Kaelyn It's the late afternoon, and a redhead woman can be seen standing outside a red-bricked 2 story building, ok, maybe one that has a basement too. The lights are on, and the woman is currently cleaning off the outside windows. It doesn't take her too terribly long, as she finishes up, then she cleans the outside of the door before opening said door and working on the inside. Next, instead of taking her cleaning equipment inside with her, the redhead, picks up the bucket and wanders down the alley into the back...

The Alley is gated off with a large iron gate, and there appears to be a large number of potted plants, and even the ground is grassed in, with stepping stones making a winding path into the back 'garden' of the place. Seems there's a bit of a yard back there too... There's more building back there as well, this appearing ot be a garage, but still, the back yard is fairly sizeable, having a couple green houses, a couple big trees, and a crazy pattern of stone in the middle, kind of resembling a circle of sorts... The woman then stores the bucket inside a the back building and walks back out front. She stands back a bit, hands on her broad hips, and saunters on inside, the shop's door ringing as she goes into the place.

The front third is a kind of lounge area with communal books folks can look at and read... There's tables to eat at of course, big chairs in the corner to sit in and read, with tables that can be used at those big lounge chairs... There's also a large counter on the left wall, this having the baking area, cooking area, coffee bar, you name it, it's probably there for a small cafe/coffee shop.. There's also a checkout counter on the right nearest the door. The back 2/3rds of the show area is dominated with many vertical shelves. There's a section with books, crystals, there's a clear display with little clockworks in it, not to mention medicinal herbs, incnse, all manor of new age and occult stuff, though this is more of the old school setup and less of the fru-fru new agy junk....
Fredrik It takes some work and dedication in one's research to find the stores that are a bit more legitimate in regard to their new age and occult books and merchandise. From what Fredrik has heard, however, there's one shop that should take care of his book needs. And it's what brought the besuited young man in his twenties to Bludhaven in the first place. He's on the research path, and this place might have what he needs.

Having hopped in his car, GPS at the ready, he drives. And drives. Despite the GPS, he turns himself around once or twice before actually getting to where he wants to be. Getting out and locking the car, he enters the shop, the ringing of the door announcing his presence as he does so. He adjusts his tie slightly as he looks around, glancing at his surroundings as he gets his bearings. Ah, books. That's what he needs!
Kaelyn There's a trio of young women wandering around the shop, All wearing a-typical variations on a black witch outfit. One has her hat on, that would be the girl behind the food bar. The other two have theirs hung on their back.. The one behind the checkout counter turns and offers a smile, her auburn hair flopping as the college-aged young woman calls out "HAllo! Welcome to Enchanted Grounds, Coffee Cafe and occult store! If you need any help feel free to ask an associate!" she says rather overly cheerful but at least it's genuine cheerfulness...

Meanwhlie, A tall redhead looking to be in her mid 20's maybe? Wanders in from the back door, closing the thing behind her as he pushes a large book cart over to the ancient text transcripts area and begins putting books away, even goes so far as to go up a ladder on that back wall to get some of the larger books into place...

Meanwhile the blond with the hat on is busy dropping what looks to be little square chunks of dough into a fat fryer, carefully flipping the things after a while, then getting them out and setting them to cool. The smell of frying beingets and coffee is actually quite wonderous to behold...
Fredrik "Hmm?" Fredrik looks up at the woman at the counter, having been momentarily distracted by the array of items the shop had to offer. "Oh, yes. Hi. Thank you." He flashes her a smile, as genuine as her cheerfulness. "Looks like quite the store you've got here." He chirps softly, glancing about again, noticing the outfits the women are wearing, finding them curious. "I like the name. 'Enchanted Grounds'." He chuckles softly. "Clever!" He looks toward the redhead and the book carts. "Books in this direction?" He asks of the woman at the counter. It's more rhetorical, confirming what he's seeing. "Those are what I'm looking for! Though whatever's beeing made over there sure smells good!" He says with a glance toward the blonde at the frying.

