Brooke Harris It's a quiet day, and things aren't too terribly busy with the usual chaos paused for the moment. Crowds earlier, crowds later, no crowds right now.

Brooke slips into the restaurant silently in flowing loose black workout pants and a purple blouse under an unzipped hoodie with the hood down. She takes a seat at the counter, ordering a couple of large chili burgers. No bun. Extra tomatoes. No cheese. On a plate. With unsweet iced tea. No ice. She crosses her legs, sets her purse on the counter, and looks around a bit, idly picking at some tape stains on her knuckles.
Diamond Lil Diamond Lil might, once upon a time, have ended up waitressing in a place like this and been grateful for it. Or, at least, that's the way her life looked like it was heading, before things got very, very different. As if it, she has a decent salary for a federal agent, albeit a Canadian one.

She's finishing off a piece of pie and a cup of coffee, dressed in a pair of jeans and a hooded sweatshirt. Her dark hair is pulled back into a ponytail as she glances a bit nervously at her phone. You never know when duty's going to call, after all.
Jughead Jones Jughead Jones is already here. Then again, he practically lives here. It isn't like his home life is exactly wonderful. The youth sits in one of the booths, tapping away at a laptop. He's dressed in a black jean jacket with a brown collar, along with a faded old Smashing Pumpkins shirt (So very retro!) and dark jeans and scuffed boots. He is wearing, as always, his grey-knit beanie that resembles a crown, with a few buttons on it. His laptop looks a decade out of date, with a sticker on the back that reads 'THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS', and another of Whimpy from Popeye, munching on a burger. Speaking of which, an empty plate, cleaned of food, sits beside him, along with a mostly empty glass of soda. He glances up from whatever he is writing now and again, peering at newcomers.
Kaelyn And so, Kae now finds her self into a chock'lit shop. She pauses just inside, her green eyes adjusting to the light. Meanwhile a dark bronze, almost black tiny dragon can be seen lifting its narrow pointy nose to sniff the air, it's little amethyst (litterally) eyes popping open and glowing slightly as it gazes around the place... Kae pauses as she feels the dragon move and sighs "Yer a glut Fahn..." She mutters, then sighs "Not that y'can put on weight.." Yes the latter is spoken this time with a bit of an Irish accent, her having just recently spent time in Ireland and whatnot. She's a bit of a linguistic sponge...

Kae tilts her head again curiously and heads to the counter to place her order... "Umm a large chocolate milkshake, and a small one.." she looks at Fan.. "In a bowl please..."
Brooke Harris Brooke looks over at the bowl, and the dragon, and decides she is hardly one to speak up about unusual orders. But the dragon is a bit weird. She takes a slow breath and centers herself a bit and feels around at the life around her, because, well.... dragon? How odd. And of course there is more than one person in here that doesn't quite ping as... typical. Hmm. She gets her patty and stuff on the plate and slices off a bite, nibbling and looking around.
Diamond Lil Diamond Lil narrows her eyes for a moment at the dragon and makes a note in her phone. She's not sure if you need a license for that sort of thing. Is she a law enforcement officer? Maybe? She wasn't really sure exactly what her legal status with Alpha Flight was. Odds are, she probably couldn't. She wasn't exactly the most trustworthy member of the team.

Plus, the dragon was kind of cute, so she didn't really care. She lifts up her phone for a moment, "That's really...neat. Would he be okay if I snapped a picture or would that, like, freak him out?" she asks in a soft voice.
Jughead Jones Jughead Jones has never seen a dragon...thing. Not in person, anyways. Stuff like that rarely happens in Riverdale. His eyes widen a bit and then he blinks, before he fishes out his battered cellphone, which is a generation or two behind the new ones, and he snaps one or two quick photos of Kaelyn. The others will never believe him, afterall. His other hand reaches towards his plate, only for his fingertips to touch emptiness. He blinks and glances down at the empty plate, his brow furrowing. There is no flash or anything from his phone, or sound when he takes the pictures.
Kaelyn Kae looks to Lil and smirks "No you won't freak em out... If anything you'd encourage em to more shenannigans... Anyhow, he's a construct, a fully living construct but a construct none the same..." She says and after getting her order, she settles at a table and sets the bowl out to the little dragon. if one were to look closely, his eyes are indeed smooth polished Amethysts, all the way down to the included facets within the eyes. Still they have a living quality to them as does the rest of him. NO visible clockwork per say, he moves naturally, cleanly, not ticking, or jerking or the like...

