Owner Pose
Mercy Thompson It's two am, and Mercy would normally be sound asleep. She couldn't tonight though, so she shifted and went out as a coyote for a run through Central Park. The first few minutes were perfect...quiet, just the trail, the smell of grass and the city. Then she smelled the blood, and a more subtle bitter, dark smell that made the smell of the blood that much worse. The scene that she found would have turned her stomach in human form. She backed away silently, and ran, sprinted, home.

"Pick up the phone Johnny," Mercy muttered as she listened to the phone ring.
Johnny Blaze Johnny was presently parked on a random side of the rode, sitting idly on his motorcycle. Did he mess up by asking Mercy on a date? Well, he liked her, so at least she knows he was willing to be serious....but, you know, maybe it just-Oh, phone's ringin'. Picking up his phone, he answers it with a tiredness to his voice. "Johnny here."

He doesn't even question who in their right minds would call him at 2am....unless their initials are M and T
Mercy Thompson "Johnny," Mercy sounds relieved. "Hey...ummm, you busy? I found a ... I think I need some help and iit'd be easier to just show you."
Johnny Blaze Now Johnny was just worried. "Mercy? What's going on, are you alright?" He asks her as he's suddenly wide awake and alerted. "Where are you?" He's already putting his motorcycle into gear as he starts driving in a direction.
Mercy Thompson "Home," she replies. "Meet me at central park though, at the 307th infantry memorial." He can hear that she's moving, the sound of fabric sliding around. "It's... bad and not something the cops can handle. See you there." She hangs up. Another change...she's going to be hungry and tired later, changes this close together. A little struggling and she has the backpack with some clothes in it slung on her back. A shake to settle the pack and she's off, running to meet Johnny at the park.
Johnny Blaze Johnny nods once, talking into the phone. "Alright, I'm on my way." a small pause, before a warmth that speaks greatly of affection leaks into his voice. "Stay safe." and without hesitation, Johnny makes a full U-turn, driving to central park and following the instructions of her plea for help. He just hopes she's okay...as seen in how he shakes. in his fingrs a little bit. He's scared that Mercy isn't safe.
Mercy Thompson The coyote waits in the shadows, watching until she hears teh rumble of the bike. As the bike rumbles up, coyote Mercy steps out so she can be seen...large coyote with a bright pink backpack, hard to miss. And not running, even stranger. She yips at Johnny, then trots just off the path to a park bench. On the bench is horror. The man was probably homeless, just a bum, but now he's a ripped open corpse, blood painted liberally across the bench and surrounding ground. The exprssion on his still intact face one of utter terror, mouth frozen open in a scream.
Johnny Blaze Johnny finally arrives at the park and dismounts, moving next to Coyote Mercy and kneeling next to her as he examines the corpse. "Jesus. Looks like a demonic sacrifice....or a demon literally burst out of him." He looks at the wounds, seeing if he can find anything related to the monsters he often-times slays. Pentagrams, Vampire marks, anything in regards to a physical or spiritual tell. But he rests his hand on Coyote Mercy's back. "Did you see anything of the person that did this?"
Mercy Thompson The coyote shakes her head. She scratches in the dirt, draws a pentagram with a paw and then a few lines that might be the outline of fangs. She looks up at Johnny to see if he got the message, then takes a few steps away, looks over her shoulder at him, a few more steps...starts trotting, looks again.
Johnny Blaze Johnny looks at the pentagram with fangs in the outline, and his eyes widen. "Vampires...or, in the shittiest combination in history, vampires and demons." Johnny takes a sigh, before he stands up, and follows Mercy! She can follow the trail because the nose knows, right?
Mercy Thompson With Johnny following her Mercy speeds up. She dips her nose to the ground now and then, slwing a step or two, then picking the pace back up. South at first, then around the carousel...then back to the north, past the lake, drifting toward the edge of the park to the west, then down the sidewalk. She stops, looking back and forth...and dashes across the street onto west 106th. Then slows, sniffing carefully at the ground, lips curling back to display white fangs as the trail leads to the parking lot of a hostel.
Johnny Blaze Johnny keeps right onto the massive coyote's trail, following her as far as she went, sprinting when she did before they came to a stop at the parking lot of a Hostel. His eyes narrow as he examines his surroundings. Focus Johnny...use your senses. But it's then that the demon within gets rowdy. Zarathos was craving to be unleashed. But Johnny was the more strategic of the two.
Mercy Thompson Mercy sneezes and shaeks her head, then whines. She doesn't like what she smells. A scream rings out faint from inside. A window gets painted red in a splash on the inside.
Johnny Blaze Johnny Stares at the scream and the blood painted on that window, his eyes narrowing before he looks to Coyote-Mercy. "Stay here. You don't want to see this." His eyes start to glow with hellish fire as he walks forward. This was going to be extremely bloody for whatever evil was inside and no mercy would be had this night.

