Dracula A strange mist floats down the train tunnels and is blown into the Manhattan Subway Station by an oncoming train. The brief bit of artificial wind is enough to send the mist swirling near Selene where it remains hovering. There isn't anyone else down here at the moment as it is late and few people are travelling.
Selene Selene had left her motorcycle several city blocks down after her investigation she intended to go and retrieve it, which she was in the process of doing now. It is late and she's waiting for the proper train to arrive. Her eyes are glancing left and right, occassionally down to her smart phone as well as she's sending messages back and forth between her lieutenants who're out in force tonight dealing with a Lycan threat to a safehouse where some of their allies are residing. Its the mist that makes Selene's pale blue eyes raise up and she stares at it for a moment, a lingering moment before she turns and starts to walk away.
Dracula The mist swirls and rises towards the station's ceiling, gathering there for a moment before it suddenly rushes past Selene and into a dark corridor. The shape of a man rises and takes a few steps forward. He has red eyes in contrast to Selene's blue eyes. Fur and claws retract as he steps out of the shadows, his transformation completely reverting to his "human" form. His accent is British surprisingly, "Hunter of werewolves aren't you?" The figure cross his arms downward in front of him, "I have watched you hunt as a soldier would, as a young vampire would serve her coven. But you are much too old to be following orders. I am intrigued.. is it the bloodlust that compels you? Or is it a more sophisticated sense of duty? You are old enough to remember what true honor is and it is my hope that this is what drives you Selene. Do you know who -I- am?"
Selene Selene sensed him a moment before he stepped into the open and she came to a quick halt in her motion, pausing now to watch him as he emerges and listens as he speaks to her. She has a strange experience when watching him, a 'chill' inside her she'd never felt before. "Perhaps." She eventually replies to his words. "The only orders that I follow are the standing orders of my people. Protect our own." She's confident in her words, but he would likely know that she ultimately serves the will of the slumbering warlord Viktor who's been in a long hibernation.

Does she know its him? She doesn't say yet, she does put her phone away though and her hands rest now at her sides. "My duty is to them, my coven and our war to provide us with safety from our enemies."
Dracula Dracula nods, "Your Father, Viktor is one of my sons. I am Vlad Tepes III, King of the Black Court, and heir to the sirehood of you all. There was one before.. you are too old to be naive enough to believe that I was physically the first. But the power of the First runs in my veins. I am He in all but body. So few of us have your caution, your power. Most vampires do not live long enough to know the benefits and the curse that is immortality. But I see that you do not spend your time lounging in clubs, giving in to base gluttony. You have a higher purpose.. much like I do. I wouldn't dream of compelling you to serve me Selene, in fact I want you to keep doing what you will."

"You have earned it simply by surviving as long as you have. Instead I wonder how.. much this region of North America would change with you as its' Black Court Elder. I know that rulership does not interest you in the way that it interests others, otherwise you would have dived headlong into the politics of your coven. Haven't you noticed that the same faces remain there? The youngest die so young.. turned merely to be pawns. The promise of power and immortality is intoxicating after all, but whether they are killed by mortals, lycans, or something else, few of us survive to be even one century old. I don't believe that you want to lead in the way that your Father does, and I am sure that you've been pressed to take a greater role in the aristocracy, but do you not know that there are other Courts in North America? Courts who care nothing for lycans but would rather see our Court wiped out?"
Selene He has the regality about him, the 'age' that is stamped upon the way that he moves and speaks. He's not new blood by any means, he's old... very old. But older than even Marcus? She does have trouble believing him, but his movements and style are one of... a commanding presence.

"I've never had any desire to lead a Coven." She replies to him. "Or sit on the Council. My goals have been quite simple, ever since I was brought into this world." To kill the Lycans. They'd killed her family prior to Viktor turning her. The revenge was deeply imprinted upon her... even if she has no idea that it was Viktor who actually killed her family.

