Mon-El     Tonight, the Legion has invited some friends to come aboard the cruiser for a short tour and just a friendly gathering in general. Socializing, games from the far-flung future, and pizza in the crew quarters are likely planned for the evening. Everyone who has been invited to attend was told to meet the Lar, Laurel, and Lyle at a shopping center in the suburbs of Metropolis, where slipgates would be used to open portals to the destination vessel in orbit.

So the three of them are currently waiting in the parking lot of the specified meeting place for any and all who had indicated plans to come hang out with them. It's a pretty frigid winter day, so not many people are out milling about--just a few cars are sitting on the lot. Not that the cold really bothers the Daxamites, though for Lyle it might be a different story.
Invisible Kid     The cold only annoys Lyle marginally -- his jacket looks light, but insulation based on 31st century science.  It doesn't cover his face, unfortunately, and there's an undignified reddening at his ears and the tip of his nose.  "Wrong night to be running late," he says with a completely unacceptable chattering of the teeth.  "If they're not here soon, I may request some heat vision pointed this way."
Super-Man Kenan found the invitation in his email and decided to check into it. He recalls Lar, not a bad fellow but needs to work on avoiding collateral damage. He is not sure what some of the other things mentioned in the invite are, but thinks it will become clear soon enough. He arrives at super speed, the side effects of that protect him from cold and heat. He switches to invulnerability and bows to Lar, "Greetings again."
Drake Winters Having tagged along on the superhero pizza adventure, Drake is currently all grins as he waits in the parking lot. Today he's not in his usual team jersey. He's wearing a normal black T-Shirt under a thick winter coat and a pair of destroyed jeans. "Hey guys." He calls over with a lift of his hand to those who are heading over. He tagged along with Lar earlier to meet the new faces, excited to finally get a chance to see a space ship.
Mon-El     "I'm not sure you actually want that, at least not from me." Lar comments to Lyle. He waves at the newcomers. "Drake, Kenan. Glad you could make it."

"Right, I think everyone's here. Let's go ahead and head up to the cruiser. Lyle, you ready with the slipgates?"
Invisible Kid     Lyle grins.  "Been ready.  Not all of us are invulnerable, y'know," he says, but teasingly.  Fortunately, the same thin insulate makes up his gloves, so operating his everpresent omnicom is not a problem.
A shimmering silver field opens up just behind him.  "Follow me!" he says cheerily, and without looking, steps backwards through it.  Seems he was /really/ sure about his slipgate aim.  Or took his mind off the cold by calculating them more precisely than necessary.
Super-Man Kenan shrugs and steps through the gate...it is not the first time he has passed through a gate to someplace he did not know. Of course, at least once it was the land of the dead on the other side. Hopefully this will be a bit less dangerous.
Drake Winters Watching the slipgate open, Drake widens his eyes, followed by a grin as he moves forward and into it. "This won't blow me up or anything, right? That would be a terrible way to go."
Mon-El     "That would be a question for Lyle." Lar says teasingly as he follows the others through the gate. Everything seems to go smoothly, as each person appears one by one on the other side, on the bridge of the Legion cruiser. Lyle, Kenan, Lar...wait. Where was Drake?

...as soon as Drake steps through the portal, there is a rush of blue light and he suddenly finds himself in a strange place that definitely does -not- look like a space ship. All he can see all around are what look like weird lavender-colored crystals towering up out of the ground, walls, and well, as far as he can see. On each facet are strange images--glimpses of a life that could have been, but never were! They are hazy at first, but soon become clear as day, as if he were living and feeling them. As if they were real.

