Rikki School is back in session and things have been a little hectic. While Rikki has had time to get to know the school over Christmas Break, she may have been a little late doing that... Typical Speedster. Still she's fairing well. She's attended all her morning classes and her speed is definitely a boon as she can actually leave books at her dorm room and only take the one she needs for the class.

Thankfully though, Rikki has a free period right now. Would be a Study hall if she showed up for that. She'll probably get talked to later for that one. Currently she is relaxing in the Foyer.

Her mind is racing. Racing far faster then a normal persons in any case. Thankfully though she can keep up with it. She's going over her little... boo boo from last night. "I guess I just need to get good." She laughs.
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell is rooting around in the kitchen, opening cabinets and drawers, looking for something that catches her attention. Cold air leaks out of the room, filtering out into the hall as Rikki passes. The frosty woman finally grabs a tupperware container of leftover meatloaf, shrugs, and starts stabbing at it with a fork.
Rikki Something clicks. She seen someone familiar while she was on her way out here. The young speedster jumps up and darts into the cafeteria. Yup! Familiar person!!! "Oh Hey Maya. Hows it going? Finding everything okay." She walks over into the kitchen and starts prepping some food. Yup turned out she knows her way round the kitchen.

"Would you like any? I'm feeling a little Cajun for lunch. Thinking I'm going to make a mountain of Red Beans and Rice." Already the rice is being cooked and the red beans as well as some celery, onion and peppers... not to mention garlic and hot sauce all together to make an amazing smell.
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell yelps and jumps as Rikki calls out to her, nearly dropping her meatloaf in the process. She takes a few deep breaths, a hand on her chest, before speaking. "Y-You startled me!" A sigh escapes her lips. "I'm...I'm fine, I've got this. I-I can't eat anything hot anyway, so...cooking's kind of wasted on me." She stares back into her platic bowl sheepishly.
Rikki Rikki snickers, "Its okay I hear you. I can't not eat. My metabolism is so high that if I skip a meal my stomach will be growling." She stirs her food, Then makes herself a sandwich that would make Dagwood happy. Its piled high.

Happily she moves over to join Maya while her food cooks. She has her sandwich and a hot drink, hot cocoa it appears. Setting them down she blurs out of sight and back with a cold bottle. She slides it over. An ice frapiccino. "Here you go." She starts eating.

"So how are you liking it here? Fun don't ya think?"
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell draws back cautiously as Rikki zooms off, then again as she returns. "Uh...N-No, no, I understand. I just...I-I'm kind of the opposite, actually. Just one meal a day, maybe every other day is...usually fine for me." She eyes the frappucino, then, "Er, coffee, right? A lot of caffeine like this is...I-It just feels weird. I've already got a slower heartbeat from m-my, er...my powers, so coffee just makes me...uncomfortable. S-Sorry..." She winces.
Rikki Rikki smiles and takes away the drink. "Lucky!!!" She looks a little sad. "I wish I could get by on one meal a day. If I tried that I would look anorexic... well More anorexic then I do now and would probably drop dead or something. We do have that in common though. I drink hot chocolate because anything super caffinated is a little too much. I already bounce off the walls. I don't wanna bounce through them."

