Professor Zoom Future Solutions. Not many people get to see past the main security checkpoint for their main lab unless they've contracted for research, or are government officially looking into the legal aspects of their work. Tonight, Alek and a number of other contest winners have been allowed into the front lab to the left front of the building. The blonde doing the tour is dressed in an impeccable business dress, her green eyes expressive and warm as she starts to lead the six through the checkpoint. Bags are checked, sensors run over their clothing, and the general atmosphere as they start to walk in is one of safety.

As the woman waits for security to do their jobs, she gives a placating smile, "I apologize for this, but it really is for the best. Can't have people with bad intentions or information getting into the wrong hands after all, right?" Most of the teenagers and young adults grumble; they knew what they were getting into when they signed up.
Alek Alek is pretty calm and collected, he seems to have a slight habit of a slight lean forward ever so often, his eyes don't make contact with people he talks with for very long, it's like when he does it feels bad to him. As the scanners do their thing, he seems attracted to the scanners looking them over his already slightly glowing blue eyes glow slightly brighter. He mumbles to himself and security if they happen to overhear, "sniffing the blue.. I guess looking for iron and electronics." he looks back to the Tour Guide and smiles briefly, "Anything to see this place and the Mr. Wells. He's one of my idols.. seeing the future is tough when the current yells at you."
Professor Zoom "Doctor Wells is in and will be helping with this tour at certain intervals, but he is a very busy man dealing with many projects for the lab." The woman states to Alek as security finishes. "My name is Tracy, and I'll be your guide." Her gaze sweeps over those present. "the passes you have attach to the front of your shirt will allow you past our security, but I ask you not to deviate from our route. If you do, they have orders to detain you and return you to the group." Tracy notes, before she waves at the one way glass pane, "We're ready when you are." She smiles.

A few moments later, and the security checkpoint doors open, the hydraulic engines easily heard as the feet thick armored barricades lift. "Right this way." Tracy offers as she starts to walk into the main corridor. Brightly lit, the whites and sleek doors to either side can be seen as Tracy continues, "Our first stop will be the applied sciences lab, where many of our current generation technologies are undergoing improvement."
Deanna Dove Wells has been on Deanna's radar for a while. She has wanted to talk to Earth's preeminent Speed Force expert. And she managed to win the contest somehow. She runs there in a blink, and changes into a simple pair of capri-khakis and a violet blouse. Her hair is short, curly, and red. She got into the door with the others and smiles, walking in, looking around. She follows Tracy as bidded, keeping quiet for now. Probably a few years older than the others, but nothing too remarkable.
Alek Alek nods, his head like bobble head as Tracey speaks, he attaches the given pass to his shirt. He watches as the hydralics do their thing, it's impressive from a engineering perspective but, of course the true toys and science lies within these walls.

He follows along with the group, his head snapping once in a while as they walk by anything halfway interesting.
Professor Zoom The hallway itself is bland. White. Sterile. Grey doors and barricades leading to other chambers break up the monotone, but nothing truly interesting is out here. It is probably intentional.

As they reach one of the last doors on the left, Tracy turns to regard the group, her smile reaching her eyes as she gestures to it casually. "Applied sciences is where next generation prototypes are stored. Tonight, you'll all be the first to actually see some of our household appliance projects in action. Though a warn you," she brings up that gesturing hand, wiggling it in a casual warning, "don't touch anything. There are plenty of bugs and flaws to sort out, still."

She types a code into the hooded keypad, and the door slides up. This one is much quicker then the security barricade, "This way." She cheerily states as she walks in.

Inside is... for lack of a better word, organized chaos. A number of cubicles and chambers are occupied by various inventions and contraptions. Some familiar, some entirely alien. There are few actual scientists in the lab right now, with about four security guards decked out in state-of-the-art gear. A pistol and electrical baton hang from their belts.

As the group gets nearby a shower looking chamber, Tracy looks back to the group, "this is one of our more interesting projects. Who here has watched Star Trek?"
Deanna Dove Peregrine just looks all around, eyebrow raised, as she is studying everything - looking for anything that looks like it'd be something Speed Force-related. This Harrison Wells is supposed to know something, but so far he hasn't shown. She blinks as she mutters, "Don't we already have the 'transporter'? You can step from New York to Vancouver with the Zeta Port..."
Alek Alek is not your normal young adult or human for that matter, even the blank hallway leaks a certain amount of electrons, neutrons, and other particles which barely block the contents of the rooms. He admires the dull walls as if watching a small fireworks display around him.

