Charles Xavier      Ah, a beautiful morning. But the previous day had quite a few....events. One of them specifically involved Mason in one way or another, so...since the Professor was meaning to speak with him anyway, Charles summons the young man to his office for a private conversation.

Thus does the elderly man wait patiently, reading T.H White's 'The Once and Future King', a novel that he is found the most to be reading, and for the knowledgeable, is among his favorites.

The good news is the Professor isn't mad or upset, which is always a good thing.
Mason     Mason's head appears in the door, a blond mess that hasn't showered since the day before. He wears it well, still. He woke up after being sedated for the evening, and had an opportunity to eat something. He wears a simple white t-shirt and gym shorts from the schooll, since his own clothes were rather stained with a a gallon or so of blood.
He wraps his knuckles lightly on the doorframe as he sees the professor sitting with his book. It's not familiar to him, and he inches his way forward, as if there is a forcefield preventing him from entering the room fully.
Charles Xavier      The Professor doesn't look up from his book for a moment, as if he was an old man who was hard of hearing, which he definitely wasn't. He knew when Mason was in the building and what specific section of the building he was on. But he felt a few things from Mason, namely possibly anxiety or even rage. But...who could say? Xavier didn't take too deep of a look, just a glancing thing.

Nevertheless, when Mason inched forward enough, Charles spoke. "Hello Mr. Steele." and he set his book down nice and neat with a nice little bookmarker to help keep his place secure. "Please, please, come in young man. We have a few things to discuss if you would like." and he smiles lightly.
Mason     Mason's fear is clear on his face, though oddly, his mind's surface thoughts seem blank. Surely not enough of a defense to stop someone of Charles' level, but far more skill in telepathic evasion than your average teenager, or even your average well disciplined adult would be likely to have.
"Yes, sir," he says simply, countenance unquieted by the reassuring smile. He steps in carefully, as if he is going to need to run at any moment, and stands behind one of the chairs in the office, putting both hands on it.
Charles Xavier      Charles smiles to the young man, seeing the fear on his face was enough. He didn't need to delve in, but he does gesture to the seat. "You may sit if you like, but if you wish to stand, well...that's alright too." because of Charles's telepathic range, even if Mason ran, he could still stop him with just a thought. Nevertheless, he leans back against his wheelchair and he smiles warmly to young Mason.

"I have a few things I'd like to talk to you about. The first is that you are clearly a mutant, young man." he smiles warmly. "and I would be happy to have you here studying at this school while finding a way for you to continue your music career if you wished it. The second thing...and arguably more importantly...is what appears to have happened to young Ms. Andrea."
Mason     "I think I had better do that," Mason says without defense or rebuttal. It's not as though he enjoys the aspect, as an deeper scan of his thoughts might reveal. He is terrified of what might happen if he doesn't. "Ms. Frost said that I might do private tutoring," he adds. "It might be safer. It was an accident, I didn't know," he defends. His emotions seem to get the better of his mental defense, and his surface thoughts slip a little. -I hope he believes me. It looks so bad.-
Charles Xavier      Charles smiles softly to Mason, listening to his words even as he speaks, like he didn't look mad or spiteful. "I'm happy to hear this. I will speak personally with your mother if need be, but I believe you will truly grow here in to what you are and what you can be." then Mason seems to speak about ANdrea.

"Calm down, Mason. I believe you. You should know that Andrea truly loves you with all she is." his smile is warm and inviting. "You should be careful not to lose her, young man." he advises lightly. "I am not angry with you. Neither are your friends. But you should visit Andrea today. It would mean a great deal."
Mason     Mason seems to sink rather than perk at the statement that Andrea loves him. "I spoke with her a little earlier," he says. "She should probably listen to the wolf." -Don't say that, it will only bring up questions.-
"I usually control my thoughts a little better. My mom, she's..." controlling, vindictive, exacting, "...protective. I don't think she'd be very happy if she knew that I was here all night."
Charles Xavier      Charles looks at Mason with a small smile on his face. "Good. Though...what makes you say that?" well, Mason was right! it'll make people ask questions! Though as Mason speaks about his mother, Charles nods. "I know that your mother is a telepath and she's been doing mostly wrong with her abilities, Mr. Steele. She is protective, I agree, though she's going about things in a very wrong way." Charles smiles softly to the young man.