She smiles. "So what are your powers? I'm just curious, You don't have to tell me." The speedster comments. She's definitely moving through topics quick. Definitely a speedster as it is. "Do your powers freak you out? Mine do sometimes."
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell slouches her shoulders at being called lucky. The frozen girl's already pretty skinny, only highlighted by what were once supposed to be skinny jeans, and have since just become regular jeans, as well as her height, just a few inches shy of six feet flat. "I...I-I kind of wish I could eat -more- at times. It makes it really hard to, uh...bulk up." She shakes her head to change her train of thought, and speaks a little more confidently. "Uh, water manipulation, but...ah, i-in doing so, it slowly freezes in my hands. I can't control, like, completely solid ice, but I-I can make my own ice, if I have enough water." She shrugs and takes another bite of her cold meatloaf.
Rikki Rikki smiles, "That is so cool though! And you are pretty! Don't worry!" She shutters, "I couldn't imagine being cold all the time." She digs into her massive sandwich. Its a real challenge for her. Not the amount of food but just the awkward size of the sandwich! "My parents died the day I got my powers. I didn't kill them. But the accident that caused me to be so different just... Ugh." She shakes it off and chugs some cocoa. "When I run, lightning forms around me. It scares me a lot because that is sorta what killed them and changed me
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell chews on her lower lip for a second. "O-Oh...I'm, uh...I'm s-sorry to hear that." Maya suddenly goes silent. She stares down at her half-eaten meatloaf, her brain focusing on something else for the moment.
Rikki Rikki smiles, "Its okay. It freaks me out but, it doesn't hurt me. So as long as I don't let it get to me, I'm okay. Also things can get damaged when I let myself go too fast. I broke the sound barrier and sorta blew out windows here a few times. So I have to be careful. What about you? Anything crazy for you?" She aks as she managed to finish her sandwich.

