina Rosso     Nerina pulls a hand back out to count along, getting up to seven as she nods. "Close enough. I don't remember all of it. You were very lucky to escape in less than a year."
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah nods softly, her eyes quiet with understanding. "...nightmares?" she says softly."
Nerina Rosso     Nerina's smile cracks and she lifts her counting hand to rub the bridge of her nose, shutting her eyes. That hit too close to home.
"Did my face give that away or do you have them too?" she asks, looking back over.
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah smiles weakly. "...seven of how many in common..." She inhales, then lets it out. "....I do. My roomies...they wouldn't..." She frowns a bit. "...I don't tell them about some of those things." she says carefully.
Nerina Rosso     "Good, then you understand I don't sleep much," Nerina concludes, letting out a breath that takes with it the tension in her shoulders. The blonde shrinks a little in her baggy outfit from the small relief. She rubs softly at her stomach, then leans her shoulder into the back of the couch, tiredly followed by her head.
"Don't bother," the naiad suggests before going briefly silent. Her eyes almost unfocus and fall somewhere at or a little below Sarah's chin as her mind drifts somewhere else.
"What do I feel like - as water? You sensed me somehow."
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah lets it drop...it's not something she finds easy to talk about to begin with. Thus, why...pretty much no one knows what actually happened but her. She's just shrugged it off when asked as it having been experiments and some torture. "MMm? Well..." She thinks about it. "Well...normally I can only feel free water, that's not in a person...but with you, it feels like....you're more water than your size suggests? I mean...in volume. Like there's depths to it.
Nerina Rosso     "So I feel like a small well or something?" Nerina asks, taking the reprieve as well. It might have been ruining her dinner.
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah has to think about that. "...I can't...touch water in a person, but...it feels like you're bigger than you should be?" she tries again. "It's difficult to describe, I've never felt something like it. I CAN sense you, when I can't sense other people."
Nerina Rosso     Nerina's free hand taps idly against her knee as the bony digits fade and lose their tone and texture, like watercolor dissolving in a pool. Her hand lightens until it's completely transparent, a soft appendage of water, then the transformation flows up the naiad's arm. Even her face and hair dissolve, still recognizably shaped, but now with only the borrowed shades of light bending through her liquid mass, showing a distorted view of the room behind her.

The water sprite's 'eyes' raise back to meet Sarah's as she replies, her voice coming out with a crystalline echo, like sound reverberating off a shallow pool. "I feel about this big?"
Sarah Rainmaker     The Apache girl's eyes widen at that, as she blinks. "Oh, cool..." she breathes, looking you over like this. "Well, um, I mean...you feel...compressed...like lots of water shaped into a smaller form. Like, um...well, this doesn't -quite- work perfectly as a metaphor, but like...a iceberg, where I can see you, but it's only a small part of the whole you." Sarah says thoughfully. She pauses, then says. "You look really lovely like that, actually."

She pauses then asks curiously. "How does that, um, feel? Do you still sense things the same way, like..if you touch, or taste, or see? Hear?"
Nerina Rosso     The naiad's lips curl into a slight smile as she lets her hand flow out into a long tendril that winds its way in front of Sarah's face and curls around behind her before sucking back into her wrist. Nerina flexes her hand softly and inspects it, seeing completely through to her gray sweats.

"No. I'm completely blind and deaf, I'm only reading your lips by how your voice is making me jiggle," she answers casually, glancing up a moment later.
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah raises a brow and folds her arms. "Oh, now you're just trying to fuck with me..." she says, pursing her lips. "I mean, I suppose it's possible that you could do that....I mean, if nothing else, I'm not sure how your eyes would work if you're transparent, because you've got no retinas to reflex light against to see...and I suppose you could be vibrating the air to make sound....
Nerina Rosso     A lyrical sound bounces off the living room walls, somewhere between a chime and the lilting timbre of a flute - the naiad's laughing. "È uno scherzo - I was 'fucking with you'," Nerina admits as color returns to her body and the blonde-haired nymph solidifies again. Her pale-pink lips are still curled into a smile - a rare sight to be sure.

