Mason     Mason's Ferrari wasn't the fanciest out there, but hey, it's still a Ferrari, and of course it is fire engine red. . His dad had encouraged him to invest his money, and he had enough sense to listen. He drove by and met Tyler as arranged. "So..." he says as he gets Tyler. "How... did all that happen earlier? You getting the moves on Andrea?" he asks. "Bold move." This is his way of saying hi, apparently.
Tyler Grant "I wanted to thank her for the dinner again and see where things went," says Tyler as he climbs into the passenger seat of the sports car, taking a moment to admire everything. Nodding his head at what he sees he says, "Sweet ride, man." Then he goes on about the initial topic, "I didn't expect..." He makes sure the doors and windows are closed, "The mutant stuff to really come up."
Mason     Mason shrugs, "Hey, it's a good connection point," he suggests. "I'd run with it. Andrea's pretty top shelf. Careful, though, she has an opinion on everything. She's not usually afraid to share it, either." He puts the car in gear, and they take off like a shot. That's what happens when a 16 year old has a car. "Don't worry, if you find an opening, I won't get in your way, you just go for it, okay?" he says. "I'll back you up."
Tyler Grant Leaning back in his seat, especially when the vehicle accelerates rapidly, Tyler finds himself grinning, "Thanks, man. I appreciate it." The young man lets out a little chuckle, looking out the window again for a moment, "I'm kind of nervous, actually. I don't have much experience with girls or anything." He turns back to look at his new buddy and grins, "I'll figure it out, though."
Mason     Mason grins, "Hey, there's a charm to that, you know. If you don't have the experience, let the inexperience show. Girls find that adorable as well, don't ask me why. Just... be careful, I think she still has a thing for me, probably would be better for you if I wasn't there." He pulls down the street in Manhattan, and soon, they arrive at Andrea's door. "Here we are, game face on," he says, opening the door to the car.
Tyler Grant Tyler Grant chuckles at the other guy's reply, sounding genuinely amused as he speaks, "Don't worry about that. I don't know how to hide it." Then he nods his head, "It's cool that you're here, though. Moral support and all that stuff." When they get where they're going and Mason starts to get out Tyler follows his lead, hopping easily out of the vehicle before closing the door behind him.
Mason     Mason turns around and looks appraisingly at Tyler. "Well, for starters," he says. "You ring the doorbell," he says, putting a hand on his shoulder and ushering him ahead.
Tyler Grant Another little chuckle escapes from Tyler as he goes ahead and takes the lead, pushing the button for the buzzer and sliding his hands into the pockets of his jeans. He looks around as he waits, trying to spot the camera he's reasonably certain is looking his way. "I figure this should be kind of fun anyway. I've never really talked to another mutant openly before."
Mason     Mason grabs Tyler's shoulders, giving them a quick rub. "Don't sweat it," he encourages. "She's just the most popular girl in the country." He gives a slap on the arm. "You got this."
Andrea As the buzzer goes off, the door opens a few seconds later after the cameras out front swivel towards the pair immediately. "Hey guys!" She is wearing a pair of snug skinny jeans that are low rise and hanging off her hip and a haltertop that cuts off just above her navel in a hot pink color to reveal her toned and tanned frame. Her hair is a bit wet from the shower she took earlier, pulled up behind her in a bit of a messy bun. The smell of fresh popcorn is in the air. "Come on in." The condo is decorated in a very modern look with plush white carpets, high ceilings, dark leather furniture and portraits along the walls of family photos. Her platinum record is framed and mounted on a wall as well beneath a light bar that frames it just right.
Tyler Grant "Ahh..." Tyler says with a definite lack of confidence in his tone as he rolls his shoulders with the little rub. He does nod his head, though, "Alright. I gotta give it a try or else I'll end up kicking myself." A weak chuckle escapes from him. Then the buzzer happens and the door opens, Tyler hops a little at the sudden sound and turns his head in a twitch towards the speaker, almost immediately afterwards closing his eyes and shaking his head at himself. Then his focus is on the young lady and he puts on a shy little smile, "Hey Andrea. Thanks for inviting us over." He follows inside, looking over the decorations and furnishings with wide eyes, very much impressed. The platinum record even gets a double take, the youth even more impressed by that.
Mason     Mason's eyes drift to Andrea's midriff, realizing that it may have been the intent. He acknowledges, "Hey," in a not unfriendly tone, but he seems to decidedly take the back seat in the conversation. It's not often that he finds himself as the third wheel.
Andrea "No problem, I'm glad you both could come over." Andrea says as she closes the door behind them, followed by the pair of bolts to lock it. She brushes past them, her fingers sliding along Mason's arm for a moment before she heads to the popcorn maker. "What flavor do you guys want? I'm going in on butterscotch myself. I like it sweet." She says with a happy hum in her voice as she practically dances to the large contraption with popcorn already filled. She scoops out a bowl for herself, then pours some butterscotch on top with a twist of a lever.
