Damian Wayne      It had been a bit more than a week since the attack on Wayne Tower caused Bruce to go home and convalesce. Damian himself had scantly left the confines of Stately Wayne Manor.

The GCPD officers posted at the Manor we're aware of Damian's invitation to Carrie. She would have no issues getting through the gate to the Manor.

The Library was grand, the kind of place where someone could spend an eternity, most of all, it was quiet despite any noises outside of the doors.
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley enters without much issue in spite of the police guard at the door. That was something new for the manor, but given the recent issues at Wayne Tower it wasn't a huge surprise, either. She follows the hall down to the library to step inside having been here once before while being given a small round-about tour by Bruce himself. Now she pauses to regard the bookshelves wistfully before shaking her head to tear her attention away. She'd come here to check up on Damian after all.

"Damian?"
Damian Wayne      Damian had been sitting at a high back leather chair, facing a grand window. Carrie's announcement has him close the large leather-backed book in his lap, and peek around the chair. He stands to greet Carrie. "Hi." He says, that familiar reserved tone he uses in public. "How are you?"
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley offers Damian a warm smile. It wasn't often she got to really speak with him anymore between her own training, and school. Not that she told him about the training of course; she just claimed it was more work needing her attention. "I'm doing well. You? I understand things have been a bit eventful for your family lately." She pauses there as the corner of her lips twitch with an attempt to keep her expression from changing. Instead she lifts a hand to nudge her glasses further up her nose in a mild fidget. "It seems I keep running into more of your brothers lately, to be honest."
Damian Wayne      Damian looks to Carrie, offering a small smile. "I'm alright. Father is still convalescing." He comments, looking a little uneasy at that.

Then the talk of more brothers, Damian's face goes blank. "Grayson and Drake?" Not mentioning Jason at all. Wether it's on purpose is up for debate.
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley gives a faint look of worry at mention of Bruce still being injured. "I hadn't realized it was so bad. I'm sorry. I hope he's okay, ultimately." The question of the brothers earns a little shake of her head. "Yeah, I met Tim awhile back while he was jumping out of a window here," she admits as she gestures to one of the very same windows in the manor. "I was dropping off some study material I thought you might like and thought he was a burglar at first. Almost tazed him," she adds before giving a small shrug.

"But the other brother is the one that supposedly died years ago in a skiing accident that Tim told me about." There's a pause as she fixes her gaze solidly on Damian. "Who I happened to meet earlier this Summer perfectly alive and well. He's back in town now too." Pausing a beat, she adds, "There's something really strange about the rest of your family, Damian."
Damian Wayne      "He should be fine soon. Just takes longer to heal up Damian's eyes roll back as Carrie mentions Tim and his acrobatics. "Cause the front door is so hard to use."

Then the mention of Jason, and Damian realizes he is almost dead to rights. "That's an understatement. Now you know why I only really talk about Grayson."
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley lets out a slow sigh at that only to give a nod of apparent agreement. "I don't blame you there at all. I get the feeling Jason is even weirder than Tim if even Tim is wishing he were dead and gone." Her head shakes a little bit at that, and she reaches up to run a hand back through her hair again. "I'm sorry to bring that up out of the blue. It'd just been bugging me for a bit. I couldn't tell if Tim was lying or if something had happened." Offering a weak smile she asks, "But you're doing okay though, right?"
Damian Wayne      "It's all very moronic." He adds in. "They all argue and fight and I don't like to have anything to do with it all. So I just draw, and read. They're older than me, so I can just...blend into the scenery."

Damian gives a good nod as his green eyes meet hers. "Yeah, I'm okay. Even with all this...shit going on." He gestures to the air, mostly meaning the Wayne Tower attack. "I at least get to see him more now."
Carrie Kelley "Siblings can be like that, I'm told. Never had any myself," Carrie admits with a helpless shrug. "But if they're anything like college roommates I imagine you want to push them out a window now and then." A wan chuckle comes as she glances over the library again a bit more relaxed than when she first came in. Perhaps she'd been expecting to hear some grandoise story about the Wayne sibling rivalry, or something. Either way with Damian just being himself it was more reassuring than any story she could hear. "That's good then. I actually had a chance to talk with him the other month. I... guess he's not quite as bad as I thought from all the rumors. I'm glad you get to spend time with him though. It does seem like he forgets that part of being a father too often."
Damian Wayne      Damian shrugs. "Up until two years ago, I didn't either." He offers, looking to the floor as his father is mentioned. "I think he just does as much as he can. He comes to more of my matches than I thought he would. And we all do some cool things, trips and stuff."

"Still, any parent is better than the one who just ups and leaves you on your dad's doorstep. Never having met him before." That's the story the press were told at least, the son of Bruce Wayne and a fly-by-night socialite.
Carrie Kelley Mention of parents... any parents... causes Carrie's expression to shift a bit. Where she usually smiled, or attempted to keep in good spirits, this topic just seems to drain the life from her face. "Yeah. I guess so." There's no real enthusiasm in her tone as she shakes her head. "I'm sorry that happened. Parents can really suck sometimes. I'm glad your dad is trying though. He really does care about you. I can tell that much," she adds with a more genuine smile. Given the topic though she glances over her shoulder toward the door back out. "I should probably be heading back into the city before it gets too late. If you ever need to talk or anything though, Damian, you know I'll listen."
Damian Wayne      Damian looks up to Carrie, only shifting his gaze to think quickly. He looks as if he is just very happy. At least with things how they are right now. The teen gives Carrie a quick embrace, not very long, but for Damian, it was a whole lot more. "Thanks Carrie." He adds in, giving a meek smile.
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley is surprised by the hug, but accepts it with a smile. That was an unexpected move but one she appreciates none the less. "Any time. I know I'm not much of a teacher, but you are one of my students. I'll always be here if you need. See you around, Damian." With that, she heads out of the library to exit the manor.