Kae grins "Anyhow Fan likes people enough... odds are, you get a bit of string out and you can entertain em for hours... Feathers and straws are good too." she says and shrugs... "Think of em a very very smart, scaly, winged cat..."
Mon-El     Outside in the cold, dark, evening sky, a streak of light has appeared. Is it a comet? A falling star? Part of a meteor shower? No, it's too close to the Earth be that. In fact, if you were on the ground you could see a trail of fire and smoke behind it. Closer and closer it comes. Wait, it's not a rock--it looks like...a man. Whatever it is, it's headed straight for Pop's...

Yep, right through a sky window with a crash. The window is obliterated along with a portion of the roof. He lands in the middle of the floor, cratering it pretty badly. And now things are on fire, too. Well it's a good thing a few heroes happen to be present and on hand to do something about that tonight! Especially Kae. Because, like she's good at fixing things. Right? And she really seems to be good at cleaning up after Lar. Heheh....
Brooke Harris Brooke just sort of watches this and sips some lukewarm tea. "..Huh, that's neat." She quietly takes stock of the people around. Gets out a new model smartphone. Takes a picture or two. Puts it back in her purse, all grace and smoothness. Her eye flicks across the door briefly. Then up at the window.

What. The hell.

Her eyes widen a bit and she softly pushes off from her stool before the crash. She lightly raises an arm to brush a fairly sizable chunk of debris out of the air before it hits her in the face before glaring at the invader. Or.. whatever.
Diamond Lil Diamond Lil throws herself in front of Kae and the dragon, her fascination with the creature quickly overwhelmed by the sudden and violent arrival of whatever it is that's arrived.

"Watch out!" she calls turning to try and face Mon-El, unsure of what exactly she's dealing with or what kind of threat he poses, her hands balled up into fists. Her left shoulder is actually on fire, but she hasn't noticed yet, the flames eating through her sweatshirt a bit.
Jughead Jones Jughead Jones is completely caught off-guard. Jughead cries out and shields himself with his arms as debris rains down and pelts him and his laptop. Once the debris has stopped falling he winces and quickly checks and closes his laptop. He then springs to his feet. He avoids the man who fell through, instead running -around- him to begin checking on the normal Riverdale residents. "Are you okay?," he asks Pops, helping him up from behind the counter. The man is fine, thankfully...except for the damage he absolutely -cannot- afford to fix.
Kaelyn Kae holds up a hand, as her eyes suddenly glow bright, the green casting a light on the whole place as swirling runes appear above the mage's hands... The Debris simply stops falling and bounce harmlessly off things like a slow-motion balloon bounce... Kae then motions upward with a thumb. There's an odd ripple around the place as she whispers and the debris immediately begins racing upward, harmlessly bouncing off people as it rearranges its self back into the busted celing and skylight... Soon enough it's all sealed, and Kae slooowly turns her head toward Mon-El at this point, giving one of those rare 'cheerful' smiles that might send a shiver up someone's neck with all the 'killing' intent behind it... "C'mere..." she says simply wiggling a finger toward the Daxamite, she even puts magic behind it and well tries to use it to simply lift Mon-El up and bring him over to the woman. If it wasn't apparent before, that Kae was a mage, now it might be quite apparent... When Mon'El is closer Kae asks simply, and yes, the debris is still turning back into the roof and ceiling it was before the Daxamite fell in.. "Soo, you do know it costs pysical energy to cast magic and repair all this right?" she asks curiously, regardless of whether or not he is levitated to her or not, she's still gonna ask it...
Mon-El     Once all the dust has kind of settled--although the fire still hasn't yet been dealt with--it becomes clearer that the thing that had fallen through the roof was indeed a young man. He looks to be no more than 19 or 20. He's wearing a red and indigo-colored uniform with a black cape, as well as shreds of what probably used to be street clothes worn over the tight-fitting outfit sort of hanging off of him here and there. Despite the destruction all around him though, the remains of that clothing appears to be the only thing on him that has actually taken any serious damage.