Rocking forward to ease herself onto her feet, the flautist rises and pads back into the kitchen. "Do you want more food or a drink?"
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah snorts, then smiles a bit, watching the other girl pad back to the kitchen. "Another diet cola, please." she says, finishing off the last of the one she has. "So, you can shapechange too? Flow like water, condense yourself down into small spaces, that sort of thing?" she wonders curiously. "Handy talent. I mean, especially if you want to be able to to where you want quickly."
Nerina Rosso     "Un poco. It does not help me move faster than walking, except when water is already flowing. I can get to the ocean quickly with the storm drains... but normally I use a bus," Nerina answers from the kitchen as the distinctive *fssh!* and gurgle of soda answers Sarah's request for another drink. The naiad returns with one of the pizza slices still wrapped and hands the Apache her new glass before lowering herself back onto the couch. Despite her age the blonde moves more like an old woman; slowly and softly, easing herself up and down.
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah's dark eyes take note of this, a faint frow coming to her lips. "I can see that... she admits. "But it also must let you get into places no one else can easily get too. Good way to be safe where you're living." she says slowly. "...Nerina, are you okay? You're moving a bit stiffly...." There's genuine concern in her voice now.
Nerina Rosso     "Hungry," the blonde dismisses, tearing into her new slice of pizza. "This will help."
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah nods slightly, sipping from her cola. "Thank you, by the way..." she says, having been distracted from politeness by worry. "Nerina...whenever you need something to eat, you can always come up here. I make lots. I don't mind sharing." she says simply. "I mean...I kinda eat alone most nights anyway, because my roomies are out doing their own thing."
Nerina Rosso     Nerina swallows her bite and washes it down with another sip from her own drink before returning to the pizza for more. Her pace even with the food is slow and mechanical; she's not eating it for flavor.
"Leave a sign in the window when you're going to be alone," she suggests with a glance before pausing to cover her mouth and let out a small burp. "I won't come every night, but it's getting cold..."
Sarah Rainmaker     That only deepens that expression of concern. "Ah...yeah, I guess being out in freezing weather would be really bad for you. But I can do that. I don't think Caitlin would mind though either, even if I wasn't alone. And Roxy's got her own things, she's not living here. We kinda took your advice, actually, and split up a bit more..."
Nerina Rosso     "Good." The naiad sets her pizza down on the coffee table and leans back with a sigh, pacing herself. Her eyes shut and her head lulls back over the top of the couch. "You're safer when you're not so close. Stay in touch if you want, but loosely."
"This won't be my first winter. I know how to stay warm," she adds for the Apache's concern.
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah snorts. "Not doubting that." she explains. "I know you can take care of yourself, but doesn't mean I want you to be suffering when I can help." She watches the other girl quietly as she leans back, her eyes flicking over the signs of being underfed...the straw-like hair, the slightly darkened eyes, the way her clothes hang off her. "For that matter, you're welcome to a shower or whatever too. Or whatever. I mean, I got a huge bed, there's a couch, whatever. It's a little chilly in winter without blankets though, that front window just sucks the heat out of this palce.
Nerina Rosso     "It's still above freezing," Nerina points out, indifferent to her own appearance. While unusually clean for someone living on the streets, there's no makeup to warm her features, though her clothes are noticeably puffed and baggy; there might be more than just underwear beneath her hood. The blonde pausing to make sure her next words come out clearly articulated. "'May I use your couch tonight?'"
Sarah Rainmaker     There's not even hesistation. "Sure, I've got a spare blanket you can use too. And yes, it's not freezing -now-, but it will be in another month or so." Sarah allows. "So you've definitely got an open invitation then too, okay?" She smiles a bit at the other girl. "No problem."
Nerina Rosso     "Grazie," the flautist replies, cracking her sea-blue eyes open to look over as a small smile comes back to her lips.
"When do you sleep?" she asks idly.
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah looks curious. "Um, late evening mostly, before midnight. I like to get up early to run. Or I nap during the day sometimes, depending. Why?" she wonders, sipping from her cola again.
Nerina Rosso     "So I don't interrupt your sleep," Nerina explains simply as she leans forward again and fully opens her eyes. It's time for more pizza.
"We almost have the same rhythm," she notes with amusement.
Sarah Rainmaker     "Really?" Sarah says, tilting her head. "Well that makes it easy then. Oh, and if you do need to come in late, you can just come in my window and crash out in my room. I leave the door shut most times when I'm out, so no one will bother you there. Caitlin tends to stick to her computer out in the living room or at her desk anyway." She grins. "And I won't object if you've warmed the bed up for me when I get home on a cold night, anyway."
