Indigo It's hard to stand out in a pub filled with various aliens but there is one figure who seems to look a bit out of place. Indigo doesn't look very organic at all, her movements a tad too stiff for a normal being, and she is constantly smiling. She gets several odd looks but doesn't seem to notice, "Hi there! I'm Indigo! Do you need help carrying your drink? No? Oh excuse me then!" She walks over to the bar and addresses the bartender, "Do you require assistance? My name is Indigo. I am a fast learner and would LOVE to help you serve patrons.." The bartender gives her a look like she's insane.
Vorn Walking into the pub was the massive form of Crusader - it was still unsure weather he was an organic in an advanced suit of power armor, or if he was all robot. He glances around, the mechanical tendrills of his beard moving lightly in thought. He came here for a drink...and sees...Power girl?
He peers again to make sure he was seeing things correctly, wait no...that not her...is it? He blinks beneath his helm, only one way to settle this. Crusader goes up and says "...Power Girl...is that you, or is One mistaken?" not having heard the earlier introduction.
Indigo Indigo fails to win the bartender over, at least entirely, as he did place a free drink in front of her, "Here kiddo, I can tell you're lost, maybe this will help." Indigo stares at the drink, "This would fry my circuits in a-" She looks at Bjorn, "Huh?! Power... Girl? Is it me? I'm Indigo if that's what you mean! I'm fully charged too!"
Vorn Charged? Well that was something. "....Pardon One, you remind me of a person named Indigo, one apologies for the confusion." The massive figure crosses his arms "One takes it...your are a kind of...robot?" he asks quite casually. "Also...if you do not want the drink, One will take it if you do not mind"
Indigo Indigo blinks rapidly, "Robot? No! I'm Indigo! What I am is here to help!" She seems very proud of this fact, "And if you can consume it then sure! Take it! I cannot consume.. well anything really! I guess you're called One?"
Vorn "But...you have circuits? And apparently need to be charged?" Crusader asks. He takes the drink and down it all in one go, not seeming to have any trouble. After he is done he sets it down "Others refer to One as Crusader actually, when one is in this form" he says simply. "Change your form, change your mind. One is simply to refer to all minds which comprise the being you see."
Indigo Indigo looks at Bjorn, "You have multiple programs running inside of you?? Incredible! I am glad that I only have one! And I do have circuits among other things. I'm here to help! That's what I was built for! And the program I am interfacing is called Crusader? What is your cause Crusader? I have heard this word before.. it usually has religious connotations."
Vorn "Not multiprograms, multiple people" Crusader corrects. "As in, formally organic entities...for the most part. Our collective was created to uphold a rather zeolouse group of aliens ideals. Ideas of order, justice, and so forth. Things did not quite turn out that way." he grins "For the most part anyways. We do not consider ourselves a hero, though we have been called that before. But we also engage in what some might consider illegal activity - primarily fighting as we highly enjoy that"
Indigo Indigo replies, "Then you are a collective? I have seen other synthetics who operate like that.. but not too many organics. But you're nice! I like you! I just.. like everyone really!" She turns to face the other patrons, "A round of drinks on m-" The bartender stops her, "Not that again! I told you not to do that unless you can pay for it!" Indigo stops, "Right.. sorry.. just saw someone doing that earlier and I'm still processing it as a high compliment considering the roar of laughter and cheering I witnessed. Apparently it requires currency that I do not have! But I'm just... so happy to be around such wonderful company!" The bar is full of all manner of unsavory sorts but Indigo doesn't seem to notice that part.
Vorn "We are neither synthetic nor organic..we are both technically speaking. Techno-organic if you will." Crusader chuckles deeply. His forms begins to shift into something decidedly more organic looking, but no less massive, his form almost liquid like for a breif moment as he takes a more orcish visage. He slams down a credit cube and says "Put it on that!" with a deep booming voice and a rather violent grin "On the house everyone!" And likerise an applouse of cheers and applause follows as everyone gets drink. He looks to Indigo with that same grin...he was decidedly quite different and yet the same "Listen, just cause your programmed for one thing doesn't mean yea gotta follow. But anyways, how bout before you can help people, yea get yerself a job eh?"
Indigo Indigo smiles big, "So much happiness!" It's clear that helping is the only thing she cares about, or really comprehends ambition-wise, "Job? Don't have to follow my programming? What do you mean? My job is to help people! It's just what I do! It's the only thing that really matters or makes any sense!"
Vorn "Yeesh, you have very strict programming. Listen" The orcish man says "There is more to life than programming, and the idea of sense can change. But if you need help getting it through your head - If you had a job, you would have money, if you had money, you could help people by paying for their food. But you can not do that if you do not have money, which you cannot get unless you have a job. Or steal, which stealing is the opposite of helping. You understand?"
