Betty Cooper Betty Cooper is sitting at one of her usual booths, a strawberry milkshake in front of her. She is also tapping away on her phone, tonight being an unusually solitary evening for her. Betty sets the phone down on the table with a sigh while she waits for a return text. One might also notice the newspaper folded up beside her milkshake which features supposed wolf sightings.
Superwoman     It is then that a somewhat tall, dark haired woman walks her way into the shoppe. She's in casual blue jeans and a T-shirt, though it's clear she has no sense of fashion. She's carrying a backpack, but that backpack has seen better days. Having a neon pink trim on black. She looks around a bit and sighs. She clearly has no idea where she is. "Excuse me." She says as she looks to Pop, behind the counter. "Can you please tell me what town I am in?" To those listening, she has a very unusual accent as well.
Betty Cooper Betty Cooper looks up as the woman walks inside. She doesn't watch her long as another text lights up her phone. With a smile she begins to respond. It's Archie of course explaining why he's not there tonight. After she finishes her response, Betty picks up the newspaper and sips her drink.
Superwoman     Pop tries to help out, but he does get somewhat flustered easily since the woman does not seem to know a lot of the local places around, so Pop points in Betty's direction and the woman walks her way towards Betty. 'Ex...cuse me...I think is the term. Are you....Betty?" She says softly.
Betty Cooper Betty Cooper looks up from her paper, "Umm.. yeah! I'm Betty, do I know you from somewhere? I did kind of overhear you asking what town you're in though so I am guessing Pop told you who I am." She smiles, "This is Riverdale, a quiet town that can be very loud."
Superwoman     "He did, yes. This 'Pop' seemed to get upset rather easily since I asked a lot of questions, so he directed me to you." The woman then gestures to the booth. "Do you mind if I sit down?" She then makes a face. "I don't think we have met, no...."
Betty Cooper Betty Cooper blinks for a second with raised brows in surprise, "Oh! Um.. yeah sure.. I don't mind.. no. Do you.. need some help then? I would be happy to answer some questions miss..?"
Superwoman     The woman sits down and sighs a bit. "Faora. I am afraid I am very new to this place and have many questions. I only came in here because I saw people in here, and I am still learning english. So, this is Riverdale. What is...chok'lit?" And she asks quite a few more seemingly innocent questions that are fairly simple to answer.
Betty Cooper Betty Cooper pauses for a moment, eyes still a tad widened at the woman's strange ignorance, "Well.. that.. is a very interesting name Faora! Where are you from exactly? And do you mean chocolate? Well.. it's.. a type of dessert. And you've never had it before?"
Superwoman     "I'm from pretty far away....a place that no longer exists." Faora then smiles. "I do not wish to speak of it at the moment." She then tilts her head. "I have not. I've never even heard of chocolate until just now. Unfortunately, I do not have a way to pay for anything. It seems people require something called 'money'."
Betty Cooper Betty Cooper can't help but widen her eyes more at Faora's responses, "No longer exists? I.. I can understand not wanting to talk about that but.. I don't really understand. Are you from a country that was invaded?" She tries not to pry but her entire being is begging her to inquire, "And this country you're from had no chocolate? Didn't even know what it was? And you didn't.. know that you.. had to.. you didn't know about money?" She notes that Faora doesn't really look like she's from anywhere "exotic", at least not really, "Are you.. from the Amazon rainforest or...?"
Superwoman     "Sure...we'll say country, and....sure...we'll say it was invaded. And the invading force led to it's destruction. Have had a bit of a hierarchy, but we knew we had to eat and dress ourselves. otherwise, we were placed into 'Houses' that pretty much determined what we did. My 'house name' is Hu-ul. It was military in function, but our leader saw the invasion coming, and tried to convince the ruling council about it coming. Unfortunately, the invasion was from within and the Council. Our leader then thought it would be more prudent to save our country by force, and evacuate. He was able to sway me with his conviction. Unfortuantely, I believe the saying around here is 'the path to hell is paved with good intentions'. I did not realize how insane he truly was....until he ordered me to kill someone. One of the people I was trying to save." She then takes a deep breath, and lets it out slowly. "It was at that time, I turned him over to the council. We were trying to save people....by killing them. No. I turned our commander over to the council......and myself. The invasion happened while he and I were imprisoned and....we were recently released....to a country that is no longer there."
Betty Cooper Betty Cooper keeps blinking, she can't stop, "Woah.. woah.. Faora.. I.. I'm sorry but I just.. I've never heard of any of this happening on the news. I mean you sound like some.. world war two survivor but that was almost a hundred years ago!" She pauses for a second, thinking this could be some crazy woman, but she doesn't want to agitate her, "I.. I am not sure how I can help you. I really don't have any money on me.."
