Caim     The sound of blows can be heard as a gang seems to have a person and in the process of beating someone down. Only as people come to see, the gang is having trouble dealing with one man with a cane. The way he moves indicates martial arts but to the trained eye, one would recognize it as a form of early greek combat, modified to deal with multiple people at the same time. The gang tries to out number the man but he holds his own against them and beat some of the punks down with his cane. One pulls a knife and tries to stab at the man, the street lights illuminating the fight from the night air.
Jubilee In the darkness of an alleyway not far from the stir, a petite figure sits silently, practically invisible in a black jacket and cargo pants, combat boots, and gloves. Her ebony hair is pulled up in an array held in place by crisscrossed chopsticks, and a pair of turn of the century brass goggles, fitted with welding glass.

There in the darkness, Jubilation Lee sits silently. Her form is somewhat more frail than normal. Her cheeks gaunt. Her skin is pale. It's been two months since she was abandoned. She has been starving for the better part of that time. Reluctantly, she has come to the realization that it is time to give up and face facts. The thudding sounds of the fight come in waves that echo down the alley. Still, she awaits a lone figure, one easily taken and unlikely to be missed. That is, until the scent of blood hits her brain like the smell of bacon to a stoner the morning after a Phish concert.
Ares Ares was in his human alias of John Aaron, and he was just walking through the city, hands in his pockets as he waers a black long trench coat with a black shirt, pants, and combat boots underneath it all. he looks like he has no weapons...because when you are War itself, you dont really need any.

Then of course, he hears the combat coming from down the way and the God approaches subtly, feeding off of combat on a worldwide scale...but this was so close he could taste it. He simply watches then, critically analyzing Caim as he fights.
Caim     Caim already had beaten down three of them unconscious and he fights even harder. The fact there are others nearby only garners a glance or two. He looks to the four left and smirks. "I suggest retreating." He says with a smirk as he approaches. Caim moves at human speed, although at the peak of human potential. He uses his cane as a sword, twisting and pulling to reveal it was a sword. One hand spins the sword the other spins the scabbard and he slashes at a punk's chest, causing blood to spill as he looks to the others to see if they are going to retreat. He mutters something in an ancient tongue, but a name does come it. Ares.
Jubilee Creeping in closer, Jubilation holds back to avoid being seen. She hides in the shadows, having pulled down the goggles over her eyes so that the darkened glass will hide the azure glow of her eyes. There will be little that she can do to control her instincts for much longer. But if she can just hold on...perhaps the fight will wind down, and there will be someone left for dead who isn't quite yet. It would certainly keep her from having to kill anyone else. Her muscles tense, trembling, uncertain of her command. Her body does not understand why she holds back, only that there is salvation close by, and it is still being denied nourishment.
Ares Ares just watches then as he leans against the wall...only for his name to be heard in prayer. Ares could be in Olympus and he would still hear him. he nods in an 'ahhh' kind of way. Someone who worships him? Interesting. He has many worshippers still, especially among alien or foreign cultures like Rome. Either way, he walks towards Caim in a relaxed stride. "Not bad." is observed.
Caim     The other three begin to back away from the man and begin to flee. Caim would chase them down but stops when he sees a man nearby. He nods. "I have been fighting for a long time. Studied under many others and adapted what they taught me to my own." Caim says as he sheathes his sword and looks to the man nearby coughing blood from the stab wound. He studies the man and looks around and he approaches the man. "I am Caim Kataras. And you are?" He asks curiously.
Jubilee Recognizing the man who's casually approaching the fray, Jubilation retreats farther into the shadows, backing up until she hits a crate, and climbs atop it, curling her knees to her chest and hugging them tightly. Her eyes flit from the man in the trench coat to the man who lies suffering on the ground, and she licks her lips.

The man in the coat was the same that she met one day in the park, eating a bomb pop on a park bench. She can only faintly remember how out of place he seemed, and how his manner so intrigued her that the mere touch of his fingertip incensed her to the point of losing control. She'd had to flee him then. And she was twice as hungry now. Rocking slightly to comfort herself, a soft groan escapes her lips, and she shakes her head. Can't give in, now. It would give too much away.
Ares Ares approaches Caim as the man clearly has skill and the knowledge behind it. "it is amusing is it not? how..man can hold onto something for so long....but when they finally see it? they do not recognize it." a small breath is taken then.