    On the cruiser...
A klaxon sounds as the system informs its users that the slipgates have malfunctioned for some reason. But it couldn't be random, could it? Everyone else seemed to have made it safely through! A sense of panic is growing inside of Lar's mind. "Grife! Where's Drake?! I'll--I'll check the surface!" A flash and he is out the airlock, speeding back down to where they'd just been to see if Drake is still there...
Invisible Kid     Lyle's not grinning now.  He's all over the nearest console, pulling readings, ordering detailed scans, trying to wring every last piece of data out of the slipgate malfunction.  First: to track it and determine exactly what happened.  Second: to make sure it never happens again.
Without looking up, he asks, "Kenan: you should have felt nothing more than a mild tingle, if that, when you passed through.  Did it feel like anything more than that?  And did you notice anything odd?"  He looks up, and laughs once.  "Okay, anything odd /other/ than a hole in space.  I mean, did it significantly change shape or color or anything?"
Super-Man Kenan switches his power to Penetrating Vision, looking to see if he can locate the missing Drake. His powers does more than just look through physical things or penetrate distance, it sees what it really there, peetrating illusions and possibly things like invisibility and shape-changing as well (he has not ha a chance to test those yet).
Drake Winters As he steps through the portal, Drake looks around with wide eyes at the purple structures about him. "Woah. Dude. This is your space ship. This is so cool ... I was thinking you'd have monitors and a deck and a huge window or something .." He trails off for a moment as he looks around, noticing that he's the only one here. ".. Lar? Lyle? Um... King Kong?" What was his name again? "Where you guys go .."

As the images begin to flicker and radiate about him, he finds himself drawn to a couple, staring as his smile disappears slowly. He gives his head a shake, a look of confusion passing over his eyes for a moment before he goes back to staring, reaching out with a hand to touch the surface of one, feeling the reality of potential surge through him.
Super-Man Kenan states, "What is odd? I mean, all I saw was the silver gate that shimmered with purple light as we passed through it. I will attempt to see if I can locate the missing man."
Mon-El     It doesn't take long for Lyle to figure out that the slipgate didn't really 'malfunction'--it was sabotaged. Someone had tampered with the code for the destination and when it locked onto Drake it sent him somewhere else not the cruiser. In fact, it seems to have sent him outside of time and space...

Lar arrives back down at the parking lot where they'd originally opened the portal, using his vision as well to try to search for Drake. "Drake? DRAKE!!" he calls out. But--he's nowhere to be seen, and neither can Kenan locate him with his vision, either. << "Lyle..." >> Lar starts into his flight ring. << "I can't see Drake -anywhere-. That's -bad-. Did the slipgate send him somewhere else?" >> Which is an understatement, because if even a Daxamite can't see where he's gone, that means he's just...not in existence. At least not on the planet or anywhere within range of his senses. Which means he's -really- far away or not in this dimension or time. And speaking of purple shimmers, there's another one in front of Mon-El. His eyes widen as the powerful sorceress Glorith once again shows herself, a smug grin on her face. "Looking for your friend?"
<< "Guys...Lyle is Kenan still up there? I could use some help here." >>

Meanwhile, when Drake touches the strange crystal, the images become even more real to him. In fact, that happy couple consists of none other than his own parents...
Invisible Kid     "Kenan came through just fine, Mon-El," Lyle says, transitioning into 'mission mode' -- no more personal names.  "I'm trying to figure out what happened.  And how.  And if I can re-create it to... oh grife."  His expression doesn't change, other than his lips tightening.  "Tell me that woman's voice wasn't who I think it was."
Super-Man Kenan says to Lyle, "Can you send me back down? I can not help from here." He might, possibly, get enough solar charge to fly down by stepping outside, but he would need a space suit to breathe. He still has not mastered flight
Drake Winters As the memories flood into his head of a reality he has never had, Drake grows stiff for a moment as he stares at the crystal that he touches. An entire life passes through his eyes in a heartbeat. A great childhood. Parents who love and admire him. Soccer for a couple of years. Straight A's in school. A full ride scholarship to Stanford to study software engineering. He lets out a soft noise in his throat as he takes a step backwards once his hand is peeled away. He stumbles to the side and backs up into another crystal, feeling a flash across his eyes as more memories surge through him.
Kaelyn Wherever things are or whenever or whoever's around, well there's a brief ripple near folks. The ripple even developes neat floating ghostly blue runes shortly before well a tall redhead wearing a leather jacket, a backpack and carrying a broom in hand of all things simply appears there shortly before the runes go away... She pauses and glances around curiously, holding up a crystal ball... "Ummmm..." She says to nothing in particular, not really noticing those folks around as she looks into the crystal and swivels while looking through it as one might hold up scanning device or one of those tri-corders from star-trek
Mon-El     <<"Recreate it to -what-?">> Lar is sounding more and more frightened and desperate now. << "Lyle, is Drake even alive?! What the hell happened here?!" >>

