Owner Pose
Poseidon The ocean waves are a constant. They crash against the shoreline and retreat. It is no different tonight except that the sharks are hunting. Poseidon's awareness IS the ocean and he knows all of this. All is as he wills it for now. A pack of orcas makes one last pass near the shore in search of shore dwelling prey. A gray whale takes a breath and descends once more. A great white shark retreats as one of the orcas attack..
Ares As Poseidon watched from the shoreline to his great magnificence that is the ocean itself, He would hear a crack of thunder strike some distance behind him. Though it would not be his brother, Zeus....but his nephew. The God of War, Ares, stood in his pitch black armor that covered every inch of him except his fingers and his head. A tattered black cape touch the ground behind him as he approached the Sea God. "Poseidon."

Red eyes watched his uncle, as he seemed satisfied that the rumors in the Pantheon were true.

Poseidon lay dormant no longer.

"What brings you out of your halls from the deep sea?"
Poseidon At that moment a waterspout descends from the clouds and begin to approach the shoreline, but Poseidon has taken the form of a large wave that appears to have been formed by the whirlwind. It crashes against the shoreline, some of the water remaining as the wave is pulled back out to sea. Poseidon takes a humanoid form for Ares, there is no point in being dramatic, "Our Earth is in danger. Can you not feel it? Your domain is war but war is partially what causes this disruption. It is the way men have chosen to appease you and to appease their own egos Ares. Your power grows but if there is no Earth, then we must all find another world to plant ourselves. That is a quest that would be far greater than any epic before."
Ares Ares comes face to face with Poseidon. Sure, they've had squabbles in the past, but Poseidon was a wise and fair God. Thus, Ares listened to him, nodding. "I have long felt it. The Gods are rising again. Hela, the Asgardian Death Goddess, has risen again. I know not what her plans are, but she should be watched carefully." he looks around. "But...even more pressing is this: An Infinity Stone has been located. In the possession of a psychic entity. His influence can be seen on the earth." He looks upon Poseidon.
Poseidon Poseidon listens and feels, "The stone is not within my domain that I can feel if that is what you are asking. This entity is not known to me. But I agree that such a stone causes more peril than any war without it can cause. The Infinity Stones as you know should remain buried. They are not machines of war, they are machines of undoing what has been created. Even Hela should fear them. What else do you know?"
Ares Ares looks upon Poseidon and he nods. "I am well aware." he sighs then. "You missed much while you slept. Odin, King of Asgard, is dead. His son, Thor, the Asgardian God of Thunder, has risen to the throne. But, Asgard has been completely destroyed in what I believe was their Ragnarok. So, they have claimed an island here on earth for themselves, calling it New Asgard. I recommend you speak with the new King to see what his plans are. You are better at diplomacy."
Poseidon Poseidon thinks for a moment as Ares speaks and then after, "Odin dead.. it is tragic. He was wise and tempered. I do not know that Thor can rule as his father did. I fear the worst for the Asgardians but perhaps the young son will prove me wrong. I hope that he does. I will speak with him however, if only to establish a dialogue. I know of his exploits and have not heard of his diplomatic victories. Unless they are secret then I suspect that they are not very significant or that they are non-existent. But as you say I have been asleep for some time and it may be that even Thor is different now."
Ares "His loss is felt across the realms." Ares shakes his head. "I have met with Thor. He seems wise in his young rule. It sounds as if he is not the battle-hungry youth we knew thousands of years ago. Instead, my concern is his brother, Loki. Who I imagine hasn't grown much from the trickster he has decided to be." He shakes his head. "But, you have missed much indeed. But enough of that. How is the world beneath the oceans?"
Poseidon Poseidon answers Ares as he nods in agreement, "Loki is a threat but it is not my place to stop him or to keep watch over him. Unless he assaults the waters of Earth I will not intervene. To do so would deprive others of their destinies. But the oceans, the lakes, the rivers, one and all they thrive as they always have. Atlantis still stands and its' King retains my favor. I am glad that he wields my power in the service of good. It is one way that I can influence the world for the better without acting directly."