But what were her plans for herself once she accomplished her goal? Rumors had it that the Lycans were growing thin in numbers and that they'd migrated here to the United States in a bid to turn more powerful humans into Lycans... such as Mutants or Meta-Humans, if they could get them on their side the Lycan-kind may stand a greater chance against the Vampires and Selene's Death Dealers.

"Politics between Courts bore me, quite frankly. My Coven has stopped harming humans." Which was MOSTLY true, some of her people were idiots however and still sought a human meal now and again--punishment dealt where deserved when such things happened. "We simply seek peace amongst ourselves. To 'be' without being slaughtered. This remains my goal. Until I see it through." She says back to him, her electric blue eyes remaining on that of his contrasting reds.
Dracula Dracula grins, "I want you to taste my blood Selene. I want you to see what I have seen, to know that I am who I say that I am. This is not something that I have ever offered another before, but I know your power, and I know that you can keep the balance of power in this region. As such I want you to know me as only I know myself. Swear to me upon you honor that you will keep what you see to yourself however, and I shall give you the story of my life."
Selene The sound of a subway train can be heard down the tunnel and a speaker talks of what train is coming, but Selene's attention is entirely upon this mysterious man who'd just materialized in a dark corner she knew was empty only moments before. "The blood we drink is synthesized." She tells him. "It satiates our desires and keeps us from harming others in pursuit of the bloodlust." He likely knows this if he truly is who he claims to be, a name she knew of, but a name she rarely heard spoken of any more.

When the train arrives, Selene glances over to it and allows it a moment to settle in. The doors open and the only life inside it are some homeless people who're only riding the train to find a place to sleep.

She sweeps her gaze back over to him then. "I'm at a loss as to why you find me to be of interest to you, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious to know more about you." He clearly had some power, but how much?
Dracula Dracula laughs, "Yes I know of this synthesized blood. It is a marvel and it has kept our kind from being discovered in the modern era. To not have to hunt was once a luxury afforded to only the wealthiest of our kind. But Selene you have my interest because you are different. Petty political seats do not interest you. You know that your destiny is far greater than a pointless vote. Your blade and your firearm are the extensions of your will. Viktor cannot deny my will, however I would not order him anymore than I would order you. He too has earned his peace." Dracula's thumbnail grows into a claw and he cuts his left forearm, causing dark red blood to flow from the wound, "What say you? Just see what I have seen. That is all I ask."
Selene Selene's pale eyes remain on the elder man as he speaks these words and makes these motions. She seems to be conflicted on the inside as she processes all that he says, but the offer of his blood is one of interest to her, she doesn't fear its effect, merely fears what she might learn from it. Information can be a great burden.

Without a verbal respose though she steps toward him and she reaches out to take hold of his hand on the arm he'd just injured. She looks from the wound to his eyes and then back to the wound. Within a moment later she's raising his arm up and pressing it to her lips to sample that which he'd offered her... and within a few moments after that she is starting to take a step backward as her eyelids slip shut and her chin lowers down toward her collarbone.
Dracula Dracula offers his arms to Selene and allows her to drink....
Selene Selene releases his arm after she tastes the blood and she feels the experiences rush into her mind. She seems to have an elevated anxiousness to her physical mannerisms and as the information is a lot to process for her. He's a creature of great experience and a rich history that somehow seems familiar to her. She was turned by Viktor because she reminded him of his deceased daughter. She'd become somewhat of a replacement to Viktor in that regard, even though it was a role she wasn't sure she was capable of playing she'd... done her best all these years.

