Kaelyn It's a glorious day in Sunnydale, Bludhaven, what have you. People are out shopping, walkin gup and down the sidewalks and all and generally enjoying them selves. One shop in particular might stand out, It's called the "Enchanted Gronds." this instead of having normal tempered glass windows seems to have well, stained glass windows, wiht only the center being fully transparent tempered glass of some sort. The stained glass patterns appear to be runes and egyptian symbols and thel ike, things commonly associated with the Occult, however, there's also coffee cups mixed in, spices, and the like in the rather nice looking stained glass... Also theres a menu outside listing the various soups of the day that are available, hand made deserts available today and the lunch and dinner specials as well. Seems someone's taken a coffee shop, a cafe, and an occult store stuck em in a box, given em a good shake and out popped this store!

Inside the first quarter of the large floor is dominated of course by the cafe, set up kind of lounge style, there's even a small library where folks can borrow a rotating set of books to read and enjoy while they eat or drink. Theres even listings of readings, and witching hour specials, which of course happense at midnight? It's a wonder anyone here ever gets any sleep. The back 2/3rds of the sales floor appears to be dominated by shelves that reach the ceilings with all kind of new age, and occult related baubels, books and the like. There's even some rather fancy clockwork animals and figures behind a plexiglass stand on a 5 shelf tall rotating pedastal. There's a sign there, that says ask for help with product.

Around the edge of the store are touch screen pads with displays of more expensive things. Evidently the owners thought to put displays of more expensive items out there and then have an associate go fetch the item when someone wants to see the real thing... This also makes sense for the rather sizeable selection of rare and antique books.

Up front is Kaelyn, the redhead looking a little big haggard at this point as she and a blond girl dressed like a witch of all things are currently chatting about something, it's wierd how their voices don't travel too terribly far, but then again they're probably trying to keep things to them selves. After a bit the blond witch wanders into the back and Kae leans forward in her chair, slicking back her dissheveled red mane before taking a pull on her favorite green tea late, iced of course.
Valerie Kameya     A dark-haired lady dressed in tight black bike shorts with fire graphics down the sides, somewhat odd-looking heavy-soled boots, a "Gotham Knights" baseball cap and a blue babydoll that reads "Dangerous When Bored" peers in the windows of the shop, cupping her hands to block out the outdoors light to see better.