He glares at Glorith, has been more than a pain in the neck lately. "-You!-" Immediately, he bolts toward her, the air popping with the sonic boom that occurs as he does. But Glorith merely laughs and holds up a hand, and he suddenly freezes mid-motion, paralyzed in the air like a statue.
"Oh, Lar! So stubborn! There's no -need- for any of this. Don't worry so hard, your friend is still very much alive! He's just stuck in my extra-dimensional construct. I can bring him back with a thought, all you have to do is take my hand!" She waltzes up to his immobile form and puts her hand on his. "Come on now, do it for him. He's just a poor little human after all! He doesn't deserve this!"
Mon-El strains against the spell, but for all his strength, he is powerless against magic. "Hrgnn....I won't...let you...do this..." Then Kaelyn appears and a bit of relief washes over him. "Kaelyn! Thank goodness--a little help here!" he shouts at her.

Every crystal Drake touches seems to reel him in like a fish on a lure, the energies surging through his body as he experiences life after life that never was. Alternate paths that led to joy, sorrow, tragedy or all of the above!
Invisible Kid     Lyle re-sets the slipgate, triple-checks several of the settings and tightens system security parameters.  "Okay.  Everything looks normal.  You should end up where Mon-El is, although you should be ready in case you appear wherever Drake went.  I still haven't figured out the exact nature of the breach."  That last sentence comes out with something of a growl.  "I'll be right behind you; I need to make sure we're safely locked up here.  Oh, before I forget--"  He tosses a small capsule to Drake.  "--just in case.  Transuit.  It'll automatically deploy in a hostile environment, vacuum, under water, poisonous atmosphere.  Sorry it's not tuned to your powers but it shouldn't interfere at least.  Hopefully you won't need it."
Super-Man Kenan steps through the portal again, hoping that this "transuit" works if required. He has is powers set to invulnerablilty, just in case, but he does have his limits.
Kaelyn Kae blinks and looks over to where Lar is, and GLorith and blinks slightly.. She then casualy starts to walk up to the duo, and baring walking, she hops on her broom, standing on it like one might stand on a skateboard as she flies over toward them.... "Hallo! Mind letting him go now?" She says, smiling cheerfully to Glorith, well kind of cheerfully, the smile is there, it doesn't quite reach her eyes yet. Though, those looking close might notice them glowing just slightly as she's looking into the arcane and allready working out how to start unraveling Glorith's spells...

"I realize, you might be a bit infatuated with em and all, but this isn't the way to go about earning anyone's trust, love or admiration. Less they're a bit on the masochistic side... I don't see that in him though. And you might also let go of his buddy too please." She asks, trying of course to be nice and politic.
Mon-El     Kenan is able to make it safely back to the parking lot where they'd originally met, arriving just in time to see Glorith with Lar trapped in her spell and Kaelyn trying to be nice.

The blonde sorceress' attention is drawn toward Kaelyn, sensing another magic user in her. "Ah, the artificer! I've heard of you. I thought you -might- show up. Yes, I felt it when you unraveled my work in Starling earlier. You're talented, but in no place to challenge -me-!" A vortex of purple energy appears, and out of it a swarm of giant insectoids resembling grasshoppers comes. They hiss angrily and charge at Kenan and Kaelyn, their claws and mandibles thrashing at flesh!