She vanishes again, racing over to the kitchen to stirr the actual meal. She returns with a cup of chocolate milk which she offers to Maya. "This any better?"
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell looks back up to Rikke as she returns. She slowly takes the chocolate milk, but only half-aware of it at the moment. "I-I, uh..." She gulps. Her voice sounds hoarse suddenly. "I...I-I killed m-my father with m-my powers...uh, about...three years ago."
Rikki Rikki Frowns. She is quickly sitting right beside Maya and giving her a hug. "I am so sorry. It wasn't your fault." She hangs her head wishing she could help her. "If you need to talk and don't wanna talk with the adults I'm an open ear?" She frowns shaking her head.
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell shakes her head. "No, i-it...It wasn't an accident." She turns around and sets her meal on the counter, before leaning against it on her elbows. "H-He used to, uh, trap me i-in this...big walk-in freezer he had, if I...uh, w-wasn't being good. One day, th-the cold just...seemed to bother me less, and I...uh, started playing with the moisture in the air. When he opened the door, I-I just--" She sighs and shakes her head again. "Mom doesn't even know, I-I just...ran away that day. Haven't been back."
Rikki Rikki frowns, "Maya, I will never blame you for that. Your father... That is the definition of a scumbag. In my opinion he got what he deserved. If anyone ever asks, it was an accident though." She winks. "Sadly, my parents deaths were fully out of my control. Lightning struck... they got electrocuted and I became crazy fast."
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell takes a deep, shaky breath, then lets it out in a frigid cloud. "Right, right...Ah, s-sorry about...what happened to you. I shouldn't have--I mean, you were talking a-and..." Her dark hair sways about as she shakes her head. "I'm, uhm...sorry th-that happened to you. I don't think any kind of powers would be worth that."
Rikki Rikki frowns and nods, "Yeah Its not something I asked for. I miss them so much." She sighs. "I lost them 6 months ago. I was put into a coma. Apparently shocked the doctors that I healedfrom serious burns at a record pace."
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell nods slightly. "Y-Yeah...Well, at least you're alright, huh?" She manages a faint smile, but it's gone quickly. "I've just...tried to do the best I can with my powers since, really. Not much else I can do. No use crying over spilled milk, right?"
Rikki Rikki smirks, "Thats all we can do. Plus that is the perk of this place. they help you to learn. Plus I think there is a guy here who manipulates ice. One of the teachers I think. Haven't met them or anything." She shrugs. "I know there is another speedster here like me. I hope I can meet them soon."
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell nods. "Yeah, I heard from Xavier. Someone called, uh...Bruce, or Brown, or something? I-I don't know. But yeah, uh, s-something like that." She clears her throat, then picks up her chocolate milk and takes a drink. "Mmh...Thanks for the, uh...the milk. Rikki, right?"
Rikki Rikki smiles, "Yeah. The professor is really cool. So is Jean. JUst mind your thoughts. She can read minds." She blushes, "I may have sorta tired to steal her purse." She nods, "Yes Rikki. I don't have any awesome names or anything. Just Rikki Riley."
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell winces and lowers her head. "I...I-I don't like people that can, uh...m-mess with my mind..." She rubs at her arm briefly, then, "Is it at least, er...o-obvious when she's...doing that?"
Rikki Rikki shrugs, "When she spoke to my mind it was clear. I'm pretty sure that easy with me though. My mind moves faster then I do." She shutters."Telepaths though. Whatcha gonna do?"
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell shuffles awkwardly. "That, er, Quentin guy from yesterday. He saw I was nervous, and said he could...'fix' it. Things like that, I just..." She huffs. "I-I dunno, I'm just not...comfortable with that. How could I know if he didn't do something to me already?"
Rikki Rikki frowns, "I have no idea. He also said he could download the knowledge of being a speedster from another speedster's head to mine! I think that is kinda wrong. There is something good about learning things on your own right? Besides, if I took the easy way, I wouldn't have destroyed a Ferrari last night!" She smirks.
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell sighs and slouches. "I guess. I-I mean, I just find myself second-guessing everything I know around, uh, p-people like that. It's just...weird." She frowns a bit, then, "Though he did, uh, offer to...come up with a design for a suit that, er, keeps in cold. It'd keep me comfortable in the heat, and...I-I wouldn't turn every room I'm in into a refridgerator." She eyes up Rikki. "Which reminds me, uh, i-it's not too cold, is it?"
Rikki Rikki shakes her head. "I'm fine. If I need to warm up I can add more clothing." Never mind the fact that she's shaking. Speaking of, She even shakes at fast speeds... Fast enough to give a slightly blurry appearance. "Anyhoo. If you need more clothing, the school has some stuff. It could help."
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell sighs, then shrugs. "I mean...I-I guess." She looks down at herself. "But I'm...er, kind of tall and skinny, s-so...most clothes off the rack are either too short, or too baggy." She lifts her gaze to Rikki. "Are...the clothes here free, at least, or...?"
Rikki Rikki smiles, "Yes. I think so anyway I use some of them myself. I was wearing a sweatsuit last night." She smiles." She takes off again. A moment later she is back with a small mountain of red beans and rice. She's also wearing a jacket and not shaking anymore. "Better I think."
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell lets another breath out of her nose and slouches. "I just...n-need to find something that fits, I guess..." She purses her lips in thought, then, "Well, I-I guess I could just find a big thick jacket for now..."
Rikki Rikki smiles, "I think I seen a few of those. Apparently some people here get really cold. If not I will run to the store. Need to practice running on ice anyway." She giggles. "Hey! That would give us both practice right? Wanna freeze over the track out back?"
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell sighs again and shakes her head. "Er, n-not right now. I'd...like to get a little more acclimated first." She pops the last bite of meatloaf into her mouth, before taking the dishes to the sink. "Have you ever tried, like...skating over ice when moving that fast?"
Rikki Rikki shakes her head, "I barely used my abilities before I came here. Plus I Dunno how to ice skate. It could be fun to learn though. It would bring new definition to speed skating though right?" She laughs as she gets into the Red Beans. "Hey I threw some of this stuff into into fridge for you in case you wanna try it later. It has some hot sauce in it but its not very spicy. Its yummy though! Its one of those meals that are really comforting."
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell tilts her head. "Huh? Well, spicy food is okay, it's just...uh, hot food that I can't eat. Temperature-wise." She briefly glances to the fridge, before nodding back to Rikke. "But, uh...thanks. I...should probably clear out of here. Let it start warming up. M-Maybe I'll ask someone with fire powers."
Rikki Rikki hmms, "I could try running around in here but... I think that would more make a tornado and I don't think we want that." She laughs. "Yeah. if you need anything just give me a shout. I'd be happy to help."
Maya Caldwell Maya Caldwell smiles weakly, then nods. "Uh, right. And...thanks for helping me out with...getting used to this place." She offers a wave to Rikki before stepping out into the hall.
