Kara Danvers One of the realities of being a superhero is patrolling your 'home turf' to make sure it's safe from threats. And for the most part, Supergirl doesn't really begrudge that responsibility. However, it does cut into a big chunk of her free time. Time that could be spent somewhere else. Or with *someone* else. After the movie night at Titans Tower, it was pretty obvious that Robin shared a certain amount of attraction towards Supergirl. The difficulty was, he had his responsibilities in Gotham and she had hers in Metropolis. And the fact that she still didn't know his secret idnetity yet...But, Kara had an inspired idea, and Robin seemed to like it as well. Hence, Supergirl is flying slow and close to the rooftops over Racine, allowing a certain Teen Wonder to keep up with her as she shares her patrol duty with him. There's still plenty of time for Robin to get back to Gotham for his night shift there; and in an emergency, Supergirl can fly him back faster than he can drive.
Tim Drake Robin actually has the R-Cycle stationed nearby, with drones that are capable of lifting and ferrying it to him in a pinch. As strong and as fast as Supergirl is, he likes to have a backup plan in case of an emergency. He could have the R-Cycle to him in a matter of minutes, maybe an hour tops, depending on how far he ventures. It may not be the batplane, but it's something. He could get home without commandeering somebody's vehicle, or raiding a tertiary batcave. Batman is even more prepared than Robin, and there are 'staging areas' spread across the Tri-State area. He was currently doing his thing, parkour running along buildings, onto flag poles, ledges, treating the city skyline as if it were a playground, and all while maintaining a fairly steady heartrate. He could keep this up for a long time. The boy has stamina. He would occasionally look up to see Kara, or Supergirl as she was today, and he had to fight the urge to swoon. He had fallen for her, and he had fallen hard.
Kara Danvers "You sure you're okay?" Supergirl asks her teammate with a hint of concern in her voice. She was trying to keep the pace comfrotable for Robin, letting him set it and her flying near him, super-senses alert for possible problems. "Racine's usually quiet," she says. "But sometimes you get the odd bit of criminal activity in the warehouses or industrial parks. I thought it would be a...nice introduction to Metropolis."
Tim Drake "Never better," he spoke at a normal volume through the headset he wore to pick up her words. With her hearing, she could pick up anything he had to say. "Supergirl, really, I can take it. I've dealt with some truly horrific people, and some super powered people. I can handle it. You don't need to hold back for me." He was half of the dynamic duo. Underestimate him at your own risk.
Kara Danvers "I know," she sighs. "I wasn't trying to be insulting. I'm just not used to working with unpowered teammates, I guess. It's usually my cousin or other metahumans that I team up with, even when it's on the spot." She flies closer to Robin, smiling at him, her hair flowing in the air and trailing behind her. "I know you're tougher than a normal human. And you can handle way more than a normal human. But having a low-threat patrol does let us spend more time together, instead of fighting bad guys. So, there is a bit of methos to my madness here..."
Tim Drake Whilst running, he says, "you weren't being insulting, and I don't have powers, but that doesn't make me normal." He likes being closer to her, and is pleased when she flies in. He can smell her on the wind. He loses himself in that flowing hair for a moment. "I like spending time with you, Supergirl. But there's something you should know..." and then, he reaches out, moving with surprising speed for a human. He uses a grappling hook from his belt. When did he even ready that? But he has it out, and uses it to get one end of her cape wrapped around part of the rope, which immediately knots itself from friction as it catches the cape. The other end is thrown around her, making the cape go with it, and in a flash, it's wrapped around her face, making it hard for her to breath, to see, not that it can stop either, but it should be disorienting. And while he's done that, the next move is almost seamless. He grabs her hand, using a pressure point. He's hoping that Kryptonian pressure points are the same as human ones, and tries to deflect her, so that she'll fly into a barrier on the rooftop. A smoke pellet is dropped at his feet, a lead based one, and he is gone. But his voice remains. "Supergirl, I love you, but you have to know what I'm capable of." Of course, when she tracks down that voice, it's a pre-recorded message on a speaker system. Where the devil is he?
Kara Danvers Even with her superhuman abilities, the entire manuever catches Kara by surprise and she squeeks (yes, squeeks) as the cape gets wrapped around her face. And the next thing she knows, she hits the roof as Robin redirects her. Kara gets to a sitting position, unwrapping the cape and blowing her hair out of her face with a huff. Then the speakers activate, and she blushes at the words, looking around for the ninja but not able to locate him. With another sigh, she stans up, finishing untangling the cable from her, and a look of clear admonishment on her face. "Okay. Point taken. You get to be on the front line of the next robot bank robbery." Any annoyance in her voice is reserved for herself and the assumptions she made. She dusts herself off and is about to continue speaking, when....