Aboard the cruiser, Lyle is able to use the instrumentation on the ship to detect an unusual magical energy signature in the space between time, something that wasn't there before! If he can program the slipgate to lock in that destination as it had before, he might be able to get Drake out of there!
Drake Winters As Drake finds himself drawn to the crystals to touch them, memories continue to unravel within his mind. They take place of ones previously written, re-written, then written again. He has an amazing life. He has a terrible life. He finds true love with the girl of his dreams. He loses her to his best friend who stabbed him in the back. Though there is one particular memory that finds the back of his heart and sticks like a thorn deep into the flesh. He stares at the crystal for a moment, then sinks down to his knees with a thump as he takes in a deep, choking breath as he reaches up to wipe at his cheek as moisture threatens to spill from his eyes.
Invisible Kid     Invisible Kid is just about to follow Kenan through when the monitor catches his attention.  "Oh.  *That's* interesting..." he says, and immediately starts changing the settings on the slipgate.
Down below, the gate winks out.  No sign of Mon-El's teammate.  Then again, that doesn't really mean anything, considering who it is.
Up above, Lyle flicks out of sight and then steps through the gate based on the new readings.  Let's see where this goes...
Super-Man Kenan is not particularly worried by these insects, he is invlnerable and protecting others. He keeps his power in his belly, he may be no stronger than normal, but normal strength behind iunvulnerable flesh and bone can beat down steel in time (he has proven it during training). He interposes himself between the insects and Kaelyn and states to the creatures, "The only with to her is THROUGH me, and frankly I doubt you can do it."
Kaelyn Kae blinks and notices the oncoming purple insect thingies... Her wards flare to life and she sets about unraveling oncoming spells, ie the bugs, the woman using another crystal in her hand to try and grab and store the expended mana from the magical constructs she's trying to tear apart as they come near her. "Well I might not be talented enough alone and all, however, I have help." She says simply.. She then motions to the sorceress's lower body ish area with a hand. "And yer showing just a bit, might wanna cover that back up..." A distractdion? who knows, but she does use this opportunity to try raise a rod and well fires a few bolts of arcane blue energy at the other magic-user... They may or may not do a whole lot, but they should prove nice and distracting.

Kae glances at Kenan and grins "Nice one..." She says and shifts her focus to tearing the spell holding Mon-el apart, while trying to drain away its mana and continue well to launch distracting bolts of energy at the other caster...She whispers to those around her, projecting her voice just to them as she does "I'm going to start unraveling her magic as best I can, help me to distract her. If you want, I have more rods of distruction in the outer pocket of my backpack, use them if you think it'll help...."
Mon-El     Once Lyle steps through the slipgate, he does indeed find himself inside of Glorith's construct. All around are those strange lavender crystals, only unlike Drake he does not see any of the images. He does spot the human, though, who appears to be floating in a cloud of eldtritch energies encased in one of the larger crystalline structures. But how to get to him...?

The bugs try to tear at Kenan, but only break themselves in the process of attempting to do so against his invulnerable flesh. And they can't even get close to Kaelyn, instead getting torn apart before they can even touch her. Glorith finds herself dodging the arcane energy while flinging bolts of her own at Kaelyn, but trying to maintain her hold on Lar, Drake's time prison, AND attacking Kaelyn and Kenan is proving to be too much! "Gah!" The binding spell on the Daxamite loosens, and he finally manges to break free. Grabbing one of the insectoids by the leg, he swings it and sends it straight into the evil sorceress. It hits her at the same time one of Kae's bolts does in a perfectly timed attack, sending her flying into a building. If anyone is going to take her down for the count, they'd better do it soon, before she gets back up again!

