Owner Pose
Mercy Thompson      Midmorning and the shop is slow. Empty in fact. Mercy therefore is working on her latest project car, a VW Thing. She's got the hood off and is positioning an engine hoist. The big garage doors are open, and the fans are going, it being a warm fall day in New York. She's got the radio on in the shop and soem country music playing over the speakers.
Ekaterina Vespucci "Dammit Kat!" hollers a male voice as a small hatchback is pushed up to Mercy's garage. "Why don't you just buy a new one? Why don't you buy a fleet? You can afford it." The man large and strong and ex military from the looks of him is helping a small woman push the hatchback into Mercy's garage. And doing most of the work.

"But I like this car!" the small freshman looking aged woman says (looking about 19-20). She is short with black hair held tight under a loose beanie and has large cornflower blue eyes - perhaps her most appealing feature apart from her angelic little expressive face. "I even meditated on giving it a name - Bessie - or Maleagant." She looks about the garage as they get near. "Hellooo?" she hollers not seeing Mercy yet.
Mercy Thompson      Bang. "Owwww." Mercy rubs her forehead after whacking it into the engine hoist when she jerks around to see what the commotion is. She finds a rag, a blue shop paper towel in fact, to wipe her hands on as she walks over. "Can I help you?" She's wearing jeans and tshirt, and mechanics coveralls over them all, the coveralls left unbuttoned for a little more air. "Just leave it theres good enough. I can winch it inside if need be." THat's mostly aimed at the man doing all the grunt work, taking pity on him.
Ekaterina Vespucci "Gary?" the small girl says to the man.

"Thanks - I'm going outside for a cigarette," the man says.

"Candice wont approve..." the girl remarks.

"I don't f'ing care Kat!" The man says disappearing.

"Ahhh - my hatchback broke down. I don't know the model. Badge fell off years ago..." says the small girl to Mercy. "Can you fix my baby?"
Mercy Thompson "Maybe," Mercy says, going to look at the car. "I mostly work on German cars but I can work on most anything if it's not too new. I have the computers for the new german makes so I can work on them, but I don't for the newer US cars." She gets in and tries to start the car to listen to what it's doing or not doing. "What happened when it died?"
Ekaterina Vespucci "Um it exploded in black smoke from the engine - I thought it was another attempt on my life..." It's framed as a joke but the girl had been killed twice and come to life back over the last two weeks. And one time it was an assassination attempt. "Oh Sono La Contessa Ekaterina Vespucci," the girl says curtseying through her introduction in Italian, "But everyone - even my employees call me Kat so you may as well."
Mercy Thompson Mercy gives up trying to start the car. "That doesn't sound good," she says. "Oh, and I'm Mercedes Thompson, Mercy." She gets back out of the car and hmmms at it. "Well...I can look at it. I'll charge you a hundred to diagnose it, which I'll deduct from the repair cost. But lots of black smoke, and the sounds it's making when I cranked it?" Mercy shakes her head. "You're probably talking overhaul which will run about two thousand. I can look at a repacement engine if you want. That would be a little more money but it wouldn't take as long. That's the worst case," she says. "It may be soemthing not so dire...maybe a cracked head, which won't be nearly that much. Or something else. I won't really know until I really look. YOU can leave it with me for a day or two I take it?"
Ekaterina Vespucci Kat runs her hand across the bonnet, "I guess I'll be doing Uber for a while," she says cranking out her phone. "Two thousand? Gary tells me the car is not worth as much constantly. But he wants me to buy a limo and hire a driver. But I like driving and I hate ostentation. There's got to be a compromise? And I still love this little car."
Mercy Thompson Mercy laughs a bit. "No...this thing's only worht about five hundred," she says. "Sorry, but he's right about its lack of value. A limo?" Her eyebrows lift. Kat doesn't look like she has that kind of money. But of course appearances can be deceiving. "Well... Something different? I'm restoring a VW thing over there," she waves at the corner of the garage. "Fully restored it'll sell for about 17 or so. Limo? Mercedes AMG's are nice. Really nice. Not, exactly, a limo either."
Ekaterina Vespucci "I don't know - might be I need time? I'd like something more 'hungry' but I want my old ride back as well? Can you find me something like that?" The small girls cornflower blue eyes shine.
Mercy Thompson Mercy nods at what kat says. "Let me get your details and I'll look at this car and see what's really wrong with it, and I'll look around, too, for a replacement for you. I've got friends. Anway...I'll call you when I know something. 'k?"