Kae does manage to pick him up and levitate him over to her, though he doesn't reply to her question due to being unconscious for the moment. He starts to come to just as she is finishing her sentence, but as soon as he opens his eyes the lasers let fly at the mage since she happened to be in front of him.
Brooke Harris Brooke just sort of watches all the crazy craziness going on and blinks, standing there facing all this in a front stance heavy on her feet. Then she stops and looks over at the wizard.

Oh <bleep>, she has the... MOMMY voice... Somebody is DOOMED.
...not HER of course. Thank goodness.

She backs away from the scary person half a step, then looks over at the others in the room. "Is everybody okay?"

..Of course, then freaking /lasers/ go off, because of course the guy can't be satisfied with just wrecking the place, and she just sort of reflexively twists to back-hand the guy with a chop to the back of the neck.
Diamond Lil Diamond Lil watches Kae's magick as it unfolds, seemingly unspooling the sudden carnage and trying to put things aright. She's ready to react defensively, angered at the sudden attack and the casual indifference to life.

She sees that Mon-El might be unconscious, though, and realizes it might not be the new arrival's fault. "You know this guy?" she says to Kae, leaving the question of magic in the back of her mind for later. Starling was swarming with superhumans, obviously, she herself being evidence of that. She puts aside her anger and goes to check on Mon-El and just in time as the lasers let fly. Lil interposes herself quickly, using her body as a shield. The eyebeams burn a hole through her clothes and then sizzling against her belly - to no visible effect or discomfort.
Jughead Jones Jughead Jones is busy making sure Pops is okay. Thankfully, he is. He adjusts his beanie and steps around the counter to face-off with the others. "What the hell is going on?," he asks, with as much toughness as the slender kid can muster. He furrows his brow and brushes his hands off on his jacket, glancing at Mon-el, and then at the others warily.
Kaelyn As Diamond gets in between her and Mon-El Kae peeks around and frowns "Ooh lovely... You really need to stay away from whoever it is that keeps on hitting you with spells.." She mutters and yet again her eyes glow as she begins systematicly dismantling the spells on Mon-El... It's one thing artificers are particularly good at, enchantment, either placing or removing spells on people and objects. She also raises Mon-El slightly and reinforces the spell holding him in place as she counter-magics the various enchantments on the Daxamite... "As far as what's going on?" She tells Jughead... "Simply put, we have, I think a Daxamite.. Kind of like a Kryptonian, just not as ummm overpowering as one... He's been enchanted out the wazoo..." She states...

The redhead even goes as far as holding up what looks like a crystal ball, where she got it is anyone's guess it just kinda appeared there... The ball appears to be slowly filling up with whatever it is Kae's pulling out of Mon-el... well she's dismantling the spells and all, but storing the power behind the spells on Mon-el inside a handy recepticle... "Anyhow, if he starts fighting back heavily against this if anyone can help keep him still, or keep him from trying to burn a hole in me that'd be good." she says...

Meanwhile, in the background, the little dragon known as Fanhuil has finished his bowl of milkshake, and has started sucking down Kae's large one... His belly is getting a little bloated...
Mon-El     Not as overpowering? Kae has somewhat underestimated Daxamites then, because as she is trying to hold him there, he does fight hard against it. Lil's diamond body does serve well as a shield for the mage, though.