Nerina Rosso     That thought seems to amuse the naiad further as the bony blonde chuckles around her food. "Don't climb in while I'm still sleeping or I may stab you, capisci?"
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah doesn't seem bothered by the warning. "I'll keep that in mind." she says serenely. "Besides, I can poke you across the room, after all. Like this..." She makes a poking motion at Nerina, who will feel a little tweak in her belly. A bit between a poke and a tickle.
Nerina Rosso     The blonde jumps and looks over in delayed realization at what happened. She smiles and shakes her head ruefully. "Si, that would wake me up..."
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah grins. "Better than a ten foot pole for avoiding being stabbed." she says cheerfully. She tilts her head. "...more seriously though, is there anything you need you don't have, that I could maybe get to help you out? Besides just a warm place to sleep and food, which I'm sure don't hurt...not to be an Italian grandmother, but you seriously -do- need to eat more."
Nerina Rosso     Nerina smirks at the comparison as she gets towards the end of her piece, making slow but steady progress. "After food, rest, and warmth, what else is there?" she answers, one question for another.
Sarah Rainmaker     "Well, comforts...feminine products are kinda nice. Fun things that improve your mood that you don't necessarily always need, but are nice pick-me-ups, maybe." Sarah says thoughfully. "Books. Music, though you already have that covered. Um, other self defense type things? Pepper spray? I already offered a place to clean up, but you probably don't need that as much as most...well, maybe your clothes, so laundry can't hurt. Um...also just...having someone to talk to." she says, with a shrug. "Companionship is nice, right?"
Nerina Rosso     Nerina raises an eyebrow as she turns to stare in charmed disbelief at the rainmaker. "Toccante. You are a thoughtful one, aren't you? I'm not used to having someone to talk to but... real laundry would be nice," she admits warmly.
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah smiles a bit. "Mm, well...it helps that I've wished for some of these things myself while on the run." she admits. "If I can do it for you, why not?" She shrugs her shoulders. "I can do that now actually, I've got some clothes Roxy left here that would fit you well while I get what you're wearing clean."
Nerina Rosso     "If I wear hers she might smell me. What about yours? It's okay if they're big," Nerina suggests. "Or I'll wear blankets."
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah blinkblinks. "Um...sure, that works too. I've got a t-shirt that should fit fine and some sweatshorts?" she offers, standing up, then waving Nerina after her as she saunters towards her bedroom. 'This way, I'll dig something out for you.
Nerina Rosso     Easing herself up again in much the same way, Nerina tucks in behind the tall mutant and follows her out of the living room. "Do you have anything longer, to keep warm?" she asks.
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah opens her door, stepping inside. "Hmm, longer? Well, I have a sweater and some sweatshirts that would be long on you. I mean, the problem would be underclothes, but I guess if you're just wearing them temporarily." She hesistates, looking down at herself, then tugs at her shirt. "You could have this one? I bought it a size big so it was comfy for lounging around."
Nerina Rosso     Nerina pauses and leans against the doorway as she looks over the Apache's shirt, and the much taller woman herself by proxy. She nods approvingly, her gaze hanging a little long on the curious graphic in the center. "That would make a good..." the Italian poses and grimaces in thought. "Camicia de notte, a 'night shirt'?"
Sarah Rainmaker     SArah nods thoughfully. "Sure, for you it'd be great.." she says. And then without any particular warning, she pulls the shirt up and off, then tosses it to you. Unlike Nerina, she doesn't have anything on under said shirt at the moment, which doesn't seem to bother her much as she turns to open up her dresser. "Go ahead and try it on? I havent' been wearing it too long so shouldn't be smelly or anything..."
Nerina Rosso     Nerina blinks as the garment smacks against her face before she pulls it down and straightens it out. Looking over its neckline she gazes curiously as much as surprised at the topless Apache, then lowers her eyes back to the shirt. The naiad lifts it to her nose and take a deep breath.
"It smells like fake rain. Is that your soap?" Nerina asks mirthfully.
Sarah Rainmaker     There's a laugh from the Amerindian girl as she tugs out a black shirt, then shimmies it on. This one reads, in white lettering set in three lines: SARCASTIC? ME?? Never. There's a bit of a jiggle as she wiggles it in to place. "Yeah, I just find it kinda fun to use. I'm not much for perfumed stuff really." she admits, reaching up to pull her hair up out of the back of her collar so it can fall loosely against her back again.
Nerina Rosso     Nerina's eyes drift back up to watch Sarah dress again, following the supple curves and easy movements of her healthy and well cared for body - and a pretty one at that.
The naiad smiles wistfully, half hidden by her borrowed shirt, and pauses before taking her turn to do the same. "Do you mind if I strip naked?"
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah blinks a bit, then smiles. "It's fine, no worries." she says simply. "If it bothers you I'm here I can turn around though? Nothing I haven't seen in the mirror really."
Nerina Rosso     *FLUMP!*