Meanwhile, as Drake falls to his knees in his own little world, a hand is felt on his shoulder. If he looks up, he sees the mother who left him long ago. But she is smiling, her eyes bright. "Drake...it's okay. Don't cry, I'm here." she says softly.
Super-Man Given a momentary reprieve, Kenan switched powers, moving his energies from his belly to his feet first, moving at super speed. He reaches the sorceress in an eyeblink and strikes her dozens of times. Each blow is no stronger than a human blow, but in numbers and coming from all directions, they can weaken and distract a foe.
Drake Winters There is another loud sniff from Drake as he feels the hand upon his shoulder. ".. Mom..? But .. " He looks up at her in confusion, staring back into the familiar brown eyes that they share together. A tear trickles down his cheek as he gives another loud snuff, then wipes at his cheek to brush the moisture away. "You left me with him .. " He says, his voice weak, strained as he pushes himself up. "You weren't there or my wedding." He says, then gives another pause as he glances to the side, followed by a hand running back through his hair. ".. Wait .. no... I'm not .." He glances down at his left hand in confusion.
Invisible Kid     Invisible Kid frowns, but invisibly.  Sprocking magic... not something reliably hackable.  He floats towards Drake, looking for any obvious connections between... well, damn it, anything and anything else!  Magic doesn't follow the laws of science, but it does follow *some* laws.
Kaelyn . o O (Time to be nasty), Kae thinks. She's good at warding, so she tries to slap a ward around Glorith, at least for now... Whether it wholly suppresses her magic or just puts a massive kink in things. Kae tries just that. Rapidly, she starts weaving an anti-magic ward around Glorith, trying to cut her off from the flow of the Arcane...

Even if Kenan is hitting the heck out of the sorceress, Kae frowns and tries to focus on just Glorith "Keep her distracted!" she calls out as she quickly, and efficently puts together her ward... Around the caster all manor of runes begin forming and floating around Kae, barely visible at the edge of vision...
Mon-El     Glorith starts to get back up, but in a flash Kenan is on top of her, punching her a thousand times at super speed. Grunting, she begins to cast another spell. A glow of purple starts around her body, and suddenly there's a bright flash as a burst of magical energy flares out from her body, striking anyone within a few feet of her but hitting hardest at melee range if Kenan does not manage to get out of the way as soon as he sees the initial glow. Immediately following, she starts to prepare another spell, but by then Kaelyn has arrived and begun cutting her off from the source of her power. She tries to counter it, but with her attention divded in so many different directions, she just can't. Her magic begins to fade rapidly. "No!" she shouts, trying in vain to send a fireball at Kaelyn, but it as the ward nears completion it barely scorches even if it hits.

Meanwhile, inside the construct, Lyle might notice that the energies inside of the crystal Drake is in are leaking out of a small crack in the side. He might not have super strength, but this dimension is also outside of normal space so who says any of the usual physical laws even apply? It's worth a shot. Maybe he can get Drake's attention...

Speaking of Drake, his mother puts a hand on his cheek. "I know. I'm sorry," she says softly. "But I'm here for you now. I love you, son. I always have. Look at you." her voice breaks. "Despite everything, you're still kind, compassionate...I'm so -proud- of you..."
Drake Winters "I'm just .. so confused .. I keep ... getting the feeling that you and dad are still together... but .. but you guys got a divorce... and.. I don't .. I don't get it .. everything feels messed up right now in my head. I got married." Drake says adamantly before he glances down at his left hand again, wiggling his fingers. ".. There's no ring though .. but I swear.. just the other day .. you should see her mom, she's so beautiful.." Pressing a hand to his head, he gives a visible wince. ".. I feel dizzy. My head is killing me."
Super-Man Kenan figures the glow is a spell, oe intended to get rid of him, so he does the unexpected, he shifts his power to Invulnerability and grabs the sorceress in a wrestling hold. His powers...he has been considering the possibly mystical nature of those powers. If his invulnerability is magic, it may well resist HER magic, something she would not expect of a brawler like him.
Invisible Kid     Ripping the crack open never even crossed Invisible Kid's mind.  Getting a probe out of his belt pack and sticking it in there, that's another matter entirely.  Readings first.  No messing with unknown magical energies without data.
Satisfied within reason nothing's going to explode and blast him into the universe next door, he gets a small pry bar out of his belt and raps twice on the side of the crystal, to see if Drake is awake and aware.
Then he jams the business end of the tool in the crack... and waits to see if Drake responds.
Kaelyn Kae is indeed hit, her own little wards flaring to life, but leaving the woman looking rather scorched... She peers at the other magic user curiously and frowns... "Something to be said for having friends." She says simply, and looks to Kenan... She then holds up runed manacles....
Mon-El     "Argghh!" Glorith tries to get Kenan off of her, but her physical strength is no match for his even without his super strength on. "You fools!" she shouts. "I'm the only one holding up the construct your friend is in, take me down and he WILL be destroyed with it!" She's running out of options, though, and she knows it. With Kaelyn's ward going up, she will be powerless soon. So she diverts all her concentration to one final spell--one that will take all remaining energy she has left in her body and expel it in a single, linear blast several meters in diameter and directed at her foes. But just as she is about to cut loose, Lar flies in front of her. The massive beam flies out of her body and strikes him dead center--sending him flying across the parking lot. Some of it might still get through to the others, but the Daxamite has taken the brunt of the damage. Unfortunately for the sorceress though, this took a greater toll than she'd expected. All energy spent, she collapses unconscious to the ground.

