Owner Pose
Black Knight     Double shift at the mansion. They happen. He's a grown man, and Dane does not complain. Sometimes these things happen. He is out of uniform, but the Ebony Blade is thrown over his shoulder in its swordbelt, and his nylon lunch bag clearly reads BK. But then who would steal from the Black Knight? You might be surprised.
Dane Whitman makes his way towards the front of the mansion. On cue, Valinor the majestic, sinister dragon winged horse is waiting for his master just outside the mansion. The t-shirt clad black knight pushes a hand through his hair and pauses to straighten a picture on the wall.
Diana Prince What Dane would come to find outside the mansion, other than his mighty steed, is that of Diana Prince, standing there not far from the horse and admiring it. She'd just gotten out of her sedan and was coming to speak with Carol Danvers here at the mansion, but the horse was just too much of a sight not to recognize it as such.

Diana is dressed in a blue sleeveless top that has a low scooped neckline, and a pair of black slacks and black leather heeled shoes. Her equally black hair is tied back into a pony tail of intricate braidwork.

When Dane appeared from inside, Diana's blue eyes would look upon him and a smile would appear on her red painted lips. "Is this your friend?" She asked the man then.
Black Knight     His eye look her over. Not like a slab of meat or even like a delectable dessert. Actually he is making a warrior's assessment. She seems to pass, as his smile is a warm, friendly one. "Tis Valinor. He and his brother--" The horse snorts softly. "Strider are my most dearest and truest of friends, and given the company I keep, that is the highest praise I can offer." The horse almost literally shoves his chest out. "Would you like to feed him a couple of apples?"He opens up his lunch bag and approaches. He fishes for the apples and hands them over. He adds, "I am Dane. It is a pleasure to meet you, Princess."
Diana Prince Diana would approach Dane and reach out to accept the apples, holding one in either hand. "Well, Strider is a beautiful name for a beautiful horse." She'd reply then. "And its a pleasure to meet you as well, Dane." She'd say with a warm and heartfelt tone to her Greek accented voice.

Diana would turn back to Strider and she'd approach him, holding an apple in either hand. "Okay, Mister Strider..." She said in a serious tone of her husky voice. "I have two apples here... now... they may look the same at first appearance, but you must choose only one to eat first." She extends them out toward him, left and right hand. "Which shall it be?" She'd ask then, standing just in front of the animal.
Black Knight The horse's ears swivel and he focuses on the Goddess. His big red, vaguely glowing eyes narrow. He does not eat. not yet. He sniffs and snuffles at the apples. The horse lifts his right hoof and paws at the ground once to indicate his choice.
"Strider is the white. Valinor the black."
At the sound of his name, Strider appears next to Dane with a faint pop, ears perked, looking eager. Valinor has no pupils, but he almost seems to roll his eyes in disgust at the obviously eager to go white stallion.
"Fear not. I have two more apples for you as well, Strider. I am sure the princess would be happy to feed you both."
Diana Prince Diana would let the horse choose which to eat and then she'd pet the front of his face with a soft handstroke. She'd move back toward Dane and offer him a smile. "They are both lovely." She'd reach out to take the other two apples to move to feed the second horse. "Are you an Avenger then?" She asked, while doing the same for his other horse, feeding them one apple at a time and petting the side of his face softly there-after.

"I have not had a chance to meet many of the team, though I am eager to."

She'd spend a second longer with the animals, all smiles and happiness radiating from her, before she'd turn back to move toward Dane. "You knew who I was so quickly... I need to do my studies better to return such kindneses."
Black Knight     His laughter is a short, sharp and rather sincere peal. "I usually wear a helmet." Dane adjusts his gear. "They call it a bucket. I am the Black Knight." His sword is over his shoulder. Valinor follows after Diana, giving her butt a nuzzle. Dane tilts an eyebrow, just says nothing. He rubs at Strider's ear. "Go home. It is Valinor's turn to fly me home." Strider gives a little stamp of his majestic hoof life a petulant child. Dane chides him. "I love you to, but we are taking turns." The horse gives him a little disappointed look, then vanishes.
"Do not worry about recognizing me. I am not the hero my friends are. I am just a man a bit too stubborn to die or to run when it is prudent." He gives a courtly bow, "Forgive my manners, Princess."
Diana Prince Diana would look back to the horse when it bumped her backside like that and she'd just smirk at the animal before reaching out to touch the front of his nose again softly and tap on it with the tips of her fingers. She'd look to the other horse as its master dismissed it and she'd give a watch as it reluctantly vanished. "Poor dear." She'd quietly comment.

A moment later and Diana would look again to Dane. "You are from, where precisely?" She asked, after having eyed his weapons and equipment since she'd first laid eyes on him. "I thought at first, Asgardian, but that does not seem right now that I hear you speak."
Black Knight     "Massachusetts?" Dane asks, and lets a little New England back into his voice. "Home of the hahd aaars." Hard rs. Dane smiles, shrugging his shoulders. "I spent 12 years trapped in the body of my ancestor in the 3rd crusade. It has muddled my speech a little. here, i was only gone a month." His teeth bite his bottom lip for a moment. "I had to take a year off to remind myself who I was here and get reacclimated. I can speak a little anachronistically if I let it slip out." He adds, with a chuckle. "I am far too short to be Asgardian. Maybe an Asgardian woman." He rubs at the short stubble on his cheeks. "An ugly one."
Diana Prince Diana would take her hand from the horse's face again and she'd place both of her hands together in front of her lap. She'd smile softly while listen to the part about his accent, but it faded as she heard the rest. "Goodness." She said very softly after hearing his story. "I am... glad you got to return to where you belong. As it is unfair to both you and your ancestor that your lives would have to be interrupted as such."