Tyler Grant "Your place is awesome," says Tyler as he continues to look around, totally missing Andrea touching Mason. As they arrive at the popcorn machine and after eyeing the flavors for a few seconds he makes a choice, "Cheese, please." He approaches the young lady and moves to help her with whatever she might need, "You need a hand?"
Mason     Mason looks at the popcorn. Yeah, he'll take some butterscotch as well. He grabs himself a bowl, and fills it with popcorn, pressing the butterscotch down on his own as well. He doesn't pay much attention to the platinum album. He already knows that one far too well. "So how did you two meet, exactly?" Mason asks, as if he didn't already hear it from Tyler earlier.
Andrea "We met when you dragged him in front of me, pretending that he was your long life friend during the crowd situation in Times Square." Andrea says as she scoops a bag of popcorn for Tyler, then dribbles the cheese on top of it. It's a spicy queso flavor. She turns and hands it to her new friend with a smile. "Then he sent me a message on Twitter thanking me for dinner and I hit him with a DM. Then I called him because my fingernails were wet." She holds up her hand, wiggling her fingers to show the pink nails with the white hearts in the middle of them.
Tyler Grant Accepting the popcorn with a smile of his own, Tyler nods his head, "Thanks." Then he listens as Andrea explains to Mason how things happened between them. When she shows off her fingernails the young man smiles again and says, "Cool. They look really good." With his popcorn in hand he tosses a single piece high up into the air then tilts his head back so that it lands neatly in his mouth.
Mason     Mason nods, "Ahh," he answers. "He's a good guy," Mason agrees. "So you guys started talking about being mutants really quick. Isn't that dangerous? I mean, a lot of people...they get pretty touchy about that subject." He seems to direct the question to Andrea, who likes to wear shirts that say 'mutie cutie'. It's a little disapproving of a look, like one a father might give.
Andrea "I came out to the world as a mutant after my label gave me the okay. Someone has to speak up for those who can't speak for themselves. I'm in a position of power and celebrity and I can use my status to try and inspire young mutants to feel good about themselves, so that they won't need to be ashamed of who they are." Andrea says as she pops a piece of popcorn into her mouth. "And I brought it up because I was curious to what he thought. A celebrity mutant. Then he told me he had a friend who was a mutant, and he kiiiinda was terrible at lying that he was talking about himself." She giggles as she gives an amused look to Tyler.
Tyler Grant "Thanks, dude," says Tyler to Mason with a quick smile before he pauses to listen to Andrea. His head nods as she explains her reasoning for coming out as a mutant. "I kind of wish I could do that, but the only person who knows, other than you guys, is my older brother." Then he chuckles and admits, "Yeah, I can't lie very well. I get too nervous."
Mason     Mason pauses. "That must be really rough." He seems to think about the fact for a minute. "Not feeling safe to tell your own family, your closest friends. It's gotta be toxicly lonely." He tilts his head to one side. "But, with all the haters out there." He looks back to Andrea. "Your label might not drop you," he says. "That doesn't mean your fans won't. More importantly. there's sickos out there that might try to kill you." His concern does not seem to be fake. "You think about that? Is it a statement you're willing to die for?"
Andrea "If my fans drop me, then they aren't really my fans, right?" Andrea says adamantly as she shrugs her shoulders upwards. "And yes, I think about it all the time. I've had death threats already on social media, people screaming at me on the street. But it's a price you pay sometimes. I got death threats before I came out. People making fun of my weight. Making fun of my music." She pauses. ".. Telling me I'm going to burn in hell for what I did to you." She rubs the back of her neck a bit. "But maybe I can change the minds of many as well, through my music, through my charities." She takes in a deep breath and looks back to the two of them. "Maybe I can save a few lives. Did you know that mutants have a forty percent chance higher to commit suicide than regular kids, including gay people or trans? They have a sixty percent chance of becoming homeless. A eighty-five percent chance of not finding a job. That's not fair. It's not right. I'm willing to take the hit if I can help others. I'm willing to die for it." She rubs at her shoulder gently, then picks up her bag of popcorn again.
Tyler Grant "It is what it is," Tyler says to Mason with a shrug and a distant look on his face. That expression fades fast enough when potential threats to Andrea's safety are brought up. One of determination replaces it as he says earnestly, "If anybody tries to hurt you and I'm around I won't give them the chance." Then things stay on the serious side of things and the young man finds himself nodding, "I think it'll make a difference. There's no way I would have told someone who wasn't a mutant about myself. I don't want to be ostracized just because I'm different. I'm just glad I can hide it, I really feel sorry for those people with obvious mutations."
