Havok Ding-ding does the little bell at the front door of the diner. Alex Summers enters with incredible style. Or so he thinks. He is, 3 days unshaven, unkempt, slightly discheveled, and looking like something the cat drug in from a long night at a bar and in need of food, coffee, and other things akin to a shower. Though clean, his clothing appears as if he pulled it from a duffel bag that was in the back of his Jeep - which still has the duffle bag smell. The black cargo pants over the black combat boots, the black pull-over long sleeved unstable molecule shirt (who knew you could wrinkle unstable molecule fabric?). He also wears a light Xavier's jacket that just bears the symbol of the X on the upper left breast of the fabric. It is made of synthetics, so not as wrinkled. He pauses at the 'please wait to be seated' sign while rubbing the sleep out of his face.
Kurt Wagner     It was a late night. Lots of brawls, the sort of thing that they don't do anymore. On some level, Kurt missed it. More than maybe he should. Things had been better of late. Suddenly they aren't.
Winifred and Stacy, the slightly porcine mother and daughter who run the place are very solicitous of Kurt. He obviously comes here often. Kurt is nursing a pot of coffee from the overnighter. He has a few scrapes and cuts.r    He gestures at Alex. "Join me, mein herr."
Havok "Oh damn. Kurt." Alex says quietly as he recognizes his long time school mate and friend. He smiles lopsidedly and meanders over. In route, he indicates to the waitress that he will be joining the blue guy and will need coffee and a menu.

Sliding into the booth, Alex will say, "Dude. Long time, no bamf. Good seein ya." He'll leave it open while getting situated into the booth, taking off the jacket and laying it to his side, nearer to the wall.
Kurt Wagner     Pushing over a coffee mug, Kurt pours from his carafe. "Mein ticket!" He tells Stacy. he shoots Alex a look. "I am happy to see you, mein freund." he offers his hand. "Particularly here." His eyes twinkle. "See some action? I broke up a few fights." His grins is warm. "Nothing major. Little things, other than one event." His features darken. "Gotham plates on that car. I might have to go visit them." he says that a little ominously.
Havok Taking the glad-hand, Alex will grip firmly with his preternaturally warm hand in return. The blue eyes of the mutant brighten and he even smiles. The familiarity breeds pleasant thoughts and reflections which display on his face. But Kurt's random words cause a moment of confusion. "What?" he asks. Then specifies as he looks out the window for some car with Gotham plates, "What plates? Is it illegal for people from Gotham to be here?"
Kurt Wagner "Last night. They played just a little too rough with a couple of mutant town girls." Kurt explains too casually. If he's going to go looking for them, it must have been bad. "They put one of them in the hospital. Scared the other. They got away while I was providing medical attention. I think they could use a good scare.' Kurt tilts an eyebrow. "I haff been told I can be scary, ja?" He grins back at Alex. "I cannot let this one go. The girls gave them all their money. Is one thing to mug someone. Another thing to do it because they are mutants, und another thing entirely to then beat them afterwards." Kurt blows over his coffee. It's black. He gives Alex a slow nod. "Katzchen was out with me last night. We were running down leads on Mystique as well as doing some rooftop work. Like old times." he sips his coffee. "We need to get her first. There will be more blood if the authorities catch her." Something is obviously bugging him. His tail is twitching.
Havok With his attention returned to Kurt from glancing out the window, Alex listens and begins to understand the string of sentences now. "OOoh." he acknowledges that it's all coming together in his head with a nod. He adds in agreement, "Dude, yeah, you can be scary - until people get to know you. But you're right; guys like that need a beatdown." He leaves the Mystique topic out of his mouth for the moment. He's more concerned with people that need to be taught a lesson.
Kurt Wagner     "Ja!" Kurt says, completely agreeing with the sentiment. "As Logan taught us growing up, sometimes, someone just has to pay." Kurt rubs at his face. "It is good of you to be here. It has been awhile since so many of us were out over night, and we were not sneaking out." Kurt gestures at the menu as Stacy brings it over. She is cute, if one likes slightly pig-like girls with a cyborg arm. 'Like the new hand, Stacy?" Kurt asks. Stacy beams. "Oh yes. The Avengers made one with two many fingers. They were happy to give me this one." She holds it up. Two fingers and a thumb. "Counting to five on one hand? it is over-rated, Stacy." Stacy laughs, gives a little snort. She points at the special to Alex. "Get the pancakes." She says warmly. "That, the bacon and eggs, it's half off for our heroes." She walks away though, though, to let him figure it out. She looks shyly over her shoulder at them both.
Kurt sighs at that, and sips his coffee. "When I bring Lorna in here they all but bow. To a lot of people here, Magneto is right, but we're their folk heroes. It is far too complicated here, mein freund."
