Carol Danvers It's been awhile since Captain Marvel has been out in space adventuring along with the Guardians of The Galaxy, but she always remembers the time fondly. Of the memories she does still have, these are the precious few that still feel like her own. So it's always like coming home, in a way, when she gets a chance to visit the gang aboard the Milano.

As this was not a scheduled visit, when she comes in she calls out tentatively, "Peter...? Rocket...? Anybody home?"
Gamora     "They are all on Earth. As I will be, shortly," Gamora answers, from the Common Room. She is busy, presently, by all accounts in shoving several boxes of goods and other food stuffs into most any available spot in the kitchen. Apparently, visiting Earth comes with the price tag on stocking up on things like Lucky Charms, and Spaghetti Os.
Gamora looks towards the visitor, her features set in a thin, unexpressive line. "You can wait for them if you wish."
Carol Danvers "Earth...? Anything or anyone exciting snuck through Alpha Flight's radar? Or is Quill just feeling homesick?" Captain Marvel asks, as she follows the voice until she finds Gamora in the kitchen, "how you been Gamora? Still the badest badass in the galaxy?" She nods at the offer to wait, she will spare a few moments.
Gamora     "We came here for the bounty on Darkseid, Rocket and Peter thought the idea of a 70 million credit bounty was too good to pass up," Gamora states, with a flat expression. She shrugs, briefly, "Whatever else followed doesn't matter. We got here, and found the problem solved, and Peter wanted to stay since we were here for a few days."
She frowns, briefly at this, considering something, then looks to Carol, "But no. I am not aware of him being homesick."
Carol Danvers "Darkseid," Captain Marvel repeats coldly, "a shame you're too late to collect, but good that he's no longer around to ruin people's days." She moves a bit closer to Gamora, "I take it you're not too happy to be on Earth?"
Gamora     Gamora shrugs, "I'm not unhappy to be here. I would rather be -doing- something though, yes," she says, as she loads the last of the cases of cans of Sphagetti O's into storage. She shrugs, "But, I can at least understand him wanting to spend time on Earth."
Peter Quill      Peter arrives just a second too late to hear Gamora, say nice-ish things about him, but he does smile to see her and Captain Marvel standing on the Milano. He leans on the doorway to the cargo hold. "Figured it would be you or one of the Lanterns, so, what'd we do this time?" he asks, mostly joking. Though, he hadn't seen Groot for a bit.
Carol Danvers "There's that...figured as much," Captain Marvel notes, looking at Gamora with the Sphagetti O's, asking out of the blue, "you like these things? Or is it just nourishment, so you got no complaints?" Gamora was always fascinating to Captain Marvel, it seems she was molded a fighter from the getgo, so her entire mannerism differs greatly from anyone she met before. There was no pretense nor bravado, it was just Gamora. Such honesty could certainly be appreciated.

Turning around as Peter comes in, Carol snorts, "come on Peter, after all our fun adventures together, you really think I'd stoop so low as to go after you personally?" She laughs, and then quips, "if Alpha Flight were told to go after you guys, I'd send someone else..." a playful wink, and then she asks, "how come you missed out on the Darkseid bounty?"
Gamora     "I have no idea what Spaghetti is, or why they are in the shape of the Earth letter O, or why Peter insisted on having three cases brought aboard. But no. Presumably, this is his private stash. At least, until Rocket finds out about it," she states to Carol, apparently utterly indifferent if Rocket finds out, or on just how good Spaghetti O's are.
She looks back at Carol, "If Alpha Flight came after us, and sent someone else, they would lose." Matter of fact, Gamora is. But, quite possibly right, too.
Peter Quill Peter smiles at Carol, and the smile grows wider when she winks. "Looking good as always, Captain," he says moving from the doorway and giving her jaunty salute. "And glad we're not in trouble for once," he says, before his eyes go wide stumbling across a box of Lucky Charms, he begins ripping it open as he drops into one of the chairs. "What Gamora means, there, is you're the best," he translates before answering her question. "We missed out because Rocket, who's supposed to keep an eye on these things, got it too late," he explains. "So we're out gas money, -and- 70 million credits. Saw some footage of the take down though. Hell of a fight."
Carol Danvers "If Rocket can flip Spaghetti O's for credits, I'd be truly impressed," Carol notes, before grinning at Gamora's input, "which would suggest I do fondly still think of you as family. More than my real family ever was, that's for sure." Yeah, Gamora is right, not a lot in the Alpha Flight roster do stand a chance taking down the Guardians of The Galaxy if they don't want to get caught.

"Thank you, Peter," Carol seems happy enough to receive his compliment, peering at Gamora out of the corner of her eyes, and muttering, "what response would you get if you said that to Gamora over there?"

