Vanya It's a sunny day in Sunnydale, the kind of warm weather that brings families out to the parks and children into the streets - and the fact that it's a national holiday helps matters. Out enjoying the nice weather in her own way, a shock of red draws the eye to a fluttering pair of tattered pants hanging from the roof of a bus stop awning. In fact a whole woman is hanging up there; stretched out with her back against the thick metal support beam, with one leg and half an arm dangling towards the street beneath her, Vanya's hands are tucked behind her head as she gazes idly up at the sky through a broad pair blue-blocker sunglasses. A few long but shallow buts are finally healing away on her exposed arm, and a passing breeze knocks her sleeve up enough to prove they run as high as her shoulder. Seemingly oblivious to her odd replacement for a bench, the were-woman's attention is high, high above.
Katherine A sunny day, a perfect opportunity. Katherine is walking through the area, unconcerned about the looks a woman in black business slacks and a very revealing top might get on such a day like this where so many are more in casual outfits. In addition, the very deep plunging neckline and exaggerated feminine features usually gets her some looks. Though what some people end up always settling on is the complete lack of shoes or socks. Sure, her pedicurist is great, what with the nice glossy healthy looking toenails she has and the soft callous free feet, but no shoes? In a public park?

The first person she passes by, who is otherwise just sitting on a nearby bench gets Katherine stopping and smiling, "Hello, hi. Hi hi, no, wait a moment, good morn..." She pauses a moment, squinting her eyes to think, "Verily good day? No..." And soon enough the man who was enjoying his day grimaces a bit. Katherine hrms, "Sorry, to have bothered you." And she continues along her way, walking underneath of where Vanya is she looks up, "Hello? This is a day... er, no, a great day? A possibly beautiful day." She holds up a finger as if to tell you to hold on a moment while she thinks, "It appears that 79.87 percent of people agree, today is a stellar day, a bit on the warm side, but boy how they like what the girls will wear. Sales of swimwear are also up nearly 17 percent, I'd suggest getting them while they last. You?" She smiles nice enough staring up into the sunlight toward Vanya.
Vanya Vanya's own pedicurist might have different things to say - if the woman had one at all. The foot dangling by Katherine's head is thickly calloused, unpainted, and the nails untrimmed. The rest of her through the glimpses in her torn pants is, well, much the same. Someone's starting to grow in their winter coat.

The lounging woman ignores the greeting at first but as it keeps going her head turns slowly to look pointedly down with eyes tinted yellow by her lenses. The large runic brand spread across her entire face stands out clearly in dark ink against her sun-lit features.

"What the heck are you?" she blurts bluntly.
Katherine "A woman, of unknown ancestry, likely middle to eastern european with a bit of clearly german and russian genetics." Katherine responds to Vanya easily, still smiling largely while she stares up at the person. This might appear awkward to another, but Katherine continues the conversation non-plussed, "I am looking for the super intelligent and elite scientists of this era. Do you happen to know where I may find them?" She questions, looking around briefly before adding, "I have attempted to find them on the internet, but it is rather difficult, so many people claim to be so intelligent and yet are clearly lacking."

Something of a pause happens as she takes in more of your features, "Biological. Vagrant perhaps, but language is acceptable." She hmmms tapping her lip some in a moment of thought, "Do you wish for some money, booze, or illicit drugs in exchange for information? I believe I could get all three for you, though you are not carrying a sign on cardboard that indicates some manner of exchange of labor for food. You match so many of the pictures, with a high 80 percentile, and yet you do not seem to be begging... interesting."
Vanya Vanya snorts as she stares back, sharp eyes taking in all they need of the peculiar woman below after a few seconds. A transparent membrane discretely sweeps horizontally across her eyes in a not quite human blink. "I won't turn down money or booze but if you're looking for the smartest scientists in the world keep looking - and maybe try the news," she suggests off-handedly.

"And I'm no beggar," she adds with a smirk. Upon closer inspection the woman's pants have been torn as well as cut and her shirt's disproportionately clean; one of these was replaced recently.
Katherine "Oh. I apologize." Katherine comments easily and looks over the woman again, "You are just, on the streets, in ragged clothing. Albeit cleaner than most, you do have that animalistic look about you." She wonders, "The news is entirely unhelpful. The scientists they bring on are simply Public Relations folks, not the ingenius minds that should be around in this era." She thinks for a bit longer and wonders, "Do you know any super humans? People with extraordinary abilities? Technologically related better than simply born with it... maybe it's maybeline." She says, incorporating part of a commercial without skipping a beat in tone or conversation. Though she still smiles that exuberant enthusiastic smile, nothing like the craziness of the Joker or something like that, just too friendly and too happy to not be on something.
Vanya Vanya blinks as she turns to swing her legs over the side and sit up, cocking her head at the woman below. "You are a strange one," she murmurs despite still smirking a little. "But good eyes. If you want super humans try Mutant Town. I know a few... but no one useful if you want a scientist," the vagabond admits as a tiger tail swishes into view from behind her back.
Katherine "Ah." Katherine thinks about that for a moment, before offering, "Mutant town?" She questions in part but is already sifting through databases to find the most efficient path to get there. "I believe I know where that is, and thank you. You have been very useful." She continues to smile before adding, "Someone there may know someone who may know someone else, and so on. Eventually all crumbs lead to roads and all roads lead to Rome. You do not realize the impending doom that you have helped to prevent." And with that Katherine starts walking away, toward the street to take on the directions to head to Mutant Town.
Vanya Vanya watches Katherine leave with the same intent but curious expression before kicking her leg back onto the roof and laying on her back. Turning her eyes skyward, she scans the endless blue for the tiny speck of an eagle hunting high overhead. Well, tiny to human eyes...

"That was a strange one," she murmurs to herself.
