Stepford Cuckoos     The sundays at Xavier's are far more boring than they should be, and thus, a pair of the Stepford Cuckoos have decided to take a risk and find their way down to Metropolis. So much nicer, so much more ... fullfilling the promise of the visions of the future.

The sun is bright and high in the sky with a few whispy clouds in the atmosphere. The weather has allowed Sophie and Celeste to wear much more comfortable (and fashionable) light jackets and casual tank tops beneath, just slightly too short to reach the tops of their pants, showing off a bit of their midriffs and fancy perfectly white shoes. The sisters walk side by side towards the LexCorp building, and are headed towards the Visitor's Entrance. Curious and wanting to know what's going on and maybe build up an opportunity to become interns in the future. Maybe.
Karen Starr     Metropolis- and, specifically, the Hall of Justice, are Power Girl's normal haunts. That is, when she's not working- which, luckily, she isn't today. The noise of her flying through the air is audible if only because- while inured, to some degree- the citizens of Metropolis still point out when their particular protectors are present.

As a result, someone near the Cuckoos remarks- "Is that a bird... Oh, no, it's gotta be Power Girl, yeah. Nowhere near as large as a plane." A few people, in accordance, take a few pictures as she lowers her altitude, becoming quite visible to the naked eye.
Stepford Cuckoos     Sophie and Celeste hears the words spoken around them, but it's the thoughts, the sense of awe, that really cause them to look up. Shielding their eyes with one hand, the girls scan the sky for the heroine that they've encountered before, as they're always curious and the emotions of those around them are almost euphoric. It's something they could get used to.

The telepaths weakened hive mind reaches out to find Power Girl as well as their eyes, hoping to find the blonde in the sky. <<There!>> They think to themselves after gleaming the sight off a near by set of minds and so they turn to look right at the hero. "Wow." They both whisper in awe...
Karen Starr     A lifetime of combating various villains both physical and non has given Power Girl a mild edge- honing her mind into the same kind of stubborn entity that her cousin has. It's a familiar sensation when they make contact, identifying her location to some degree, but also identifying that they were present.

It's more their whisper that brings her to them than anything else, as she had only caught sight of them around the time that they commented.

Sooner than the breath has fully left their lungs, she is there- the buildings of Metropolis experienced in handling Kryptonian speeds, so the sonic boom and the movement of the blonde through the air at faster than the speed of sound is well handled- one of the few places she can cut just -slightly- loose.

"Okay, I can assume that that wasn't intentional, but could I ask the both of you to keep your minds to yourselves?"

It partially outs the Cuckoos- not that she imagines they mind- but at the same time, she's drawing on the encounter at Xavier's to have led her the right way.
Stepford Cuckoos     The girl's minds pull back, away from Power Girl, but no one elses, like a rock sticking out of the water in a river bed. The mental powers of the girls swarm around and avoid the Kryptonian. "We apologize." The twins say softly and in unison.

The Stepford Twins do keep their blue eyes locked onto Power Girl as so many questions bounce between their minds before Sophie asks one thing in an odd cadence. "What is, it like being, a hero?"
Karen Starr     Folding her arms- something that really ought to be against the law for her to do- Power Girl regards the twins skeptically- but she's not an offensive mental might, and can't tell if they're actually back in their own domain, or if they've just left her alone. "Okay then, you're good to-"

She pauses, then, taking a moment to consider the question. She's not overly pensive- and is all the more straightforward than Clark- but it still necessitates some thought.

"Uh, okay. I'm not really the best one to answer this but sure, I'll give it a shot. You see, there are... There are a lot of people out there that want to do just... Everything that they want to do, no matter what it is. That's really not that big a deal, but some people... Some people want something that isn't theirs, or they want to do something they're not supposed to do, to someone that doesn't deserve it."

There's a pause, that follows, as she thinks about it some more. "And so I don't know the best way to phrase it, but it's like... I feel like I'm doing the right thing. Like I can stop these things from happening, sometimes I'm the -only- person that can stop these things from happening, and I don't do it -for- the feeling of it, but when I do, it feels like the gifts I have are doing what they should be doing."
Stepford Cuckoos     The twins seem like they're taking note of every word that Power Girl speaks and Celeste even goes so far as to pull out her phone and holds it up to record part of the dialogue that Power Girl speaks. While Sophie mouths the words rapidly as if she was memorizing them and taking them to heart until she asks,

"How do you know if something is right and if something is wrong?"
Karen Starr     Another tough question gets flung her way, and Power Girl's arms unfurl from one another. "It's... It's almost like math," she begins, noticing the state of the two girls in front of her seems to be... Well, more unique than she'd seen before.

