Brooke Harris Brooke is sweeping and tending the studio between classes, having run her tu di ragged earlier. She has tried to keep her calendar relatively free today. She drifts across the studio softly in gongfu slippers and a black gongfu uniform with a red embroidered top. No wasted effort in her movements, no sound. The door is open, the windows covered. She is the one watching the door today.

As you approach the door, before you even open it, she pauses, sensing somebody's ch'i nearby, and turns to the door to see who enters. She settles herself, very relaxed as always.
Lady Shiva As the door opens, a woman enters. Her chi is strong, powerful, pulsing around her invisible to any but those with the abilities to view such things. She has on an Asian style shirt in red, covered by a black trenchcoat that flows behind her as she moves. Her legs are covered by simple black pants, feet in black slippers that make no sound as she moves. She is not here on business today, thus using the front door. She would be an unknown, someone who is not on any files or records. One who is not known on sight by others. Only that aura of her essence may give away what stands before Brooke.

She pauses inside the door, seeking the woman within. When she spots Brooke, she gives a short bow, waiting for the return before she will move another step or say a word.
Brooke Harris Brooke considers the arrival briefly, taking in the great level of control of chi, and the very careful, balanced stance, eyes flickering a little as she very quickly sizes up muscle tone and other smal clues. Her eyes widen a little bit as she narrows down who it could be, then she bows, rather deeply in respect.

She considers her words, releasing the slight tension that sprang up in that moment.

"Welcome to my humble studio. I have been expecting you, though I did not know when you might arrive. Would you care for tea?" She gestures politely to the kettle on the wall and the shelf of Chinese teas above the small table set for such occasions.
Lady Shiva Her reputation often precedes her. There are different reactions to her arrival. Generally, they are not quite as polite as this. Respect begets respect. Shiva returns to a verticle position as she steps inside, closing the door behind her finally. "Yes, I would like some tea," she says as she walks further into the room. Her eyes never leave Brooke. Reading her, noting the hints that giveaway what she is. "You have been expecting me? That is ..unusual. Yet you do not fear I am here to kill you." To the point, her way from time to time. "Or you simply have no fear of the next journey?" Which is all death is.
Brooke Harris Brooke drifts to the tea and begins preparing it with the good water in the glass jug and the oolong she was gifted from the master herbalist in Gangsau province. "It would be unnatural to not fear of death. But death is inevitable. As are you, when someone like me becomes a little bit less clumsy than most of the people around her."

She smiles a bit. Still a bit nervous, but it does not enter into her muscle tension. She sets the table with cups set equal distance from the chairs, and starts brewing the tea with the heated water, setting the pot on the table before drifting into a seat smoothly.
Lady Shiva "I hear whispers. People share information with me when they think I may find someone interesting." Shiva moves to the table, taking the seat opposite as she pulls out the chair. She sits but doesn't tuck up under the table as many would. Easy for movement if needed this way. She continues to regard Brooke, openly staring at her. "Some you have assisted tell me you are worthy of such attention. With your knowledge of me, it seems they have assisted in telling you things as well. I am displeased with this. I prefer my anonymity."
Brooke Harris Brooke nods. "I understand. I hear whispers as well. Almost certainly from the same people. I have not heard whispers about you. I have heard whispers about things you have likely done, with a conspicuous absence of information about how the things came to have happened. I hear sudden silence when certain topics are raised. Much in the way that a completely black garment is more visible in the shadows than a faded one."

She pours tea into both cups in front of you, then casually motions to them to allow you to choose one. "I hope the tea is to your satisfaction." She smiles, keeping you in her field of vision, always keeping your body in her peripheral vision, even as much as she knows that if you choose to attack, she could not defeat you.
Lady Shiva Taking one of the cups randomly, Shiva lifts it in her left hand, raising it to her lips. She gives a nod of her head then sips, not waiting for Brooke to do so first from her own cup. It is a sign of respect, if not exactly trust, to do so. Perhaps because she knows she can deal with anything that have been added to the drink.

"Thank you." Both for the tea and the respect that is being given her. She can tell Brooke is keeping her in sight. She finds that honestly to be a wise choice. One who would turn their back on her would be scoffing a her skills, as though she was no threat. "Tell me of yourself and your talents."
Brooke Harris Brooke takes the other cup and raises it to her lips, inhaling deeply before sipping. "I am somewhat competent with the Taoist sister arts. Taijiquan, mainly the Wu and Chen lineage; Xingyiquan, and Baguazhang. I am starting to get a good grasp of Qigong, and I have also trained in yoga, aikijujutsu, and a couple of other diversions of the sort. I have more control of my own body than most, I am a bit sensitive to the flows of qi, and I have some sskill at applying it with chinese medicine to others."
Lady Shiva There is no change of expression but something shifts in Shiva. The Zen feeling that seems to hang around her fades slightly for once such as Brooke who might sense it. Then that shift is gone and she is back to the way she had been, taking a sip of her tea then setting the cup back down on the table. Her hands are drawn back off the surface to rest on her lap.

"What has driven you to learn these things? What put you on this path?" she asks politely as she continues to read Brooke's every shift, every movement.
Brooke Harris Brooke considers. "My mother is a yogi and a meditator. She has some skill in controlling her own body. I was born with a mismatch between my body and my mind; I had learned to be sensitive to how my body worked, and it went a bit wrong. They gave me drugs to stop it, and I had a bad reaction to them. So I dove into studying more about body control until I could cycle my body chemicals to the correct levels just by will."

She sips some more tea, eyes drifting between your eyes and your silhouette, always watching you. "To do that, I had to work with a number of masters, and they felt I had a knack for it. They wanted to keep studying, and I found it fascinating. There are a lot of aspects to the human body that people just do not understand very well, that I have had to learn."

She tilts her head, gaze slightly distant for a moment in contemplation. "Honestly, I feel that everyone should have access to that knowledge. The world could be better if people knew that with enough practice and knowledge, they could, say, cure themselves of cancers by will alone. I have no need to be the one holding the knowledge."
Lady Shiva "I see." Shiva gives a nod, unnecessary movement which means it is done very specifically and to convey a point. She approves of what she has heard. What that means in the long run is anyone's guess. "Sharing knowledge is to be commended. When it is for the right reasons." She sips her tea once more before she continues to speak. "Your path was one of personal enlightenment to learn more about the healing arts. Which often blends with the more destructive side, though most don't recognize that." She slowly rises from her seat.

"I thank you for the tea. I have other duties to attend so cannot finish it. However, I will be keeping an eye on you." A promise? A threat? Hard to tell with Shiva.
Brooke Harris Brooke bows her head in return, though not so low as to hide your silhouette behind her forehead. "I would expect no less." She steps carefully from her seat and rises as well, steepling her fingers in front of her respectfully.

She considers a moment. "While I will admit that pure self preservation suggests that I prefer not to see you again, and I know that it would be meaningless to hide that from you, should fate decide that you have need to contact me in future, feel free."
Lady Shiva That actually earns a brief, tight smile from Shiva. "Wise beyond your years." She moves to the door then stops there, turning to give a bow of respect to the master of this place. Then she opens the door and slips out.