Mason     Mason looks unconvinced. "Andrea, you just gotta be careful, okay? No telling what can happen. You can't help anyone if they kill you. Except maybe as a martyr, but then you're not around to see the results, so that sucks, too." He nods to Tyler, "Yeah, I can't imagine being one of those poor kids that everyone can look at and know they are mutants." As if he would know the struggle anyway, right?
Andrea "I don't look at anyone like that, mutations or not. I see them as who they are. People. I don't care if they got fur or four eyes. Everyone should be treated the same, equally, with love." Andrea says as she flops down on to her couch, folding one leg over the other at the knee. Tyler's admission of keeping herself causes her to giggle though as she looks up at him with a lift of her brow. "I'd show you my powers but I'm scared of what may happen if I do."
Tyler Grant "I don't think anybody is saying that people with obvious mutations are anything other than people, just that they got bad luck. I see someone picking on anybody and I'll try to step in and stop it," Tyler says seriously. He opens his mouth to say something else but seems to have second thoughts and shuts himself up. Instead, he moves over to the couch and takes a seat, giving Andrea some room, "I can show you some of my powers." He holds a piece of popcorn in his hand, tilts his head back, opens his mouth and tosses the popcorn until it almost touches the ceiling. The salty treat then falls back down and lands in Tyler's open mouth. Chewing on his food he says, "I can also hit stuff if you throw it up in the air, but I don't think throwing stuff inside is a very good idea."
Mason     Mason nods to Andrea, "You don't have to show anything you don't feel comfortable showing," he says, only belatedly realizing how that statement could sound. He decides to just move on, and watches curiously as Tyler declares that he will show his powers, He narrows his eyes. "Your power is to catch popcorn in your mouth?" he asks.
Andrea "Oh, like you and I haven't seen everything about each other a few times over." Andrea says to Mason with an amused grin on her face. "And he has perfect aim. That's his power. I bet he's the world champion at darts." There is an amused grin along her face. "Probably never misses the toilet either if he's drunk."
Tyler Grant "I don't miss when I throw things," Tyler says to Mason with a grin. "Go ahead and toss one of your pieces of popcorn in the air and I'll show you what I mean." He looks over to Andrea and says, "I promise I'll clean it up." Looking over towards Andrea he nods his head and chuckles, "I have to pretend to suck at everything from darts to bowling so I don't give myself away. I've never gotten drunk, though, so I don't know if my powers would still work."
Mason     Mason arches his brow as Andrea makes the rather lewd observation. "You haven't shown him yet," he says with a wink toward Tyler. "So, catch anything?" He grabs a handful of popcorn and tosses it, several pieces flying in a blossoming flow of butterscotch, just to see if he can really do it. He isn't worried about making a mess, apparently.
Andrea There is a roll of Andrea's eyes as she kicks a foot out towards Mason. "You're a dork. Sides, I haven't done that with anyone since.. " You. She leaves that last word hanging in the air as she pushes up to her feet and heads for the kitchen. "And if you guys make a mess, you are cleaning it up!" She calls out as she opens the fridge to look at the drinks, then pulls out a six pack of Cherry Pepsi that she brings over to them.
Tyler Grant As the popcorn flies through the air Tyler goes to work. His hands flash and his body twists so that he can snag the snack food out of the air. And he does a hell of a job at it, ending up with a handful of the delicious food, having kept nearly all of it off of the floor. With a chuckle, the young man drops the popcorn into his own bucket, "I was just going to have you throw one piece in the air and then toss my own piece and hit it. But that was cool, too, I guess." Then he bends down to pick up the couple of pieces he missed, moving to find a trash can to dump them in, "I got it, Andrea."

Mason     "Oh, snap," Mason gawks, his mouth dropping open. "That's amazing. So you are kinda like the Flash, right? But you just can't run that fast." He grabs a handful of the popcorn, and shoves it into his mouth. "Andrea, did you see that?" he reaches out as she walks up, snapping free one of the pepsis.
Andrea "Yeah, I saw it. It was pretty cool. Way better than my powers, which just scare people and send children running in fear. At least I would assume it would if I ever let it out. I came clean to the world I'm a mutant, but not what I can do for a reason." Andrea says as she gives a grin to the pair of them. "You're pretty awesome, Tyler. That's a cool power." She snaps her own soda off, then does one for Tyler as well. "Bet you'd be pretty good at cheating at cards." She grins wryly. "Not that I'm condoning it. Just saying it."
Tyler Grant "I've just got super good reflexes and agility so I can do stuff like that. And dodge paintballs and punches and kicks and stuff," Tyler explains to Mason with a big grin on his face and a shrug. Then he looks over towards Andrea, "Thanks, Andrea." He accepts the can of soda with a grin and cracks the can open so he can have a sip. "I've never tried cheating at cards."
