Johnny Blaze Johnny was still taking care of Mercy, despite multiple arguments that they've had about fussing over her condition. She really was a terrible person to try and look after, but, Johnny was just as stubborn as she was! So, today of all nights, Johnny makes a full course Italian meal. Including lasagna, meatballs, and even a VERY poorly made breadstick.

He's dressed casually, because technically it's a date at home. "Hey Mercy, dinner's ready!" and when she came down? Candle-lit dinner. with Johnny having her chair already pulled out for her.

How romantic.
Mercy Thompson Mercy Thompson's in jeans and a t shirt, and the sling of course. She comes downstairs, slowing at sight of the candles and the chair pulled out. She buries a sigh and determinedly cooperative, sits in teh chair and lets Johnny push it in. "I didn't realize you knew how to cook italian."
Johnny Blaze Johnny smiles, pushing her chair in and even leaning down to try to give her cheek a playful kiss. "I am a man of many talents....annnnd spent three hours reading a cook book." he chuckles, moving to the next chair over and taking his seat. "Honestly, I'm not even sure I did the meatballs right." Those meatballs would taste divine.
Mercy Thompson "Well...thank you," Mercy says. "cooking one handed, like fixing cars, is quite the chore. Doctor said I get the sling off Wednesday though." She sounds relieved. She starts in on the food, not particularly hungry but needing to eat to heal. A few bites in curiosity gets teh better of her. "I have to wonder..."
Johnny Blaze "That's great news." Johnny's expression seems to brighten considerably, but her seemingly cliffhanged pre-question does seem to get him to look rather curious. "And what are you wondering about?" Johnny inquires as he stuffs a meatbal into his mouth. Apparently impressed with his own work. He didn't die! woohoo!
Mercy Thompson "I have to wonder why you're doing this," Mercy says. "I mean the famous Johnny Blaze...you could have hot chicks falling all over you and you're chasing a kinda scruffy VW mechanic with grime under her fingernails?" Subtle does not enter in. "I mean, I saw one of your stunts on TV a while back, and all the groupies hanging on you after."
Johnny Blaze Johnny looks at Mercy then as she questions why he's fawning all over her, and with a smile on his face, he looks her in the eyes, setting his silverwear down and leaning slightly towards her. "Because, unlike them, you're beautiful inside and out. You're intelligent, you know every which way around any vehicle. You're my best friend...and hte only person I trust." then he smiles...it was time to tell her why he fell for her.

"Besides, the way you smile...how you walk. How you treat others? That alone was more than enough for me to fall head over heels. But your laughter, your smile, how friendly you are...even though you can be reckless, you have the biggest heart for people and you always lend a helping hand to those who need it. Even guys like me."
Mercy Thompson Mercy squirms a little at the compliments. Not what she's used to. "I do have a mean streak you know. It's not all sweetness and light here. I don't get mad at people, I get even. "
Johnny Blaze Johnny reaches for her free hand as if to hold it...or at least make the attempt to. But his eyes don't leave hers for a single moment. "I know. It's because you're human....or, half human, I should say." he laughs. but he smiles. "I have a mean streak too...it's kinda noticeable." because, ya know, turning into a flaming demon is super subtle. "We're alike and we're similar. Birds of a feather you know?" he looks her in the eyes. As if they asked 'do you like me?'
Mercy Thompson Mercy's a sucker for puppy dog eyes. She laughs. "Yes JOhnny I like you. Not in a seriously date you sort of a way." She rolls her eyes. "Not sure I like anyone like that, or want to. But." she shrugs and then hisses at her shoulder. "damn that bald son of a peach anyway. He's nevr going to know what hit him."
Johnny Blaze Johnny just sighs. He clearly gets upset whenever he thinks about Bullseye. "Yeah, He's going to get what's coming to him. If you hear anything about a portal to hell opening...well, at least you know who it was." he winks and when she admits that she //does// like him? He leans forward as if he intends to kiss her on the lips. Hey, a man's gotta try!
Mercy Thompson Mercy gets a sauce laden fork up in time and Johnny gets his nose smeared with sauce from teh lasagna. And a frown but it's an amused one. 'You are relentless." She finishes about half the food and leans back in her seat to sip at water. "I just gotta figue out what to hit him with," she mutters. "His ego is the obvious target."
Johnny Blaze Doh! Lasagna to the nose. Foiled again! Johnny sighs defeatedly. "Hey, gotta at least try right?" he still has love in his eyes, even as he wipes the lasagna sauce off of his nose and face. "Try a wrench.' he jokes, but he shrugs. "His rep could be nice. But I don't know who he is or where to hit him."
Mercy Thompson "Guy like that'd just take being hit with a wrench as an invitation. The rep, we don't really need much to fuss with. That guy who almost failed 'cause of a girl. A few jokes about impotence..."
Johnny Blaze Johnny seems to nod. "hmm....just eat the lasagna. it's gonna get cold." he ponders though. "You could do that. You probably know his face. Maybe make derogative comments about him all over town. Maybe even put out pictures of him."
Mercy Thompson "It has to be properly subtle," Mercy muses. "I'll think of something." She leans back in her chair, slumps really. "What're you goingto do when I'm healed up and I kick you out? Are you still doing stunt tours? Or is it more driven by the flaming skull wherever it sends you?"
Johnny Blaze "You plan to kick me out?" Johnny almost looks sad, but he nods. "I understand if you don't want me here." he has rather enjoyed living with her. "Well, I don't do stunt tours so..." he shrugs. That ended when Johnny Blaze ceased to be. "Wherever vengeance needs to be done...that's where you'll find me."
Mercy Thompson "It's a one bedroom apartment Johnny...I can't have you sleeping on the couch forever," Mercy says. "Vengeance. Is that what you call the skull? IT does explain why you're so desperate for a girlfriend. That's a really lonely thing to chase after."
Johnny Blaze Johnny looks at Mercy with a sigh. "I don't mind sleeping on the couch, you know. it's comfy." Yes, he is extremely lonely with nobody to understand him. "I'm not desperate for a girlfriend...just desperate for you." he chuckles a bit, before he leans back in his chair.
Mercy Thompson Mercy doesn't have a great come back to that so she doesn't try. "Well...I'm not kicking you out quite yet," seh says. "I still need someone to change the transmission in that Fox, and there's a couple of oil changes scheduled for tomorrow."
Johnny Blaze Johnny chuckles. "Only keepin' me here till ya don't need me anymore, huh?" Johnny teases her very softly until he shrugs. "Well, maybe I can have the bed and you can have the couch for a change." he winks.
Mercy Thompson Mercy snorts. "You're always welcome to visit," is what she says though. Dinner done she gets up and starts cleaning up. IT takes longer one handed but she can actually do it. "You cooked, I'll clean."
