Carrie Kelley It was a relatively nice Gotham day. Which wasn't to say it was sunny and beautiful out. It was just relatively bright through the usual haze of clouds and polution that often gummed up the city skies. It wasn't raining either. It was a nice day and perfect to be out and enjoying it.

Carrie strolled along looking occasionally into the higher end store windows gazing at the dresses, and other garments on display. Most were far beyond her price range but that was the point of window shopping. She'd just begun to turn away from one window when the glint of something in a jewelry store catches her eye luring her steps there to peer in as well. She wasn't being overly aware of her surroundings and might just be going too slow, and obstruct the path of others on occasion.
Selina Kyle With a lovely day such as this it'd be a downright shame to squander it. So instead of spending time indoors, Selina has seen fit to hit the streets and spend some of her hard earned, AKA stolen, money. Luckily, or perhaps coincidentally for Carrie, she appears to be in the very same jewelry store that the young woman is looking into. Purchasing? Yes. Scoping out for later? Most definitely.

Turning from the counter with her new purchase, Selina spots a familiar shade of red hair in the window, bringing a smile to her face as she approaches it and leans over the display to tap on the glass. A little wave is given when Carrie looks up before the woman makes her way outside to greet her. "Well now, fancy meeting you here, dear. Enjoy the weather?" She beams, dressed casually today. Or well, about as casually as she can with her designer clothes.
Carrie Kelley The tapping causes Carrie's attention to snap up toward the woman behind the glass. It only takes a moment for recognition to click in. A large smile breaks her face, and she turns away from the window to greet Selina when she steps out. "Selina! This is a surprise. I am though, it's a wonderful day out isn't it? I thought I'd get some window shopping in and maybe grab a bite to eat while I'm out."

Her own attire wasn't fancy at all. A pair of shorts, some cute sandals, and a lace-edged scoop necked shirt. Fashionable but on the lower, comfy end of the spectrum. Nothing at all designer. She doesn't even carry a purse. "What's got you out? Shopping as well?"
Selina Kyle "Just picking up a few things, really. I've been putting it off for a while." Selina offers with a half-smile and a casual shrug before digging into her bag from the store and producing a small box with a set of pearl drop earrings inside. "What do you think?" As for the mention of food, Selina gives Carrie an inviting look as her head tilts off down the street. "And you know, I know a nice little cafe down the way. My treat, if you'd like to join me? I'd like to catch up, anyway. I want to know how your practicing's going."
Carrie Kelley "Oh, wow, those are beautiful," Carrie gushes when the earrings are shown off. Her attention shifts back to the window a moment before turning once more to Selina offering a smile. "One of these days I'm going to get something myself. But, that's not here and now," she adds with a helpless shrug. It's the mention of the cafe that earns a nod. "That'd be great! Lead the way, Selina."
Selina Kyle Selina notes the look back into the shop and tucks that bit of information away before putting the box of earrings back in their bad. "Glad you approve. Maybe a bit too fancy for out and about, but you never know when a party will come up." With that, she nods to Carrie's acceptance and waves for her to follow.

Thankfully the cafe isn't too far, only about a block, and while it may not be top class, it's certainly nicer than an average person would go to with its Parisian feel. Given the nice day, Selina takes an outdoor table, giving the approaching waiter a soft thanks when he supplies a single sheet menu and takes their drinks. A simple coffee for her. Once he's taken Carrie's as well and leaves, Selina fixes attention wholely on the girl and leans in with forearms on the table. "So? How /is/ the practicing going? And those classes you were talking about? I'm eager to see one of these nights."
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley takes her time glancing over the cafe as well as the menu once it's handed to them. Her own order is for a latte. Something nice, and that she doesn't often indulge in. "I've seen this place before but never tried it," she admits with quite admiration of the locale. Her touristy appraisal of the place is set aside when Selina questions her.

"Oh, it's been great actually. Other than being stiff and sore a bit I think I've been doign well." She leans her elbows on the table to lean forward some paying attention to the dark haired Selina. "I've kept up with the dojo training. It's been rather good. I think I could probably work up to a belt if I felt like it. As for my night time practice..." She grins there with amusement. "It's gotten so much easier. I've been looking up videos on parkour and the like. It's not too different from the gymnastics I took as a kid."
Selina Kyle Selina chuckles softly and flashes teeth in an amused smile. "That's always the worst part, isn't it? Being sore. But that's the beauty of practice, gets easier every time." As for the training, she nods lightly, only to perk up when Carrie mentions the parkour and canting head lightly with a smirk. "It probably wouldn't hurt to take up some gymnastics classes again. Helps keep you limber."

It doesn't take too long for the waiter to return, setting their drinks down before taking their orders. Selina continues to keep it simple with a grilled chicken salad with light dressing, not wanting to fill up too much. Sitting back after placing it, she indulges in her coffee for a moment once some cream and sugar is added. She eyes Carrie over the rim of her cup until she lowers it near her chin, both hands soaking in the warmth of it. "I'd meant to ask last time, by the way. What do you do when you're not hopping around rooftops? Job? School?"
Carrie Kelley "It's nothing I can't handle really." The topic is brushed off with a little wave of her hand and she looks back to the waiter whe he arrives. For a moment she stares at the menu, considering the options while biting her lower lip. A glance is cast up toward Selina. "I hope you don't mind, but since I don't think I'd really come here again I'm tempted to try something unique. I can pay the extra," she assures. "I just really would like to try this item," she adds glancing to the waiter while pointing at her menu. It's a delicate looking toasted sandwich with an egg ontop that looks rather good.

Once the waiter is gone again she leans back to take up her own latte. It's sipped with a little shiver of pleasure at the foam ontop. "Oh, I attend college. I also teach acting to younger students as a side job. I've got a decent amount of students so it helps make ends meet. I do other jobs too when needed, like dog walking and the like."
Selina Kyle Selina's only reply to Carrie's worries about the expenses are a casual wave of dismissal. No worries, she's got the bill covered plenty. Still, it's sweet of her to offer. Afterwards, she listens keenly with an idle nod, taking a sip of her coffee now and then. "Sounds like you're pretty busy, then. It's nice to see more people attending college, though I don't quite agree with the price." Naturally she doesn't make it known that she's never even been to college. ..Let alone finish high school. "What are your hopes after graduating? I'd be happy to bend an ear or two if you're looking for a particular position." A socialite such as herself has connections, after all.
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley takes a long, deep breath considering that. "To be honest I've not gotten that far yet in my plans. I was intending to become a director. I can act, but that was always my true passion. Telling stories that evoke emotion through the use of camera footage. I realize that's perhaps a bit of a pipe dream, but I did luck out recently and was given permission to film over at the Avenger Mansion by Tony Stark." There's little hiding that enthusiasm from her. Oh, she was proud of that one. "I'm re-doing the PR video they have on their website. It's atrocious, really." Lightly clearing her throat to get back on topic she shakes her haed. "Things have changed a bit lately with my goals though. I really do need to figure out what it is I ought to aim for. I still enjoy directing, and acting, but I realize that's a difficult profession either way."
Selina Kyle "Oh?" Now that grabs Selina's attention. She figured, given Carrie's smart look, that she'd be into the sciences. But acting and directing is much more intriguing. "You know, I've been by there a few times. I've always wondered what the inside is like.." And if there's anything worth much. "But while I agree that maybe you should start smaller, you shouldn't give up on your dreams. Maybe even start on the lower end of the industry and work your way up." But whatever Carrie decides to do, Selina is sure she'll succeed.