Mason     "I condone it," Mason answers, "As long as it's not against me." He tilts the can up as if in a toast, then pops the top, taking a drink. "Look, if I had a power like yours, I'd probably be able to shred like nobody in history. You should take up guitar."
Andrea "Of course you would cheat cards. Mason Steele, the badboy of bubblegum pop." Andrea says as she cracks her own can, then takes a sip from it. "I bet soon as you are of age, you'll break the record of how many casinos you'll get kicked out." She says teasingly.
Tyler Grant "Maybe I will, man. I never thought about that," says Tyler with a shrug before taking another drink from his soda. Then he looks over at Andrea and chuckles softly. "I don't want to get in trouble at a casino. Aren't they all run by the mob? Rather not get on their bad side."
Mason     "I think that's just in the movies," Mason says. "I mean, if they were all run by the mob, you'd see Batman or Captain America or somebody trying to get them all shut down." He goes back over to the couch. "Andrea, you're pretty good at guitar, you should teach him," he suggests. "I main the keyboard."
Andrea "I'm also good at the piano and the harp." Andrea says with a chuckle. "But I can't do heavy metal or shredding on the guitar. I'm all acoustic pop. But if you want to learn, Tyler, I can always introduce you to my teacher who can probably show you some things. I learned how to read music when I was young so it helped me out."
Tyler Grant "I guess that's probably right," Tyler says to Mason with a nod. "Still, they can't be everywhere. You don't really hear about superheroes doing their thing in Vegas." Then he looks over towards Andrea and his eyes widen before he nods his head, "I could give it a try. It might cut into my gym time and my job, but if I could figure out the time I'd like to learn."
Mason     "See, all the more reason to cheat at cards, then," Mason responds jokingly. He sets himself down, bowl of popcorn on his stomach while he lays in an exceedingly reclined position. "We all got enough time to do what we think is most important," he observes. "Besides, if you turn out to be the next Slash, then you'll thank me, you'll be able to quit the job."
Andrea "You know, Mason. Since he's your best bud, why don't you teach him guitar? You're insane at it." Andrea says with a grin. "You are like a prodigy at every instrument I've seen you pick up, and also it'd give you two some male bonding time. I think it'd give Ty' more street cred to learn from the /famous/ Mason Steele."
Tyler Grant Settling onto the couch, Tyler leans back into a comfortable position and adjusts his popcorn bowl so that he can enjoy his snack while conversing. "If I turn out to be the next Slash I'll thank you for more than letting me quit my job." Andrea's idea of having Mason teach him elicits a chuckle from Tyler, "I don't care who I learn from as long as they can help me not suck."
Mason     "Me?" Mason asks, "I suck at teaching people, You're probably a way better teacher," he suggests. He grabs another handful of popcorn out of the bowl and stuffs it in his mouth. "Besides, you're more famous than me." Is that true? Who's measuring anyway?
Andrea "I am more famous than you, yes. But you are a better guitar player and he's your homeboy. You should teach him." Andrea chuckles as she gives a roll of her eyes upwards, glancing to Tyler. "It's like he's trying to pawn you off on me or something. Classic Mason." She takes another sip of her soda. "He can teach you how to fight, you can teach him guitar. It's a win-win."
Tyler Grant Popping popcorn into his mouth, Tyler watches the back and forth between Mason and Andrea with a smile on his face. It's clear that he's deriving amusement from watching the pair. "It's cool. If you guys don't want to teach me I'm sure I can find someone else," he says with a lighthearted tone of voice and a grin.
Mason     Mason hops up from his spot on the couch, putting the popcorn down and taking another generous gulp as he walks behind the couch, and as soon as he is outside of Andrea's field of vision, he mouths 'pick her' at him, frantically pointing. "So, if you want," Mason casually asks, going back to his normal demeanor. "Whoever you want to teach you man, it's cool."
Andrea "Let me guess, he's pointing at me and mouthing to pick me for some reason, right?" Andrea asks, then points across from her at the TV screen in which the glare of the glossy display can clearly show Mason standing behind her. She leans back, tilting her head upwards to stare at Mason from her awkward position. "We're gonna have a long talk, me and you."
Tyler Grant After seeing Mason's signal Tyler looks over at Andrea and gives her a smile. "I think I'd have picked you anyway. You seem like you'd have more patience when I screwed up time and time again." His shoulders shrug and he resumes his comfortable seat.
Mason     Mason glances at the TV. "I just think you'd be a better teacher," he defends himself. I am impatient," he agrees, taking another drink. "He's right. You know how impatient I am. I wouldn't want it to cost our friendship if I was a jerk to him."
Andrea Shifting some on the couch, Andrea raises her brow upwards at Mason, just a bit higher. "You are scheming. Fine. I will teach him guitar, under one condition. You and I are going out for dinner and a movie." She says, giving the popstar a poke in the abs. "Incognito of course so not to draw attention. And you're paying. Deal?"