Nerina's clothes fall through her with barely a hint of resistance and nymph casually steps out of the resulting pile, lifting watery feet that solidify once they're back on carpet. "No, I just can't take my top off without taking everything off with it," the stark naked blonde answers casually as she flicks her new shirt out and slips it on over her head - and what a blonde she is. Cascading in a tangled river all the way down to her knees, Nerina's hair is an ocean away from simply 'needing a haircut', and her overgrown tresses are matched by the rest of the vagabond's appearance if Sarah chooses to look closely. Beyond hair and nails, the other thing to see is just how thin the fair-skinned youth is. Her thighs might just be called 'slender' and there's a reassuring modicum of muscle still stretched across major joints, but her countable ribs and general gauntness restate what Nerina's sunken eyes and shallow cheeks already proved: full meals aren't a luxury the flautist is accustomed to.
Sarah Rainmaker     She keeps forgetting you can do that, Sarah thinks to herself, her eyes widening very slightly as Nerina goes abruptly from clothed to not clothed. Perhaps because of that, she's not really prepared to 'not' look, as she might have been with a bit more warning. And so she does, her eyes running down the other girl's form briefly, noting the ribs that are showing, the too-thin build. And the hair....Sarah focuses herself on the hair quickly. Do not stare at your friend when she's nude. "W-wow, your, um, hair...I didn't realize just how long..." she says, walking a little bit closer. "...okay, you need..a brush. A nice brushing, after you shampoo the hell out of that. Unless, um..." She hesistates. "Do you want to trim it?"