Ares Ares looks upon Poseidon as he speaks, shaking his head. "So I see you still intend to spend much of your time on the sidelines." Ares never DID quite approve of Poseidon's willingness to just...exist, and watch. Ares was one of the go-getters of the Pantheon. He wanted something done? he went and got it done. He sighs. "At least Atlantis stands. Pehrpas the King of such a nation will heed you, should you have a task that you find needs doing." Ares sighs. Before he asks. "Tell me...how is Aphrodite?"
Poseidon Poseidon smiles, "Inaction can be even more powerful than action. As for Aphrodite I have not seen her in centuries. Perhaps she slumbers or has returned to Olympus. If she has returned to this plane then she has not sought me out yet."
Ares Ares shakes his head then. "Shame." he says both of Poseidon and of the news of Aphrodite. "Perhaps even I should have released my pride and returned to the fold." he sighs. "So, will you be the one to tell Diana the truth? That I am not a devil?" he seems to question if Poseidon knows of such events.
Poseidon Poseidon thinks for a moment, "Diana's opinion of you is hers to form Ares. I cannot force her to accept what she knows of you. If she believes falsehoods regarding your character or your actions then I would be happy to correct her understanding of you." He smiles, "If she thinks so little of you, perhaps by your future actions she will learn that you are not a devil."
Ares Ares sighs. "Would be nice to have a sibling who does't want to kill me for once." he looks back to Poseidon with a shrug of his armored shoulders, eventually looking to his uncle. "Well, if she brings up something bad about me, maybe you can change her mind to hear it from someone else." he shrugs softly. "Well, that's why I've been attempting to live as a man. To not be so frowned upon and coninually treated like a dog." he sighs. "But, you should meet Alexander one of these days." (Phobos)
Poseidon Poseidon smiles again, "Diana will live for a very long time. One day she will know that you are not a devil. There are demonic beings in this world and on other worlds whose natures are as apparent as their foul visages. Experience will show her the truth if words cannot. As I said your actions will prove her assumptions wrong. Your sphere of influence is war, battle, strife. This does not make you evil. War is inevitable and there will never be a time where it does not exist. You are War's steward Ares. Diana is not fully one of us, she has many human perceptions, and many human thoughts. Her view of you is as human as it is Olympian."
Ares Ares scoffs, looking to Poseidon with what looks like pure seriousness in his eyes. "I AM War." Ares responds to the Sea God before he looks up. "So long as there is violence, strife, conflict of any nature...there I will be as well." Poseidon could full well know that there are few Gods who could actually claim victory over Ares when he's set his mind to victory. But, he seems to smile then. "Well, even men like me can change. As it stands, there is much to do, much left t obe done."
Poseidon Poseidon nods, "Of course.. but you understand what I am saying then. She does not understand that each of us are the stewards and the embodiment of an aspect of the world. We are forces of nature unto ourselves. Without us there would be only chaos. Diana is a hero, as brave and strong as any in the odysses, as skilled in battle as any a warrior who has ever lived. This is in no small measure due to her divine heritage, indeed it is because of it, but she identifies more with the humans it seems. Her perception does not yet grasp the necessity of our existence, nor does she realize that there are times when we will do very inhuman things, because we must act, or make decisions that humans will never have to. War must be managed and you are the only one who can manage it, even if it means encouraging it, even if it means feeding on the power that comes from it. As you said, you are War. But yes there is much to do and there is much that will never be done."
Ares Ares looks upon Poseidon and simply nods. "She's too naive. More than likely she will bring calamity rather than salvation. Regardless, whether she understands or not, I trust that we will still continue to do what needs doing." he sighs, before his eyes glow just a bit more red. "War never changes, does it?" he says as he looks around. "I should take my leave. Good chat, Poseidon." and suddenly, like the wind, Ares is gone. Fading into shadow.
Poseidon Poseidon watches Ares leave in silence. It was a good talk.