His sorrow lingers inside her mind as her eyes raise once more up to look at his. She keeps her lips parted while she breathes a bit heavily and then she shakes her head back and forth. "You are who you say you are." She tells him then. "I see that now." Her right hand comes up then to touch at her lips and dab at them lightly with fingertips before she lowers it again to her side. "What would you have of me then?" She has to ask him. She's still surprised he'd find any interest in her. She's the leader of the Death Dealers... but she's no... Amelia of the New World Coven, or anyone else on the council. Its just a hard thing to realize someone so, historic would find someone who believes they're just a soldier, to be important.
Dracula Dracula grins again, as if reading her thoughts, but it is mere coincidence when he speaks, "Viktor saw his daughter in you. I saw my wife in Mena. This is the curse of immortality and Vikor understands this all too well. Eventually you will find the doppleganger of the person you loved most. It is the most bitter pain to endure because even if this person does not die, they are still not the one you loved, merely a replacement. That does not mean that Viktor does not love you, it simply means that you have not cured his pain. His pain is as great as my own. The pain of that loss never fades and you have felt that loss through me. You understand your Father now more than you did before. Please remember that pain when you interact with him, it will strengthen your bond. You will hear the pain in his every word even as he tries to hide it."

Dracula continues, "I want you to discretely hunt members of the Red Court. Leave the White Court alone for now. They are far more political in nature and are of no threat to us physically. It is the Red Court you must target, these pale imitations of undead prowess. They are monsters through and through, even more than we are. Cut open their bellies or expose them to sunlight and they will fall to you. Keep in mind that they will not die instantly if you choose to cut them open, it merely causes their blood to spill, so followup with decapitation if you can so that they keep bleeding out long enough to be destroyed. I hope that we can come to some accord with the White Court, they are more like us than the Red Court is, far more able to be civil for one. What do you think of this offer Selene?"
Selene Selene stands there just a few feet away from him, her eyes are on him as her chin is still angled slightly down though, with her dark hair framing her pale face on either sides. She listens to his words and then as she's about to speak the subway train starts to pull out of station again so she just stares until it is gone down the tunnel, then she speaks once more.

"I will have to investigate them." She says to the Vampire Lord. "Your desire for them... die... can't be enough for me to suddenly start killing them. I'll need reasons or I'll get targetted by my own people. They'll say I've gone rogue, and issue me a traitor. If I have a sound reason for these Red Court members to perish, then I can provide it and... it will be so. More trouble for my people to deal with, but we're more than capable of handling it." She has a great deal of pride in her contingent of Death Dealers, they're the best of them all across the planet. This is why she was summoned to New York, to deal with the growing problems here.
Dracula Dracula does not appear disppleased, "They are not us. They are vampires but they are not of our lineage. However I understand your caution, it is one of the traits that has allowed you to survive for so long Selene. My word alone will not convince your coven that they are our enemy. After all they would not simply believe that you truly spoke to me. That is why I let you drink of my blood, so that you would know. But your coven must be convinced by other means. Red Court vampires can disguise themselves as human so that their.. gargoyle-like shape remains hidden. But they compete with us more than the White Court does, for reasons that you will learn soon enough if you do not know already. The Red Court is truly a blight and if your coven agrees to a semi-crusade against them in this region, I can meet with the White Court and.. gently create a truce. North America is largely under their control. Europe is still ours of course, however we cannot simply leave North America as you know. The White Court is more useful as loose allies than as enemies. If we can cultivate such a relationship, it would serve us best. You will find that Red Court vampires have an appearance just as gruesome as any lycan. All it would take is one slip up on their part to reveal the existence of vampires. They should not be allowed to operate in cities."
Selene Selene glances down the station to the far end where a group of drunken college kids are coming down the staircase. They're a good fifty yards away though so its no real disturbance to see and her conversation partner here... they'll likely not even notice or see them this far down. She sweeps her stare back over to him then and she dips her chin once to his words.

"I will bring this information to my people, we'll discuss it and we'll see where it goes from there. If they are what you say, then its likely my people already know some of it... if not more." Amelia specifically, is who Selene is speaking of, Amelia being the person who is currently telling Selene where to focus her Death Dealers, though ultimately its up to Selene to decide that stuff. Generally those two things fall side by side though.