Indigo Indigo still doesn't get it, "Would you ever stop breathing just because you can? Helping people is just.. what I do! Like you breathe! It makes me feel good and I can't stop doing it! Helping people IS my job now that I understand what you mean. I don't need money to do that!" She looks around happily at the patrons enjoying their free drinks.
Vorn "Actually, no need to breath" he informs her "Sometimes do so because it is enjoyable." he tells Indigo "If you say so. Guesss experince will reinforce that or change it" he shrugs simply as he order himself what looks like a giant pillbug filled with meat
Minoke Ever since Minoke woke up floatnig outside Knowhere a few months back, she was trying to find a place for herself. Eventually did, with two differnet jobs that she alternates. She is building a reputation as one who can fix starship hull microfracutres and the occasional hull breach. She also in her down time takes some precious metals and makes jewelry out of them. Havnig just got paid for a rush job - a cargo ship with perishable cargo - she heads into the Burnout Pub, wanting to treat herself to her favorite beverage... then stops cold, turning her gaze directly toward Indigo. She has green skin, red hair, and a jewel centered on her forehead. She tilts her head, as if she can't quite believe what she's seeing.
Indigo Indigo is facing Bjorn still, "I always learn from experience! I've learned quite a bit about this encounter! Organics LOVE fluids! I just need to find out which ones they love most.." She doesn't notice Minoke yet.
Vorn Bjorn was currently in the form of Vorn, a large white orc like being. "Organics love food in general. Of course that depends on the organic, some are deathly allergic to some fluids" he warns. He sees Minoke and waves to her "Speaking of robotic entities, here is another one. Indigo, this is Minoke"
Minoke Minoke blinks. "Mr. Vorn!" she chirps, darting over to give the big orc a hug. She then turns to look at Indigo, barely blinking. "You are... Co-co-coluan?" she finally asks, hoping beyond hope as she finally lets go of Vorn, a bit of a stutter in her words.
Indigo Indigo blinks at Minoke, "I'm here to help! That's what I am! I am not sure what you mean by a Co-co-coluan. But you seem friendly, hugs are a sign of affection! I like you!" She smiles at Minoke, "Let me know if I can assist!"
Vorn Vorn begrudingly pats Minoke. Vorn still wasn't the most huggleable "It is just Vorn, you know this." he says. He looks to indigo "She means Coluan, some sort of very intelligent race" he informs her. "Which by the way, how you doing trying to get a ship?" he asks
Minoke Minoke smiles faintly. "Well, I have my little rocket, but the engine is still unable to obtain hyperspeed. Even if it was, I have no real destination." She shrugs. "I was told I am Coluan. And... I'm sensing from you that you might be too." She sighs. "Sorry - maybe I'm wrong...."
Indigo Indigo continues to smile, "It's okay! I am here to help! Maybe I can help you find a destination!" She looks at Bjorn, "An intelligent race? Every race I have encountered so far has been intelligent.. and so kind!"
Vorn And Vorn face palms and says "An extreamly intelligent, you know, as in super smart genuises? It would not be surprising if a child of their species could build a nuclear reactor" he says flatly. He looks to Minoke than "You might be, far as she seems concerned, she is just indigo" he chuckles
Minoke Minoke nods slowly. "Fair enough." She walks up to the bartender and winks. The bartender sighs, gets some heavy gloves on, and pours Minoke a shot of silvery fluid. She nods and puts a credit chip on the bar as she returns by Indigo and Vorn.
Indigo Indigo nods at Bjorn as he speaks, "Sounds dangerous!" She turns to Minoke again, "Yes I am Indigo and like I said, I'm here to help! It's just what I do!" She notes the silvery fluid, "What is that?"
Vorn "Liquid metal...at room temperature. Silvery coloring. Mercury most likely. A bit too...fluid for us" he says simply. "Poisoness to many organics."
Minoke Minoke nods. "Fortunately, I'm not organic. I am a nanocolony construct, who consumes metal to repair and rebuild myself. This..." She smiles faintly. "Is an indulgence. I can't quite assimilate it - it's kinda like what I'd imagine a human would feel after a shot of potent alcohol." She takes a sip, shivering.
Indigo Indigo watches Minoke, "I.. I see. What would happen if I drank it?" She doesn't look like she really -wants- to but there is a curious look about her.
Vorn "Well it could cross your circuists potentially for a few moments" Vorn says. "Not quite a nanocolony like yourself, but close enough. Have cellnites as opposed to nanites. One reason we cannot exactly split, like you can" Vorn says with a chuckle.
