Red Ranger The Angel Grove Youth Centre! Truelly the heart of the beating teenage nation that is Angel Grove, always packed with kids (when it's not school time) Today is no different than any other as Jason Scott sits on one corner of the large area of wrestling matts, not inside one of the circular 'rings' painted on the matting, but on the side, currently wearing dark red running shorts and a lighter red tank top he's stretching his legs getting ready for a workout of some sort..
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley wasn't a usual face around here to say the least. This wasn't precisely her neighborhood. That was the reason she was here, though: She had some investigating to do and doing it outside of her usual area was probably safest. Plus... To be fair it had been awhile since she'd gotten out to actually socialize in any aspect. Two-fer.

The redhead enters the room glancing around the gym and juice bar taking in the sights. She takes care to step to the side to not block the door though. Her own attire is a pair of white shorts with a pale green t-shirt. Sneakers though? Those were brown and green Pumas. They were comfy.
Red Ranger Jason Scott stands up, his stretch done, He's about to go on a rather long jog/run when he spots the new face. Angling towards the redhead he moves to get in her line of sight and waves. "Hey, havn't seen you here before, you new to Angel Grove?" he asks in a friendly manner right as a rather large, pony tailed wearing man, followed by a rail thin, short haired man chewing bubble gum starts walking over as well, the larger of the two smiling an oily smile.. "Welll Heeeeello there.." he says blocking her view of Jason... "Come here often?" the skinny one says with a grating giggle..
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley starts to smile warmly in response to Jason's greeting when the other guys come up. An eyebrow lifts up at the pair that cut in abruptly before she can even respond. "Thinking of coming here a lot less now," she offers in a too-sweet tone, before clearing her throat. "Just came in for a drink and to check out the gym," she adds as her eyes scoot past them to the first guy that greeted her.
Red Ranger Jason Scott rolls his eyes at seeing tweedle dum, and tweedle dummer, as he slips up behind the two.. "Hey guys, Earnie was looking for you, something about your Tab?" he says which causes the two to glance at each other "ohh, right. our tab!" The big one says before the skinny one adds "ohh yeah.. our tab! lets go take uhh.. care of that right away." before the two evaporate as if they had never been there.

"Sorry about that, those two goons are harmless, but annoying. I'm Jason." he says as he offers his hand out in greeting.
Carrie Kelley Jason. The name was the one she'd come searching... A guy named Jason who was a martial artist. But it wasn't the Jason she was looking for. Managing not to look dissapointed at the dead end she reaches out to accept the offered hand with a smile. He was polite enough at least. "Carrie. Nice to meet you. I know the sort, though it's been awhile since any of them have bugged me. I guess it's different when you're a new face."
Red Ranger Jason Scott smirks.. "Ehh, not with Bulk and Skull there.. Knew them all through highschool, they know exactly how many black belts I own, still tried to be bullies." he shakes his head "Some people are just dense, thankfully they're harmless and tense.." he says with a chuckle. "So what brings you to Angel Grove?" he asks "Buy you a smoothie?" he offers motioning to one of the empty tables. "You don't look like you'ed be transfering to Angel Grove High.." he adds contemplativly..
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley shakes her head a bit at that question, though she does angle toward the smoothie bar. "No, I'm already in college," She explains, "I'd love a smoothie though." Lifting a hand she tucks her hair back behind her ear, adjusting the edge of her glasses in the process. "I've got a friend that owns a dojo out here I've been training at over the Summer. I never really got out to look over the town though so I thought I'd take the opportunity while I have it. I'm originally from Gotham," she explains with a small shrug. "It's a really different city compared to home."
Red Ranger Jason Scott grins.. "Yup, Been to Gotham a time or two.. It's all Smog and Gargoyles.. and the Buildings are so tall, feels like it's almost always night time there the way the buildings block out the sun." he comments shaking his head before grabbing a menu off the table and offering it to Carrie. "What discipline does your friend teach? It your ownly Martial art?" he asks curiously..