Inside the construct, Lyle's tools don't really give him any indication that anything will explode. When he jams the tool into the crack, the crystals do indeed shatter--in fact, more so than he might have expected. The entire structure actually falls to pieces. But now the whole place is shaking violently, bits of crystal are beginning to fall from the ceiling as the walls begin to cave in. The spell has been broken, which means that the prison created by Glorith has begun to cease existing.

Drake's mother frowns, her eyes filled with concern. "We need to get you to a doctor...." But even as she's speaking, she fades from view and reality starts to set in. He's not with his family but still inside that strange crystalline world. Which is now starting to collapse in on itself. And Lyle is standing there.
Drake Winters "... Mom?" Drake calls out in confusion as he reaches out for her fading image. "Don't... please... don't go! Mom! No! Pl..." As the crystals shatter around him, he falls to the ground in a heap, his fingers scrambling for purchase as he lurches upwards. "MOM! Please don't leave me again! PLEASE! I'll be good! Don't leave me with him again!" His voice has taken on a tone of pure fear and emotion as his entire body trembles. He whips his head about violently in search, instead finding Lyle before him. Hyperventilating now, his voice comes out in a tight, panic attacked squeak. ".. H.. hurts... Wh..."
Super-Man Kenan is thrown back by the spell, essentially unharmed, but hit by enough of the energy to send him halfway through the nearest wall. He shakes his head as he starts pulling himself clear, "That was foolish Lar, you are vulnerable to magic, evidently I am not."
Invisible Kid     "C'mon, let's get you out of here," Lyle says, getting one arm around Drake and pushing his flight ring hard, back to the spot where he'd targeted the slipgate.  Even in flight, he's keying the omnicom to trigger the gate to open.
"Sorry, didn't expect that crystal to just come apart like that," he explains /en route/ to their escape.  "I... don't know what you were seeing in there, but it's likely it was just an illusion.  Whether it was meant to damage you psychologically or just keep you distracted... well, I don't know that either.  We'll give you a good once-over in Medical once we're back on the cruiser."
Assuming the gate works, and/or that Herself doesn't show up all angry about busting up her crystal cave.  Lyle mentally shoves that idea aside and pushes his flight ring even harder to get them out of there.
Kaelyn Kae blinks and holds her hands up,the wards built into her jewelry flaring to life brilliantly as the blast rolls across it... She frowns at Glorith and stares for a moment. "Location of Drake then?" She says simply, or does someone have anything that belongs to him?" She asks curiously, looking aroun dbefore staring at Glorith, then she looks back to the others.... "Am assuming they probably have another person working on extracting the one you took.." Kae says and then kneels down, now looking at Glorith curiously "Whyfore do you keep on trying to make him want to be with you? Don'tcha know, forcing the issue, expecially with magic won't work?"
Mon-El     The crystalline construct starts falling to pieces -fast-. It's a good thing Lyle has his trusty flight ring to use to book it to the slipgate's target location with Drake in tow as the ceiling falls and the walls cave in right behind them. There are definitely a few times when they are almost hit by falling crystal debris or nearly ran into an obstacle that lands in front of them. Just as the gate opens and they pass through, the pocket dimension explodes...they can feel the heat energy on their backs and feet even as they pass through the portal and back to the safety of Earth.