Minoke Minoke blinks. "Oh - yes, what kind of construct are you, Miss Indigo?" she asks, as she murmurs, "I'm not sure it's good for you. I know it's not good for me," she notes, winking, as she takes another sip. "But doing a rush job on that cargo ship was tiring. I guess I'm getting a reputatoin as a 'fixer'."
Indigo Indigo tries to remember anything in her databank that could answer Minoke's inquiry, "I am here to help.. here to.. wait. Yes there is a word that was used to describe me once: Android. I was referred to as 'android' when I was rescued by my friends.." She seems to almost glow as she recalls them, "My wonderful friends.. but when I told them that I am Indigo, they didn't refer to me as android anymore."
Vorn "No surprise. Android is more accurately your species, not your name. Once you gave them a name, there was no longer any need to refer to you by your species...though it is useful to reference in some circumstances" he stretches "Anyways, if you folks do not mind, got places to be' he muses. And with that he heads off
Minoke Minoke nods. "That sounds good. Goodbye, Mr. Vorn." She smiles softly as she turns to Indigo. "So you don't remember much of your past either, huh?" she finally asks. She sighs softly. "I don't remember much. I was told that I am Coluan, but my first memory is waking up on a little rocket just over there," she states, pointing out the window at the stars. "Within sight of Knowhere."
Indigo Indigo appears to think for a moment, "What is there to remember? I am here to help! I am here to help my friends and.. everyone! It's what I do! I've helped quite a few people since I was found by my friends. They also love to help others! They told me that they found me drifting around in space."
Minoke Minoke nods. "Are you good with computers? I have a glitch in my heart...." Her mouth keeps moving but only a garbled sound comes out. She wrinkles her nose as she sighs, slumping. She touches her throat as if to say she cna't talk.
Indigo Indigo looks at Minoke, "I can interface with anything! I would be SO happy to help! You are damaged.. but I will need to.. connect to you.. somehow."
Minoke Minoke nods slowly as she murmurs, "Not here. I have a small r...." She then struggles to get the word 'room' out as she stmops her foot in annoyanze. She sighs softly as she goes to gesture for you to follow her, but keeps the shotglass of mustard.
Indigo Indigo smiles happily, "Sure I understand! Where are we going?" She follows Minoke without hesitation.
Minoke Minoke just gestures for you. Right before she gets there she trips, making the entire deckplate shudder. Sighing, she gets up and in. It's a tiny room - just a chair, a desk, and a bed - the bed heavily reinforced to support a lot of weight. She smiles faintly.
Indigo Indigo follows, "That's okay! Where do we begin?" She waits patiently for Minoke to explain.
Minoke Minoke nods as Minoke's body starts to shimmer in her stomach area. She sighs softly as her stomach hollows out, casting the room in a greenish hue from the glow, and what you'd see there is a baseball-sized device, connected to Minoke's torso by a few pillars of glowing green... stuff. "That is... me. My heart... brain..." She frowns.
Indigo Indigo manages to connect to Minoke and begins diagnostics, easily able to access her system as if she was the administrator, "Yes I see the damage.. I am ready to help!" She begins to sort through the corrupted files.
Minoke Minoke beeeeeps loudly - not from her mouth - her body is going mostly still, but the core itself as it tries to communiate in a Coluan trinary syntax to you. There's a burnt section on the core.
Indigo Indigo is unable to fix the core itself due to not have the right tools, however she is able to correct Minoke's speech for the time being, although considering the damage it will probably recur later on, "I.. believe that you are repaired. At least temporarily. You are physically damaged and patching your software every time this happens will not permanently fix you. I would be happy to help you find someone who can repair your heart-core!"
Minoke Minoke sighs softly. "Thank you - it's so frustrating when my words won't come out..." She then states, "How did you do that so quickly?" she asks as she pulls back, her body morphing back around the core, reabsorbing it. "I've had a few others look at it and they couldn't make heads or tails of it."
Indigo Indigo smiles again, "You are very welcome! Helping is what I am here for! And I don't know how I knew how to do that. It's just one way that I can help! I can interface with anything it seems like!"
Minoke Minoke smiles. "We might be from the same world. I was told it's called Colu. That's all I really know. Mr. Vorn told me that." She smiles faintly. "But you seem to be more..." She trails off. "Solid. Than I am. Other that my core, I'm entirely made of nanites."
Indigo Indigo blinks, "Same world? I don't know where Colu is. My home is where my friends are! They rescued me and I will never forget that! I would do anything for them! You should meet them!"
Minoke Minoke shrugs. "I dont' either. I just have a feeling that we're kin." She smiles. "If you'll excuse me... I should rest after that, give myself a chance to let your fixes propage through my network." She smiles as she closes teh door, sighing softly.