Brooke's punch...well, let's just say that she is more likely to break her own hand by doing that than actually causing any damage to the Daxamite. However, it's not enough to get his attention either, fortunately for her.

As Kae continues to work on dismantling the spell--this one proves to be a lot more of a challenge than the last one. In fact, it seems to take on a life of its own even--desperately trying to re-establish itself faster than she can tear it apart. If she focuses hard enough, she should be able to get it, but it will take some work!

Meanwhile, Lar attempts to punch Lil out of the way, letting loose with a swing enough to send a normal human flying across the room and outside through the far wall where they still probably wouldn't come to a stop for a good several feet.
Diamond Lil Diamond Lil takes the blow from Mon-El hard across the face, her head snapping to the side. She didn't quite feel it, even though it would have obliterated a normal person. The sheer force is enough to knock her down to one knee and drive her feet through the floor. She may not have had his strength or speed or any of his offensive capabilities, but she could, at the least, take as much punishment as he could dish out.

"I don't know if I can contain him, but I can at least keep his attention on me, hopefully. He can't me. Still - faster is better," she says. Without many other options, she just smacks Mon-El across the face, not expecting to do any damage since her strength isn't much more than mortal. Still, it's like getting bitchslapped with a sledgehammer and will, at the very least, get his attention.
Brooke Harris Brooke glares and slips backward a bit. "...What, you expect random people at a restaurant to be able to wrestle Superman?" Some exasperation.

Then he proves her point by trying to blow a Lil-sized hole in the wall. She pauses then backs to protect Jughead. "Are you okay there?"
Kaelyn Kae peers "I would go faster, cept whoever did this sunk their claws a little deeper...." She then tilts her head and well, she litterally lets her aura spread this time, no longer trying to hide it as she litterally just tries to magically muscle her way through the other's spell, throwing as much power as she can muster behind it. This really has the alternate affect of well filling the room with well magic, her aura showing visibly as runes and various mystic symbols seem to float around the sorceress... "Well I was kinda hoping for a little bit of help and all, I'm using magic to try and at least partially hold em... But I either have to cast more magic and multitask this thing, which means using enchanted items... Which by the way I didn't come prepared with... Or I can throw everything behind pulling this foreign magic out of em... Then again, I could just blast the hell out of em, and hope to knock em out before pulling the spells out..." she says and sighs, still working on just breaking down the spells inside Mon-el, but now at a rediculous pace, as she attacks every bit of the spell at once it seems...
Mon-El     Seeing that the attack had caused Lil to stagger a bit but not lose her ground, Lar just attempts to grab her by the neck and hold her in the air, aiming to crush her windpipe as hard as he can in a shot at suffocating her. It's a good thing this proves a lot harder than it would have been if she'd been a normal human--in fact this would have killed her pretty fast if that had been the case. Instead, it's a lot slower of a process, her diamond body pushing back hard against him and proving to be a challenge to actually push against.

Meanwhile, even though Kae repaired the initial damage, there are still fires around the restaurant that are spreading quickly. Employees are doing what they can to get people evacuated, but some may have gotten into a tight spot.

But finally after several minutes of straining, his grip loosens as Kae's efforts begin to pay off. The spell suddenly seems to come to a breaking point of sorts and starts to unravel rather quickly, its energy emptying into the crystal ball she's using. Once the process is finished, he drops Lil to the floor and backs away, staring at his surroundings with a terrified expression on his face.
Diamond Lil Diamond Lil can't do much about Mon-El's actions - invulnerable she may be, but he's far stronger and swifter than she could ever think about being. She finds herself hefted up, his hand around her throat, and is thankful for the resistance of her diamandic flesh, keeping him from fully closing her windpipe. She's gurgling pretty good, though, working hard to suck in air.