For now it was a time of vengeance.
Mercy Thompson Mercy waits for him to walk forward, and scrambles out of the pack. She shifts, out of his sight. One moment a coyote, the next a human. She scrambles in the pack and starts pulling on clothes, then follows after the Rider.

Inside the hostel it's empty, the small lobby echoing and still. Faint sounds can be heard from back in the dorm areas...sobbing from several locations. And faintly, from the far end, the wet tearing slurp sound of flesh being ripped.
Johnny Blaze Johnny doesn't see her shift back into human form. Nay, instead, he marches forward into the house of death and kicks the door down. If Mercy could see him, it's like steam was coming off of his face.

Then he hears the rip.

He bursts through the entrance at the far end, waiting to see what it was.
Mercy Thompson The sound is the corpse being torn open. A man is crouched over it, splashed with blood and worse. He looks around and giggles, covering his mouth with hsi hands like a little girl. The man stands suddenly. "You've come. Just in time friend. THere's more. Plenty," he spreads his hand in invitation, "Plenty! to go around."
Johnny Blaze Johnny experienced extreme rage as he stares down the demon. "No. The only thing plenty to go around is vengeance." Then the change happens, letting his skin melt off his body and muscles with it until only a bare skull, wreathed in hellfire flame remained, a demonic voice speaking.

"You will pay for your crimes!" To anyone who didn't know what the Ghost Rider was? This was the equivalent of the Devil
Mercy Thompson Mercy follows behind, giving plenty of room....she's not stupid. Well aybe she is but not completely crazy.

The man snaps straight, the demon inside him recognizing the Rider. Vampire's fangs grow out, canine's lengthening, and he vents a hissing roar at the Rider. The man launches at the Ghost Rider, and as he does so a blood red haze forms around his hand and the punch he swings.
Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider looks to the demon with a narrowed expression to his features as it leaps out him, the Spirit of Vengeance catching the vampire demon hybrid and taking the hit to the face...though the blow doesn't seem to do much, if anything...instead the Rider just looks at the Demon with those flaming eyes. In one move, Ghost Rider tries to slam the vampire straight through a table, roaring right in it's face a hellish roar that the entire building could probably hear.

The sound?

Ungodly.
Mercy Thompson Red flares as the demon's fist slams into Ghost Rider's face. Blood coats the Rider and sprays across the room. The vampire demon crashes through the table...and it laughs, laughs. The laughter echoes through the building just as hellish as the roar from the rider and the vampire punches again with both hands, straight up.
Johnny Blaze The Rider takes the hits once again, it's head shooting upwards....before it slowly leans back over to stare at the vampire. Eventually, the Ghost Rider will try to lift the Vampire in the air, one hand grabbing the waist and the other grabbing under the armpit, attempting to flail his arms
Mercy Thompson Mercy just stays back...Johnny was right, this is way past her.

The vampire laughs still, the hellish laughter devolving into giggles. The vampire fades into mist as the giggling fades into silence. "You can't hold me, Rider," a voice whispers around the room. THe vampire fades back into solidity behind Johnny, and grabs the rider's jacket, and throws. At Mercy
Johnny Blaze Flying at Mercy, Johnny lands solidly on his feet just beside her. Those eyes that reflect the Lake of Fire stares directly at Mercy. Johnny and her were gonna have a talk later. But, he looks at the Vampire, draws that silver bladed chain that was hidden in it's wrist. With a twist, he swings that chain at the vampire! the chain catching on Hellfire that would be intended to wrap around the vampire....though, if it did....the vampire would notice that it wouldn't be able to escape by vanishing.