"Ah, books. Books, books, books." He says in a cheerful tone as he approaches the more ancient of texts. "Any of these dealing with demons, perhaps? I found the books I already had were lacking. Especially about crossroads demons, but demons in general. I find it's best to be aware of what's out there, you know?" He clears his throat. "I'm sorry, I'm just chattering on. So, um, books about demons?" He raises an eyebrow inquisitively.
Kaelyn Kae tilts her head "I have Transcripts dealing with angels and demons, Other planar beings, tomes on the same.... " Kae says and ummmms... She wanders to the big revolving shelf and slides a ladder to it... The thing is actually in the corner of the building so only about a quarter of the shelf is visible. It even goes all the way up to the top of the 10+ foot ceiling... This is an old building afterall.. Kae spins one of the shelves, showing books, then the other, they all spin independantly... She grins a bit and points "These have scrolls, transcripts, and copies of ancient texts here... " She says and then motions to one of the touch screens around the shop... "These you can use to look up books by subject, list of subjects, genra, title, etc... It'll give you the shelf location.. also the tag on the shelf lights up too... This is a blue touch screen soo.." She enters a shelf number and sure enough the shelf tag lights up with that blue color... "It then shows ya the shelf after you look it up." Kae says and smiles slightly... "You'll need to do a little searching as there's no book on -just- that type of demon, but there's plenty of books, scrolls and transcripts with passages on that type of planar being... If you want originals, some are in the back or I can try and find you one... However our copies are -exact- copies, all the way down to the materials used in producing the writing." Kae then grins and sets about putting a few other books out, one appearing to be a tome nearly as big as her torso...
Fredrik "Useful texts, by the sounds of it!" Fredrik rubs the back of his neck as he watches the woman spin the shelf. "Lots of books! I see I've come to the right place!" He chuckles softly. "I figured it'd be a bit difficult to find a book specifically about the single type of demon I mentioned, but hey, you never know until you ask, right?"

He glances at the screens that were mentioned. "Well, that's useful! As long as these books are in English, French, or Latin, though, I should be fine." He approaches one of the screens and pokes at it. "I shouldn't need an original." He glances back at Kaelyn. "As long as it still has all the info I need, I should be good to go." After a few moments, he smiles widely. "Aha! This one shall do!" He selects the book." He takes note of the shelf info, and looks for the light that was mentioned.

"Oh hey, need help with that? It's a mighty big book you got there!" He says as he approaches Kaelyn on his way to the shelf with his desired book.
Kaelyn Kae umms and shakes her head "Nope!" she says cheerfully she soon has the monster on a lower shelf, no way was she gonna go up to a top shelf with the thing... "Book on contemporary magic.... The original was written in the mid 1400's so it's all vellum and pretty much hand written... They did have presses back then, but the one I copied was from a hand written book.. I got it in Laten, English, French, German, and Italian." She says cheerfully... "English version is out here..." She adds and then sniffs the air... "Yup time for beingets...." she says and grins before going to get her self a couple of the confections, and no she isn't charged for it.

Kae gets an extra one, and puts it in a bowl before getting a little powdered sugar on it and offers it to Fredrik "Enjoy." She says and adds "Oh I'm Kaelyn, Kaelyn Silverleaf."
Fredrik "A book on contemporary magic, the original written in the 1400s?" Fredrik furrows his brow. "It must have gone through a lot of updates since then to keep up with the various versions of 'contemporary' since then!" He shakes his head in wonder. "If I need a good book on contemporary magic, though, I guess I'll know where to come! Especially if I need said book in French or Latin." As Kaelyn moves toward the confections, Fredrik finds the book he was looking for. A big, thick book bound in leather, and written in Latin. An anthology on demonology. "Perfect. Absolutely perfect! I don't have this one in my library yet!" He seems quite happy with the find.

Hugging the book close to his side, so it doesn't fall, he smiles as he's offered the little confection. "Oh, thank you! It looks delicious!" He takes it with his free hand and pops it into his mouth. "Mmm!" He nods, a smile forming on his face again. "//Very// delicious! Thank you so much." He bows his head ever so slightly into a nod at her introduction. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Silverleaf. I'm Fredrik Stone."
Kaelyn Kae smiles and nods "Pleasure's mine, glad you could come into my shop and find what you're looking for. If you need other stuff, and know the titles I can look em up for ya." Kae says with a smile. She then settles into a lounge chair and motions to the counter "Ya can put that up there while you look around we can hold it for ya if you want to check out other things too." She says cheerfully.. Meanwhile she nibbles on Beignets her self... The girl somehow not really putting on weight what with all the pastry she eats.
Fredrik "Might as well check to make sure there's nothing more I want at the moment." Fredrik nods, placing the book where Kaelyn indicated. "What do you have pertaining to other such supernatural beings?" There's a short pause as he considers his words. "I suppose, to be more specific, I'd be interested in the likes of ghosts, or chupacabra, or poltergeists. Even sasquatch. Those sorts of things."