"I will ask...do you know who I am?" he smiles then... but he also notices Jubilee in her shadowy corner, but he chooses not to point her out quite yet.
Caim     "You look like a man I once considered worthy to follow. But It has been so long since him and his kin have been in this world. Once I met the gods themselves in ancient times. Back then a man could earn glory and honor easily dealing with the many monsters that plagued this world. Nowadays, people consider such actions barbaric and evil to kill those who would hurt or kill you." Caim says as he watches the man. He then gestures to the fallen man with the stab wound. "Consider him and his friends. They sought to relieve me of my wares and were willing to kill me to do it. But I am supposed to let these people live because it is the so called right thing? Only a fool welcomes their murderer." He says calmly.
Jubilee Jubilation carefully, with every ounce of her willpower, quells the glow within her eyes and slides the goggles again atop her head. She doesn't know if she can succeed with her endeavor, but she will surely fail if she sits and waits. Casually, she emerges from the shadows and approaches the men deep in conversation. "I saw a portion of what happened here," Jubilee begins as she halts near the men. "The one there...he needs medical attention, and to be turned in to police. I would take him, if you'll let me."
Ares Ares seems to be relatively amused. "What once was will always be. something I used to say in the old times. Perhaps I should give another hint? I hear you. my named wells often on your lips. in your silent prayers that I hear like whispers. to give you courage and strength, that I give you blessing in battles upcoming. You know my name. I am known by many."

"the three crows of Arima, my messengers. My horses, the Hippoi Areioi. I am blood-bringer, War-strider, and Battle. I am Storm-heir. my sons, Phobos and Deimos, I am Mars of the warlike constellation. I amGod of Violence, bloodlust, conflict, war and many others"

"I. Am. Ares." and when he says his name, lightning and thunderclouds form, darkness moves and grows in it's span, and his eyes flash a red of bloody hue.

Then he breathes and those marks of power fade. and his attention falls upon Jubilee.

"I know what you are, Jubilee. if you wish to feed, I suggest you don't waist time and feed. I can tell you are malnourished in that regard. I won't stop you."
Caim     Caim's eyes widen at the declaration and he watches the man. Caim then moves slowly, kneeling before the man. "My lord Ares. It has been too long since the world knew of you. Speak of what you want and I will see to it personally." Caim says as he watches the man. He then turns to look to the woman and when Ares says what he says he then moves to stand. "His life is forfeit the moment he attacked me. Atleast if you feed, his life has purpose." He says calmly to the woman. He then turns his attention back to Ares.
Jubilee At Ares' words, Jubilation's eyes dilate and glow faintly blue in the darkness. She shifts her gaze between the man she knows as John Aaron and the man kneeling before him. This is a moment she was not meant to see, and she recognizes this without any shred of doubt. For the first time since he was made what she is, she feels shame. Her cheeks would colour, and her face would burn, if she had strength and nourishment enough to blush. But as it stands, she has neither. At least this explains the power in John Aaron which caused her instincts to flash white-hot the moment he first touched her.

With one more glance between the two, she sprints with superhuman speed toward the dying man, scoops him up into her arms and disappears into the darkness. Running away from the men. Away from the shame. Away from those who would see her do what she must. Before she has run twenty seconds, the man in her arms gasps his dying breath and exhales his spirit into the ether. Jubilation stops, standing stock still and looking at the corpse in her arms. Shaking her head and trembling, she drops her burden in the dark alley, and flees into the night, seeking a haven, and warmth. The night is so cold, and she has little left of the light that once shone within her. No rest for the wicked. Isn't that what they say? Of course...perhaps the night will simply swallow her whole.
Ares Ares watches Caim as he kneels, and rightly so,to the God of War. Ares gestured with a hand to tell him to rise. "All it takes is encouragement of the mind to recognize what has always been with you." a small smile then. "you are performing well enough as it is. you enact conflict where you can and you outsmart and wit your enemies. as it stands, I have no tasks for you...though in the future, I have a task for you. Keep your skills honed. know that I hear you." for unlike other Olympians, Ares has not forsaken earth.

Then he watches Jubilee vanish into the night, taking her prey with her. "An unwilling Vampire. A rarity, in such times as these."
Caim     Caim nods to the man as he speaks. "It does my heart good to see you amongst the people." He says as he leans on his cane. He then watches the vampire run off. "Many would accept the power as well as the drawbacks. If she wished for a cure I could probably cure her condition. I am a mutant with the ability to control my cellular structure. Indeed it is how I have lived for so long." He says calmly. He then turns to the god. "I hope to strengthen mankind to make it a worthy race for your will." He says calmly.
Ares Ares nods softly "Certainly your longevity, experience, and time has made you wise." when he hears about his abilities, he chuckles softly. "I am well aware...It became curious to me as to how you were able to lives long, nevertheless, I accept your desire. Go with my blessing." level up!

"I will be watching. good luck." and he gives a little two-finger wave before he just....vanished out of thin air. goals were made, Shame was found, and purpose was restored.