Carrie Kelley "It's definitely dark and dreary but you kind of get used to it. It's saved me from a lot of sunburns at least," she has to admit with a chuckle as she takes up the smoothie menu to look it over. "Qi Gong," she explains. "I've taken some Krav Maga as well before I met her. I wouldn't say I got far enough in either to have any sort of belt though." Plus she was fairly sure there wasn't a belt for the stuff she was learning. "Oh, orange strawberry and banana. That sounds pretty good."
Red Ranger Jason Scott nods, "one of those coming right up!" he says as he quickly moves to the bar to place the order for that and something for him before slipping back over to the table. "Krav Maga, Intresting, What made you decide to start studying Martial Arts? Most of the folks I know have been training in it since they were kids, It's kinda rare in my experience to find folks starting out as an adult."
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley claims a seat at one of the tables as she waits, and watches this Jason from behind. How interesting. She was already starting to get used to reading how people moved thanks to the training she'd been getting. When he returns, she sits there with fingers laced together resting her chin on them as her elbows prop her up on the table. "Hmm, I'd taken some self-defense classes in high school and college. In Gotham it's always a good thing to know something or another. It wasn't really enough though. I was taken hostage by some ninjas that Batman was fighting." Her nose crinkles. "I tried everything I knew, and then some. I guess I just didn't like feeling helpless. I started taking more in-depth classes after that."
Red Ranger Jason Scott nods his foehead furrowing a bit in concern. "Yeah, that's a pretty horrible spot to find yourself in." he says before his expression lightens up a bit "If you want to pick up a little Taekwondo, or Judo, I do a class for the former on Tuesdays here for free, and the latter on Wednesdays, just come with an open mind, and a willingness to learn. My friend Tommy I think picks up a few classes to teach on other days of the week, so there's almost always someone up here to learn something from." he says with a grin.
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley considers this a moment before giving a nod. "It might be interesting to expand what I'm learning some. Plus I have to admit I need to get out more. Much as I love spending time with my friend, I haven't done much else this Summer. I feel like I should before it gets much colder." Her head tips slightly to the side grinning at him. "So why'd you get into martial arts, then?"
Red Ranger Jason Scott nods as he listens. "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." he quips leaning back a bit in his chair "I was five, thought ninja's were cool, and had a bad temper. My dad enrolled me in a Budo Babies class, and it was love at first kick." he explains with a grin. "Got my first blackbelt when I was thirteen, just kept picking them up ever since."
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley raises an eyebrow slightly. "Typical boy stuff, huh? I guess it's better to do that than get into trouble though. It's... rather rewarding learning I have to admit. Kind of addictive even. Though," she adds with a laugh. "Sometimes leaves me a bit sore."
Red Ranger Jason Scott snorts.. "If you're not working up a sweat, and sore afterwards, you're not doing it right." he says cheerfully, getting back up when Ernie motions that the smoothies are ready slipping hers infront of her while he takes a drink of his own. "You've always gotta push yourself, it's how you grow." he comments before taking another long pull from his own smoothie, something pale green with darker flecks of green floating in it..
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley lifts an eyebrow at the sight of the smoothie. A sip is taken of her own fruity version which she finds quite pleasant. Still. Floaty bits. "Okay I'm caving. What on Earth is that you're drinking? It looks like some of the concoctions that my friend would give me. Which weren't very tasty," she has to admit.
Red Ranger Jason Scott takes another drink of his.. "Kale, spinach, and bean sprouts with a little bit of coconut milk added in.. I'm working towards a Martial Arts Tournament, and this has all the various vitamins and protine I need for a good hard workout." he says pulling out a napkin to wipe at his upper lip. "Wanna give it a taste?" he offers.
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley looks dubiously at it while pulling a face. Still. Maybe it wasn't so bad? Maybe. "A little one I guess. That does sound like it'd be good for recovering after a workout." Her own is slid across toward him with the same offer of, "You've probably tried this before, but you're welcome to some too."
Red Ranger Jason Scott smiles and shakes his head "nah, it's all yours, but you're welcome to mine." IT of course is as vile as it sounds a protine powder mixed in not helping the texture of the smoothie which could only be described as.. Chewy...