They arrive on the scene of a very wrecked parking lot and shopping center. Lar is unconscious and unable to answer Kenan--he doesn't look to be in good shape at all. Glorith stares up at Kae with what little strength she has left...but her eyes are not angry...she actually looks sad. "B-because...I-I love him.." she whispers, before passing out completely.
Drake Winters The young champion gamer is a lump against Lyle as he is carried out of the crystaline prison, though he may feel him start to tremble at times, followed by a few jolts of his body. The explosion causes him to glance upwards with his eyes wide, glancing over his shoulder to see the flames and purple mist combust. There is a flash of gold in his eyes moments before they break through and back into the parking lot. He stumbles to his feet once he finds the ground, crumbling down to his knees as he wraps his arms about himself. His entire body is vibrating now, his voice ripping out of his throat in a loud, pained scream. The kind of scream that is ripped right out of the gut. His nose is bleeding now, his voice coming out in a rattle. ".. H.. Help.. "
Super-Man Kenan probably looks worse off than he actually is, his SHIELD unifom is not built to take punishment the way his containment suit is. It is ripped and torn, with plaster and paint flakes from the wall he hit all over. He pulls free and shakes his head, "Even I know you can not force someone to love you, you can only strive to be worthy of the love you seek and hope the person will realize what kind of person you are." He switches his energy to his thighs, acxtivating his penetrating vision, to see if he can figure our how to help the injurred. He wishes he was better at first aid.
Invisible Kid     "Oh, grife!" is Invisible Kid's carefully considered analysis of the situation when they appear.  He darts over to his teammate and scans him -- omnicoms are doggone useful! -- and doesn't like what he sees.
While sending commands up to the ship to get the automated systems going in Medical and prepping slipgates for the transit up, he says to those still standing, "Can I ask your assistance getting Drake and Mon-El to our cruiser?  And then I promise coffee.  Really."
Drake Winters It appears that Drake's body is having violent twitches, and they are speeding up faster and faster, which only causes the wailing moans to grow louder. Then, there is a hard jolt of his body and he is no longer in the spot he was sitting at, but now a few feet, away, then there is another blur as he jolts forward again. He lets out another pained scream as he collapses back on to his knees, vibrating in place.
Kaelyn Kae frowns and looks at Glorith... "I'm thinking of turning her over to the magical community at large.. They can work with her... Maybe consul her..." She suggests and after a moment of looking into a ball, she smiles and sets said ball onto Glorith... The ball glows then tries to teleport Glorith away, probably to whatever council in charge of magickdom...

She glances at the Twitchy Drake, and then reaches into her pocket and pulls a handful of healing potions out.. She looks to the others "Give these to those injured, physically or mentally it'll start the healing process and make sure any internal injuries handled... "She says and tilts her head curiously as she begins well to administer half the potions to individuals around, leaving others to do the other half...
Mon-El     The glow extends from the sphere onto Glorith's motionless form, and she disappears, teleporting away to wherever Kaelyn had in mind. Probably a good idea, to let the magical community deal with her, given she is one of their own. At any rate, it's unlikely she'll be coming back to trouble the Legion again for a while.