Nevertheless, he does nod to Tracy as they are allowed into the lab. He looks to the other members of their little troupe. The mention of the shower and Star Trek definitely quickly has him raise his hand. A flutter of a smile appearing.
Professor Zoom A number of the other young adults raise their hands as well, "Zetaporting is definitely an interesting technology, but this has nothing to do with teleporting." Tracy replies to the question, before she gives a nod to the chamber, "This is a directed sonic wavelength chamber. There are a number of different applications for technologies like this. Low frequency vibrations can be a sort of sonic shower, as seen in some Star Trek series. High frequency chambers can make mining or construction much safer, as well as waste management."

She looks back to the group, "we hope to one day be able to refine these technologies for many applications. Right now, they're a brute force solution with the amount of fine tuning required to make them work at that level."

Tracy brings a hand to the console next to the chamber, "I've been allowed to offer a demonstration of the destructive ability of the chamber, if anyone has something they'd like to toss in the trash."
Deanna Dove Peregrine pulls a candy bar out of her pocket. And smiles as she hands it to Tracy. "I'll donate this to science." She pulls back as she wonders what will happen. She has a good idea that it'll be vibrated into dust. This she wants to see. She glances over at Alek and the other four.
Alek Alek fingers his pockets but he shakes his head. "Sorry." He watches the console and Tracy, "Definitely waiting with baited breathe, this should be awesome." He fidgits a bit more as he gets excited though it's definitely akward.
Professor Zoom The candy bar is tossed into the chamber, and the lights turn on... changing the white hues inside slightly tan as the group gets a good look inside. A button is pressed on the console, and the chamber is sealed shut by a clear glass-like material. "I'll admit," Tracy continues, "the things this one can do have amazed me on occasion." Another button is pressed, and the sound of electrical humming can be heard as more lights turn on inside, "I once saw this thing sandpaper a freshly painted desk in low frequency mode. It was a miracle it didn't tear apart at the molecular level from the stress it was under." Tracy sounds excited herself.

After five more seconds, the sounds of subdued sonic blasts can be heard from inside, and the candy bar starts to... evaporate. It's breaking apart and turning into dust all right... but at a far more pulverized form then the naked eye can see. Soon, nothing is left.

A button is pressed to turn it off, and Tracy looks to the group, "As I said, brute force. This chamber takes up far too much power to be economically viable yet compared to landfills, but we're working on that elsewhere."

The rest of the lab is incremental improvements to various household appliances. Hovering robots with poor battery life with attachments for various tasks, washers designed to test new chemical mixes for clothing. Eventually, Tracy leads the group to the exit, "next up is the computing lab, where we work mainly on miniaturization and expanding the limits of what can be done. Since most of that is beyond me, Doctor Wells has offered to explain it to all of you."
Alek Alek watches the various shifting colors of lights and particles.. if he's able to touch the wall of the protective barrier, he would and if he was able the particles bouncing off the shielding would light up in his mind like little fireflies. Their subatomic particles becoming small flares of different colors and shapes, he tries to keep his chanting of "Purple, Blue, Red, Purple." to an audible whisper as the bar vanishes, he removes his hands from the barrier (if he was able to touch it in the first place).

He doesn't find much of the lab just as interesting as they wander past the other items.. still reviewing the molecules in his head. The mention of 'computing lab' however bring his attention sharply to Tracy, "Computing?", "Lab?", "Doctor Wells?" he keywords her last statement.
Deanna Dove Peregrine raises an eyebrow at the disintegration. She hmmmmmms softly, and after a brief tour, she sighs as she is finally going to meet Doctor Wells. Her first question is going to be why he chose to study the Speed Force. When there are only a handful of people on the planet who can harness it. But she is being patient for now. She glances over at Alek who's chanting random colors.
Professor Zoom The next door over is a much smaller chamber with much more organization. Server farm upon server farm lines up in stacks, with one central gigantic node in the center of the room. Standing in front of it typing is a man in a black shirt and jeans, his black hair tussled just a bit as he works. Tracy gives a gesture to the man, "Director Harrison Wells. I'll let him take over this part of the tour." She steps back to the entryway.

