Viridian Viridian's been getting better. It comes in fits and starts for machines are more orderly creatures than people. Even the sentient ones. She does her best to put o a smiling face these days after daysq mroe of quietly sitting and staring at rooms or huddling with her wife quietly. It's hard to completely restructure a disordered mind. It gets easier, however.

Viri's thoughts aren't quite alien but they are disparate from her usual movements. She always had a bouncy, excitable quality to how she thought and organized, taking cues and leaping with them rather than holding still. This hasn't been the case for awhwile. The reason is becoming evident, atl east. She isn't just depressed. Her mind has changed, if subtly. The effects of the virus, perhaps.

Today, atl east, is different. Viridian seeks out Indigo with carefu l steps, manipulating her frame more nimbly than she could in times past. She is approaching the engine room where Indigo tends to hide slowly. "Is it a bad time?" Viri asks, forcing herself to use her voice. She sounds chipper, for once. Feels it, as well. A brief break in the clouds.

"I can come back when you feel up to having company, I don't mind."
Indigo     Indigo slides her arms around Viridian's waist and lightly presses her forehead to her wife's. Her eyes close, if only to keep her eyelashes from irritating Viridian's. "It's never a bad time for me to see you," she answers simply. Viridian should know by now Indigo has been thinking hard about Viridian's technovirus and is working on solutions to cure it; it's not information Indigo has even tried to keep secret, but she hasn't brought it up as a topic of conversation (yet) simply because she doesn't have enough data to test her hypotheses. She's been working on several plans with a serious mind, though.
Viridian     Viridian closes her eyes as well ater a seocnd and rests there bonelessl,, letting Indigo support all of her weight. "I have more strength in my legs now," Viri begins shyly. "I might try to walk short distances soon. On a regular basis I mean."
Viri lets her words settle in for a moment, her eyes remainign shut while she cosniders what else she has to say on the matter. She holds her breath for a second and then pauses briefly. "I was just tyign to respect your privacy. That's why you come down here. But - I wanted to see you. SO..." She gives a light shrug.
Viri laughs softly then, opening her eyes and twisting slightly in Indigo's arms so that she can survey the engine room. "I take it the ship's ropulsion is in working order then?" She sks, a smile working its way across her lips.
Indigo     Indigo's arms slide lower down Viridian, hooking under her butt and forming a bit of a chair for her to sit on while still getting hugs. "I saw you walk. I'm impressed," she says sincerely. "And Viri... I can't think of any situation I wouldn't want to see you too in," she adds, also sincerely. "I just don't want to make a big deal out of my emotional stuff after everyone went through so much to save me, is all. But the good news is, I've kept the engines in very good condition."
Viridian     "Well, that's good. We're going to have to go somewhere eventually." Viri settles into the 'hair' Indigo formed for her, sighign sotly as she does. "Yeah. I just mean- like. On a daily basis maybe. Just around the ship, but... Skritch can help me up if I fall if Max can't get close enough.' She breathes a soft sigh then, shifting her weight slightly. "I love you," Viri adds, in case it isn't already completely clear. "We'll figure this out. We should come up with a projecto r somethign though. Too long out of work makes everyoen gloomy, right?"
Indigo     "I love you too," Indigo promises. "And yes, humans do suffer psychologically when they're not working. I can't prove I'm the same way, but my compulsion to keep busy seems suggestive." Slowly, with heels planted, Indigo begins to swivel on her ankles in a lazy circle. "What work would you like to do, dear?"
Viridian     "Hmm." Viridan considers this for a mment, tilting her head again. her hair seems to default to white instead of brown these days buti t still changes. Now it is shifting toward sapphire. "I have no idea. Just - something. Build another spaceship, train Roombas to form boarding parties autonomously... Garden? Do you like flowers?" A blink follows. "I'm pretty sure- you do... Hmm. We should grow flowers."
Indigo     Indigo's brow furrows slightly. "Viri... have you disconnected from my mind?"
Viridian "..." Viridian pauses for a second then shakes her head. "No. You can check that. I'm just- having trouble ordering data." Her brows furrow briefly. "Things are all mixed up. These new technological parts are kind of weird to get used to."
Indigo     Indigo nods slowly. "Alright. Well, I guess that brings me to my first plan: I want to cure your infection, if I can. I've been downloading medical data for a few days now. I have enough knowledge to be a doctor, if not the physical skills to act on the knowledge I have--"
She omits the bit about how she could be several doctors by now, actually. No point bragging.
"--but it should be enough to get me work as a medical researcher, anyway. I want to start looking at planets that would offer grants and facilities to experiment. Are you okay with that?"
Viridian     "Of course I am. You can do anything you want to do, Indy." Viridian shifts a little bit again and then breathes a soft sigh. "I don't know if I want you to dedicate the next hundred fifty-something years to trying to cure me, though. It could take a really long time..."
Viridian considers this for a moment and then breathes a soft sigh. "I won't try to stop you. I'd do the same thing for you. I just-" the young Xandarian bites her bottom lip for a moment. "Anyway. It's going to get better.Just- it all moves too fast. Trying to think that way still doesn't make sense to me. So I keep missing details. Getting better with practice, though."
Indigo     Slowly, very carefully, Indigo lowers Viridian to the ground so she can cup Viri's cheek with her palm. Indigo's own pain and trauma are real, and a part of her will always be hurting from the things Brainiac 8 did to her, but she's making her peace with that, and finds it just doesn't seem that important as long as she has someone else to be concerned about. "I don't think it'll take that long. We both know what my capacity is, now." She mostly doesn't sound self-reproaching as she says it. "The biggest obstacles I can foresee are lack of diagnostic equipment sensitive enough, and the unique nature of your hybrid physiology. Both are solveable."
Viridian     "We don't know precisely what the requiremnts are to solve that problem, but.... You'e right. It probably won't take you as long as all that." Virdian closesh er eyes aain, allowing herself to rest across Indigo like she is floating in a pool. "We'll do that then. And then we can look at saving the unvierse. Mmmm." Viridian lets that settle for a second, breathing deeply ash she does. "I don't mind. I guess I'll work on the technological angle. Not that you necessarily nee the help..." she shrugs. "Parallel processing."
Indigo     Indigo nods seriously. "And another thing we both know is that a person can still have blind spots. Better two minds than one." She squeezes Viri close, then steps back to examine her face closely. "This is what you want? You don't feel like the virus is a part of you, like you'd miss it if it was gone?"
Viridian     "I'm not sure yet. But it's definitely dangerous.. Not to just to me but to others around me..." VIridian shakes her head slowly. "I can't keep this around. If I were to somehow let it free it might-" She lowers her chin toward her chest. "I'll feel weird. But weird might not be bad, right?"
Indigo     A few jokes flash across Indigo's mind, mostly having to do with Max and Skritch being prime examples of weird but good, but she leaves them unspoken and just nods instead. "It might be pretty nice," she offers softly.