Superwoman     "It's all right. I imagine I can earn my way here, if need be....and learn as I go." faora then looks to Pop, as he comes over with a bit of food and a drink....and a scoop of ice cream. "Ah overheard the conversation, and if you're willing to help out, I'll hire ya....Faora. Jus'.....be careful with some of tha regulars." Faora smiles to Pop. "thank you....Pop." And Pop walks away. "Is his real name 'Pop'?"
Betty Cooper Betty Cooper shakes her head and then shrugs, "It might as well be.. he's everyone's.. grandfather figure in a way. It's just what we call him honestly. But it sounds like you just caught a break Faora! That's really great! Do you have any.. family?"
Superwoman     "I certainly hope so. I also hope I don't break anything." Faora says with a slight bit of humor. "I'm afraid not. As far as I know, I'm the only one that survived my Pl.....country's destruction." Faora then takes a deep breath. "It seems Pop is a nice person, even willing to give a complete stranger a break."
Betty Cooper Betty Cooper cannot help but catch the slight stutter Faora let slip but she has no reason to jump to the conclusion that she was about to say 'planet.' Instead she just keeps listening, "I.. see. But yeah Pop is great! He's always looking for help around here and it's probably the easiest job in town. He's super nice and never yells.. come to think of it I've never seen him angry that I can recall."
Superwoman     "Good. I think he'll need a bit of patience with me." Faora then looks to Pop. "I shall start tomorrow, then?" And Pop nods. "I shall likely stay around to learn what Pop does here." She then smiles to Betty. "Thank you for your help....and for listening, Betty."
Betty Cooper Betty Cooper nods and smiles, "Of course Faora! I am sure you'll be seeing quite a bit of me. I come here a lot and so do my friends. It's kind of the town's.. soul." She looks down at her phone again, "I'm sure you'll learn to fit in here."
Superwoman     "I hope so." Faora then looks down to Betty's phone. "What is that?"
Betty Cooper Betty Cooper looks back up again, "Oh this? It's an... iphone? I use it to talk to my friends and.. well anyone."
Superwoman Faora tilts her head. "Interesting device." She then shrugs. "again, need money." She says as she begins to eat, and they start to converse about other things around town, likely Faora curious as to what's going on and what she'll have to look out for.
Betty Cooper Betty Cooper nods and answers what questions she can while she finishes her milkshake, the newspaper set aside for now..
Superwoman     The questions aren't hard. Ironically, they're about who is of note around the town. More than likely, Betty has mentioned the Lodges, the Andrews, Moose, Jughead, Josie and most of the normal ones around Riverdale....and who to watch out for, such as Cheryl Blosson. "What is so bad about Cheryl Blossom?"
Betty Cooper Betty Cooper pauses, "I mean she's not.. bad. She's just very particular about who she lets into her life. Her family is really old and very influential. They're like.. nobility in a way. Very wealthy and picky about who they associate with. So arrogant? Yes. Bad? No."
Superwoman     "Mmmm....Arrogance is what my former general had when he tried to take over the council. Sadly, it's a very disgusting trait that can poison friends and family alike. Especially if they have a strong influence."
Betty Cooper Betty Cooper nods, "Yeah.. well I've seen her good moments. I don't think she's like your.. former general. Her brother died last year so.. it's been hard for her.."
Superwoman     "I can only imagine." Faora has been eating her food this entire time as well. However, it is now that she tries the chocolate ice cream. "This is......good!" She looks at the ice cream a bit closer.
Betty Cooper Betty Cooper widens her eyes a bit, "Yes.. yes it is. I am sure you'll be eating plenty of stuff like that... you know while you're here working. And if you are like most people you'll probably be eating here quite a bit on your off hours too."
Superwoman     Faora chuckles a bit. "I don't think I should eat more than my share. Otherwise I'd eat too much." Faora says as she finishes the ice cream and pushes the dishes back. "I likely will, if most of the people are like you, Betty. Thank you again, Betty." She then looks about. "I supposed I should find a place to stay for tonight."
Betty Cooper Betty Cooper nods, "You're welcome Faora! I wish I could be of more help to you. But now that you have a job with Pop, maybe he knows a place you can stay? Or help you with a motel room temporarily?"
Superwoman     "We can hope so, Betty. thank you again. I imagine I'll see you a lot here." And Faora goes over to talk to Pop.....