Silver.
Mercy Thompson Mercy dodges, easily, even with the limited room of the hall. she backs away hurriedly. This is -so- very far out of her league.

The vamperis caught with the chain, the fire flashing around it and immolating it in seconds, the giggles turning into shrieks of horrible pain that fade as the ash drifts apart and onto the floor.
Johnny Blaze As soon as that Vampire disintegrates from the Hellfire Chain, The Ghost Rider turns its head sloowly to Mercy, and approaches her, leaving scorch marks in it's footsteps before the flames douse, muscle and flesh regrowing over that skull. Hair and eyes regrow as well, until Johnny Blaze is back to being Johnny..like the transformation had never happened. "I told you to stay back." Johnny looks irritated at her. Though then he looks saddened. She knows very well that he wasn't lying about his curse.

"Now you've seen me for me." He sighs.
Mercy Thompson "You did," Mercy has to agree. she sighs. "And yes I've seen you. I suppose this is where sensible people run off screaming. No one ever accused me of being sensible though." She looks around, "I think....we should leave. Soon. THe cops will be here before long."
Johnny Blaze She's the first person to not run from him. Johnny's ocean blue eyes find hers and he seems to be in a heartwarming-kind of beside himself. But at her suggestion, he nods. "Out the back, let's go." He reaches to take her hand, helping lead her through the opposite way that he had come in. Cops would likely have the way they came in completely covered by the time they arrived, so best not to risk it.
Mercy Thompson Mercy runs fast. "Getting arrested isn't on my list of things to do today...and certainly not trying to explain this." Outside she looks around. "Where's your bike?" She smirks at him. "Never seen bikers who can actually run."
Johnny Blaze Johnny keeps leading the way, running quite fast. "Wasn't always on the straight and narrow when I was younger." Before with a whistle, his motorcycle drives itself around the corner, prepared for them to mount up. Mounting his bike, he'll help Mercy get on the back of his bike behind him before he drives off! "Now I know why you called me at this hour." he sighs lightly.
Mercy Thompson Mercy hangs on. "Handy, the whole self driving bike thing. Back to the garage, roundabout route? And who else would I call? That's in New York...the pack in Montana, but they're too far away."
Johnny Blaze Johnny sighs softly. "Well, at least I know you remember me." He winks softly to her before he lets out a sigh, eventually driving them to the Garage, as it wasn't very far away from where they lived. After dismounting his bike and parking that bad boy, he offers Mercy his hand to help her off the bike.
Mercy Thompson Mercy Thompson takes the hand and gets off the bike. 'Thanks." she shakes her head. "So much for sleep...the only cure for a night like this is chocolate...c'mon, i see chocolate chip cookies in our future." she opens the door to the garage. "Remember you? How do you forget you? Really?"
Johnny Blaze Following Mercy hand in hand, Johnny blushed at her compliment or observation to him. "Well, I guess you don't, especially if you meet what I am." He shrugs, but remains close as they stop, both agreeing sleep is out of the window, though eventually, he seems to stop in his steps, as if questioning if he should do something.
Mercy Thompson Mercy waves Johnny to a seat and starts working on cookies. "I grew up in a werewolf pack Johnny. I won't say I'm used to flaming skulls but..." She's mixing as she talks. "But I'm used to the strange and the macabre."
Johnny Blaze Johnny didn't sit down, but as Mercy started working on the cookies, Johnny Wales up to her, attempted to cup her cheeks with his hands, before swiftly attempting to give her a kiss on the lips.

Though whether she accepted it or not, or whether she returned it or not, Johnny would look at her. "You are the only person who's accepted me...thank you."
Mercy Thompson Mercy freezes, not expecting that. "I..." she turns her head a little late. "Johnny.... You're who you are. What... I.." She shakes her head. "You're welcome? I need chocolate." She goes back to working on the cookies.