For Sarah's people (and she still does follow her people's customs and beliefs, to some extent), long hair is what binds you to life...to your future, to your past. It's a spiritual thing for her to keep hers long, and to not cut it save at specific times of the year, in the spring, as part of the ritual of greeting the new year, or to cut it for deeply emotional moments or great changes in her life.

But she knows obviously that not everyone feels that way...but also not if Nerina is letting it grow so long because she wanted to, or because she couldn't cut it heself easily. Which, she thinks, would be a shame...it's really beautifully long, though it makes her fingers itch to properly brush it out, as she's more than aware of exactly how much snarl and tangle you get from her own experiences.
Nerina Rosso     Nerina's lips purse contritely as she waits. She was expecting the stare. Yes, she's too thin. Yes, she hasn't eaten well in... Oh!

The nymph pauses with her new shirt around her shoulders and pulls it back off to give Sarah the full view of her entangled locks. While angelically fine and naturally straight, their disordered and uncared-for way of falling has left split ends and small curls all over. If she were wet and brushed, the youth's hair might be even longer.

"No, leave it long," the blue-eyed young woman answers, making a quarter turn to show it more easily. "That..." she pauses hesitantly then smiles, "sounds very nice, realmente, but I would need an hour and a full bottle of shampoo to do that."
Sarah Rainmaker     As Nerina turns to show off that wild fall of hair, peering back at her, those dark eyes run down the length automatically. And she can't -help-, in the process, running them down the rest of the sylph-like blonde in the process. And it's actually just...lovely. Like a wild creature out of myth...which is appropriate, considering - and then Sarah catches herself a bit, focusing just on the hair as she steps closer. "...you're not kidding.." she says, frowning softly. "Well..." She hesistates. "Roxy did leave most of a bottle here when she left. I don't think she'd care if you used it, she obviously didn't need it herself. And I can help you, which should speed things up a little." She blinks, eyes widening. "Ah, I mean, brush it out! I can help brush it out. After." She smiles sheepishly, looking into those blue eyes with her much more mundane brown. "I know what it's like to have long hair and have it all tangled up and messed. Wouldn't wish it on you."
Nerina Rosso     "It is the worst thing about this body," Nerina grouses openly, seeming at least mostly comfortable with Sarah looking her over as she loses herself in thought for a moment. "...Third worst, maybe fourth."
"If shampooing my hair will speed it up you can do that too," the nymph offers with a small grin at Sarah's sheepishness. "I don't want to spend my whole night washing this-" Nerina reaches back to take two big handfuls of her 'problem', as if it were a thick cord of rope.
Sarah Rainmaker     The taller girl scratches her cheek a bit uncertainly. "Well...um...so, a bath then?" she asks. "I guess I could sit next to you and shampoo then, sure." Because one of the nice things about living in an ancient hotel is they actually have old style bathtubs, full sized and well made. Just if she means a shower, then...well, that would require Sarah getting in and...well, they're friends though, it's just like...um, a hairstylist giving someone a shampoo. Or being in the gym showers. Where you're giving a friend a shampoo. Just the two of you. So...not...really like that at all. "Or a shower if you'd rather, just...I'd probably have to stand in there with you or be controlling the water so it doesn't get everywhere....
Nerina Rosso     "You can control shower water?" Nerina notes curiously as she tucks the t-shirt behind her head like a towel and lets her weight fall onto her back foot, putting a casual slouch into her slender figure as she faces Sarah again. "I like baths more. You can imagine why, si?"
Sarah Rainmaker     Well that's not distracting at all. Still, Sarah's ready this time, so her gaze stays on Nerina's as the other girl turns back to her. "Well, yes. All water pretty much. I mean, less so when it's inside someone, but things like rain or showers, or keeping water going down the drain instead of all over the bathroom, that's pretty easy." She smiles a bit. "Well...okay, if you're sure you don't mind me helping like that, I can get the bath running then run your clothes down to put in the wash while we're at it." She motions to the door. "Bathroom's across the way, actualy, across the living room." Which is why her roomies often get an eyeful of Sarah walking between her room and the bathroom and back without much but a towel at most.