She does give Gamora a salute after Quill's translation, "I am highly honored, Gamora," if anything, underhanded or not, Gamora is not well known to give compliments willy-nilly. "I was rooting you guys to get the bounty, Rocket must be down on life, huh?"
Gamora     "I haven't seen him since we landed. No doubt he is attempting to find a way to swindle Earthers out of their money to compensate. I will be surprised if he does not kill a few people in the process who demand their money back from him, once they figure it out," Gamora says, conversationally. But, her labor is done, and all the Earth food they could afford, and fit, onto the Milano is there. She looks at Peter, already wolfing down the Lucky Charms. "You are not even going to save any of that are you? You're going to eat it all before we even leave."
Peter Quill "He better not flip my Spaghetti O's!" Peter says adamantly. "He can get his own if he wants to set up some primitive food kiosk on Knowhwere or something, actually, Gamora, can you write 'Racoon food' on the box, that'll stop him from looking in it." He adds to Carol. "He doesn't know he's a Racoon."

He chuckles though at Carol's retort to the compliment. "Her response?" he asks gesturing at Gamora with the box. "Probably Godslayer," he says with a nod to the sword riding Gamora's hip. He looks up at Gamora and flashes her a smile.

"Yeah, I haven't seen Rocket either, not since we found out about the bounty," he looks a little worried there. "I'm going to have to find that out," he says before digging into the Lucky Charms dry. "What? No, I'll save some," Peter says with his mouthful. He swallows and is quick to change the subject. "So besides omnicidal maniacs, what's been happening on Earth?" he asks Carol.
Carol Danvers "I'll have to try and catch up with him, if only to ask him to minimize hurting other people," Carol mutters, she already knows there's no point asking him not to steal. That's like breathing for him. Turning to look at Peter, she quips, "Gamora's got a point, little point in stocking up if you're chowing it all done before you even left the atmosphere."

"Are you sure he's a Racoon? He's pretty adamant, maybe we just see him like that, but he's not really what we see, you know?" Captain Marvel had seen weirder after all.

"Can't argue you there," Carol says to the 'Godslayer' remark, "it does sound pretty badass." Being asked about Earth, Carol relates, "the most dangerous was a Starro invasion that Alpha Flight managed to curtail. We do some good stuff after all."
Gamora     "Besides helping to deal with Brainiac, which this lot did while I was left stranded on a backwater planet," Gamora states, but she seems over the anger that she'd been carrying for a long while about that, now, "We've mostly been doing just a few easy jobs. Rocket really wanted this one, though. He and Groot are starting a, "Gardens of the Galaxy" on Knowhere." She considers, "I have to wonder if it was Groot's idea, or Rockets." She shrugs.
Peter Quill      "Good idea," Peter says to Carol about tracking down Rocket, it's followed by another mouthful remark, "It's cool, I can buy more," he says and then he's back to Rocket. "And maybe? Hard to tell? Still fun to mess with him though. Looked it up when I was on Earth, the Latin name for Raccoon is Procyon Lotor, going to see if I can get him to agree to that."

"And saved the universe," Peter chimes in about the Braniac thing. "We didn't abandon you, we just had to save the universe as previously mentioned," he offers Gamora a smile. "Ship wouldn't be the same without you."

"Probably Groot's," Peter opines. "And yeah, pickings have been slim for work these days, you Alpha Flight people don't have any most wanteds who need picking up do you?" he asks.
Carol Danvers "That's not very nice, you did that Quill?" Carol looks at him accusatorily following Gamora's comment, she has no doubt he had a hell of it if he truly left Gamora stranded away from such a confrontation. "If it serves booze, I'd say there's a good chance Quill has been involved, Gamora." All things told, 'Gardens of The Galaxy' doesn't sound half bad in concept.

"It's worth a shot, he might," Carol laughs at the lengths to which Peter would go just to get Rocket to agree that he is a Raccoon. "You guys really make a career out of saving the universe, leave some excitment to the rest of us too," she winks, though in all honesty, she's very pleased to have the Guardians out there. "If I had any, you know you guys would be first to learn about it, don't you Peter?"

At that Carol turns back to head out, "I just wanted to catch up with you guys, we should go out to space together again sometime soon. I missed you lot! But as you know, someone gone and made me Commander of Alpha Flight, so I need to get back in 'the office' as it were, take care!"
Gamora     "We will let you know before we leave, in case you do not get a chance to speak with Rocket," Gamora allows to Carol, nodding. Then again, Gamora wasn't really a goodbye type of person. She was just a leave person. Still, she knows Carol's ties are important - both to Peter, and to the Guardians should they ever need her.

She nods to Caro again, simply. "Just follow the credits, and you will find us, most likely."