Havok Alex will observe the exchange between Kurt and Stacy, the arm, hand, and the nature in which she uses it. He's down with the pancakes, bacon and eggs. But before he can agree to her suggestion, she walks away. Oh well. Next time. Seeing as the subject changed to something more familiar and not something that happened years ago, Alex will add, "Totally know that one. I spent a few weeks on Genosha when I got back. There was a whole lot of that regal stuff going around. Here, you're right, it gets oddly complicated and muddled up like the water in the East River. Too many factions and too many loyalties split."
Kurt Wagner     "I fear." Which is a strong word from Kurt. His fears are personal. his doubts are kept to himself. Kurt talking about his fears, even as a turn of phrase is an oddity. "--We are to blame, partially. What we do up at the school is important. Lorna und I have been talking though. For as important as it is, is it helping out most of these people/" Kurt taps his bottom lip. "Stacy will nicht leave her mother to go to school with us. She has her GED, und she is trying to get into public school." His head tilts to the side. "Mein eyes are open. I feel I got complacent. It felt like things were so much better. Nein. I will be here a lot more, und I will be on a rooftop late at night when i should be home a bed." He gestures with his coffee mug. "Maybe I am getting stuck up with mein marriage to their princess. But I feel like I owe them service for the respect und kindness they show me. I hope mein head is not swelling, mein freund."
Havok "Wait, what?" Alex asks as his attention fully falls upon Kurt. "I knew you were dating.. but wait? Married?" There is a clear indication of stun on Alex's face when he's trying to get to the bottom of the statement. He leans slightly forward, elbows on the table, arms flat on its surface.
Kurt Wagner     "We eloped." Kurt answers. "She had to make an honest man out of me." Kurt quips.
Stacy pops back by. "I talk you into the special, cowboy?" She asks warmly.
Kurt sips his coffee all too casually. He is not interrupting that. This is to funny.
Havok Alex doesn't even look at Stacy when he answers, "Yeah, the special is great. Thanks."

Alex then says, "Eloped... dude. That's a total surprise. It's great. But wow. You two actually got married? Then again, she was always into velveteen." Alex will smile, broadly, making a good joke.
Kurt Wagner     Stacy nods her head, and heads off, hollering at her mother. 'Another special for the blond!" The response comes from the kitchen, "Another special!"
Kurt nods his head. "She does enjoy velvet." he agrees, quietly. "We needed to make it official. Just stuff happening, commitments needed solidified. It.. is just complicated."
Havok "I suppose. That sounds like you're talking politics. Unless you knocked her up. In which case, Magneto is gonna kill you for getting her pregnant before marriage." Alex smiles, teasing, but also adds quietly, "It was nice knowing ya, Kurt."
Kurt Wagner     He gags! Kurt chokes on his coffee when Alex says something about Lorna being pregnant. It is a coughing, nasty sort of gag. He got all sorts of coffee in his lungs. Kurt coughs a couple of times into a napkin. He finally clears his throat.
"If I did, ja. We would haff eloped." Kurt does not confirm it, but he does not deny it either. He dabs at his face.
Havok Alex chuckles through the choaking and then shakes his head, "I can't wait to see the green fuzzy baby that you two have made. Are you hoping for a little girl, or a little boy?" He is totally running with it. But, there's also the fact that he has a son in another reality that he's had a lot of experience with. So he knows the joys of parenting/fatherhood and is genuinely interested and hopeful that Kuorna has made a baby.
Kurt Wagner     "I am sure if it were to have happened, I would be unable to confirm nor deny until some people who needed to know were told." Kurt continues, hiding a grin as he does so. "I haff been told by Herr Doctor McCoy however to expect blue teleporting babies with the ability to bend magnetic fields. So... there is that to look forward to, when the blessed event can be confirmed, und I certainly can nicht say that we would likely haff twins."
Havok "Babies, plural? Like your Banfs.. wait, will the Banfs be jealous?" asks Alex as he reflects upon a possible conundrum of chaotic and demonic craziness which would occur within a home. He settles back into the booth, drinks some of the coffee and then water following it. His blue eyes are clearly entrenched in the story and curiousity has taken firm hold.
Kurt Wagner     "His eyes darken. They go from gold to a dull amber. "I can nicht say. So, uh, how are you? Still loving the teaching job? I am so much happier in administration, meinself. It means that I get to work the field, recruiting."
Havok "I'm sorry to say, no. I've not really felt like I've fit in since getting back. Like I said, I spent weeks in Genosha seeing how that worked. Which it didn't. Magneto wasn't the same Magneto from the other place. So after coming back, I tried to find a good footing. No joy. This world is, like we said earlier, complicated. There's too many factions and not enough solidarity or direction with momentum. Just a bunch of random people doing random shit. And to top that off, I don't agree that Xavier's is doing the right thing for the students. Tossing them out on their ear after graduation really doesn't work. Because the world doesn't want us like Xavier preaches." Alex answers bluntly and quite disgruntled.