A nearby explosion from one of the industrial factories shatters the night. It's only a few blocks away, and Supergirl's attention is drawn to the scene. "Meet me there," she says to Robin, wherever he may be, then she shoots off towards the site of the explosion, just like a speeding bullet.
Tim Drake Robin's good, and he's quick, but he's not fast enough to beat a speeding Kryptonian. He arrives after Supergirl, trying to get a sense of things. He can see the smoke from the explosion, and decides to go in quietly through the roof. Once there, he looks through the skylight, using the infrared setting on his mask. There seems to be a commotion there. But before he does enter, he turns on his communications grid, transmitting and hoping that Supergirl did wear the ear piece. "Two people in the northeast sector, not moving, maybe unconscious, at least three in the southwest. They're mobile and panicking. Five on the upper level, and at least two more stragglers. I'll go high if you go low?"
Kara Danvers Supergirl is already at the scene when Robin radios in. There's some men trapped under a collapsed platform. Using all her superhuman strength, Kara lifts up the twisted metal wreckage above her head. "Go!" she calls out to the workers. "Help your wounded freinds and get going." She can keep this weight aloft pretty much indefinately, but there's other things she needs to deal with, fast. "I hear you, Robin. I'm almost done with rescue duty out here. Do what you can and I'll join you."
Tim Drake Robin slips in through the skylight. There's enough damage, and thankfully no one near the skylight, but he still isn't keen on breaking the glass, so he cuts it quickly, and dives in, using his cape to break his fall. It seems to harden into a sort of bat-like glider once inside and he uses it to reach a platform. There's a fire trapping four people on the upper level, office workers, a secretary and management most likely. Instead, he goes to the side of the 'office', tapping on the wall and calling out, "back away!' Thankfully, there's a ventilation duct nearby and the sound carries well. He then applies some gel to the wall, backs up, and rushes towards it with a mighty kick. The gel made the wall very brittle. "I'm here to help, the stairway to the left is secure. Go, go, go," and he gives directions with his hands, trying to ferry them out. With them on their way to safety, he goes and looks for the last one on the upper floor.
Kara Danvers once the trapped men have cleared out, Supergirl sets the collaped metal aside. The men Robin freed from the office come running out and Supergirl tells the to keep running. "Alright, coming in...." And the Girl of Steel launches herself into the air, flying through a windo that was busted out with the explosion. She flies down to the unconcious men, removing them as quickly as possible. "I'm clearing out the other wounded down here. How are you doing?"
Tim Drake "Finished," Robin reports, as he quickly managed to locate the last one. He did another sweep to be sure that the upper floor was secure, and then he joined Supergirl on the lower level. He had to be careful on his descent, as some of the roof caved in as a support beam had been weakened. "This place isn't going to hold up for long under these conditions." Robin rubbed his face, getting soot on it. It made him look like a commando in a war film, especially with that mask. He ran his fingers through his belt, pulling out a couple of vials, some gel, and a gun-like object. Whatever he mixed, it seemed to create a foam that quickly hardened around the supporting structure, helping to shore it up.
Kara Danvers Supergirl looks up where Robin is looking, nodding as she sees the damaged support. The gel mixture gets a curious look, until it hits the support and hardens. "Nice," she says to him with a smile. Her face is covered in a mixture of sweat and soot, but there's still a glow about her that the dinge can't lessen. "Keep going. I'll add to the quick repair." Flying off again, she gathers up some of the scrap metal that the collapsed platform had become and brings it in. Quickly, she bends the metal around the support, using her heat vision to weld pieces into place. Within a minute, the damage to the support has been shored up with both the hardened foam and a super-speed patch job.
Tim Drake It's not pretty. But it'll be cheaper to replace and restore that support beam than it would to rebuild the whole factory. "It looks like we've done it, Supergirl. That was some great teamwork." He thought they made a pretty great team, and despite the soot and grime, she looked as radiant as ever. But he, it just helped him hide, to fade into the darkness. Maybe he was becoming too much like Batman. He then got a beep on his suit, barely audible. In fact, it wasn't audible. It was more of a vibration, but she could pick it up. "Police and rescue services are on their way. We'd better go." And how different that was. Superman liked to be in the spotlight. Batman preferred the shadows. And it's easy to see where Robin fell on that dynamic.
Kara Danvers "You go ahead," Supergirl replies. "I'll bring the authorities up to speed and make sure they have everything under control." And as Supergirl flies back out, she sees that there's already a crowd gathering nearby, cell phones out taking pictures and videos. Calmly, Kara floats towards the crowd, hovering above. "Everyone, please..." she say while holding her hands up in a 'get back' gesture. "Everyone, please move back across the street. Emergency services are on the way, but keep the streets clear so they can manuever. Everything is going to be just fine." And that's why she stays around for the cameras; not to get the spotlight, but becasue she knows people need to see that the heroes they're placing their trust in are indeed keeping them safe. Keeping everyone safe.