"Leave it to America to complicate things this much further." She offers a bit of European opinion the 'the States'. "How might i contact you again for further conference?" She then asks him.
Dracula Dracula nods, "If you will allow it, I can speak with you telepathically. You are far too old to be my puppet after all. Unlike the whelps of our kind you have earned your independence from my blood.. largely. But it still has benefits if you choose to use them. I can enter your thoughts without drinking your blood if you wish me to. I cannot control you unless you allow me to. That is one of the benefits of an elder's willpower. You may wonder why I tell you these things, but rest assured that it would not matter if those too weak to resist me were aware of my power. They would be helpeless if I chose to wield them."
Selene Selene remains mostly motionless after he says these things to her and she considers it for a hnadful of seconds before she nods a single time. "If there is good reason for you to speak to me in this way then I will accept it." She tells him. Her head does shake side to side though. "But do not take liberties with me, I haven't the tiem nor the inclination to be... mistreated." Its that fire in her that he likely saw that made him come to her in the first place. She's intimidated by the Elder Vampires but she's not afraid to speak up for herself, to demand to be treated with respect to even him. She nods her head once to him again. "I'll begin to look into what you've told me here tonight and should you have more to say to me, then... I suppose you will just say it now."
Dracula Dracula nods, "I cannot enter your mind unless you allow me to, even if I wished it. I have nothing to gain by controlling you. If I preferred direct action, I would act myself after all. But I have other matters to attend to and you are the most suited for this task. All you must do is reach out to me when you are ready and I will speak to you. Beyond that I have no hold on your mind because you have outgrown my.. direct guidance. For now that is all I intended to tell you."

He adds however, "The other night when you were.. ambushed by bats in the train station. That was me, merely testing your nerves. I was not disappointed. There is much that vampires of our Court are capable of, however most never learn the deeper mysteries of unlife. Viktor is as wise as he is strong, however the long years of torpor have not allowed him to learn of these mysteries. The sleep cycle of your coven's elders have kept you safe and you are to be commended for such innovation, however one cannot learn as they sleep. Consider that if you ever do decide to take a position of aristocratic authority."
Selene Selene's pale eyes glance in the way of the tunnels. She'd been in them when the bats had come at her, something they'd never done before. So to have this knowledge about why they'd done it then, was enlightening at least. She sweeps her gaze back to him then and dips her chin once more. The next subway train pulls into station then and those drunken teenagers board it about halfway down the station's lane behind her.

"Duely noted." Selene says to him then. "I hope this will be a beneficial relationship for us both." She doesn't speak his name, his name is a name that comes with great weight and its not one she'd lightly utter. "If there's nothing else you'll need of me then, I believe this is my train..." She glances over at it before looking back to him. "This has been an interesting meeting, one that I'll be thinking quite a lot about." She says in her own European accented English, her voice fluid and enticing a lot like how his own is.
Dracula Dracula nods with a grin, "It will be beneficial regardless of your coven's decision. I would not dream of taking you from them. I have enough blind servants and eager sycophants. What I want from you is something that can only come from surviving as long as you have without even knowing that I exist. Perhaps there are things that I can teach you. Keep hunting the lycans, they breed faster than even our most careless kindred, and as you know an infestation can take weeks to root out."
Selene "Indeed it can." Selene responds to the elder vampire lord, and she allows her gaze to linger on him a moment longer because of the notoriety that he holds amongst her people. He's a legend, quite literally. But she takes her stare from him then after affording him another respectful nod and then she turns and moves toward the train's nearest set of open doorways. She sweeps herself onboard and turns to take hold of one of the hanging metal rings to support herself during the trains traveling motions. She glances back his way once the doors close behind her, expecting him to be long gone however by then.
Dracula Dracula is indeed gone when she turns to look at him again, never staying long in one place, it is one reason why he is but a myth. Selene was the only one to see his face tonight and that was no accident.