The man gives a glance back briefly, "I apologize for the delay. We've had a bit of a miscalculation for one of the tests and I need to re calibrate one of the farms. Just a moment." His hands play over the console in a well practiced manner for a few more seconds, before he turns around and looks the group over with a small smile, "I'm Harrison Wells, Director for his facility." Harrison starts to walk over, adjusting his eyeglasses briefly, "I'm sure you all have... many questions." He pauses, as if searching for the right phrase, "here, we're working on the next step in computing. Miniaturization of nanoscale transistors. We're one of many research institutions working on the new step." His hands fold in front of himself as he looks the group over, "who knows? One of you might be the one to bring it to the world." He gives a warm smile.
Deanna Dove Peregrine raises her hand. "Why have you devoted your life's work to studying this Speed Force? Isn't that what gives the Flash his powers? Isn't there... far more pressing scientific advances that one could make?"
Alek Alek tries to muster a question but he's currently in awe of being in the presence of the Doctor. He simply stands and sort of just stares there as Peregrine asks her question.
Professor Zoom Some of the others in the tour mutter slightly and look at Deanna with confused expression, but Harrison just looks at Deanna and gives an amused laugh, "Well, here's one young lady who doesn't like making appointments!" Harrison grins to her, "it's a bit off topic, but I can answer that." He gestures behind himself to the central node computer, then looks back to Deanna. "That machine harnesses electricity as a means to an end. A fundamental part of our reality, used for the benefit of humanity." He brings out his hands in an explaining gesture, "what can the Speed Force provide us? We know that some metahumans use it to power their abilities... but what else can we use it for? Is it only limited to certain individuals, or can we access it for more?"

A moment later, and he looks the rest of the group over, "these and many other questions are what we ask at Future Solutions. We don't wait for others to tell us what is possible. We find out for ourselves."
Deanna Dove Peregrine goes quiet for now as she nods slowly, considering. How does this scientist harness such an esoteric elemental force of nature? Perhaps it's time to investigate this building in further detail.
Alek Alek raises a hand, as he waits to be called on.. though he's definitely on the verge of blurting out.
Professor Zoom When Deanna goes silent, Harrison gives a smiling nod to her. Alek, on the other hand, gives a finger pointed at him, before Harrison crosses his arms, "go ahead."
Alek Alek says, "Well, two things Doctor. "It's an honor to meet you, I think your a man very similar to Nikolai Tesla, a man who envisioned the future." he scratches the back of his head, his slight 'bowing' getting a bit worse as he continues, "I've read your papers on nanoscale transistors, it's amazing you've been able to create them in the first place. The atomic structures are so small, you must have some very impressive visualization devices to make them."

"Sorry, a third thing, what did you hope to do with utilizing their calculating power is this regarding your 'Speed Force' project or just general projects over all?""
Deanna Dove Peregrine is listening to Alek's question - and he's far more of a science buff than she. The only science stuff she's up on is aerodynamics - and a working but immature knowledge of this Speed Force. She stays quiet for now - maybe she can learn something.
Professor Zoom There's a moment as Alek talks that Harrison brings up a hand to his chin and rubs it in a 'I'm thinking' gesture... before he gives a nod, "I'm afraid most of our Speed Force projects would fall under secrecy clauses and require you to sign an NDA. We can discuss that after the tour if you'd like." Harrison replies, "nanoscale transistors were before my time, I'm afraid, but we have had a hand in refining the process." He smirks, "there may be a few patents involved."

Then, he turns around and gestures over the computer farms, "right now, this section of Future Solutions represents the bulk of our computing power, and as such it's under heavy guard." He starts to walk over to the central node, "This is the main interface right here, where we handle most tasks. There's a holographic suite built into the room when we need to use fine motor skills, but for the most part, we use this console. It's more power efficient and typing in commands is easier with holographic keyboard technology."

Tracy finally pipes in, "when you're all ready to move on, I can take you to the last lab."
Alek Alek nods, "Thanks for talking to us Doctor." he offers his hand, "Pleasure to meet you... Honor to meet you." he nervously adds, "Hope your... research..day.. goes well."
Deanna Dove Peregrine nods as she is simply looking around at everything. Remembering it. She will come back in a few days to see what the Speed Force knowledge is really about. Maybe she can learn something.
Professor Zoom "I'm afraid we're going to have to wrap this part of the tour up. We've got to shut down a few of the farm nodes. Tracy can see you all out." Harrison finally states after a minute. Some of the teenagers grumble, but all in all, it was a successful tour.

When everyone leaves, Harrison glances in the direction of the door, "interesting..." he mutters, before going back to the console.
