J'onn The sound of various systems and machinery running can be heard throughout the level of the Watchtower that the Workshop is on. Inside the technologically advanced room you can find the highest levels of Earth and Alien advancements. Some of these devices are so advanced that they appear mystical to all but the most experienced of technicians. A set of equipment has been arranged at the far end of the Workshop, all focused on a truly alien piece of technology that has currently spelled disaster for the planet Earth, and focusing all of his attentions on this device is the Martian Manhunter.

J'onn pulls down a large screen, appearing to be free floating, and places it near a cylindrical device that is about a foot long. Across that screen flies various languages, some from Earth, but most Extra Terrestrial in nature. Near by are two larger holographic systems that display the cylinder broken down into various components, but with gaps in the design that show missing pieces still being reviewed.

"Hmm" J'onn says outloud, "I will need to have Bruce, perhaps even Katherine, look at this when I see them next..."
Arthur Curry Into the workshop comes Arthur Curry, his gaze drifting across the varios item in whatever state of reverse engineering or study they might be in before his attention shifts towards the Martian himself, taking several steps across towards J'onn, but stopping far enough away not to interfere with the workspace.

"Any luck figuring out their technology?" Arthur asks, letting his gaze drift across the screen for a moment, "I can bring in a science team from Atlantis if you think it might be beneficial."
J'onn As Aquaman closes the distance, J'onn looks up from his work, offering a welcoming smile "Hello Arthur. It is good to see you." J'onn pauses for a moment, a little frustration showing on his face, "I have figured out perhaps thirty to thirty-five percent of it's function." J'onn motions with his hand to bring the incomplete schematics between them, "We were lucky that an individual named Molly was able to capture this device against Darkseid. Between her, my own knowledge, and another hero we were capable of sending Darkseid away to another set of coordinates..."

J'onn shows the device to Arthur, "These buttons along the cylinder are for inputting coordinates. I believe these symbols are Apokalypian language, numbers to be exact. This here is what confirms, and this final switch is what Activates and De-Activates the portals." He hands it over to Arthur for his own inspection, "I am trying to figure out the method of opening the Portals so we can hopefully build a counter. If we cannot figure out /how/ the portals open, we will be doomed to another invasion when Darkseid returns to his planet." With a nod, J'onn says "I would gladly accept any help you can provide, Arthur. I think this is a vital piece of our ability to protect the Earth."
Arthur Curry "The technology is quite foreign to me." Arthur says with a nod of his head, reaching out to accept the object and gingerly inspect the device for a few moments, "I cannot imagine what the next incursion might be like." He says, handing back the device.

"I'll bring up a specialist or two soon, we have some experience with portal technology, though I dare say much of that knowledge is lost, but it might offer some insight into your research into a countermeasure." Arthur says after a moment of thought, "If we can even just keep them out of the population areas, that would be something."
J'onn "It is disappointing that individuals so far advanced would turn all their efforts into solely conquering others." J'onn shakes his head in disbelief. "They could do so much more with what they know, and what they are capable of..." He accepts the device back, and places it back on the table.

"That would be extremely helpful. The Martians were well versed in Faster Than Light travel, but this technology is different than anything I have come across. I think combining our knowledge would be immensely useful in figuring out this enigma." He nods his head in agreement with Arthur, "Yes, even just deflecting the openings several hundred miles as well as identifying their opening points would be incredible."

"Arthur, I would like your advice on a few topics. There have been many people who have helped in these events. Sacrificing, putting their lives in danger, but with most do not recognize their contribution. How do you think we could move forward with helping to make sure these people are recognized for their heroic acts?" He points to the device, "As an example, the individual Molly had no business being in the middle of our battle with Darkseid, but she risked her life to perform the most vital function in sending Darkseid away from Earth. I believe there are many more who are like that, and I do not have a solution on how to show them our thanks."
Arthur Curry "That is a good question, J'onn." Arthur says, moving to lean up against one of the pieces of machinery, arms crossing over his chest, and he brings a hand up to scratch at his chin lightly. "I mean, a certificate of appreciation is a bit lackluster, and I don't know if we can recruit everyone to the Justice League, though it's an option." He says with a hmn, "I'm not entirely sure either, how to recognize them, a lot of people do not seek the recognition."
J'onn J'onn sets a few more scans to start, and turns back to Arthur as he listens. "Yes. Some of the people I am talking about have specifically mentioned /not/ wanting any recognition. I respect that, and would not want to bring them undue attention. I think there could be a recognition for some of the more Public heroes that are less well known? Perhaps we could ask Kal if we could perform a presentation for some of them?"

J'onn moves to stand by another piece of equipment, a mechanical arm attached to it, and small light that begins scanning the cylindrical device. "For those less inclined to public recognition, what do you think about a more private ceremony? We could do something at the Hall of Justice, or here at the Watchtower. To show our appreciation, because not only did they save our own lives in the battles, but the lives of many innocent humans."
Arthur Curry "A private ceremony is a great idea." Arthur says at that, nodding his head slightly at J'onn, "We'll bring it up with Kal, I can't imagine that anyone would have a problem with that course of action." He says with a chuckle, "You've got my support for it, anyway."
J'onn "Thank you, Arthur..." J'onn says with a smile, he thinks for a moment, and adds "..I have had a few conversations with various individuals. Some of them believe that we may be a bit unapproachable. This is the other topic I'd like to talk to you about, because as a Leader of your People I think you know how best to handle this. I think this is a topic for a longer discussion though, when you time, Arthur."
Arthur Curry "Of course, I can imagine a few reasons it might be." Arthur says with a little thought at the question, "But, yeah, that's best left for another time, perhaps with more input into the issue as well, I think. I should get back down to the surface and get back to work down there." He says with a slight frown, "I'll be in touch soon, and I'll try to get a specialist up to you."
J'onn "I look forward to it, Arthur." J'onn replies, "and thank you for the advice as well as the assistance. It is one of the parts about the League I enjoy the most, our camaraderie. Good luck to you, and safe travels my friend."