"When it happens, I can see the fear, and throughout it I can tell that, when I'm doing what I'm doing, all I'm looking for is whether or not the world is better than it would have been if I hadn't done anything. The net happiness is higher than it was if I hadn't intervened. It sounds... Complex, and sometimes it is, but more often than not... Its pretty easy to tel who needs to be punched."
Stepford Cuckoos     There is a bit more individuality than last time, but there were five of them last time, maybe it's inverse or something. Celeste remains recording Power Girl's words and she nods along. Sophie keeps listening intently before she again speaks up for both sisters.

"We don't think punching is something that's in our repertoire, but we'd like to help. Like you do." The twin lifts her hands up and clench fists as though she was squishing small grapes in her palms. "We like the feeling of helping others and being liked."
Karen Starr     Watching them both is a little confusing, but to some extent it makes sense that with less present, they'd be less strictly regimented to one personality. Perhaps, even, there is a 'lead' Cuckoo that Power Girl isn't aware of, and the others have to be near to adopt that one's personality... But that's just internal conjecture.

"Not everyone has to punch people to help people. It's just what I do best, really." Power Girl almost chuckles at the gesture, but she keeps her cool. "Well, listen, I don't know what you five are capable of. If you think you can help people, then... Just be advised that not everyone is destined to stop a meteor from hitting the planet, but if you can even take a moment if something like that is happening and just... Calm people down, keep them safe from just themselves, it'd be massively impactful. Massively helpful, and you wouldn't just be helping people, you'd be helping those of us who do the punching- crowd control is a really, really big deal."
Stepford Cuckoos     Sophie's eyes light up followed almost instantly by Celeste's, "We don't have any disillusions about our phsyical nature, we know we are awfully weak and frail, but." Sophie stops herself and glances towards Celeste and vice versa, for a brief moment. "We think we can help. We want to help." The girls don't quite know how to say what they're thinking. A flaw in their incredibly young mental age.

"Do you have any routine or pracitce or anything you do to prepare yourself for a day or shift?" All not quite the right words or way to put their question but they do hope that Power Girl understands what it is they're asking, even if they can't ask it quite right.
Karen Starr     Power Girl feels kind of like a den mother to the Cuckoos as Scouts. "Wow." she notes, seemingly... Aware of the nature of the Cuckoos' seemingly childlike wonder. "Well, if you want to help, then... I think we can get you set up maybe with the Titans, or..." she begins thinking, her head tilting a bit.

"Oh, whoa, no, you don't want any of my routines. I lift weights, but you don't want any of mine. I think... I think if we found someone who had powers similar to yours to help you figure out exactly what to do but it's... I mean the big thing is about stamina. Physical and mental. You have to stay on edge for... Hours at a time sometimes. It's easier for me than other people doing it- but I'm sure we can find someone to help you practice what you need to practice."
Stepford Cuckoos     "Well obviously no we wouldn't do exactly what you do, we'd adapt the ideas of the routine to enhance our own personal strengths and help us grow into our potential." Sophie responds, trying to clarify the idea they had. "We think we are familiar with the Titans. We have a sister who might be involved with one of their members. We aren't too sure, but we have our suspicions." The blondes say with a smile before looking between each other and Celeste slides her phone into her jacket pocket.
Karen Starr     "Well, the idea is that I maintain my limits- understand where my strengths are at that point, and then... Continue to improve. Physically and mentally, the endurance is the most important thing. The strength will come when you're doing what you do, but the endurance, the perseverance. I'd... I'd start running a lot, if I were you guys. I can only say that otherwise, you have to start... I guess find another person who has mental powers and start trying to... To wrestle with them, to flex the, you know, mental muscle."
Stepford Cuckoos     Sophie nods sharply at Power Girl's response before she turns towards Celeste and the twin also turns away from Power Girl and without a good bye or anything so formal or informal, the two begin to walk away. Seems they want to get to work right away to get to where they can be helpful to the blonde woman. They are quite peculiar and odd indeed.
Karen Starr     Power Girl blinks a couple of times, watching the two girls depart. Once they're out of a normal human's eyesight, she just shrugs, and begins to rise back into the air. Always work to do, after all.