Kurt Wagner     "Ja. We can both think of students who are out an about without any direction. Or others who come back because they know nothing else? Or still others who sort of vanish and find other passions. Those I think might be the real success stories." Kurt is quiet for a moment. "If there is a Genosha after this, Lorna und I? We are going to fix it. She is heir. That makes me the consort. Openness. Constitutional monarchy. Transparency. respectability." Kurt sighs, rubbing his forehead. "At least as much as Israel. We will have to work on it."
Havok "So what about your mom? How much has she fucked it all up? I mean, seriously. Mystique really needs to get a handle on her actions... unless it was Magneto who told her to do it. Last I saw her, she was at Magneto's side. And she really doesn't act on her own accord. You think that she just made Genosha a big target for the world's nuclear arsenal?" Alex asks quietly with a tone of annoyance under his breath.
Kurt Wagner     That makes him shut up. Kurt gives Alex a flat, hard look. The kids stuff he would joke about. This? Not so much. "What are you talking about?" Plates arrive at a nice awkward moment.
Havok "You said you were on Mystique's trail." Alex states as he comes full circle back to one of the original subjects. "I know she's up to something. Always screwing things up. Hell, she was just the same in the other reality. Claiming to make the world a better place with less humans. Such a fuckup."
Kurt Wagner     "You said my mother." Kurt says coldly. "Why would I be after Margali Szardos." His tone is cold. Maybe he doesn't know? Or maybe he is defensive about it?
Havok "Oh, you didn't know?" Asks Alex, "Your mother, at least in the other reality, was Mystique. I figured she was here as well. My bad. But it Margali really old enough to be your mom?"
Kurt Wagner     Taking a long moment, Kurt pulls in a breath. "Let's say she was mein birth mother." Kurt answers. "Let's say that she had told me everything. Let's say that that I know everything I need to." Kurt pulls in a quiet breath. "Let's say I married a princess? Let's say I was going to help this princess make her rogue nation a gut one? An honest one? The sort of place that people would want to live in? Could I do that as the son of an assassin, spy, und terrorist, Alex?" He looks candidly at his friend. his eyes glint once. "Margali Szardos is mein mother."
Havok "Dude." is said plainly by Alex. "You know, the followers of Magneto, on Genosha, they idolize anyone close to Mags. That would be Mystique. As a whole, they believe that Magneto's actions, regardless of morality, are the right actions. And through him, his hand - Mystique, can never be wrong. It would just solidify the whole family thing. Now... the rest of the world... well, that's the wrench. Either way, I'll go with what you say. Plus, Margali is hotter than Mystique in a milf sort of way."
Kurt Wagner     "Never change, Alex." Kurt deadpans with a laugh. He just shakes his head and slices his pancake with a soft shake of his head. "So, what are you doing with yourself now?"
Havok "Drinking. But not driving. Blasting. But not destroying entire city blocks. Finding a place to fit in. But really not happy with what I find." He answers and then tops it off with, "Remember what we said about this world being complicated? Yeah, it's like that. I'll find a place. It's just a matter of getting into a groove and finding something I can call my own. The X-Men are Scott's... I miss leading the Six." <his otherworld team> He gives another pause and then says, "Maybe I'll put together another team. Make a difference."
Kurt Wagner     Slowly nodding, Kurt says, 'Well what is your passion?" He asks it with a little grin. "I mean, What about the Avengers?" he asks with a tilt of his head. "You have a tremendous power. Anyone would be happy to haff you."
Havok "You know, that's crossed my mind. I figured though, there would be some interview process where they do a background check and find out that I'm a mutant terrorist with ties to the X-Men, Magneto, and everything that they think is wrong with the world. Then there's the Just-Us League. Which I'd never fit in. I don't have super strength on top of a ton of powers on top of invulnerability."
Kurt Wagner     "Sounds to me like you have more or less decided to just be angry or alone." Kurt says, as if he can relate on some level. He considers his old teenage self and the man in front of him. "Have you considered talking to jean?" he asks with some genuine concern.
Havok There's a confused look on Alex's face as he furrows his brow between bites. "Why would I talk to Jean?", comes the question. He honestly doesn't know what Jean can offer in regards to the situation.
Kurt Wagner     "Perspective." Kurt offers. "Before Lorna and I were an item, she helped hold mein hand through a few of mein low moments. Alex, I am your freund. We are in different places. Very different places." Kurt considers his breakfast. He taps the table. "She is wise, not just smart. She gets poo-poo-ed as a pretty face. I value her as a freund und confidant."
Havok Realizing that Kurt was taking a whole different approach to the Jean reference, Alex relaxes and accepts the advice, "Thanks man. I appreciate it. I think you're right. Jean might be the one to talk to about all this. I'll do that..."