The face disappears and the door opens and then closes, but nothing enters but a whoosh of wind, a strong gust. The breeze continues inside, spending time at the library near the cafe. There's the sound of books being taken off the shelf and then returned.
Kaelyn Kae blinks and glances around, staring a bit... She ummms.... and taps her chin briefly before calling out "Ya know I know someone's here, so ya might as well either make yer self visible or slow down enough to like be sociable!" She calls out, and smiles a bit before she adds "Social type place and all, join the rest of us!" Kae adds now taking another pull on her drink...
Valerie Kameya     An oval face, the one from the window earlier, peers around the corner of the bookshelf near the cafe. "Hmm? Wereyoutalkingto... to me? Sorry." she says, adjusting her cap. "Hello." and she looks around. "Nice big place you have here. This is the first time I've been..." and she peers at the redhead. "Haven't I see you before?" and she reaches up to tap her cheekbone while she thinks. "Oh! At the Lexcorp thing. You had that dragonfly."
Kaelyn Kae smiles and nods "Well, Wasp..." She says cheerfully and tilts her head "Sooo judging how fast the books were being picked up and put down, I take it yer a meta?" she asks curiously. No sense of judgement at all in her voice, just sheer curiosity... She takes another long pull on her drink again and now eats a bit of beinget... "Soo what brings you out here?" She asks curiously. Kae then ooohs! And motions to the rotating shelf.. "More of those things there if you wanna look by the way..."
Valerie Kameya     valerie snaps her fingers. "Wasp. That's right." and she laughs. "I was afraid it might sting someone." She fidgets with the brim of her cap. "I don't know, this was a new shop to me and so I thought I would look around." and she does. does look around. "I get bored easily..." she says, plucking at the front of her tip, as if the slogan there will explain things. "I thought that maybe your books would give me something to do for a bit."
Kaelyn Kae blinks slowly and ooh's... "You've not read all the community books yet have you?" Asks Kae curiously "I also have New age and Occult magazines too, in the magazine section." she says cheerfully... "OH and if ya like this is also a cafe, we have hand crafted coffees, teas, we make our own sodas here... There's also a selection of nifty deserts and stuff like that we all make here..."
Valerie Kameya     The woman is next to a bookshelf one eyeblink and the next she's just _there_ next to Kaelyn, not seeming to have crossed the intervening space. "Oh. I have to stay away from caffiene. I have a hard-enough time being still as it is." she says, laughing a bit nervously. "I'm sure everything is quite tasty."
Kaelyn Kae oooh's "Then drink some green tea?" she asks curiously... Kae blinks at the sudden blink and stuff and nods "Yup Meta... What one of those speedy types?" She asks now then grins and offers a lightly powdered sugar sprinkled Beignet to the woman..
Valerie Kameya     "I don't know what you're talking about." the woman says. "I'm just a perfectly normal average everyday citizen." and she nods sagely. "I'm Valerie, by the way."
Kaelyn Kae blinks and ummms... "Kaelyn.." She says then ummms... "Ya do know the girl's outfits..." she motions to the girls dressed as witches "Aren't just for show right?" she says and smirks a bit... "Over half my clientel are from the Mystic or Magic communities..." She says and then grins a bit "Rest are curious passer byes and tourists." Kae adds and then grins "Anyhow congrats for being a perfectly normal average every day citizen?"
Valerie Kameya     "Hmm? Were you talking to me?" Val wonders. "Oh! Yes. Interesting. Really? 'Magical community, huh'?" She looks to the girls and back to Kae. "Isn't that a little bit... I don't know... aren't you letting patriarchal society determine their identities for them? Aren't any of your customers offended?" she shrugs, though. "'Any sufficiently adancved science is indistinguishable from magic', a man once wrote, but I like to think that 'any sufficiently advanced magic is indistinguishable from magic'. What do you think?"
Kaelyn Kae umms... "Well I can make items that look like they were produced by science, but were infact made by means arcane..." The trio of girls then grin and speak up "See Kae hasn't set any dress code, we just like dressing up this way, and a cool occult store is perfect to dress up in and basically have 'halloween' year round." And if this were an anime, Kae'd sweatdrop at this point and she looks to Val "Pretty much, they just like how they dress and all.. Anyhoo, there's a number of folk who enjoy, or for a living practice spells and incantations, rites alchemy, you name it... I think there's a place for it." Kae says with a slight smile.
Valerie Kameya     "It's not my place to criticize your outfits, I was just curious." she says, brushing an errant strang of hair out of her eyes. "Yes, this is all very interesting." she says with a smile. "Looking at everything and reading all your books and magazines should be fun for a bit."
Kaelyn Kae blinks and smiles "Well if you can make head or tale of everything feel free, just don't damage the ones that are put up for sale, those get expensive." Kae says, grinning a bit and getting a little bit of an eye roll from Wendy, the blond witch that's usually behind the coffee counter. Kae then shrugs "What?"
Valerie Kameya     "I don't claim to understand everything, but reading new and interersting things is good for one's mind, I think. Less boring that way." she says and nods. "I hate that so many books are electronic-only these days. Computers are so slow."
Kaelyn Kae stares curiously "Ummmm, If you say so?" Kae says and rubs the nape of her neck "I mean new computers are more powerful and faster than ever...." She adds and tilts her head curiously "Why would ya think of computers as being slow?
Valerie Kameya Val scratches her nose. "Oh, they have plenty of power, but they're so _slow_. Even a new monitor only shows two hundred and forty frames a second, so it takes _forever_ to change screens in a book or even in a movie. So, I just don't waste my time. Reading a physical book is faster and less boring."
Kaelyn Kae stares at Val curiously "Umm at those speeds if you flip through the pages of a book you'll destroy the spine..." Kae suggests.. She rubs the nape of her neck again and tilts her head "Sooo just how fast is your metabolism" she asks curiously. She smiles just a bit "MEbbe you should slow down a bit and enjoy things?"
Valerie Kameya     "I'm very careful." Val says, nodding. "But I _do_ slow down." she protests. "But it's like... have you ever seen that carton movie with the animals, the world with all anthropomorphic animals, there's a police rabbit and a fox or something? They go to a DMV and everyone working is a sloth? The rabbit needs something done and every single thing the clerk does is slow as molasses... as a sloth. And she's going crazy because she can't even get the sloth to talk at a decent speed? That's what it's like."
Kaelyn Kae blinks and oooh's... "OOokay..." She says and rubs at the back of her neck... She notes in her head that speedsters must have it rough... Kae then stands and heads over to the checkout counter, stepping behind it and pulling a few wooden boxes from the back, then opens them and begins to work on a few palm-sized clockwork, one is a dragon, the other a wizard with a crystal ball in hand.
Valerie Kameya     Val takes the time to visibly put one foot in front of the other and follow after the redhead. She leans down to watch her work. "Hmm. That's very interesting. Hobbies are good. They get boring after a while, though."
Kaelyn Kae blinks again "You must get bored real fast?" She asks curiously and grins "I doubt I could ever get bored making constructs and clockworks.. I like the whole creative process, figuring out different ways to make the thing move, act, work... I find the creative process most relaxing and enjoyable."
Valerie Kameya     Valerie watches for a few more minutes, making motions with her hands now and then if Kae takes time to think about what she's doing. "Just... oh... that's..." she mutters. Then she sighs. "I think I've had plenty today." but she smiles. "I'll come back another day, alright? I think I'm going to go home and have a nap. Thank you for the good time."
Kaelyn Kae tilts her head and smiles to Valerie, the little wizard now moving after Kae winds it ip, the crystal ball even glows as the clockwork goes through the motions of 'casting a spell' She then nods 'You be careful and have fun... Maybe try to find your self a good hobby? It's gotta be something you truly love though, something relaxing and you can stick with it a while to get good at it." Kae adds and smiles brightly
Valerie Kameya     There's another rush of air and Valerie is suddenly at the door. She opens it at normal-speed, visible speed and lifts her hand to wave at Kaelyn and the shopkeepers. "Have fun." She turns and takes a step out, and then she's gone, the door swinging shut behind the empty space she just was.