"If you would like to vent or talk to me about it, my ears and the ears of your friends are open to you."
Mason     "Mason's lip twitches, and he finally takes the option of sitting down. "My mom loves me," he says, as if he needs to clarify after the negative thoughts. "She just...thinks other people are there to be her chess pieces. She wants what's best. When I was little, I thought that because she was a telepath, she must be the smartest person alive. Turns out, telepaths aren't actually any smarter than anyone else." He pauses, "No offense."
"I can't really talk to Andrea about it, she /hates/ my mom. It's really weird when two people you care about really hate each other. Dunno if you've ever experienced that."
Charles Xavier      Charles simply clasps his hands together in front of him as he listens to Mason speak, his eyes ever watchful on the young man as he speaks about his mother. "No offense taken, it's actually a point I've agrued many times, but...go on."

Charles seems to be quite the friendly fellow, watching as Mason speaks further and he descends into silence. "Actually, on many occasions this has happened to me. Young man I am sixty years old. In that sixty years, a great many things I've experienced. I once knew a young man by the name of Erik Lensherr. and Once upon a time I fell in love with a woman, and the two hated each other. Fiercely. Arguments always happened and eventually, I lost both because I was unwilling to act. From someone who's experienced this, I advise you to speak to both of them about how you feel."
Mason     "Yeah, I...I'm not really good at confrontation," he admits. "Sir, I'm really not sure how all this works. Y'know? I mean, there's mutants all over here, somehow it's a secret. I know you guys are proud of being mutants and all that. I don't wanna be a hypocrite or nothin'. I'm just a guy, you know? I'm not really good at fighting the man for the cause or anything."
Charles Xavier Charles smiles softly to Mason, though he doesn't interrupt him. "So I can see." Charles chuckles. "But part of life essentially -is- confrontation. Like learning to stick up for yourself. It's how people grow. Believe me, if you cannot deal with the situation, you will lose both your mother, yourself, and Andrea. If you need help, we will help you." then he hears that Mason doesn't want to fight the man for the mutant cause and Charles just laughs. "We arn't that kind of people, Mason. This is simply a place where you can learn and grow without prejudice that you're a mutant. Where you can be among people who know exactly what you're going through in that kind of way. You don't have to fight anything, young man."
Mason     Mason's thoughts go to all of the meetings with agents, planning that is made for concerts, lighting, hitting the mark, homework while on tour. Guest appearances to accept, guest appearances to turn down. "I don't think most of the people here know exactly what I'm going through," he says sardonically. "And it's good that you don't want me to fight anything, cuz I can't fight worth shit-I mean, worth anything, sorry," he apologizes for the vulgarity.
Charles Xavier      Charles sees all of Mason's thoughts. He's not as resistant as he might claim to be, but...he's better than most, but Charles can pretty easily get the glancing thoughts and feelings of the young man who sits with him. "Well, not //exactly// but the mutuality of being a mutant, Mason. Of course, you have a select few who truly understand. "It's alright, it's alright." he laughs just a little bit at Mason's vulgarity, but appears appreciative that Mason corrects himself so quickly. "I only ask that you truly take all of this into consideration. I would be delighted to have you a part of this school, as would your friends."
Mason     Mason nods. "Thanks, sir," he says. "I think I should," he says. "If you can really get my mom to go along with it. She's not going to like the idea, and she just has to say the word, and she can yank me out. I dunno if it's worth all the trouble." He adjusts slightly and uncomfortably in his seat.
Charles Xavier      Charles gives Mason a kind smile. "Excellent. Then It's decided. I'll speak with your mother and see if we can come to an impasse. But don't worry, I'm certain it will go swimmingly." he smiles. "Now then, is there anything else you'd like to talk about?"
Mason     "No sir," Mason says, standing back to his feet. "Thank you. Just...don't tell her about the rock thing, okay? That's not something I want her to find out about." He knows how those requests usually go with teachers, but he has to try.
Charles Xavier Charles smiles softly to Mason. "I won't say anything...but, if she asks and demands it of me, I will have to tell her the truth. But between us Mason, it will be far better if she hears it from you. Besides...women always find out the truth." and he winks. Though of course, Charles also doesn't tell him that she already knows.