He chews his lip for a moment as he thinks. "I could probably use a new book on ESP and telepathy and the like as well, now that I think about it." He clucks his tongue. "This is my problem. As soon as I get into a store with books, I just think of more and more and more that I want to buy!" He chuckles softly.
Kaelyn Kae laughs... "Sooo do a search in the pad on the books that interest you. Prioritize ones you think you need now, then make a decision based on money. The prices for the books are all listed next to the title." Kae says cheerfully.. "And yah the confections are great." she adds and takes a nibble on her beignet.... She also takes a pull on her iced tea and tilts her head "Lots of things to look forward to!"
Fredrik "You make a good point. Yes, I should search those up! I just don't know if it's a good or a bad habit of mine, that I keep collecting books." Fredrik says with a chuckle. He heads back to the pad and starts tapping away, looking up the info on books regarding the various subjects he's interested in. Several spots on the shelves light up every now and then as he selects a particular book.

Eventually Fredrik has a pile of five additional books, all in a mixture of French, English, and Latin. "Well, that was an adventure and a half! I'd select more, but I should probably make it through the now six books I've selected before I buy any more." He says with a light laugh.
Kaelyn Kae nods and grins a bit... "Well you have a bunch of reading to do then it looks like." Kae says with a slight grin. Meanwhile Tina is at the counter ringing up those books whie whistling a cheerful tune to her self. Kae then tilts her head "Soo whatcha think of the store?"
Fredrik "Quite a bit of reading, yes!" Fredrik agrees, adjusting his tie again. "And I have a habit of making notes whenever I read, as well, so reading always takes a little bit longer than I'd care for it to, sometimes." He chuckles. "It's almost a bad habit of mine, taking notes, but I find it helps me retain the information better. Besides, on the upside, I can always refer back to my notes if I want to!"