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley takes a sip... and instantly regrets it. With eyes squeezing shut as she tries to swallow it, she nudges it back toward him shaking her head quickly. It's gulped down, finally, but her tongue sticks out after. "Eugh. That tastes about like what it sounds like. I think I'd rather just have a salad. Thanks for the taste," she adds with a wry grin.
Red Ranger Jason Scott grins.. "Kinda like how more calories are in a slice of bread than the same volume of grain, more in this cup than waht I could eat going through my head's volume in salad." he says simply taking another drink, seemingly completely inured to the smoothies unique texture and flavor. "You said you're in College right? What's your Major?" he asks curiously.
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley rolls her shoulders a bit loosening up the tension that awful drink brought about. "I've been majoring in film and video production. Theater was my thing in highschool," she explains. "I teach acting to some of the younger students or those that try to get involved later and need to catch up. I've been considering switching to veteranarian though. My mom was a vet and animals have always been a love of mine."
Red Ranger Jason Scott grins.. "Take the Vet courses, audit the Film and Video Production? With websites like Daily Motion, Vimeo, and Youtube, you can always do movie stuff on the side, make a name for yourself there, and then have both to do. One as a hobbie, the other a job." he suggests "I'm currently going through EMT training to be a vollunteer fire fighter, once I have that out of the way I'm thinking about opening up a dojo.. "
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley grins wryly. "Actually I kind of got Tony Stark to agree to let me redo the Avenger's website and their 'tour' video of the mansion. It's been kind of hard to find time to do it with training, and their schedules, but I do intend to finish that."
Red Ranger Jason Scott gapes a little "You've met Tony Stark?!" he says with surprise.. "man.. what's he like in real life? Is he as flippant about things in private as he is when he's talking to reporters? He always seems to not really /care/ about what's going on.. then he suits up and is all 'I am Ironman'" he says simply his eyes wide with excitement as he studies her hanging on every word she might say..
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley tips her head to the side a bit. "Yeah he was holding a speech at my college, and came to look over the stage area and check the lighting. I've had to do some extensive work on the rewiring because the building was old. They were really messing up the settings so I took over. He asked me to be there to handle the effects for his speech and I said I would if he gave me the opportunity." Smiling a bit with amusement, she continues. "He seemed pretty nice for the most part. Let others handle the technical stuff and didn't really seem to care too much about the Dean sucking up to him. Plus he agreed to what I said and that was cool. Overall a nice guy."
Red Ranger Jason Scott grins. "That's awesome. I've not met anyone like that, Angel Grove's a little out of the way for any of the big super heroes to come here." he says simply not seeming to think that the local heroes of the Power Rangers count. "So, which would make you more happy, Healing Puppies, or Taking Cat pictures?" he asks cheekily..
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley rolls her eyes a little bit at that. "Both are good and fun, but I had wanted to direct. It's just that I think my tastes are changing some. It doesn't seem as important anymore."
Red Ranger Jason Scott nods. "I get that, really do." he says finishing off his smoothie with a satisfied sigh as if it were 'tasty' "I'm holding off on college for a year or two, I like helping people, and I like teaching Martial Arts, I don't know what /else/ I'd want to do with my life.." he says thoughtfully glancing at the 'watch' on his left wrist for a moment..
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley smiles faintly at that. "There's really nothing wrong with being a teacher, too, you know. I actually really do enjoy the classes I teach on the side. I mean sure it's a little bit of income from those that can afford it, but it's also rather rewarding." Noticing the glance to his watch she sits up clearing her throat. "I've kind of stolen your time here I guess. I should probably get going myself if I want to do the touristy thing around town a bit more. It was nice meeting you, Jason."
Red Ranger Jason Scott glances up "ohh! no! I wasn't looking at the time.. This." he pauses to show the communicator, designed to look like a watch with a clamshell top. "was given to me by a friend, me and some others do community service, and talking about helping people just made me think of this.. " he explains apologeticly. "IF you want to do the touristy thing, I could show you around the city." he offers "My Jeep is parked around back, so you don't have to hoof it all over town." he offers..
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley smiles a bit in response. "Well... Maybe for a little bit. If it's no trouble," she agrees.
Red Ranger Jason Scott grins, grabbing his keys and guiding CArrie on out to show her the wonderful city of Angel grove