She puts a hand to her throat, massaging where he'd squeezed when she's finally dropped. "Well. Looks like the lights are on again," she mutters, pushing back up to her feet.
Brooke Harris Brooke looks seriously alarmed, having helped to chase people out the door safely. "What in the heck was THAT all about? Does this kind of thing happen a lot to you? Is everybody okay?
Kaelyn Kae frowns as the spell finaly ends then drop sher little levitation thing on Mon-El "Help put out fires, I'll repair the damage." she states, now holding up the crystal ball with this lady's magical energies in it... "Imma send this sorceress a bit of a message when we're done here..." She states simply... "Might even talk to the Sorcerer Supreme into helping me with this one." She mutters and she waves a hand, making one of the fires dissapear... Another one kind of freezes in place, becoming litterally a fire ice statue... She then sighs and looks to the others "Help me put out fires, then I'll restore this place, and we can go back to.." she then notices Fanhuil, he has a masively swolen belly, being a cat-sized dragon having just ate litterally nigh 40 ounces of ice cream... Kae just stares at him... "Oooooh, yah, I'm so not looking forward to putting up with that sugar high." she says, facefaulting...
Mon-El     Lar quickly scans Lil, Kaelyn, Brooke and whoever else may be in here to make sure no one's dead or close to it. Thankfully, most of everyone else had been evacuated quickly. Oh, the fires...right. He draws in a pretty good breath and then blows hard, turning toward every blaze that is still raging and they are instantly snuffed out. Small icicles even appear in some places once he's done.

With everything finally having calmed down, the Daxamite just...flops down on the nearest seat that is still in one piece, rubbing his face. What would he even say to these people?!
Diamond Lil Diamond Lil inspects her clothes, finding the burned holes in her sweatshirt, both on the shoulder and the belly, sighing as she strips it off. She has a t-shirt underneath, equally ragged, but she leaves it, at least, to preserve a modicum of modesty. A Canadian maple leaf is stretched across her bosom on grey cotton.

"Can you find the magician responsible? And can you do something so they can't do it to him again?" she asks Kae, "The last thing the city needs his this guy getting re-enchanted and going on a rampage." she says. She goes over to her table and sighs as she sees her pie covered with dust from the ceiling tiles. "Dammit, I was looking forward to that pie."
Kaelyn Kae tilts her head and waves her hand over the pie, then sets about repairing the place... "I have a few things in mind, requires you." she looks at Mon-El now pointedly "To wear an enchanted amulet... Basically all that power from her spells she slapped on you, with an extra bit and stuff will be rebounded on her the very next time she tries to cast a spell, in fact what it will do is kind of make a virtual you inside the pendant.. She'll cast the spell, not thinking it's anything but, and then bam, that'll give the pendant the power to take what's in this orb, pluss her spell and make a magica backlash... That might help some... Definately buy you time, and well give her a really nasty slap across the face." Kae says with a slight grin.... "Best I can do short of engaging in a one on one duel... And I'm an Artificer, don't normally do duels...."
Mon-El     Lar looks up at Kaelyn when she addresses him directly, explaining the amulet. He sighs. "Thanks, but I don't think she will do that again. At least, not that particular trap. She tried to--well, for lack of a better word--use some kind of mind control spell on me to force me to fall in love with her. But it didn't really work and just--uh, I went berserk on her and she had to throw me back down planetside. Which is why I fell through the roof." he peers upward at the newly repaired roof momentarily.

His eyes widen at the prospect of a duel and he stands up, looking very seriously all of a sudden. "Kaelyn. No. Please don't...this sorceress...she's very powerful. There's no way you'd win against her alone. I--I'll take the amulet, but the Legion will deal with her. Okay? You've already done everything you can to help. I just don't want you to get dragged into this whole mess."
Diamond Lil Diamond Lil pulls a pack of cigarettes out of her jacket, left in the booth and lights one. She figures any complaints about law-breaking have probably been well-covered anyway and, after taking a few Daxamite shots to the face, she's probably earned a little break.

"She used magic to try and make you love her? Man, that's desperate. Does she not know about Tinder? Because you can get that on your phone," she says. "Er, not that I...do that."
