Owner Pose
Modred Modred felt it faintly at first. It is something he has not felt since he arrived in this time. It was a family heirloom, left to him as a youngest son as his portion. He had used it accidentally as a child to focus his magic...a use of power that attracted Gervais to train him and take the young Modred as an apprentice. He Has passed beyond such childish foci now, but it is his, and may be the only thing left of his family treasures. He has come to seek it out. Something to his surprise, it is on display in what they call a museum. He is in a bit of a heated debate with the a museum guard about it, "It is MINE thou simpleton, because it was given to me by my father and to him by his father before him. Yes it is a Roman artifact, the Romans Were gone but a few years before my Grandfather wast born...."
Caim     Caim was in the museum and watches the heated debate between the guard and the man claiming the treasure to be his. He walks around them and leans on his cane. "I think the man is trying to say without proof of it being yours, you could claim everything to be yours as being dishonest." Caim says, his accent a little unknown.
Ekaterina Vespucci Ekaterina was already in the museum her eyes drawn to a gladius which was actually older than she was but not by a whole great deal. She admires the craftsmanship even if its state was that of rusted disrepair. Then the altercation occurs. Unlike Caim Kat has no desire to interject her opinion. If the man was trying to claim ownership of one of the antiquities and was genuine then the number of ancient beings in New York that she was aware of was multiplying. But it is more likely that this is just another crazy. She was crazy enough herself. She'd had her fill of crazy. She moves further away discretely. Few would notice the small girl in her frumpy outfit her one notable feature the ground gazing large cornflower blue eyes with which she furtively glances at the confrontation.
Professor Zoom The sound of glass breaking could be heard from far away. It was the first sign of the sonic boom that accompanied Professor Zoom going supersonic in an instant. Closer and closer, until it hit an alarm in the museum.

The siren wailed just as the red lightning trail came around a corner in the far hall. With barely a second passing before Professor Zoom was in front of the focus. Seeing Modred in front of it though with his enhanced reaction speed, the man in the yellow suit was a blur as he went to the opposite side of the hallway instead, not having touched anything yet.

Red, glowing eyes and a blurred visage greet staff, Modred, Ekaterina, and Caim as the Speedster sits there, red energy sparking and arcing around his form. He's visibly breathing, his hands in fists as he observes.
Modred Modred tends to interpret things in ancient fantasy terms, and that is true with Zoom as well, "A Djinni! Some rival hast conjured a Djinn against me. Air now listen to mine plee, be solid about yon Djinni!" Modred has some limitations, notably most spells of dimensional magic are generally not something he will use, because the Darkhold is his only source for them. Therefore, an invocation of the elements is his first choic, Djinni are spirits of air and fire, if cut off from the air their powers are limited.
Caim     Caim takes in a breath and soon glass breaking is heard and he looks around. He turns to see the yellow suited figure with glowing red eyes and arcing red electricity surrounding him. "Interesting.... You seem to possess the same characteristics of the flash. Oh how I would love to study you and learn just how you can go so fast...I am afraid though you are unwilling to be a labrat. You another hero?" He says as he watches the man, studying him.
Ekaterina Vespucci "Oh hell no," says Kat. "More of this bullshit." Her mind drifted back to a recent incident she was involved in in Mutant town. One that almost had her considering joining an Anti-mutant march even though she was a mutant. Can't she have even a moments peace? Standing as far back as possible she continues to bear witness to the disaster. She had a reputation for causing catastrophes indeed the term Kat-tastrophe had been coined for her. But here she was rapidly being upstaged.
Modred Zoom finds a strange phenomenon, the air about him is suddenly as solid as if he were encased in amber. He can still move, vibrating between the air molecules at it were, but the solid air follows him about causing him to knock things away from him before he can touch them. Modred is puzzeled that his spell is acting differently than he expected, this must be a Djinni of great power.
Professor Zoom It takes a moment for Professor Zoom to realize what was going on... and what Modred seemed to be. Superfast mental processes calculate the air composition and the likelihood of vortex manipulation being useful in a split second. Seeing it cling to him, Professor Zoom runs /right into a pillar/ and vibrates through it, phasing so he forces the spell to find a target that isn't there.

"You're a fool running around pretending you understand the world around you." The distorted voice of Professor Zoom echoes through the museum from... somewhere. "Though you might be an interesting fool." Red lightning trails behind Professor Zoom for a moment as the security guards showing up suddenly have their necks all broken, Professor Zoom having done it so fast that it looks instant.

