Owner Pose
Lara Croft Lara's jeep pulled up to the driveway behind her home in Greewicnh Village, the driveway was barely large enough to even fit the vehicle, but it did an adequate job. Lara leaned forward to shut the key off on the vehicle and she leaned back in her chair and turned to glance at Abbey.

"How long do you plan to sleep?" She asked with a light laugh. "I'm planning for at least a week."

Lara knew she had a new job to get to in the morning though, a job up in Westchester at Xavier's school. Professor Xavier himself had come and found her prior to their trip south, he'd extended the invitation to come teach at his school... she'd turned him down... but later been motivated to call him up and accept it.
Abbey Chase Abbey Chase looks like she could sleep for a month. She sighs. "I think a week, two at least. But first? A really long, hot bath. If I don't drown in it from falling asleep? Then sleep. Lots of sleep." She smiled. "But at least we came back successful? They won't be messing with those death masks any more... No one will. That's a good thing, Lara. Thank you for your help."
Lara Croft "Happy to help." Lara said with a smile to her before. A moment later she popped the door open and started to get out of the Jeep. With boots on cement she'd move around to the back of her vehicle and start pulling her belongings out, duffle bag and backpack.

"Now the really fun part begins. Cleaning and sorting of gear so its properly stored... Rather than coming to find it all later and finding a filthy mess."

Bags were placed over shoulders by their straps and Lara moved toward the fence gate that went into her backyard, she pushed the gate open and walked in to the yard, leaving it open.

"I'm happy to go with you anywhere, Abbey. All told, it was a very... educational trip. I feel as though the next one will go smoother."
Abbey Chase Abbey Chase doesn't protest as all. Oh her body does. Aching muscles. Stiff joints. Bruises and scrapes. It was hardly a spa trip after all. She grabbed some of the gear and helped carry it inside and went back for more. "It was. It was nice to find someone I can work so easily with. I didn't have to worry you were going to run off and do something crazy on your own." Mostly because she was right there doing Crazy with Lara.
Lara Croft Lara opened the back door and took the gear into the small back patio area where it was all set down next to patio chairs and tables where she could clean it and sort it all out.

She stood there, unzipping a bag and pulling some items out whiel shaking off mud and twigs from it. "I can hardly believe we came only with only moderate cuts and bruises. I guess that gives us a lot to be thankful for." She smiled at Abbey when she entered the back patio with some of the equipment.

"Do you know where you'll be going next?" She asked then.
Abbey Chase Abbey Chase helps bring in the last of the gear and sighs. "Well.. it's all in. Now to figure out what's what and get it clean!" She really didn't want to get into the clothing bag. That wasn't going to be fun. So she doesn't! She goes for her weapons first. Always keep them clean and cared for after all. "yeah.. I didn't think it would end quite as favorably for a few days there. Who knew that Incan death masks would attract that kind of greed? I mean.. rare? yeah. But to send in a small army?" She winced as she shrugged her shoulders. "Next? I'm just looking forward to the next couple weeks off first" she grinned.
Lara Croft Lara had gone to her cabinets on the back patio to retrieve cleaning supplies that she had on the desk by the time Abbey came back with the remainder of the gear.

Lara slide her a cleaning kit and grinned at her. "Well, if I had to wager a guess as to why... its the escalation of power in this world. Namely... super heroes. Those who are unpowered, but desire it, are going to wild and ridiculous lengths to garner equal levels of power to say, Superman, or Wonder Woman. They want to compete on these levels, for their own profits. So this means, poor fools such as us... are faced with the madness of trying to keep these ancient sources of power away from them."

Lara took a seat upon a stool and started to clean her own weaponry and climbing gear.

"That would be my completely and totally random guess." She said with a smile flashed at her friend.
Abbey Chase Abbey Chase listened as she worked on her gear. She nods. "I agree. It's almost impossible not to. But it's still just... insane. Power like that. Any power. It just shouldn't be out in the wild. Even undiscovered. It needs to be secured or truly lost forever so that no one will turn it into a weapon or sort of leverage to hurt or take advantage of others."
Lara Croft Lara smiled over at Abbey and bobbed her head in a nod to the other. "Thats why I knew I needed to take the job with SHIELD. After Director Fury came to see me and told me why he wanted my help, I knew it was something I couldn't say no to. We aren't living in a world where these items are going to be left to stay hidden much longer. If we don't find them, then they will... and as we all know 'they' can't be trusted. The only people we can trust are ourselves."

Lara popped a magazine out of her sidearm and then slid across the table toward the case she kept her gun in while traveling.

"Its the same reason I've taken this teaching position. Its at a school of super powered children. I hope to... you know... influence them in a way that that'll understand the importance of the past, and how it can change our futures."