Lar finally comes to, groaning in pain he sits up as far as he can, but his eyes widen quickly. "Grife...Drake....where's Drake?!" are the first words out of his mouth. "What happened?!"
Invisible Kid     Lyle reaches through a slipgate and pulls two gravstretchers through; Mon-El's unexpected voice arrests his attention, and he says over his shoulder, "Lay back down!"  It sounds almost like an order.  "Drake's here, and you're both getting at least a couple days in Medical."
He watches Drake twitch and... teleport?  Gate?  Something.
First things first -- Lar is less likely to give him trouble getting on a stretcher.  "C'mon, old friend," he says, laying it down alongside the Daxamite.  "If you're that keen to move, move onto this."
Drake Winters "Makeitstop! Makeitstop! Makeitstop!" Drake can be heard as he jolts again another few feet to the side in a blur. His face is a mess of blood from his nose, as well as his shirt which is splotchy on the dark fabric. He claws at his head with a loud whimper, grinding his teeth. ".. Wh.. where's Laurel .." He is heard between chattering teeth. ".. Where's my wife?"
Mon-El     Lar seems visibly relieved when he does see that Drake is here and alive. He gets onto the stretcher obediently, because well--when Lyle lays down the law, he can get pretty serious. And he's technically in charge at the moment, so Lar doesn't argue.

But his consternation returns when he sees the -condition- Drake is in... His -wife-? Oh -no-. "...w-we--we can fix this, right? Please tell me we can fix this..." he begs weakly, staring up at Lyle and Kaelyn. "Damn it...someone just knock him out already..."
Kaelyn Kae frowns and moves over near Drake, trying to lay a hand on the boy and well, she tries to get a potion down him... Hoping that said potion will at least put him in a state of peace. She also focusses on him and starts to look to see if magic is still affecting him and what she might possibly be able to undo.....

"Umm this was caused I think by magic means, we might need to take him to my people too... They'll have a specialist to undo this damage."
Invisible Kid     "Lar?" Lyle says gently but firmly, "sleep.  Right now is not the moment to think about it."  Once his teammate is on the stretcher, he activates the antigrav -- flight ring technology works in more than just rings! -- and floats him towards the slipgate; on the other side, automated systems will guide his stretcher to an available bed.
Drake... is another matter entirely.  "I can grab a hypo from Medical and put him out, if we need to," he says to Kaelyn.  "Do you have any idea what's wrong with him?"
Drake Winters The young man's body seems to be phasing in and out in a staticy twitch. Here and there. He makes a loud retching noise in his throat, sweat pouring down his face as he gasps out in a loud croak. "Where's Laurel?" He calls out again to Lar as his wild eyes stare at him. "P... please.. I don't want to die.. not before.. she gotta know ..." When Kaelyn comes over to him to administer her medicine, he looks at her with confusion in his eyes, as if he doesn't recognize her. When she puts her hand on his shoulder, she can feel the sweat beneath his shirt, his entire body vibrating furiously. There's ripples beneath the surface of his skin.
Mon-El     "N-no...this is my fault, don't burden h-her...with this...we'll deal with it...we'll fix it..." Lar stammers before the stretcher disappears into the slipgate and takes him up to the cruiser's infirmary. Kaelyn can tell that while the effects Drake is experiencing were caused by magic, they are not magical by nature themselves. It is simply that his body's molecular structure has become unstable as a result of whatever happened in that pocket dimension.
Kaelyn Kae tilts her head "Damage was caused by magic, but what's left is residual, not actively being caused.... Again, I know some in the magicking community who can help. If you want I can tell you where they are and send you a message. They're over in southern China...." She states and looks frm person to person.
Invisible Kid     Lyle can't help but chuckle.  Good old Lar, probably the most responsible Legionnaire there is.  But now is the time for him to rest and recover.
"Lar, I said sleep," he says with friendly admonition as he pokes through the gate to get a knockout hypo for Drake.  "You can worry about it after you've recovered a little, I promise."
Popping back out, he nods at Kaelyn's information.  "Yes, please and thank you.  We don't have any magic specialists with us, so we can use the expertise.  Though I think we're going to start with some plain old medical attention.  Yo're welcome to come up with us."  He waits for a relatively calm moment before approaching Drake with the hypo.  "Never a dull moment, is there?" he says, apparently to the universe at large.