Then, he returns to stand in front of Caim, who is already lifted by a hand to his neck by the man in the yellow suit, "I'm not the Flash. Some would say I'm the reverse... but you can call me Professor Zoom." Red lightning arcs over his arm as he tosses Caim across the hallway like a ragdoll dozens of feet. He doesn't seem interested in Ekaterina at least, his attention is kept on Caim, "what do you think I am?" The Speedster mocks.
Modred Modred has been studying the magical creatures of this era, the so called supers. He at least knows who the Flash is. He ponders... whatspell can he cast t whatcould deal with this creature? He tries a different spell, invoking the Fae Magic of the Tuatha de Danu, "As time passes in the Land of the Young, let this moment for Zoom be hung." A night in t whatland may last a century, perhaps Zoom can be slowed down...
Caim     Caim is thrown and slams against the wall. "Professor Zoom." Caim mutters as he goes to stand up and recover his cane. "I will remember that. Maybe we can work together against the flash." Caim says as he watches the man and studies the red electricity. Clearly zoom is taping into some sort of powersource but what is something caim cant figure out.
Ekaterina Vespucci "Alright time to exit stage right," Kat mutters to herself. The powered whackos are between her and the main exit unfortunately. She does not know the layout of the museum or she would pick a more discrete exit out the back. It seems everyone here has a 'dance partner' apart from her and that suited her just fine. She preferred wallflowering any day of the week. Plus -her dancing- to extend the analogy it wasn't pretty. She quietly makes her way past them all hugging the wall - praying a silent prayer (nice Catholic girl that she was) that she wouldn't be noticed by anybody crazy enough to attack or accost her.
Professor Zoom The spell works. Modred can tell that easily.

Unfortunately for him though... Professor Zoom has been holding back, even at the instant speeds he's been using. To his naked eye, there is practically no difference between the regular and slower speed he's in now: He's so naturally fast that slowing him down didn't matter in the least.

When it became clear that Ekaterina was trying to leave, Professor Zoom stopped for a second between her and the nearest exit, watching her... before red lightning trails in a blur as started to head back to Modred. "Undo this now, or I will end you." Professor Zoom snarls, the red lightning arcing over his body coming a /lot/ faster, now that he's compensating for the spell.
Ekaterina Vespucci Ekaterina is transfixed for a moment in pure panic as Professor Zoom notices her - but relaxes as he disregards her. Finally she makes it to the exit and speeds away as fast as her small legs can take her. Best leave this to the authorities whoever they may be in this situation.
Caim     Caim moves to stand. While zoom is distracted He raises his cane and pushes a button. A loud explosion is heard as a high powered round goes flying to the air towards zoom. Already the man is taking his cane apart to reload hoping to get it done before zoom dodges the bullet and tries to kill him.
Modred Modred realizes that his spell is insufficient. Either he needs to draw upon the great and terrible magicks imparted to him by the cursed book...or rethink his strategy. The latter is probably the better course. He says, "As you wish. Let Zoom again in time be free, undone be the curse on thee."
Professor Zoom For Professor Zoom, the high powered round is heard the instant it leaves the cane barrel. His reflexes would allow him to pluck it out of the air if he so desired. Instead, there's a flash of red as the bullet nears him as red energy arcs away from his body briefly, turning the round to ash before it gets near him.

He didn't even have to turn around for his Negative Speed Force aura to burn the bullet.

Another moment passes, and Professor Zoom is near the focus in a blur of red lightning, "this is something that'd require a magician to use." The Speedster arrives at the conclusion as he examines it briefly.
Modred Modred replies, "Aye, indeed, I so enchanted it when I was but a youth, though I knew not what I did. I could, mayhap, impart a bit of my magic to it so that others might use it, but it would not last long had they no power of their own." There is a slight touch of pride in his voice, it was fairly good magic, for a rank amature.
Caim     Caim finishes reloading the cane and aims it at zoom. He then pulls the trigger to open fire on zoom again. This round was the same as before: high powered, probably meant to be a sniper's round. Still it travels at high speeds for zoom, though not high enough speeds.
Professor Zoom This time, instead of allowing the bullet to burn to ash in his aura... Professor Zoom grabs the round out of midair with two fingers, before he twists in place, sending the round back at Caim with an instant flick of his wrist. It's not a deadly accurate toss, but the speed that he throws it guarantees the round going far faster then the speed the round was originally fired, and goes right through Caims head. "Primitives always think their crude slugthrowers have a point against me."

When Modred replies to him though, those red glowing eyes watch the magician briefly, before he superspeeds away in a blur of red lightning.

Multiple murders and a 'gunshot' to one persons head, along with plenty of broken glass. What a mess.
Modred Modred can do little for the dead...well at least he permits himself to do little. There ARE things he could do, but they are vile. Modred does, however, not like leaving things a mess. (not knowing about forensics, he is going to clean up) First, the Glass, "Child of fire and of earth, scattered like a passing storm, let this be thy rebirth, resume thy proper form!" Instantly all the glass springs back into place and reforms as intact panes. He continues, "Blood return to your place, het wounds be sealed, bones and tissues ment, let the living be healed!" He is not certain this will work, but he has heard that those who seem dead may be brought back within what is called the golden hour.
Caim     Caim gets gets shot in the head and his brain blows out of his skull partially. He falls over, dead to the world. However whats happening is the blood isnt flowing out of the wound but rather closing around the injury. It takes a minute but soon, Caim coughs as he holds his head. the hole healing almost instantly. "Damn it I hate being shot in the head. Leaves me with a headache for a few days." He growls out as he looks to Zoom and to Modred.
Modred Modred looks over at Caim and mutters, "Odd, I would have thought those wounds beyond mine power to heal."