She pauses to scoop up the fallen clothes, straightening up. "C'mon...let's get you cleaned up." she says, more cheerfully now, as she starts to head out. Deliberately, because she knows if she lets Nerina go first, she's going to be watching walk there....bad Sarah.
Nerina Rosso     Nerina bends down at the same time to press the pile back into the ground and fish around inside. "Wait. I need to empty my pockets first; let's keep my things here, si?"
True to her word, the mess of discarded clothes is both voluminous and surprisingly heavy. There might be more than just a granola bar in there.
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah brakes as the other woman bends over, pulling back a bit so she's not crowding her. "Huh...you could really use a backpack or something..." she says thoughfully. From this angle, that long tangle of blonde hair is almost like a cloak. It really does make her look like some sort of wild girl. Or Lady Godiva, one of the two. She swallows a bit, then offers "You can set it all the top of the dresser there if you'd like?" she offers, motioning to the nearby furniture.
Nerina Rosso     "I have one but I don't carry *everything* in it. You don't keep your phone in your backpack, si?" Nerina replies astutely as her sea-blue eyes meet the Amerindian's brown across the short gap. Diverting her eyes to the pile, the naiad brushes her blond locks out of the way and sorts through her clothes. A pile grows to one side, empty and ready for laundry, while a smaller one grows opposite.
Her boots, a sweater, a blue scarf, sweatpants, a t-shirt, arm warmers, socks, and underwear all end up stacked together in short order, though the naiad pauses to fish around in one arm-warmer to pull out a pocket sewing kit - goodness knows where it was hiding.
Setting a deceptively clean and plain pair of tan cargo pants separate with a cheap Casio watch and water bottle, Nerina removes the last item from the original pile: a black thigh-length wetsuit with blue trim. It gets a third pile, separate and special as the nymph notes, "Follow the instructions on this one. It's schizzinosi - unhappy if you don't."
Sarah Rainmaker     Sarah's brows climb as more and more is separated out, especially the last. "A schizzinosi? A....a wetsuit?" she says, curiousity evident in her voice, but she doesn't move on to the next logical question, which is 'why do you have a wetsuit, are you diving or something?'. "Sure, I'll do it separately if it need it." she offers. "Long as there's instructions on it. Huh, you really hide a lot under there..." she says, hands on her hips for a moment, before she crouches down beside the other girl to start gathering up the dirty clothes into an armful, then dropping them into a empty laundry basket that was pushed under her bed. The wetsuit goes on top, though she pauses at the pants. "These too?" she asks, peering over. They do look clean...
Nerina Rosso     "If you think that is a lot, just wait," Nerina snickers as she stands and carries the remaining trio over to the dresser. Setting down the waterbottle and watch, she reaches into the left-hand pocket and pulls out a multitool, then a cell phone, a bottle of vitamins, and an index card. The naked naiad looks back over her shoulder and smirks before turning back to pull out more.
"Schizzinosi is not 'wetsuit', it is something..." she pauses to think, then instead pulls a pocket dictionary from her rear pocket and tosses it back to Sarah. "It's in there."
Sarah Rainmaker     Bemused, Sarah catches the dictionary, then skims through it. "Ah. Picky." she muses, then scoops up the pants to toss on the pile then too. No sense not making everything all nice and fresh smelling since she's got to run the load anyway then. She looks back up, then quirks her lips at the nubile, naked and nochalant naiad smirking back at her before tossing her the dictionary gently underhand, then leaning down to look at the instructions on the suit. "Okay, got it. Why don't you get the water started? The shampoo that was Roxy's is in the red and blue bottle. Cherry blossoms, she was going through a weeboo phase..." she says, hefting the basket as she lifts it up.

Meanwhile, Sarah's brain: <She's actually pretty cute.> Sarah: <Not looking.> Sarah's brain: <Reeeeeeally looks good with that long blond hair like that.> Sarah: <NOT looking.> Sarah's brain: <Goes all the way down right past that skinny but cute little... Sarah: <NOT LOOKING!>

She snags some coins off her dresser quick. "Um, go ahead and I'll be right back, it's just down the hall. Caitlin won't be back until tomorrow so don't worry about anyone walking in on you but me."
Nerina Rosso     With the pile of things at her back Nerina might be mistaken for Ariel - or a nymph-bound magpie. Multiple knives, multiple cell phones, IDs, pill bottles, and a flask that are all hopefully legal, and tubes of peanut butter besides. It's quite an everyday carry and more than enough to fill half of Sarah's dresser.
Nerina for her park smiles softly at the Amerindian's kindness as she passes, a small expression but one that seems to be coming easier to her face. "Molto bene," she concurs before following Sarah out. The bedroom door is shut - and locked - behind her.