At the question, he looks around the store, nodding ever so slightly. "I like it. It has plenty of resources, books and otherwise. On top of that, you've got a coffee shop with treats. You can never go wrong with those!" He says as he continues to look around. "And hey, you've got supplies for spells and potions. Very important. There's some supplies that are extremely difficult to get on one's own, as I understand it. So to have a place like this to come and gather them!" He makes one last final, firm nod. "A good place, you've got here!"
Kaelyn Kae grins a bit and nods "Well thanks.." She says nibbling on her food... Meanwhile, Wendy gets a little inspiration and whips up some suuuuper thick batter... She then starts dropping chunks into the fat frier kind of making nuggets of funel cake dough... The girl grins a it and spoons some out letting it cool and sets it in a bowl before putting som eon the counter and sprinkling cinnamon and sugar on them... "Try these!" Kae then stares at the confections and shrugs, making her way over to et some.. "May as well." She says to Fredrik.. "Wendy's a great cook."
Fredrik "A great cook can be difficult to find." Fredrik says as he glances oward the new items on the counter. "I've been known to dabble in foods myself, every now and then, but it's great to find someone else who loves to cook and bake. It's always quite evident when a person has a passion for food." Glancing at Wendy, he smiles. "And it seems like Wendy here definitely has a passion for it. It shows!"
Kaelyn Kae grins a bit... "Oh Wendy is quite good at lots of things." Kae offers and settles back into her chair now sipping on her macha late... "Sooo whyfore intrested in demonology? Got a problem with other worlders?" Kae asks curiously. "It's not my personal field of expertise, I'm mostly into making artifacts, and mechanical clockworks, potions, draughts, charms baubles all that ilk."
Fredrik "Huh. Well, it's useful to have someone who's handy around. Someone who can help out with a wide variety of tasks. Especially in a store!" Fredrik offers a little shrug in regard to the question of the subject that brought him here. "The long and the short of it is, not too long ago I was talking to someone about demons and the subject of crossroads demons came up. I know a fair bit about the occult, and some things considered to be myths and legends. But he had a particular question that I wasn't able to come up with a good answer for. It's been bothering me ever since, so I figured I'd get more information, research more about demons. I figured the extra knowledge could come in handy some day. And who knows, perhaps I'll learn something useful for if I ever run into this particular person again."
Kaelyn Kae blinks and tilts her herad "Dresden? Harry Dresden maybe?" she asks curiously and tilts her head.. "I talked to him not too long about such a thing..." She adds then umms "Maybe Noah?" she asks and taps her chin with a finger.
Fredrik Fredrik shakes his head. "Unfortunately, I never got his name. I could probably point him out if I saw him again, but that's about it. It was at some bar, maybe a week and a half ago? Two weeks?" He ponders for a moment. "Around there. As I say, though, it's been on my mind since. Demons, though. They're a tricky business, aren't they? I'd never want to get messed up with one personally!" He says softly, with a little chuckle.
Kaelyn Kae ummms "Really tall, kind of rough around the edges, fries electronics?" She asks curiously. The girl then stands and looks at the fried thingies again in her bowl "Am stuffed you want the rest of these?" she asks curoiusly. Kae then tilts her head "Soo what's your personal interest in the arcane arts?"
Fredrik "Well, kinda tall, scruffy, definitely rough around the edges." Fredrik says with a nod. "Can't say about the electronics. We were at a bar." He explains. Glancing toward the fried sweets, he blinks and then nods. "Um, yeah. Sure. I'd love to take them back with me." He offers a smile. "My own interest? Oh, well, that's a long story. Kind of." He takes a moment to collect his thoughts before he speaks again. "I've always had an interest in the knowledge aspect of it all. I've never been so good with any other aspect. Ask me about the magic that the Celts used, I could probably list off spells and potions and items they used for them. Or at least I could point you in the right direction." He explains. "Same with most of this. Or I could at least research it well enough. It started with reading my mother's books on word religions, which she's a professor of. I'm...I suppose you could say I'm almost a knowledge keeper of arcane arts. When I'm not working as a psychologist. I know that psychology and the arcane arts may seem like two separate worlds, but for me they're extremely intertwined."
Kaelyn Kae ooooh's and umms.... She tilts her head curiously... "Sooo yer an occult researcher, not so much a mage or witch in training then?" she asks curiously... Kae actually seems rather serious about this one. She tilts her head curiously and rubs the nape of her neck...
Fredrik "That's...well, yes. That's an apt way of putting it. A researching. I'm not so good with the magic and the spells." Fredrik offers with a nod. "Probably not what you were expecting, but it's the life I lead, I'm afraid. I'm not as interesting as some of these folks who can conjure up some interesting things, or bedazzle with a spell. I do what I can for those who are more skilled in other areas than I."
Kaelyn Kae oooh's and nods.. "Yaah, my self and my three employees are the kind that well, bedazzle and conjure and stuff..." Kae admits, studying the fellow curiously, wondering if he'll think she's a cook, believe her. Kae grins and sips more on her macha latte and then asks "Sooo what gotcha intrested in learning about the Occult?" She then adds curiously.
Fredrik "Oh yeah? Now that's actually really fascinating!" Fred says with a wide smile. He seems to believe her. "I've never been able to produce anything magical. Just don't have the talent. But I don't mind being in the background. We've all got our skills, after all." He says with a little nod. "I got into it back in college. I was studying the occult, because I was curious about it and how it affects people, or how people affect it, and I was drawn in. I've been studying it ever since."
Kaelyn Kae ooohs and nods, smiling "My family's a magical family and all, mum's a witch so are my sisters... I went with artificing." she says cheerfully. "Got a bit of a talent for making constructs and the like." Kae then stands and goes to fill her drink... Wendy rolls her eyes, and Kae sticks out her tongue... "I Like it, I buy the extra macha I drink, it's all good!" Kae says getting a bit defensive.. .She likes macha, milk and ice!
Fredrik "Ah, so you're particularly skilled in the crafts end of the arcane arts?" Fredrik nods. "Every talent, every skill has its place. Without someone working in each area, the arts wouldn't work as smoothly as they do. Of course...there's always a hiccup or two, but that's the case with anything." He smiles a little. "And if you've got a particular talent for a certain area, such as artificing, and you like it, all the better!"
Kaelyn Kae ummms "Well Artificing and such requires a pretty in depth knowledge of magic. Add to it, to be able to stick a magical effect in something generaly you gotta be able to produce it to some degree." Kae says with a bit oa smile "Case in point, I want to make a bolt of kinetic force... and make it so a wand can cast it. If I can't produce the spell to stick in the wand and the spell matrix to put in the wand so the wand can cast it multiple times for me, I can't do it.... Soo lets say enchanting and artificing not only requires you to know the spell but have such deep knowledge of it you can imbue an item with the ability to cast it."
Fredrik "Fair enough!" Fredrik concedes. "You see, there's only so much a person can do from reading. But it's the best I got!" He says kindly. "That being said..." He nods to his pile of books. "I should be paying for these and be getting on my way. I've got a lot to do!" He smiles. "But it's been a pleasure, and I'm definitely going to make a point of coming back here!" He says with a nod. "This may just have becoming my new favourite store!"
Kaelyn Kae nods, and of course the total is allready rung up by Tina... She stands and waves "See ya when I do, good luck with your learning!" She says cheerfully. Then She starts to make her way to the back of the building "I'm gonna go seet o some more inventory. You enjoy your purchase!"