After a small pause and slight tilt of her head, Diana'd inquire further. "Do you have any idea... what caused you to not just go... into the past into the body of a relative, let alone, return from it years upon years later?"
Black Knight     "The Avengers took it upon themselves to perform a magical ritual." Dane explains. He is quiet a moment. "In the 12th century, there was a minor invasion. Skruls made an incursion into the Levant. They were met by me and my family's soldiers. They did not prevail." Dane says it quietly, his frown deep for a moment. "I think that is why I was sent there. Eobar was dying when they brought me back. We had... gotten old. My-his child was grown" His eyes are haunted. "Sorry. It can get hard to it all out. I apologize." His smile is gone, as he remembers Eobar's wife, who was his, and the son that was Eobar's son, and his. He shakes his head as if to clear it.
Diana Prince Diana would keep her attention locked upon him, she'd watch him say and explain these personal things and saw just how much it all effected him once they were said and done.

"No." Diana said softly. "I apologize to you. For prying. You have... gone through a lot." Diana would step toward him and reach out to take his left elbow with her right hand. "I am glad you have returned though, and if the Avengers have brought you into their ranks... then that means they see a greatness in you that few others have obtained."

A second later and Diana would show the man a soft and kind smile. "I... do not know how long you have been back, but allow me to offer it anyway. Welcome home." She added that last part and would then let her hand drop back down to her side.
Black Knight     She touched him. Dane is a lucky man. There is a lovely lady back at his home, and they are getting to know each other. The touch from the Goddess/Amazon Princess? It makes his cheeks turn rosy. "You do not know unless you ask, and I keep a low profile normally." Dane Whitman is not at all upset. "It is not prying. It is not unwelcome, and it is not an issue. I can get confused if I linger on it too much." 'Confused'? More like heartbroken over a life that became his and people he loved who have been dead for centuries.
"A little over a year back. Just barely." Dane admits, quietly.
His left hand pushes through his brown hair. "Yuo should come train with Thor, Captain America, and I. They could use one more who can keep up with them longer than I can."
Diana Prince Diana would folds her hands together in front of her lap and she'd smile and nod to those words from the other. "You seem to be doing well then, I'm glad for that."

When she heard him speak of the idea of training with those names, it made her show a grin and a light shake of her head. "I cannot imagine they would like an outsider like myself getting in the way of whatever routines it is that they have established for themselves. But, I would at the very least enjoy watching them spar."

Diana would glance toward the Mansion and then back to Dane. "I am supposed to be meeting with Carol Danvers. However, she sent me a message saying she might be running a little late. I suppose I am holding you up and making you late now, for wherever it is that this fine... gentleman... is supposed to be taking you." She glanced back to the butt bumper horse and gave it a little grin before looking back to Dane once more.
Black Knight     He bumps her butt gain. That horse is interested.
"He is a jerk." Dane says to Diana. Valinor lifts his head at that, and gives a snort. The horse shoves his big head into Dane's arms to have his ears and muzzle stroked. Dane obliges him. "She's not a mare to be bullied, even if she thinks you are handsome." He explains it with a certain soft, almost delicate patience, as if the horse is his child. "Say goodbye to the princess." Dane says. The horse spreads his wings, lifts his left front leg, and lowers himself and his head towards the ground in a grand sweeping bow before rising. Dane actually kisses the horse's cheek. "He likes you."
Diana Prince Diana was a mostly immovable object, even to a horse who's head was nudging her with liberties. A little and short laugh would escape from the Princess as the animal did this, and she next to never laughed outloud at all! She'd reach over to push the horse's head away if only in a playful sense and then would look back to Dane and give him a grin and a headshake.

"He is trouble." Diana said to the owner. "That much I can tell quite easily. Handsome, but lots and lots of trouble. He remind sme of my horses I had back home." She'd smile more evenly then and release a light sharp exhale. "I will have to have some again someday, they are just... as you likely know... difficult to work with in the city. Its not where they want to be."
Black Knight     "That is why we live out of town, right?" Dane tilts a brow. The horse shoves at Diana again. Playfully. "You will have to come ride. Valinor insists." His voice is fost. The horse stomps his hoof, emphatically agreeing. "When next we have a social event at my little castle, we will see to it you have an invitation." Valinor snorts happily, almost like a giant winged dog.
Diana Prince Diana would dip her head in a soft nod to the man's words then and she'd move toward the steps up toward the mansion's front doorway. "I very much look forward to that." She replied to him then and would then raise her left hand up and offer a little finger wave to both Dane and to the horse. "Bye now, Valinor. You behave." She said, giving a grin then to Dane before the Princess would turn to go inside and wander about some before her appointment would arrive.
Black Knight     Speaking in a hushed tone, Dane chides the stallion. "I know it is a nice butt, Valinor." Dane uses a gentle tone with the horse. "But what did I tell you? Women are not mares, and no. I still like Ana better." Dane chides the horse. He shakes his head. "Good day, Princess. It was a pleasure to meet you." He calls out louder, to be heard.
