Natasha Romanoff     One might get a feeling SHIELD didn't trust Erik Lensherr.

Upon being taken into custody by SHIELD, he was whisked off to a secure site in a hidden bunker. Within, there was an entire security system designed specifically for his powers. The cell was made of a thick plastic, everything within was of the same material. An extendable walkway would be used when the security personnel needed to speak to him directly, such as when they delivered his meals. The room itself was shielded by all manner of devices so his powers couldn't reach outside that small plastic cage.
At an unusual time, the walkway is extended to attach to the cell. The figure that approaches is familiar, the same one that took him into custody. The one he surrendered himself to without a fight. She is slight of stature but carries herself with a surety of someone able to handle herself in any situation.
"Mr. Lensherr," Natasha says by way of greeting, nodding her head as she stops by the entrance to his cell with her arms crossed.
Magneto     Erik looks up, as if he didn't notice the red head approaching, and he clears his throat just once before he speaks up. "It is Lord Lensherr, miss Romanoff." The master of magnetism stands up slowly and takes in a soft breath before he turns to face the entering woman fully. He tugs idly at his prison garb, the fabric is itchy on his skin and it reminds him of another time he was imprissoned in his life, but this was at least something he earned, not something that was thrust upon him.

"To what do I owe this visit at such an odd hour?" Indicating he's aware of the unusual timing of the spy's visit.
Natasha Romanoff     "My apologies, Lord Lensherr," Natasha says simply. She notices the way he adjusts his clothing. "I can have somethng more comfortable brought to you. I'm not sure why they forced you into that attire," she offers. She remains standing with her arms crossed as she considers the man, green eyes flicking over his face as she tries to read him as she does most people. It's a skill set she has used to help SHIELD for many years now.
"I have been sent to ask you a few questions about the events that transpired." Everything is being recorded from the control room, so there is no need to take notes. 'Would you be willing to speak with me?"
Magneto     "I believe they feared I had metal laced within my clothes. The over imaginitive sods." Erik says with a kind smile before he nods once and walks over to the set of chairs and the table that has been made especially for him. Taking a seat the man smiles and invites Natasha to take a seat on the other chair.

"I am more than willing to speak, I've been waiting for it. What is it you would like to know?"
Natasha Romanoff     At the offer, Natasha does settle into the chair. She is dressed in her standard SHIELD uniform although there are no weapons on her person. Also, there is no metal of any sort. Even the zipper of this bodysuit is made of a composite material instead. "The evidence you provided is being reviewed for authenticity," she offers first, opening with something a bit more positive. "Thus far, it seems real. It will take more time, but you seem to have been right about our former President." She's certain he's been told of the President's death by this point. If not, he's in for a surprise.
"I understand your anger but attacking the White House doesn't reflect well upon you. Even for the right reasons. There are channels in place for these types of situations."
She tilts her head slightly, looking him directly in the eyes. "Were you involved with the assassination?"
Magneto     "The assassination was exactly what I was trying to prevent." Magneto says, seemingly non-pulsed by the news of the man's murder. "I wanted to out him publicly and dramatically, but I also assumed a fellow mutant would attack the man as soon as I did. Hence my drastic actions of defacing the white house." Erik says calmly as he leans back into the chair and crosses his legs at the knee, and laces his fingers to rest on the top most knee.

"Do you have the attacker in custody?" Magneto inquires softly, looking at Natasha's eyes closely.
Natasha Romanoff     Natasha considers the options but opts for truth this time. "We suspect she is a shapeshifter. Raven Darkholme, aka Mystique." She watches him just as closely when she reveals this information. "She impersonated the First Lady to get close to him. She used those same abilities apparently to escape custody at the hospital where she had been transported."
"She has been known to be an associate of the Brotherood." She doesn't mention that his name has been linked with that group in the past as well. It's unnecessary. Truly, it wasn't necessary to point out Mystique was but that was for a purpose. She watches for those micro expressions that give away details when people don't even realize they are doing it. "You were not acting in conjunction with her, serving as the distraction to allow her a chance at her target?"
Magneto     Erik is stone faced, his expression doesn't change a bit when she mentions the name of his long term associate. He was doing what he knew to be the best course of action to protect mutants and protect his kind for the forceable future and to weaken the threat of America and her out rageous demands and double standards.

"I had a sneaking suspicion it was her who would attack the president, but the way you speak you have no proof it was her or some other shapeshifter, mutant or otherwise." The barely younger man notes casually as if they were talking in a park over lunch.
Natasha Romanoff     "As I said. Suspect. I don't have the details of what has been found at the crime scene specifically, I just know what little has been shared with me." Natasha gives a faint shrug. He didn't answer the question. Something that sends red flags waving in her mind. Avoidance often can be associated with guilt. Not always but it can be. He's more interested in knowing if they have proof against his former associate.
"You apparently believe the same thing, that she was likely the killer." By his own phrasing. "So you were the distraction, allowing her to get close in the chaos."
Magneto     "I believe she's the most likely and she does fit the holes in the plot more than anyone else, but that's the thing about us mutants, we're all different, but there are times when nature repeats itself." Erik says with a smirk.

"To sum up and clarify, no, I was not aware of her involvement, if indeed she was involved."
Natasha Romanoff Interesting choice of phrasing. Still speaking of others instead of himself. Natasha doesn't bat an eye as she continues with the interview. "Despite the damage to the office, we were able to retrieve the security footage of the attack. Including the audio. The suspect involved said the words 'Mutant and Proud.'" She hesitates there, taking a moment to be sure she gets the words right. "The last words of the President were 'So was I.' Were you aware that President Underwood was a mutant as well?"
Magneto     Erik's eyes pulse wide for a moment at the revelation brought forth by Natasha. He keeps his back against the chair and his hands upon his knee, but he squints softly as he then tilts his head back. "Interesting choice of words, don't you think?"
Natasha Romanoff     "Very much so," Natasha agrees although she doesn't explain how she finds it interesting. "They could be interpreted several ways but the consensus is that he was also a mutant. In her fervor to kill a man who killed a mutant, she took out the first Mutant President. Just as an intellectual exercise, do you think she cares?"
Magneto     "You think he was worth defending? The man who could push people onto train tracks? Is that who you want for the leader of the free world?" Erik inquires as a counter to her quesitoning.
Natasha Romanoff     "I believe that he should pay for his crimes. That involves taking the right steps. Not choosing to be judge, jury and executioner. We have laws in place that would have dealt with his criminal act. Instead, she chose to take that away. He's dead. He didn't suffer for what he had done. In some beliefs, he was actually freed by taking his life." She shrugs and rises to her feet, moving toward the door. "I will report your responses." As though they aren't already being reviewed. "Is there anything else you would like while you are staying here other than perhaps more comfortable clothing?"
Magneto     "Some lemonade would be quite refreshing." Erik replies calmly. Satisfied with how much ball he played with Natasha, knowing he gave them a few pieces they might try to use against him, but there's not really any way to tie him to this as he knows he had no power or sway over Raven's actions.
Natasha Romanoff     That earns a faint smile and then Natasha is slipping out the door and securing it behind her. "I'll get that set up for you as well. If you would like to call your daughter or anyone, it can be arranged of course." Within the little plastic cell. Not that he's been the least bit uncooperative but paranoia at it's finest thy name is SHIELD.
