Owner Pose
Jennifer Lindon After class but before supper, Jennifer has parked herself in a comfy beanbag with a book in one hand (Specifically: Guns, Germs and Steel) and a glass of coke in the other. She takes an occassional sip from the drink, and looks up whenever she does, or whenever something loud or otherwise noticeable enough to catch her attention occurs.
Tabitha Smith     Something loud and otherwise notable bounces into the rec room - it's Boom-Boom. She's dressed in a pair of short-shorts, black fishnet stockings, a pink babydoll which reads "Nobody Puts Baby In a Corner", and her giant purple sunglasses pushes up on her head.

"Hiya." she says in passing, heading to the cupboard to collect a bag of microwave popcorn. This is chucked into the device and the door swung shot, the buttons pressed. "Three. *beep* One. *beep* Five. *beep* Start!" she chants. "Go popcorn, go!" and she then spins around and leans on the counter. "Howya doin', new girl?"
Jennifer Lindon "Hi Boomer." Jenny greets the older girl with a look of vague amusement. "Are you always this energetic or only when new people are around?" There's no malice in her voice, "Getting used to things, it's different. Way beats what I was fearing would be my environment for the next year for sure, though."
Tabitha Smith     "Oh, girl... this is tame for me. I'm tired." Tab says, pulling herself off of the counter. She turns again to grab a big ceramic bowl. the microwave oven beeps and she pops the oven open and pulls out the bag. "Oooh! Ow!" she winches. "Hothothot." but she manages to get the bag torn open and the lovely fluffy stuff poured into the bowl. She marches over to where Jennifer is lounging. "Like some?" she offers. "Yeah, well... it's not borin' here, for sure. It's a laff riot sometimes."
Jennifer Lindon "Sure, once they're less hot." The new girl answers cheerfully, putting a card in her book to mark the spot and putting it aside. "So how long have you been here, give or take?" There's a pause, "And did you live in like a similar environment before, or did you come from some other environment." Pause, "I wonder if I should call mom and dad."
Tabitha Smith     Tabby smiles. "Eh. This is 'bout as different as can be from when I was a kid. Stuff here is nice, the food's great, I have a nice bed to sleep on... noone's yelling. Pretty cool."
Jennifer Lindon
"Huh." It looks like Jenny mentally cycled through about ten different ways to respond to that before discarding them all. "Sure beats juvie, so I guess I shouldn't complain. Still..." She stretches out a bit, "Feeling a little homesick."
Tabitha Smith     Tabitha waves the bowl near the other girl again. "I've never been to juvie... I run too fast." she says, with a smile. She may be joking and she may not. "Sorry about you feelin' homesick. You can call or video chat with your family, right? I bet a visit could even be arranged... maybe check with Grey?"
Jennifer Lindon "If I really wanted to visit, I just would. I'd be there in like ten seconds, tops." Jenny answers with a casual shrug. "I know exactly how to get there, and how to get back. I don't think I should be going home just because I'm feeling homesick, though. I'll call them tonight, I guess." The whole juvie things gets dropped pretty quickly, not even acknowledging Tabitha's comment. She does grab a handful of popcorn, "Thanks."
Tabitha Smith     Tabby grins. "Not _you_ goin' home... _them_ comin' here!" she corrects. "Other than bein' bored stuff like with classes, have you seen most of the place? You've been like, to the pool and found the kitchen for some snacks? There's a cool roof turret-thingy that's great for lookin' at stars or for sneakin' a smoke if you do that... away from the teachers' eyes." she collects a handful of popcorn for herself to munch on. "MMmph. Seen anyone that interests you? Got your eye on anyone, I mean?"
Jennifer Lindon "Oh. Uh, I don't know if they could spare the time for that. They're very busy." There is a reason they weren't here to drop Jenny off, after all. She doesn't seem to mind too much, "I've been to the pool and the kitchen, haven't made it to the turret, am not a fan of cancer, and no I don't have my eye on anyone. Any other questions?"
Tabitha Smith     Tabitha shrugs a shoulder. "I'm jus' tryin' to be nice, _new girl_." she says, emphasizing the last two words. "If that doesn't float your monkey, fine. I can go somewhere else." and she munches a bit more popcorn as she talks. "I got tons of people who want to abuse me, I don't need to stand here and take it from you." but she doesn't seem too angry.
Jennifer Lindon "Sorry, I didn't mean to be harsh or anything. It's just... I'm not used to being 'the new girl' you know." Jenny explains why she's maybe feeling a little bit overwhelmed by the sheer degree of curiousity. "So, uhh... what's something fun to do around here, I mean, something a bit more specific to this area."
Tabitha Smith     "Well, there's swimmin' in the pool, there's usually someone who'll play disc golf or volleyball, there's a tennis court. We've got horses if you like to ride." Tabitha mentions, counting off the things on her her fingers. ""Salem Center's not far. There's stuff to do there - places ot eat and shop, a movie theater too. There's a bar there called 'Harry's' that kinda cool. They have a pool table... though we have one here too." and she motions towards that, here in the rec room. "There's a tattoo shop there also. If you bribe 'em enough they'll do ink for you if you give 'em a good fake ID."
Jennifer Lindon "So lots of options, good." Jenny kind of keeps mental note of all the options, and squints a little bit at the last bit. "I think I'll steer clear from fake IDs for the time being, don't exactly want to deal with cops getting on my case again any time soon." This, presumably, is related to prior comments about juvie. "So what's Harry's like?"
Tabitha Smith     "It's jus' a hole-in-the-wall. Old guys drinkin'. Bikers and stuff." Boomer explains. She sets the popcorn bowl down near Jennifer. "It's not a tough place, and they're really good... or bad dependin' on the way you look at it... 'bout checkin' IDs. They can spot a fake a mile away, so noone of us drink there. Sometimes we go and have a cheap burger or nachos or wings and soda. I prob'ly won't go back for a while, 'cause an old boyfriend tends to hang out there sometimes."
Jennifer Lindon "Ahh." Jenny grabs some more popcorn, not a whole lot, just a bit. "So, I assume the movie theater is pretty much like any other movie theater?" She finishes her coke and puts the empty glass down on a nearby table. "Are there any things I really should know about this place that I probably haven't been told?"
Tabitha Smith     Tabitha grins. "Depends on who you've met so far. We have some weird folks here... like Doctor McCoy, like Lexi Nemo, but you've probably seen 'em walkin' around. They're cool, though." She thinks some more. "Mmm... if you think you hear a tiger in a room, that's okay too. Nothin' to worry about."
Jennifer Lindon "Weird folk, you don't say." The sarcasm is tempered with amusement, Jenny clearly just being good-natured even though she's being a bit of a smartass. "Tigers may lurking around the corner but I don't need to worry about it, got it." There's no sarcasm there, but there is something else, a growling stomach. "I should go see about eating, I think."
